Okay this story came out of me like word vomit! I have ABSOLUTLY o idea where is came from. If you guys like it, I will continue it it after Neighbors and Soulmates is done. Or if you don't I'll delete it.
Let me know what you think!
As ALWAYS I do not own DESCENDANTS or MALEFICENT
Warning for swearing!
"Once upon a time… yeah no. I'm not starting like that. It sounds too cheesy and like everything started off happy. Let's start off with how things were before we came into the picture, shall we? Long before everything happened, and before where we are now. The Beast…"
"Ahem."
"Fine. Adam and Belle had just married, and for their 'honeymoon' the king decided to Unite all of the kingdoms to create the United States of Auradon. Yeah. What a way to celebrate your marriage to your true love…"
"Mal…"
"Okay. Okay. Gees, keep your fur on. Anyway, they decided to create the United States of Auradon. Yeah I know. Big applause. Moving on. During the reconstruction, the king decided to round up all of the villains, and place them on a remote island that was to be called the Isle of the Lost. Why? I don't know. I have asked a multitude of times, and I have yet to receive a good enough answer."
"You're giving…"
"Well, I can't leave out too much."
"It took them a while too. They just couldn't round them up in a day and boot them off. It took them years."
"Okay, Mal. I think they get it."
"You're so testy today. As they were rounding up the villains, some managed to get away, with their children. Or rather they were hidden away. The Queen of the Moors, my mother, hid a few of the villains, along with herself, in the Moors. Maleficent, Queen Grimhilde, Jafar, Cruella, Ursula, Hades, Anastasia, and a couple of other villains were in the Moors when they were being captured. As the heroes were coming to look for the remaining villains, Maleficent created a barrier around the Moors so that no one could enter."
"This is a long intro."
"Do you want to do it, Mr. Two hour speeches?"
"Proceed."
"Thank you. When the king and Queen found out that Maleficent created the barrier, they tried what they could to break it down, but nothing could penetrate it. So they let them be, in the hopes that they wouldn't cause chaos. 20 years had passed, and the 'villains' remained under the barrier."
"I wish you guys weren't."
"You weren't saying that the very first time we met."
"Shush."
"Okay. Now, again, 20 years later was when things were going to take a huge turn…"
"Done?"
"YES! Gees, man. I didn't know having you here while I did this was going to turn into you interrupting me every 30 seconds. You're being a real pain in my ass,"
"I love you too."
"NO!" Ben yelled as he slammed his hands on his fathers desk. "You can't make me marry a monster!"
"I don't want to make you, Ben," Adam said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "But if we want to make peace with the Moors, we have no other choice," he explained.
"What about Audrey?" He asked.
"You don't even like Audrey," Adam pointed out. "You have been complaining about her for almost your entire relationship."
"I'd rather marry a prissy pink bitch than a child of a villain. Who's idea was this?"
Belle and Adam looked at each other with worry in their eyes. They had been the ones to initiate the betrothal, and they didn't know how Ben was going to react to it.
"We initiated it, but Maleficent and Hades agreed," Adam said. "The princess of the Moors is their daughter."
"WHAT?!"
"They have not made any trouble for 20 years, Ben," Belle said as she stood by her husband. "Queen Maleficent has been trying to make peace for 10 years. Why would you not want that?" She asked.
"They are villains," Ben stated through his teeth. "They will try to kill us all."
"You don't know that," Adam said. "And neither do we, but since the Moors would be a great alliance for our, and your future, kingdom."
Ben sat and slumped in his chair. He was 23 years old and he was being betrothed to a villainess.
"Ben, it's for the good of the kingdom," Adam said. "You don't have to love or like her, but…"
"Yeah," Ben said as cut his father off. "I get it."
"Will you at least try?" Belle asked. "We're not going to marry you off if she is evil."
"Why don't I get a say?"
"You do," Adam said. "You are going to meet her, and if you think you can tolerate her for the sake of the kingdom, you will wed."
"Wow," Ben said as he rolled his eyes. "What a choice."
"It's the only way to create peace."
"Why not let them in, then when their guards are down, trap them, and transport them to the Isle?"
"Because then we would be the villains," Belle said. "You are a noble man and future king. Having the princess of the Moors would make you a powerful couple. This will me good for both the Moors and Auradon."
