I've had this idea for a while and after reading a story with Revy falling in love with a female mercenary for hire. My OC will take Rock's place but will be more of a badass soldier. Don't get me wrong, I like Rock and the way his character developed in the show. I just wanna see what happens with my Of character. Anyway, hope you enjoy my new story, my dear friends.

On a ship in the Chinese sea, a 24 year old woman named Laura, who was a former lieutenant in the American Marine corps but was betrayed by her government and was dishonorably discharged and received no benefits for disobeying direct orders that saved her fellow soldiers' lives but let the enemy get away, was charged by her selfish corporate boss, who had hired her as a bodyguard and delivery girl but was treating her like garbage, with delivering a disk to the Chinese, suddenly blocked a punch from a black man named Dutch but was held at gunpoint by a woman that looked about her age and had very beautiful hair tied in a ponytail, making her put her hands up before Dutch spoke as he held his gun on her.

"Now, this disk, soldier girl, this is it?" He asked while Laura was holding up the disk.

"Yeah. That's it, shithead. But what the fuck do you guys want with it?"

"Doesn't matter. Give it to us and we'll be on our way. Besides, the guy who paid you to deliver it isn't exactly paying you enough for the job, isn't he?"

Laura smirked before throwing the disk at Dutch, who easily caught it. "Do whatever the fuck you want with that thing. I was planning on throwing it in the ocean just to spite that bastard anyway, but now I think it'll be more fun to watch him fail at this and possibly get fucked up by the people who are paying him to have that thing delivered."

"Excellent, then we're done with you. You've given us what we want." Dutch said with a grin.

"Hey, Dutch, I gotta admit she's got some balls. She's no pussy, that's for sure." The woman named Revy said with an impressed grin.

"Yeah, but we got the disk, so we're done here." Dutch said before he was contacted by 1 of his companions.

"Dutch, you there? There's something heading straight for us from Subic Bay. It's probably a patrol boat from the local navy." He informed them, getting an annoyed sigh from both Laura and Revy.

"Don't Panic, Benny boy, everything's taken care of. Start the engine." Dutch told his friend before addressing the other passengers. "All right, everyone, we're gonna disappear and then you'll all be free to go. But I'm warning you, the deal's off if anyone decides to come after us. You see that thing down there? That's a torpedo launcher! If you don't wanna float home with what's left of your ship, I recommend you stay put for the next half hour. After that, you're free to do as you wish."

Laura smirked but was still feeling disappointed about not having a chance to get paid. "Well, there goes my paycheck."

But Revy pointed her gun at the white skinned, black haired woman and said with a serious look. "Don't feel bad, cause I think you can still get paid for the disk, plus a little extra, soldier." She said while noticing the military dog tags she had around her neck. "And all you gotta do...is just tag along with us."

"And why would I tag along with you guys?" Laura asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Cause I can tell you wanna get paid, like really get paid. And so do I. Now, if you please, shut up and walk with us." Revy answered with a smirk

When they got onto their boat and began moving away from the ship, Dutch contacted his and Revy's boss Balalaika and informed her that they had the disk before going to Revy and asking her. "Revy, why in the hell did you bring her along with us, huh?! She willingly handed us the disk just to spite her employer."

"You don't get it, do ya? You just don't get it, do ya, Dutch?! Think about it, we're getting paid 20 grand for this job! Only 20 grand!" Revy answered with her temper rising. "And soldier girl here's probably getting paid even less than we are! I figure we can get a bonus by pretending to hold her for ransom and once we get the money, we kill the bastards who deliver!"

That was when Laura asked Revy. "And where exactly do I fit into this little plan of yours?"

"Simple: you be a good girl, we'll give you a piece of the money for the disk and the ransom. After that, you'll be free to go if you want." Revy answered with a grin.

"You're being too simple-minded." Benny said from his area.

"YOU WANNA DIE, BENNY?!"

"Not really." Benny answered before going back to his computer.

