Prologue

Mount Olympus:

In her personal chamber, a furious Hera paced about. The source of her frustration was down on Earth, specifically on the American west coast.

She was watching that fool Apollo finally see why attacking the fleet of Emperor Caligula with just three demigods was a bad idea as he and Piper Mclean were completely surrounded by Pandai archers while Jason Grace fought Caligula.

Hera didn't need the ability to see the future to know that Jason Grace was going to die.

The boy was riddled with arrows shot by Pandai and he had exhausted a lot of his power to rip Caligula's ship apart.

And watching him fight while surrounded by enemies, Hera could feel nothing but pity.

Despite being another one of the many products of her husband's infidelity, he'd been offered to her by Zeus as a sign of peace.

Hera had initially been enraged at her husband's audacity to have yet another bastard and then try to shamelessly pacify her. But her glee at finally having Zeus on her fingertips won over and she accepted his newly born son.

She liked that his name had been Jason, after her favorite who overcome the trials and obstacles presented through him without having a strong concentration of divinity in him and decided to raise him as her champion, guiding him to be raised by Lupa's wolves and emerge as the champion of the Roman demigods just how Percy Jackson was of the Greek ones.

It all worked well. Despite starting out as a part of the 'cursed' fifth cohort, Jason went on to perform many impressive feats surpassing that of heroes before him. Retrieving Bacchus' leopard from Sonoma, seeking out her mother Rhea, slaying the Trojan sea monster, holding back the monster hordes coming from Mount Tam and of course, leading the siege on Othrys, slaying the Titan Krios and destroying Kronos' obsidian throne.

Even in the Gigatomachia, he accomplished feats such as fighting and bringing down Enceladus, Porphyrion and Polydectes, albeit with godly help, yet he also managed to restrain Gaia with the domain of Ouranos so that Leo Valdez could make his sacrifice and destroy the Earth's mother's physical form.

And after all of that, he was going to die because of Apollo's stupidity. And also with some partial meddling of the fates.

Hera was silent as Jason lost focus and looked at Apollo. Heroes died for stupid reasons, especially those of Greece. Heracles died because his wife was gullible, Achilles died because Paris decided to grow a spine and get one lucky shot, the original Jason died because his own ship's plow fell on his head and killed him. Some of the more recent ones such as Silena Beauregard died because of the petty tantrums of Clarisse La Rue.

It seemed Jason would join this list as well. Yet, Hera found herself unable to accept that this is how her champion would meet her end.

So, when Caligula's spear pierced his chest, Hera stretched out her arm and tugged.

Immediately, Jason appeared on her bed, bleeding all over it as he had lost consciousness. Hera looked at his wound and sighed in relief. The spear had just missed his heart. Hera fed him ambrosia and quickly healed his wounds.

I saved him… She thought. But while she was happy at the outcome, concern set in as Hera realized the consequences of her interference.

She'd put herself in trouble by saving Jason. Hades will be angry that someone stole a soul from him, and Zeus will be angry a god interfered in Apollo's mission. While she could handle Zeus since technically, she did not help Apollo, but Hades will be a problem.

Her chamber had strong enchantments that hid whatever went on in the interior from prying eyes, so she had time before Hades could find him.

However, she was in a dilemma. If she kept him here on Olympus, someone will notice. Most likely Athena, who'll go to Zeus straight away and tell him which will reach Hades' ears. If she sent him back to Earth, Hades will claim his soul and her interference would be for nothing.

But what if Jason wasn't put on any of these worlds. Hera thought with a smile as she remembered a distant memory.

Shortly after the first Titanomachia, two foreign gods descended on the world to establish their rule. Of course, having recently won over Kronos, Zeus had no intention of sharing his territory and Olympus fought with the two foreign gods in 30,000 BCE in what was known as the Skótosmachia.

During that time, Olympus' armies clashed with forces of the two gods, which consisted of the Skótos Thēría, beasts of darkness which lacked a soul, and the Lúkē Ánthropoi, humanoid beings of pure light with silver eyes that could contend with Apollo's brightness.

However, despite the large size of this army of light and darkness, Olympus had much stronger beings among its armies. The Skótos Thēría were crushed by Hades and Poseidon as Hades' undead armies cut through the beasts while Poseidon's sea creatures dwarfed even the largest of these beasts and swallowed them whole. Zeus, Helios and Selene took on the Lúkē Ánthropoi, the divine humanoids being unable to contend against the power of the two titans and the King of Olympus.

Her role in the war had been limited, although she did have the pleasure of annihilating forces of Skótos Thēría at some point of time.

Eventually, the war ended with Zeus striking down the two foreign gods after a hard battle and banished them from the planet. Zeus kept the Skótosmachia a secret, and had all the remaining Titans and gods swear an oath on the Styx to not breathe a word about this, in fear that this knowledge could be exploited by the scattered forces of Kronos.

As for the foreign gods, from what Hera heard they wandered the cosmos until settling down in a planet they made along with their own version of the human race, before abandoning that planet as well whose humans were left in the mercy of those same beasts.

Hera looked back at Jason.