Ben sat there with a grimace on his face. He didn't want to marry the princess of the Moors. He didn't want anything to do with the Moors at all. In his mind it was the second home of villains, and he didn't want anything to do with them.
"Fine," he said with a gruff. "I'll do it for Auradon. When is it going to be here?"
"Thank you, Ben," his dad said as he walked over and clasped Ben on the shoulder.
"And SHE will be here tomorrow," Belle said in a slight scolding tone.
She knew she taught Ben better, but she understood that he was upset. She walked up to him and rubbed his shoulder.
"You are making a fine decision. You are going to make Auradon proud," she said to him.
Ben gave a stiff nod before walking out of his dad's office, and up to his room. He hated what was going on, and he knew there was one thing for sure. He was going to hate his future bride.
"Mally?" Hades said, calling his daughter.
"She is going to hate us," Maleficent said as she started rubbing her hands nervously. "How do we tell her?"
"Gently?" Hades questioned with a shrug.
They hadn't expected to ever hear a response from Auradon about wanting peace, but now, after many letters between the kingdoms, they wanted their crown prince to marry the princess of the Moors. They didn't know how Mal was going to take this.
"Hey, dad," Mal said as she walked over to her mother's throne. "What's up?"
"We have news for you," Hades said as she walked over to Mal and wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
"What kind of news?" she asked. "Did Jay make the water nymphs mad again, I told him…"
"No, baby," Maleficent said, cutting Mal off. "It has nothing to do with your friends."
"Oh. Then what is it?"
Hades and Maleficent looked at each other before taking a deep breath and looking back at Mal.
"Am I in trouble or something?" she asked.
"No," Hades said as he shook his head. "I wanted to let you know that Auradon has finally agreed to peace."
"That's great!" Mal exclaimed in excitement, but noticed that her parents were not smiling. "That is good right?"
"Yes, but there is a catch," Maleficent said as she stood from her throne and walked over to Mal. "They want you to marry the crowned prince."
Mal's mouth dropped to the floor. They wanted her to what? She thought.
"They want me to marry their prince?" she asked in shock. "No!"
"Mally, I know that you…"
"You guys want this too?" she asked.
"We don't want to make you do anything, but this is good for the Moors and for Auradon," Maleficent said. "You both would rule side by side, and you would be the best queen the Moors would ever have."
"You're the queen, mom," Mal said.
"Well, that may be true, but I won't be forever," she said.
Mal groaned loudly. She didn't want to marry the prince. She wanted to stay in the Moors with her parents and friends.
"Beastie?" Maleficent called, making Mal look up at her with a small frown. "I know this is too much for you and even for the prince, but it's a good thing for both kingdoms. Don't you want the Moors to thrive?"
"Of course I do," Mal said. "I love it here. It's my home."
"And it always will be," Hades said as he kissed Mal on the top of her head.
Mal leaned her head against his chest, making her long, curly purple hair fall past her shoulders. She didn't know what to do. She didn't even know what to think. She knew that her parents would never steer her in the wrong direction, but she didn't want to leave.
"Okay," Mal said softly as she looked up at her dad. "I'll do it for the Moors."
"That's my girl," Hades said.
"When do I leave?" She asked.
"Tomorrow at dawn," Maleficent said.
"So soon?"
"It is to give you and the prince time to get to know each other."
"Do I have enough time to say goodbye to my friends?" she asked.
"Of course you do," Maleficent said as she walked over to Mal and caressed her cheek. "You are going to make me so proud, my little fae," she said. "You are everything I could ever hope for in a daughter."
"Will I ever see you again," Mal asked as she started to cry and hang on to her mother's brown robes.
"I am your mother," she said. "All the tree warriors and barriers couldn't keep me away from you. Now, why don't you go and spend time with your friends. I bet this is going to be just as painful for them as it is for you."
Mal gave her mom a watery smile before hugging her tightly. She did the same with her dad, before walking into the forest to find her friends.
"I hope we are making the right choice," Hades said as he clasped a hand on Maleficent's wing.
"I know we are," she said as she looked at Hades' hand.
She flicked her fingers, making the lord of the underworld fly across the pond and into the water.
"We may share a daughter, but do not touch me," she said before she sat down and smirked at him.
He huffed a laugh, before getting up and walking away.