"So, who's gonna negotiate with Japan? You?" Dutch asked Revy. "You got their phone number? How about a bank account to receive the ransom payment?"

"No. But I have the asshole who gave me the disk's number. And I'll call him as soon as you guys deliver that thing to your employer. Plus, I managed to get a secret account that nobody but me can access. It's standing at only 2 grand right now but with the money you'll be requesting for my 'return' should fatten it up quite a lot. Once the money is in, I'll split the take evenly between all of us and we'll go our separate ways." Laura answered for Revy as she showed the phone number on her cell phone.

"Good. See, Dutch? Problem solved." Revy said with a smirk before she took out 1 of her guns and began shooting at Laura a few times before stopping, seeing Laura only raise an eyebrow.

"Mind explaining what that was about?" Laura asked.

"Just wanted to see if you really weren't all talk, soldier girl." Revy answered before kneeling down to look Laura in the face. "Why don't me and you go topside, get some air and talk a bit, huh?"

Laura smirked. "Sure, why not."

Revy took Laura topside before they sat down and the gunslinging pirate woman got out her pack of cigarettes before pulling 1 out and lighting it up before she took a drag and blew out the smoke. She then offered her opened pack to Laura. "Smoke?"

"I appreciate the offer, but I don't smoke. Though I do drink. Maybe while I'm with you guys, we could have a little contest to see which of us can drink the most." Laura said with an eager grin.

"Hahaha, you're on, soldier girl. But...if you ever reconsider having a smoke with me, since the next few days are bound to be stressful for ya, the offer stands until we get the money and go our separate ways." Revy said with her cigarette in her mouth.

"I'll... think about it. So...Revy, is it? What's up with you guys?" Laura asked with curiosity.

"All you need to know, soldier girl, is that we're just delivery boys that break the rules to put food on the table." Revy answered before looking at Laura. "By the way, soldier girl, ya got a name?"

"Laura. No last name, just Laura."

"Beautiful name, soldier girl." Revy asked before taking a drag of her cigarette and blowing out the smoke.

"Why do I feel like this around her? She's a pirate and yet, she feels like the only person I can trust in this fucked up world." Laura thought to herself as she stared at Revy while feeling her heart thumping.

Meanwhile, the board of the company that hired Laura gave Kageyama, her employer, the authority to pursue the missing disk, causing Kageyama to hire a mercenary group to attack the Revy and the other pirates to the disk back.

Later on at night

As Revy got off the boat with her fellow pirates, she looked at Laura. "Ready for that drinking contest, Laura?"

"Hell yeah, Revy. Lead the way." Laura said with an eager grin, as she'd been itching for a drink all day. "But where am I anyway?"

As the pirates and former soldier walked into a bar, which Laura knew had been founded by the southern Vietnamese soldiers who survived the war, with people playing cards, fighting, drinking and smoking, as well as men flirting with ladies, they sat down at the counter before Laura looked at Benny and asked. "So, how'd a guy like you end up here?"

"Well, I was in a college in Florida. But I managed to piss off the FBI and the Mafia at the same time. And they-" Benny answered with a smile before Revy cut him off.

"Yours truly saved his ass before it was stuffed in a bag and thrown overboard." She finished before putting her gun down and pouring a glass of rum for Laura. "Stop the worthless storytelling. You're too young to be reminiscing. Now, it's time for all of us to go shot for shot, soldier girl." Before sliding the glass over to Laura.

"Ah, a rum drinker, huh?" Laura asked with a grin, as she was a rum drinker as well.

"Haha." Revy laughed before taking a large swig of her rum. "Yeah. Cause between you and me, beer's no different from piss. That stuff'll never get ya drunk. A real man...or woman, in our case, takes rum. So... what you got, soldier girl? Feel like you can keep up with a real drinker like me?"

But that was when Revy heard Laura, who had taken off her coat, gulping as she took a swig the same as Revy did before slamming her glass down. "Lived my teenage years drinking beer and worked my way up to rum, Revy. So I can more than keep up with you. So... still up for seeing who can drink the most?"

