Part 1: Betrayed
Lelouch sat alone in his room on board the Ikaruga. He looked down with his face in his right hand as he thought back to the loss at the battle in Tokyo, "Nunnally," he thought remembering when the flare Suzaku fired went off. Jeremiah was still searching for her, but he knew that she was gone.
"Master," C 2, still with her memory's lost said.
"Please leave me alone for now," he said without looking up when he heard the sound of the door opening.
"Okay ill leave the two of you alone," C2 said as she walked out of the room leaving a confused Kallen behind.
"What happened while I was gone," Kallen said looking serious.
"She lost her memories when I went to confront the emperor, I don't know if they'll ever come back," Lelouch said without still looking up.
"I haven't seen him this bad since after he tried to save Nunnally," Kallen said before looking at him worried, "I cant imagine how he must be feeling now,".
"I'm sorry it took us so long to get you back," Lelouch said, "At least I saw able to save her," he thought.
"Ohgi and others want to meet in the Hangar, they sent me to get you," Kallen said.
"Well I better not keep them waiting," Lelouch said reaching for his zero mask before Kallen spoke up.
"No they can wait," Kallen said sitting next to him and putting the mask down making him look confused.
"But," Lelouch said before she held his hand.
"If they knew who you were I'm sure they'd understand," Kallen said, "She was very kind to me when I was locked up," she said remembering her chats with Lelouch's sister when she was captured.
"How am I suppose to keep fighting, I was to make this world a peaceful place for her," Lelouch said before putting his face in his hand, "No matter what I do, I fail when it really matters," he said looking frustrated.
"Stop it," Kallen said now holding his hand with both of hers, "I know what its like to lose someone important, but we have to keep fighting them no mater what," she said looking sad.
Lelouch noticed her look and sat up, "I'm sorry you have to see me like this again, you always were there for me," he said smiling a little.
Kallen blushed a little, "Well of course I'm the leader of zero squad," she said looking away.
"Kallen," Lelouch said smiling.
"Lelouch, I know this might not be the right time, but since were here I have to ask, what am I to you," she said making him look surprised.
"Kallen you've been most loyal to zero and me even after you discovered the the truth about me and honestly Ive come to care about you a lot," Lelouch said, "I cant lose anyone else I love," he said making her look surprised.
"Wait does that mean," she said as she leaned her face close to his.
"Indeed Q1," Lelouch said smiling before noticing how close the two of them were. They leaned closer before Kallens communicator went off.
"Its probably Ohgi," Lelouch said before picking up his mask and standing up, "We can continue this later Kallen," he said smiling under his mask.
Kallen smiled, "Ill hold you to that," she said before the two of them left the room and headed to the hangar.
What the two of them didn't expect when they got out of the hangar was their allies aiming rifles at them along with Knightmares, "Its over Zero we know all about who you are and your geass," Ohgi said from the railing.
"Its over, were completely surrounded, what do I do," Lelouch thought looking annoyed before noticing someone standing near the entrance, "Schneizel, so this is you move and your calling check," he thought.
"Wait think about what your doing, look how far we've come because of Zero," Kallen said standing in front of Lelouch with her arms out.
"Get out of the way Kallen, or do you want to die with him," Tamaki said.
"Don't tell me he used his geass on you too," Ohgi said.
"Lelouch," Kallen whispered looking back at him.
"If theres anything I can do left, its making sure she gets out of here safely," Lelouch thought reaching for his mask. During this Schneizel thought back back to what he told his soldiers earlier.
Flashback:
"Your saying he used his geass on the pilot of the Guren," Cornelia said. The memebers of the black knights had already left the room.
"Yes, it would explain her loyalty to him," he said. But he knew if she lived she would be a great threat to him, "So if she tries anything I want you to shoot her as well," he said.
The soldiers then nodded before they headed to the hangar.
Flashback end
"Fire," Schneizel said and the briannina soldiers fired at Kallen making Lelouch look shocked as he watched the woman he loves fall to the ground.
"KALLEN," he and Ohgi yelled.
"It was obvious he used his geass on her, why else would she try to protect him," Schneizel said.
"Schneizel," Lelouch said before one of the black knights shot at him and he clutched a hand to his chest as he looked angrily up at his comrades.
"That's for tricking us," the soldier.
"For your information I didn't have to use the power on any of you, but so be it," Lelouch said before taking off the lens on his eyes revealing the symbol, "Kill Schneizel," he said before Ohgi fired at the prince. Killing him.
"No need," he said before Lelouch fell to the ground and the Britannian soldiers and black knights began to fight. Lelouch looked up seeing Kallen reaching her hand out to him.
"HELP, ANYBODY SHES STILL ALIVE," Lelouch yelled but all he heard was gun fire from around the ship. He pushed himself towards Kallen and held her up.
"Lelouch," she said weakily with blood coming out of her mouth.
"Hang on, youll make it," he said, "Please I cant let her die too," he thought.
"Its fine, there are worse ways to go, Im glad you told me how you felt," Kallen said smiling with tears in her eyes.
"Kallen," Lelouch said looking saddened.
"I love you Lelouch, I may have followed Zero but I fell for you," she said putting her right hand on his face. Lelouchs tears finally started falling, "I only wish we had more time together,".