The next day came faster than either Ben or Mal were expecting. Mal was being hugged by her friends as they waited for the limo to arrive for her.
"You'll call right?" Evie asked as she squeezed Mal tightly.
"Everyday," she said.
"You're sure you have everything?" Carlos asked.
"Everything I'm going to need," she said as she held the two woven bags in her hands.
"And you're going to call when you get there?" Uma asked.
"For the last time, yes," Mal said.
Jay stood there with his arms over his chest. He hated that Mal was leaving. He didn't want his sister to leave, but he knew it would help out the Moors if she did, and he would see her again.
"Come on you big lug," Mal said as she nudged his shoulder. "I'm going to call every night."
"Yeah, but it's going to be different knowing you're not here," he said. "Plus, you can't call when you're married. He's going to be in the room."
Mal didn't say anything. She didn't know what to say. All she did was wrap her friends in a group hug, before walking over to her parents.
"You're going to do wonderful things, little fae," Maleficent said as she gave Mal a kiss on her head.
Mal gave her mom a tight smile before walking in front of her dad.
"Knock'em dead kiddo," he said as he hugged her small frame, and if you need anything…"
"I know, dad," she said before she kissed him on the cheek.
"MALEFICENT!" someone called through the thick trees. "WE ARE HERE FOR THE PRINCESS!"
Maleficent rolled her eyes before taking Mal's hand and walking her to the barrier border. As they grew near, they saw two men standing on the other side of the barrier in blue and yellow uniforms.
"There is no need to shout," Maleficent said as she walked out of the trees to herself, leaving Mal standing in the shadows.
The two men's eyes widened when they saw her, because they weren't expecting who they were seeing. The Maleficent that they knew was dark and gloomy. The woman standing in front of them was not. She was tall, with big brown wings, long brown hair, horns that came out of the top of her head, and brown robes. Her eyes were a glorious green, her lips were as red as cherries, and her cheekbones were prominent.
"Sorry, madam," one of the men said. "We did not know how far you were."
"It is quite alright," she said. "I have a request, before you take my daughter."
The men nodded, making Maleficent smile.
"You will take her, but she is to be in the best care while in transportation," she said.
"Yes, madam," the man said. "Same as the orders from Queen Belle herself. She will be in the best hands of Auradon."
"Very good," she said as she turned to look back at the forest. "Come, my darling."
Mal took a deep breath before walking out of the shadows. She was wearing a long flowy dress that was a powder shade of blue. There were little white flowers embroidered all over it and it looked stunning on her, but she was covered in a dark purple cloak and hood. She looked up at the men through her eyelashes, not knowing how to feel. The men looked at Mal in surprise too. They didn't expect Maleficent's daughter to look the way she did either. She had violet purple hair, emerald green eyes, plump pink lips, and rosey cheeks. Maleficent raised her hands, creating a small walkway through that barrier for Mal to walk through.
"Bye, baby," Maleficent said as Mal took a couple of steps. "Do great things."
Mal gave her mother a smile before walking through the opening and toward the two men.
"May I help you with your bags, princess?" The man with blonde hair asked.
Mal turned back when she heard the barrier close, and shed a tear as her friends and dad walked out of the trees to wave goodbye. She gave them a wave before handing her bags to the man with blonde hair.
"Right this way," the man with brown hair said as he held the door open for Mal.
"Thank you… um..." Mal said as she got into the seat.
"My name is Jason, and my friend is Thomas, madam," he said as he gave Mal a comforting smile. "And you are welcome," he said as he closed the door, letting Mal let out the breath she was holding.
They were nice so far, Mal thought to herself. But she was more worried about meeting the royal family. She watched as the Moors went out of view, and then it all became real of how much her life was going to change.
"Where is he?" Belle asked as she, Adam, and Jane waited at the top of the castle steps.
"I don't know," Jane said. "He wasn't in his room when I went to check."
"This is so embarrassing," Belle said. "Thank you again Jane for offering to be Princess Mallory's lady in waiting. You really didn't have to."
"It's my pleasure, Aunt Belle," Jane said with a bright smile. "Plus, it might make her feel more comfortable to have another fairy friend."
"Here they come," Adam said as he straightened his posture.
