Smile for Me
.Flashback.
"Just smile. It really wouldn't hurt you."
His face distorted into a million different odd faces but not one of them came close to a smile. I giggled. He never failed to make me laugh.
"Like this," I said, pushing his cheeks up slightly. I let go, and there it was, the most adorable but sexy smile I had ever seen.
"Perfect. See, I told you."
"Just shut up would you?" he said in that husky voice of his and with that, he leaned in and kissed me.
.End flashback.
Tears fell from my eyes as I reminisced all those happy times, happy times with a person that wasn't there. My knight in shining armor had come to save me, but his grip was too loose and I fell on the ride back to eternal bliss. It was raining heavily outside, thunder and all. Just what I needed to make myself feel worst than I already felt.
"Damn him." My lips touched the flute gently as I sipped my liquid crystal. He left me there, stranded, and all to do what? Just to fight evil. Why the hell was he being so good all of a sudden? He was never like that at school, he was the Prince of Slytherin and I was the Bookworm. Maybe that was why I fell head over heels for him.
I looked into the crib beside me, my love, my baby, sleeping soundly. She had platinum blonde hair and icy silver eyes, just like her father. I had her 2 years ago, 7 months after that bastard left me, after he decided to be good. Sometimes, she'd have tantrums and I could swear that those icy glares she gives me are exact duplicates of her father's.
He left before I found out that I was carrying Juliana, before I could tell him. My tears fell onto Lia's face, causing her to stir. Maybe I didn't hate her father, maybe I hated what he had done to me, but what did it matter? He was gone, and he would probably never come back. It was a war, for Pete's sake, nobody ever knew what would happen.
"Hm?" I heard knocking on my front door. I walked slowly, at this time of night; nobody important would come to my doorstep. I twisted the doorknob and looked out, there he was, standing in the pouring rain, his hair plastered to his face. I opened my eyes wider, no, I was dreaming, wasn't I?
"It's me Mina, we won, everything's alright now," he said. He didn't smile, keeping the stern look on his face. I stared at him, he just comes back and no hug, no smile, nothing?
I gestured for him to come in. He hesitated but when he did enter my house, he stared at the white cot in my living room. He peered into it and his face changed.
"You had a baby? Whose is it?" He asked, a hinted a tinge of sadness and a bit of anger in his voice.
I just nodded and kept my head down. I didn't want to tell him just after he came back from a war. I didn't have the heart to tell him now, he didn't really need all the trouble a baby would bring.
He looked closer at Lia and frowned. I guess he must have realised that she looked a lot like him.
"Is she mine?" he questioned. I didn't answer. He placed his hands on my shoulders and shook my gently, repeating his question. I nodded my head slightly.
He tilted my chin upwards and looked into my eyes. He smiled.
"Smile for me, would you?" Those words just broke my heart. I couldn't help but smile.
Then, we kissed.
