Emma came out of the bathroom, turning of the light. Now it was only the silver glow of the moon lighten up the bedroom.

Silently she slid under the blanket, feeling the warm body besides her lying still and unmoving in the large four-poster bed.

"Hey."

Brennan turned on his side, putting an arm around Emma's waist, pulling her close, using her shoulder as a pillow.

"Can't sleep, Pet?"

Emma felt the nod more than she saw it.

"It was a hard day. Adam demanded a lot of us today, didn't he? What can I do to help you fall asleep, hmm?"

Brennan's voice was barely a whisper when he answered.

"Sing something for me, a love song. Not any song but the one song from all the love songs in the world you would choose for me."

Emma was quiet for a while. Her hand played languidly with Brennan's short hair.

Minutes ticked away and when Brennan had almost given up hope for an answer, Emma started singing in a sweet voice meant only for her lover.

Emma finished the song. Her hand still played with Brennan's hair. Deep, soft breezing was all the answer she needed to hear. She smiled into the dark of the night, leaning into Brennan's warm embrace and closed her eyes.

She would never stop loving him.