The limo pulled up in front of the castle steps and stopped. Jason walked around to the back door, while Thomas walked to the trunk. Jason opened the door, and held out his hand out to help the princess out of the limo. The king and queen did not know what to expect when they thought of Maleficent and Hades' daughter, but she was not what they were expecting.
"Thank you, Jason," Mal said as Jason helped her up the steps.
Her cloak trailed behind her as she slowly made her way up the giant steps. When she got to the top she looked up at the king, and ducked her head. Before giving him a small bow.
"Hello, Princess Mallory," King Adam said in a deep tone. "I'm sorry that this is what our peace treaty has come to, but…"
"It's fine, your majesty," Mal said as she pulled her head up, but kept her eyes down. "I understand that it is the best for both of our kingdoms."
"Yes, well," Adam said as he straightened his suit. "My son is missing at the moment," he said. "He probably got caught up looking over some legislations in his office."
"I assumed he would be busy," she said.
Adam was taken back by the tone in her voice. She sounded scared. But that would be understandable for the situation they were in, but they didn't assume that the daughter of Maleficent and Hades would be so timid.
"Hello, Mallory," Belle said as she took a step toward Mal. "I am Queen Belle, and this is Jane," she said as she gestured to Jane. "ane is the daughter of the Fairy Godmother, and she offered to be your lady in waiting."
"That won't…"
"I volunteered before they even sent out applications," Jane said. "I thought that you would feel more comfortable having a fairy friend."
Mal gave the brunette a smile, and a small nod.
"Now," Belle said as she gestured toward the inside of the castle. "Why don't we…" she started, but stopped when they heard a loud crash.
Adam, Belle, and Jane hurried toward the crash, with Mal following behind them. They heard a groan and a laugh coming from the library, and when they opened the big double doors, Ben was lying on the floor, with an empty crystal glass next to him.
"Ben," Belle said as she walked up to him. "Have you been drinking?" she asked as she picked up the glass and sniffed the inside.
Mal stood in the doorway, and out of sight from the prince.
"Well," he slurred. "I don't see another way I am going to make the rest of my life feel numb," he said as he tried to get up. "I'm going to have to do it drunk," he said as he stretched his arms up. "So, when is my evil monster fiance going to be here?"
Mal covered her mouth in shock at the prince's words. She knew that this was not the ideal situation, but she didn't expect him to think so low of her before meeting her.
"Jane, dear," Belle said as she glared at her son. "Will you please show the princess to her room? I need to have a talk with Ben."
Jane led Mal away from the royal family, and started to lead her upstairs.
"I'm sorry you had to see him like that, Mallory," Jane said as they walked up the stairs. "He is never like this."
"Well, to quote him, he's marrying an evil monster," she said as Jane led her down a corridor of the east wing.
"He's just upset about the situation, and everything that happened last night with Princess Audrey."
"Who is Princess Audrey?"
"Ben's, now, ex-girlfriend," Jane said. "She's rather attached because she is in love with Ben, and by that I mean she is in love with the idea of being queen."
"I see," Mal said. "And who are her parents?"
"King Phillip and Queen Aurora."
"Oh, so she is definitely not a fan of mine," she said as Jane stopped at a pair of big double doors.
"She's not anyone's biggest fan," Jane said as she opened the door. "Here we are."
They walked in and the room was spacious with high ceilings. It was painted a soft powder blue with gold trimmings. There was a large bed with the head against the wall, there was a desk against the other wall, a giant television mounted on the wall, and two doors that lead to the closet and bathroom.
"This is big," Mal said.
"Fit for a queen," Jane said as she opened the curtains to the balcony.
Mal walked over to the balcony and saw the beautiful forest. The trees were large and green, making her miss home.
"I thought that you might like this room because of the view," Jane said as she walked up to Mal. "But, we can switch rooms if you would like."
"No," Mal said, shaking her head. "It's fine, I'm just remembering my friends and family back home."
There was a knock at the door, making both girls turn to see Belle standing in the doorway.
"I am sorry about that, Princess Mallory," she said as she closed the door behind her. "Ben is not normally like that, and Adam is taking care of him."
"It's okay," Mal said. "And please, no princess or Mallory. You can call me Mal."
"That's beautiful," Belle said with a smile. "I just wanted to sincerely apologize for everything that is happening. Never in a million years would I ever want Ben or anyone to be betrothed," she said. "But this will be good for our kingdoms. From your mother's letters I could tell that things have changed."