"Please no," Lelouch said before Kallen used the last of her strength and kissed him on the lips. "This cant be how it ends," he thought before the two of them looked each other in the eye. But then the geass in Lelouchs eye glowed and the next thing the both of them saw was a bright light.
When Lelouchs opened his eyes next he looked surprised by the world around him. There were stars and it looked like he was in space. "Where am I," he thought before noticing his bullet holes were gone.
"Lelouch," Kallen said from next to him. Lelouch looked surprised to see her wounds were gone as well.
"Kallen," Lelouch said before Kallen ran to him and hugged him, "Were alive," he said.
"Yes but what is this place," Kallen said.
"A place outside of time," a male voice said getting their attention. They looked to see someone in a white robe. But Lelouch noticed the geass symbol on his forehead like C2's.
"Are you a geass wielder," Lelouch said.
"Something like that, but I kept my geass while being able to make contracts Lelouch Vi Britannia," he said.
"Are you like C2," Kallen said.
"No, unlike her and V2 I don't exist in you world, my geass could let me see the other geass wielders and what they were doing," he said, "But that's just one of my ability's, I can take away other codes," he said.
"You mean like the emperors," Lelouch said.
"Correct, but like I said I can still give contracts, but many years ago I learned to take away a persons geass as well, but kept my own to keep an eye what others with do with the power," he said.
"But I couldn't stop any of them, or prevent the accident with your half sister princess Euphemia," he said.
"Accident," Kallen said looking at Lelouch.
"I said the wrong thing to her when I explained my geass power to her," Lelouch said.
"Kill all the Japanese," Kallen said and Lelouch nodded.
"Its not his fault ms Kozuki, he didn't know his geass had reached that point," the male voice said.
"So that's why you wore the lens," Kallen said.
"Yes," Lelouch said before Kallen made him look at her, "Its not your fault, it's the power," she said.
"Your right, if only I had trusted the others more, maybe this wouldn't have happened," Lelouch said.
"No you had to stay safe, who knows what the others would have done if you had been a prince," Kallen said.
"It would probably be safe to tell your comrades, but better not to tell the public," the man said.
"So why are we here," Lelouch said looking serious.
"Thanks to your connection to effect your geass had on Kallen, I was able to bring you here," the man said.
"So you did use geass on me," Kallen said looking at Lelouch.
"He was only confirming your were the soldier he met," the man said.
"Hes right, after all you said you fell for me," Lelouch said smiling.
"Uh, don't bring that up now," Kallen said looking annoyed while blushing.
"Its nice to see you found love, but now for the arrangement," the man said before walking forward, "I can send you back in time through your connection, but this is only going to happen once," he said.
"Wait what about you," Kallen said.
"This will be it for me, the powers I will give to the two of you will take the last of my energy and I will be gone," he said.
"But theres gotta be something we can do," Lelouch said.
"Its fine, ive live long long enough and at least this way I can do something for the world," he said before sounding serious, "But the two of you must stop the emperor and Marianne from completing the Ragnarok connection, otherwise everyone will lose their freedom,".
"Wait how is my mother involved in this," Lelouch said looking confused.
"Like the emperor she also had a geass that allowed her to move to another body, the Knight of the round Anya," he said, "V2 was the one who shot her but she escaped," he said.
"Does she agree with what my father planned," Lelouch said looking down.
"Yes," the man said calmly.
"Lelouch," Kallen said looking worried. Knowing they would to go up against his mother as well.
"If shes with him then Ill just have to face her too," Lelouch said looking serious.
"We understand, we accept the arrangement," he said, "Are you with me Q1," he said holding his hand out to Kallen.
Kallen looked surprised before holding his hand looking determined, "Yes, Lelouch," she said making him smile.
The man put his hand on Lelouchs forehead and another geass symbol appeared in his left eye, "You power will be at its fullest but ive given you some more power, you can cancel out geass along with removing others and codes," he said.
"Thank you, I will make sure to use it well," Lelouch said.
"Wait you still haven't told us how long will be sent back," Kallen said.
"Isn't it obvious, from when the connection was first formed," the man said.
"So when I used geass on her," Lelouch thought.
"This way you can save Euphemia along with many others," the man said before almost falling over.
"Are you okay," Kallen said.
"Don't worry, giving him those powers took a lot out of me, but I can still do one more," he said before placing his hand on Kallens forehead. A geass symbol appeared in her left eye.
"Unlike Lelouch your geass will still be at first stage so it will be easier to conceal, but do be careful," he said.
"What does it do anyway?" Kallen asked looking confused.
"You will need your allies for the battles ahead of you, your geass will give them the memories they had from the time you two came from," he said.
"We cant Jeremiah on our side with this," Lelouch said.
"Right, I also want a few words with Ohgi and the others about betraying you," Kallen said looking angry.
"Everything is ready, this is your only chance to make things right so good luck," the man said.
"We understand," Lelouch said looking calm.
"Thank you for saving us," Kallen said looking determined.
"Good luck," the man said before holding up his hand and Kallen and Lelouch vanished. "Its up to you now," he said before looking down and vanishing. Leaving everything to the two of them.
