To Prove of A Witch
They walked her up and down, Mud gets on her dress.
Her feet all bloody, She does not confess.
They pricked her sides, left her in a ditch.
They tried other ways to prove she was a witch.
She fought, she kicked, hid not to be found.
But they found her, gagged, her and fed her to the hounds.
They found another. Her screams made glass break.
They bound her at the feet and threw her into a lake.
If she floats, a witch she has become.
But if she drowns they'll be founded dumb.
Many screamed and cried.
She wasn't a witch that's why she died.
Yet another was found. In the lake she does float.
They brought her to the gallows and tied a rope 'round her throat.