"I don't understand what you mean by changed," Mal said as she crossed her arms. "You Auradonians think that every villain is evil, but my mother is the farthest thing from evil," she said.
"Didn't she curse Aurora?"
"And the kingdom of Auroria?"
"Aurora, yes. The kingdom, no," Mal said. "Cursing Aurora was evil, but as years went on she grew to regret it. The day before Aurora's 16th birthday, my mother tried to lift the curse she placed, but it didn't work," she said. "But I guess there are two sides to every story."
Belle and Jane looked taken back at the words. That wasn't what they were told by King Stefan.
"My mother has only ever done two evil acts," Mal said. "For one, Aurora's curse. For two, my middle name," Mal said with a chuckle. "Who gives their daughter 'Bertha' as a middle name?"
"It's a lovely name," Belle said.
"It's embarrassing," Mal said as she turned to look at the queen.
"I didn't know that was Maleficent's side of the story," Jane said.
"Well, who are you going to believe? The fae who cursed a baby? Or the king?" Mal asked.
She had a point. After their kingdoms United, no one ever talked about their tales. Maybe they should talk with Queen Aurora about this.
"Would you like to go down for lunch?" Belle asked. "You must be famished after the long drive."
"Would you be offended if I had my meal up here?" Mal asked. "I know your son is not happy about our situation, but he seems rather vocal while he is drunk."
"He won't be there," she informed. "Adam is talking with him, and he will not make an appearance until his head is on straight."
Mal was hesitant at first, but she had to agree to go. She couldn't be rude. She nodded her head, before taking off her cloak and placing it on the bed. She straightened out her dress and followed Belle and Jane out of the room.
"We did not raise you to act this way!" They heard Adam yell as he came walking out of a room. "When you get your shit together, and when you can act like a proper prince, is when you can come out!" He shouted before he slammed the door. He saw the three ladies standing in the hallway, looking at him in shock. "I don't know what has gotten into your son," he said as he pointed to Belle.
"Maybe it's his temper that he gets from you," she said as she pointed back at him. "As I recall, you weren't that welcoming to me either when you first met me," she said before she took Mal and Jane's hands before walking past her husband.
"That is fascinating," Adam said. "I didn't know all of the resources you had in the Moors."
"Yeah," Mal said as she ate another one of the red barriers that were in the bowl in front of her. "We have many resources. We are a community who work together to make our home a livable place for everyone."
"What do you do for fun?" Jane asked.
"I like to…"
"Cast spells on the creatures of the moors," a voice said as they walked into the dining room.
They turned to see Ben walking in, and he was rubbing his eyes. Mal looked at him with furrowed eyebrows as he walked over to the table and poured himself a glass of water.
"Rain terror on everyone she meets," he continued. "She probably even…" he said as he turned, but stopped when he saw the girl sitting next to his friend. She was beautiful, and she was nothing like he had ever seen. Her skin looked as soft as satin, and her hair was shiny and full. "Who is that?" He asked, pointing to the girl.
"Ben," Belle said as she looked at her son and gave him a pointed look. "It's very nice of you to join us. This is Mal. The princess of the Moors."
"No, it's not," he said as he sat down.
"What is that supposed to mean?" Mal asked with a scowl on her face.
"Well, what I mean," he said as he looked across the table to her. "Is that the princess of the Moors is a monster."
"I am very pleased to inform you that I am not a monster," she said as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Fine," he said. "If you are the princess of the Moors," he said as he stood from his seat with his glass in his hand. "What spell are you using to hide your hideous features?"
"I beg your pardon?" She asked as she stood from her seat to glare at the tall prince. "My what?"
"You know what I'm talking about," he said as he scoffed in her face.
"Ben," Adam said in a warning tone.
"You're hiding what you truly look like to make you look more appealing to Auradon," he said as he stepped closer to her.
"Benjamin!" Belle scolded as she stood from her seat.
"And I'll prove it to all of you," he said before he threw his glass of water in Mal's face.
"Ben!" Belle gasped as she hurried over to mal.
Ben stood there waiting for the enchanted lake water he switched to work it's magic, but it didn't. He stared at the girl in shock as his mother helped her wipe the off her face and clothes.
