Hey everyone this is my first fanfic ever so I would love the feedback and suggestions are always welcome. I will try my best to make it good, I'm warning you now most chapters might be long especially because in true OUAT style there will be flashbacks. Obviously this is a major character death so it will be very angsty (if that is even a word). There might also not be a lot of action or actual plot in the beginning but I will keep it interesting I promise. I will let you guys know some good background music you can listen to at the beginning of some chapters where it applies because I feel that adds more to the story. Now I don't wanna be one of those people with super long A/Ns so let's get on with the story. ENJOY! -
It's finally here, the night of the final battle. Emma Swan, the savior, is standing in the middle of the street, sword in hand, ready to fight the battle of her life. Her family is all there, her son, parents, friend, enemy, and her newly wedded husband. They are watching in suspense as the so long feared battle unfolds in front of their eyes.
Killian watches helplessly as his one true love fights for her life against Gideon. He can't bear the thought of it but he knows better than anyone that this could only end up one of two ways, she wins or she looses. He wants desperately to help her but he can't, he knows this is her battle to fight, and if anyone can do it it's her. The odds are pointing to Emma winning, all she has to do is get one good swing and end this for good, one good swing and they can have the life they've always wanted. But then he sees something that makes his thought clench up in fear, he sees her drop her sword, and everything starts running in slow motion. "What is she doing, she is going to get herself killed" he thought to himself. Usually Emma was right when it came to these things, but this time he wasn't willing to risk it, there would be no coming back from this if it goes the wrong way. Emma is his life, his reason to wake up in the morning, the light in his dark, dark, soul, if she dies he might as well die too. Suddenly nothing else matters, he doesn't care if this is her battle, he doesn't care if he dies, he doesn't care that he doesn't have a plan, he doesn't care about anything, anything but his Swan. "Emma!" he yells running up to save her, but David puts a firm hand on his chest, his eyes not leaving the sight of his daughter, and stops Killian from saving his love.
Henry tries to save his mom too, but Regina grabs his arm and pulls him back before he does something stupid. He knows this is not how the story ends, she has to live, they have to have a happy ending, but deep down there is this gut-wrenching fear. And with every second that goes by he fears it will turn into reality. Both Henry and Killian are struggling to get Emma, Regina and David using all their strength to hold them back. No one dares to take their eyes off Emma, scared they will miss something.
Emma knows what she is doing, before she started fighting Regina told her that the way she gets out this would be by doing something no one saw coming. That's exactly what she is doing, she didn't even see it coming herself until she was doing it, but she can see clearly now that this is the only way. She knew this was a possibility every time she went out into battle, but this time death is right at her doorstep, but she is not afraid, she knows this is what she has to do to save everyone, to save her family. All she could do was hope they understood, that they knew why she dropped the sword, that they knew she wasn't giving up, that she was making the ultimate sacrifice. "I was hoping you would save us both" Gideon said, if only he knew that she was. Emma gave one last smile before he stabbed her with his sword.
Everyone stared in shock as light exploded from Emma, no one knew what was going on, did they win or did they loose? Killian was in complete shock he couldn't move, he couldn't speak, he couldn't think, all he could do was stare at the light pouring out of his love. It was as if everything he had worked for was falling apart right in front of him and there was absolutely nothing he could do. Henry was in denial, this couldn't be how it ended, right? It doesn't work that way there is always a happy ending. He was thinking up any excuse, any explanation that would prove that his mom is still going to be alive. The truth is he just couldn't loose her, he just found her. Bothe her parents were numb, they didn't understand what was going on, they didn't want to understand, all they wanted was for their daughter to be okay. The light then faded and reveled Gideon to be gone and Emma to be lying on the floor lifeless.
Henry is the first to move, he frees himself from Regina's grasp and runs to his mother. He kneels beside her on the cold pavement and starts trying to shake her awake. "Please, please, wake up mom, please!" he yelled hoping that she would hear him and do as he says. "You promised me, you promised me this wasn't gonna happen!" he sobbed as he put pressure on her stab wound gushing red with blood, but it did nothing, she was already dead. Regina came up behind him and started to pull him away from the body, "please, I need you" he kept saying as he was being pulled away by his other mom. Regina hugged him tightly and cradled him in her arms like when he was a baby in efforts to calm him down.
Killian finally was able to move as he ran toward his wife's dead body. "Love?" he whispered as he ran his hand through her blond hair. "No, no, no, no" he said over and over again as he also tried to stop the bleeding in her stomach but once again, it was useless. He had just lost another one of his love's and and the pain he felt was suffocating. He just held her body as close to his as possible and cried into her chest, now hollow without the familiar beating off her heart. His entire world had just fallen on him and was crushing him with an unbearable weight, he lifted his head up and screamed in pain, he screamed until his voice was gone and then continued to cry into his Swan's neck stroking her hair whispering "I'm sorry" over and over again into her ear. She had been sucked into the twisted tale of saviors, what can he say, fate is cruel.
/Two Weeks Later/
Henry sat on his moms old bed in his grandparents loft reading comic books. He had been living there for the past three days because he and Regina were not on speaking terms and he didn't really have anywhere else to go. He hated it there because it reminded him about his mom and when she first came into his life. But he pretended not to care, it wasn't that bad anyways because he hardly talked to his grandparents. David had been working like crazy and would get home late ant night and leave early in the morning, Snow would just stay at home all day and do nothing but cry and take care of the baby. He heard someone walk in and then some arguing followed by heavy footsteps, he looked up and saw that they belonged to non other that Captain Hook.
Killian had not been seen for the past two weeks, he had been in his ship drinking nothing but rum. Henry just stared at him, unsure what to say, Killian looked awful, but to be honest so did Henry. "Hey lad" Killian said, "Look, I know you don't want to deal with anything right now, okay neither do I." Killian sat on the bed in front of Henry, "I'm going to ask you something, but you don't have to agree if you don't want to." Henry was becoming more worried and intrigued about what the pirate had to say. "Okay, here it goes. Lad, if you're up for it, and you want to, would you like to move in with me?"
Omg! I finished the first chapter. I'm really happy with how this came out but I wanna know what you guys think. Any ideas on what happens next? Anyway thank you for reading this chapter I will be updating soon. :)