Those humans would need help. And what better help than one who carries the blood of Olympus, that drove off their cruel gods and annihilated armies of the same beasts that threaten them?

Hera made her decision. Jason's story on Earth was over. But, he wasn't dead. So, he shall embark on a new journey in a different world.

She placed roman armor on his body and an imperial gold spear before materializing his mount Tempest which looked around in confusion.

"Now, I let go of you. I give you my blessing, that you will find a better life in this new world, as the savior and champion of humanity. Make me proud, Jason." Hera spoke before closing her eyes and chanting in ancient tongue.

Jason's and Tempest's bodies began glowing as Hera continued her chant. Once she finished, the two disappeared in a flash.

Hera opened her eyes and exhaled. There was no way her chamber had managed to hide a ritual of this magnitude. She had only a few seconds at best before Zeus came in demanding an explanation.

And soon enough, she could hear the rumble of thunder and the smell of Ozone right outside her door.

Good luck, Jason. Hera thought as she went to face her husband's anger, as Jason and his mount spirited away to the world known as Remnant.

Remnant itself was in a tense situation. It had been a few months since Beacon academy fell and Headmaster Ozpin was killed.

The Fall of Beacon had sent ripples, as Atlas closed its borders and cut itself from the rest of the world in light of Anti-atlesian sentiments developing because of the supposed 'killings' conducted by Atlesian soldiers on the students in the Vytal broadcast.

In Vacuo, Shade academy was gradually losing authority as people questioned the credibility of their huntsman protectors and tribes began rallying under the leadership of Vacuo's fallen monarchy that has returned in the form of the Crown.

Mistral is in chaos as Argus closes its gates to the rest of the continent, while grimm attacks skyrocket. Huntsmen are mysteriously disappearing and people find themselves without anyone to protect them. Despite the Branwen tribe's efforts to help the people, settlements are falling. Mistral itself is in danger as the White Fang's shadow looms over it.

Only Vale is in relative peace, and even then it has become a military base for all huntsmen on Sanus to liberate Beacon from the grimm.

Going deeper, Salem has acquired the power of the fall maiden yet the Relic of Choice eludes her thanks to Ozpin's planning. She has set her sights on mistral, where Leonardo Lionheart sends his forces to hunt down the Spring maiden.

Ozma's forces are scattered and disorganized with the death of their leader's physical body. All that stands in Salem's way are Ruby Rose and her brave group of friends, who are headed to Mistral in pursuit of Cinder Fall.

Yet, defeat seems to be on the horizon. For what can a group of inexperienced children do against Salem's armies?

Yet, there is one last spark of hope for humanity. That little spark comes in the form of a demigod sent to Remnant by a goddess from another world with the intention of helping in the war against Salem.

Remnant's fate is changed forever when Jason Grace and his storm spirit Tempest materialize under a Rowan tree in Mistral at dawn.

A/N: And here we go! The second story that is definitely going to continue and not be delayed like Fall of Heaven. Basically, 'Jason comes to Remnant'. Now, I know I'm not technically done with Soulless Plains' Volume-2 portion, but I actually have the final chapter written out in my notebook. I just faced a lot of difficulties typing it out as my laptop froze up several times and my progress got deleted two times. So, I was like 'F**k it! I'm posting Chapter-32 tomorrow' and am releasing this story's prologue today.

Now about the story, I was surfing through AO3 when I noticed a fanfic 'Remnants of a Hero' written by Greed720. I read his PJO/RWBY fic called 'Moonlight' so I was interested to see another crossover of the same nature. And not going to lie, Greed's rant about how Jason wasn't done justice really resonated in me and I decided to make him the protagonist of this story instead of Percy.

Maybe I'll put a little rant on Jason's death. First, the Pandai. I think they should never have been introduced. The Pandai were in truth just one of the many wild and crazy accounts of the Greeks regarding those living in the region of Gandhara. They weren't superhuman warriors who could curbstomp a demigod like Jason who's taken on Titans because that leads to massive inconsistencies that happened with. Next, regarding the nature of Jason's death itself. It was ok. I'm all in for 'Great hero dies an anticlimactic death' because that's how life is, but at least that hero should have some well-established feats for the shock factor. With Jason's impressive feats being either downplayed or never directly shown, his name doesn't garner as much awe as Percy and Annabeth do, who survived Tartarus. So, his anticlimactic death didn't hit hard. Otherwise, I did like his last words and how they further impacted Apollo.

But other than that, yeah. You'll notice I added some extra feats just to put a little emphasis on how Jason really got 'cheated' in Hera's personal opinion.

More into chapter discussion, What I like about greek mythology is how flawed its gods are. Its so easy writing some pettiness in Hera's reasons for saving Jason because it wouldn't be OOC for her.

I also have put in a little symbolism in the last few lines. If you know your folklore, you can spot the symbolism that I used in these lines.

Hope you guys enjoyed and Constructive criticism is appreciated!

Content Analysis:

Skótos Thēría: Greek for 'Dark Beasts'. If you haven't figured it out, its what the grimm were called by Olympus.

Lúkē Ánthropoi: Greek for 'Light Humans'. More information regarding them will be revealed later in the story.