"What the hell, Ben?" Jane asked as she shoved Ben.
"What is wrong with you?" Adam asked.
"I don't understand," he said. "The water was supposed to work."
"What are you talking about?" Belle asked as she looked at her son.
"I replaced the water with enchanted lake water," he said. "It was supposed…"
"You what?!" Adam exclaimed.
"The water," he said in shock.
He looked at the girl again and saw her glaring at him. Her purple hair was wet, her eyes were red, and her cheeks were flushed.
"I am…" he started, but stopped when she held her hand up to him.
"Save it, your majesty," she said with venom in her voice.
She tried to walk past him, but he grabbed on to her arm, making her scream.
"AAAAHHHHHHHH!" Mal screamed at the top of her lungs.
She yanked her hand out of Ben's hold, and brought her arm close to her. She was groaning in pain as she clutched her arm. Jane ran over to Mal to see what was wrong, leaving Ben standing there scared and confused.
"I didn't do anything," he said as he held his hands up.
Belle walked over to Mal, but Jane stopped her.
"Can I see?" Jane asked.
Mal slowly brought her arm away from her chest, and showed Jane the burn mark that was now in Mal's arm.
"You're burned," she said. "Let's get you.."
"How did she get burned?" Ben asked.
Jane looked at Ben and saw the ring on his finger. She turned to put Mal's arm around her shoulder for support, before turning back to Ben.
"Iron burns fairies, you idiot," she said before helping Mal out of the dining room and upstairs.
Once they were out of sight, Adam and Belle turned back to Ben.
"I thought I told you not to come down until you were going to act properly," Adam said as he scolded his son.
"And you know that iron burns fairies," Belle said. "That's why we don't wear iron or keep it around the castle."
"I know," he said as he stared at his crest ring.
He had been wearing this ring since he was 13 years old. It was a gift from his father, and he rarely ever took it off.
"That ring is made of gold," Adam said. "So, why did it burn Mal."
Ben took the ring off, and examined it. He had given Jane and the Fairy Godmother millions of hugs over the years, and he had never burned them. He remembered that his family name was engraved on the inside of it, but this one did not have the engraving. He walked to the fireplace, lit a match, and threw the ring into the growing fire.
"That is not my ring," he said as he watched the ring melt.
He then started to remember his fight with Audrey over the phone, after he walked out of his dad's office. He told her what was going on, and she did not take the news well. He tried to tell her that it was for the good of the kingdom, but he was actually happy to be getting out of the relationship. He grew tired of her complaining on the phone, and hung up. Later that night, Audrey showed up pissed. She and Ben were yelling at each other for what felt like hours, which led him to start drinking. He passed out on the couch in the library, and didn't remember her leaving.
"Audrey knows about Princess Mallory," he said. "And she knows who she is the daughter of."
"You think Audrey did this?" Belle asked.
"I don't see any other way my ring could have gone missing," he said. "I started to drink when we were fighting, and I passed out on the couch," he explained. "She could have done it then. Because I would never wear iron to hurt a fairy."
"Well," Adam said as he looked down at Ben. "It looks like this incident sobered you up."
"You have an apology to make," Belle said, making Ben look at his mom with furrowed eyebrows. "Mal is a wonderful girl. She has been here for only two hours, and she is just as sweet and kind as Jane, but she is snarky," she added with a chuckle. "I like that about her."
Ben nodded his head. He may not like the situation they were in, but he did owe her an apology for hurting her.
"I'll go up and apologize," he said as he jogged out of the room, and up the stairs.
Ben jogged all the way to the east wing on the castle. He didn't know what room she was in, but he found it pretty fast when he hurt someone yelling from one of the rooms.
"I'm sorry," he heard Jane say from the other side of the door.
"It's not your fault," Mal told her. "My godling side will heal it faster, but I'm just glad that he didn't burn me enough to break the skin."
He knocked on the door, and Jane walked over to open it.
"What do you want?" Jane asked with a scowl.
"I came to apologize," Ben said as he ran a hand through his hair. "I promise."
Jane gave him a pointed look before moving to let him in. He walked in and saw Mal sitting in a chair by the desk. She had a bunch of herbs and oils, and was mixing them into a small bowl.
"What can I do for you, your grace?" She asked with a snarky tone and as she continued to mix the herbs and oils.
"I came to see if you were okay," he said.
"Why would you care?" She asked. "You sure made your feelings about me clear."
"Yeah," he said. "About that…"
"Jane?" Mal asked as she looked over at Jane. "Do you know if the castle has any bandage wraps? I need to get this mixture on before my arm scars."
"I'll be back in just a moment," she said as she walked out of the room, leaving Ben and Mal alone.
"Okay," she said as she turned her attention to him. "I understand that this is not the ideal situation for either of us," she told him. "But I would appreciate it if you would not burn me, call me evil, or a monster."
"I…"
"I know you hate me," she said, cutting him off. "And I could give two shits. I don't want to be here, just like you don't want me here, but we're stuck," she told him as she stood up from her seat. "I am willing to play the role in the public eye for the sake of Auradon and the Moors, but behind closed doors, we can go back to hating each other," she said, making him look at her in shock.
He didn't know that she would be this aggressive, but he deserved it. He was an ass when she arrived, and she honestly didn't deserve it.
"After we are married, we are obviously going to have to share a room," she said, making him focus on her words. "But I will sleep on the floor, a couch, or even a chair. I'll play the role of your 'Queen'," she said as she started to take steps in his direction. "But if you think for one minute that you are going to walk all over me, you are sadly mistaken, because I am one fae you do not want to fuck with," she said, making his swallow the lump in his throat.
Jane walked in a couple of minutes later with a couple rolls of bandages in her hands.
"Now," Mal said as she gave him a cheeky smile. "If you will, please, excuse me. I have to wrap my arm."
She walked away from him and took one of the wraps from Jane. She unwound it, before rubbing the mixture onto her burn.
"Jane, can you help me wrap it?" Mal asked as she held the bandage up to her.
"I can try," Jane said as she walked over to Mal.
Ben watched as Jane tried to wrap Mal's arm, and was doing it completely wrong.
"May I?" Ben asked as he took a step toward them.
Mal took in a breath before giving him a nod. He walked over and was about to take her arm into his grasp when she pulled her arm away.
"You don't have any iron on do you?" she asked.
"No," he said, shaking his head. "That was not my ring, and I threw it in the fireplace."
"Why?"
"Because my family doesn't wear iron," he said as he started to wrap Mal's arm. "We know burn fairies, and we never wanted to hurt Jane or the Fairy Godmother."
"Only the fairy you are forced to marry," Mal said as he finished wrapping her arm.
"I know, when you arrived, I was a…"
"Drunken asshole?" Mal said.
"In not so nice terms, yes," he said. "You weren't what I was expecting, when I thought of the villains," he told her.
"You were expecting a monster then?" she asked.
"So much for first impressions," he said with a small smile.
Mal actually chuckled, making Ben smile a little bit bigger. Maybe he was wrong about everything. Maybe he was spending too much time with Audrey and Chad to think clearly. Mal didn't seem evil, and he could feel that she wasn't.
"I know you said that we could go back to hating each other, but I feel like I got off on the wrong foot," he said. "Maybe we can get to know each other, and maybe we can get along."
Mal gave him a curious look, before looking back at Jane who was shaking her head and laughing. She looked up at Ben and gave him a nod. He smiled before taking a step back, and straightened his posture, making Mal look at him weird.
"Hello," he said as he bowed to her. "I am Prince Benjamin of Auradon. It is very nice to meet you, Princess Mallory of the Moors." he said as he took her hand and placed a kiss on it.
"Oh, Gods," Mal said with a loud laugh. "Is he always like this, Jane?"
"Proper and nice?" she asked. "Yes. This is my big brother Ben. I don't know who the hell that Ben impersonator was five hours ago."
"He was what happened when too much happened on one day," he said. "And the next day…" he added. "I am sorry for the way I acted this afternoon. I should have been better, and I promise that I will not walk over you," he said, making Mal look at him with raised eyebrows. "You may be small, but you are kind of scary when you're mad," he said before giving her a smile.
She shook her head and laughed. Maybe this wouldn't be as horrible as she thought. Maybe she and him could get along. She would try if he would. She just had to make sure, and prove, to every other person in Auradon that she wasn't evil.
Okay! Let me know what you think!
Until next time my lovies! xoxo GM