"Oh hell yeah I am, soldier girl!" Revy answered before quickly pouring more rum into glasses and giving 1 to Laura.

As Revy and Laura had their drinking contest, with neither of them getting the upper hand, Dutch was taking to Balalaika, who informed him that something wasn't right the delivery response, so she left out some bait and a Chinese employee went right for it, only to get beat up by Balalaika's guards and then killed after she'd gotten the info she needed.

It was then that grenades were thrown into the bar and exploded, damaging the place and shutting off the lights before men began shooting up the place. It was then that Laura pulled out her personal SIG 45 AUTO pistols and once some of the mercenaries came in, she jumped from the bar and began shooting at the mercenary group, killing some of them with great ease before Revy, who was eager to kill some people, joined in and began jumping around like an expert ninja while shooting her Cutlass twin guns at them, smiling while she did it before they, Dutch and Bunny escaped in a car, with Revy and Laura throwing grenades that they'd picked up to the mercenaries that were chasing them.

"Eat this, you cocksuckers!" Revy and Laura said at the same time before throwing the grenades and killing some of the mercenaries. And as they were driving away, Revy looked at Laura, admiring her skills as a gunslinger similar to herself but wasn't going to trust her.

Later at the crack of dawn

After getting back to their boat, Benny got in touch with the company that hired Laura and, not surprising her, Kageyama had informed Laura that she had been declared dead by the company, who decided that she was just a loose end because the disk contained information about nukes, angering the former soldier.

After going topside, Laura sat down to think before Revy walked up to her and sat down. "I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that they abandoned you, soldier girl. Guess we won't be getting that bonus."

"Guess not." Laura asked, completely stressed out. "So...that offer you had for me? Still stands, right?"

"Changed your mind about smoking, soldier girl?" Revy asked with a grin.

"Yeah, I guess. And...if you guys need extra muscle, I'm open for some new employment." Laura answered with her arms crossed.

But suddenly, they were attacked by a Japanese gunship, intended to kill them all. As the gunship pilot shot at them, but didn't outright kill them as he enjoyed the idea of imagining them suffering and crying for help, Laura got an idea and told Dutch to use a sunken ship as a springboard to launch the Black Lagoon into the air and fire the torpedoes at the gunship, which worked as the gunship crashed onto the island while the pirates landed safely back into the water.

After getting to Balalaika and giving her the disk, who gave the disk to Kageyama, as he had made a deal with the Russian Mafia as a contingency, he agreed that there would be no hard feelings. "Well done, Ms. Laura. Now, come along. There's still much work I have for you." He told his bodyguard as he got into his limo.

"I'm not going anywhere, asshole. You tried to underpay me for something that is worth millions and then tried to kill me. So you can take your business and shove it all up your ass. I have new friends now and I don't abandon my friends." Laura said with a smirk as she stood beside Revy and Dutch.

After Kageyama and Balalaika left, with the blonde russian woman giving Laura her thanks, Laura decided to become part of Revy's group, much to the gunslinger's secret joy. And a while later, they captured a vessel by firing rockets at it, getting the crew's attention before they got what they came for and headed back, with Revy and Laura walking together. "So, soldier girl, enjoying your new life so far?"

Laura smirked. "Hell yeah, Revy." She answered before they headed to Revy's apartment. "So…how about that smoke now?" She asked while reaching out her hand.

Revy grinned before handing Laura a cigarette before lighting it up for her before getting her own before they talked. "So, what changed your mind about smoking, soldier girl?"

Laura took a drag from her cigarette and blew out the smoke before answering. "Well, my jobs before hand, including the military, weren't nearly as stressful as my current one, so I never needed to smoke. But since I'm working with you guys and I've heard that smoking relieves stress, I might as well give it a shot. Plus, all 3 of you smoke, so I figured that being around you guys would make me start sooner or later, so I figured why not just start smoking now?"

Revy smiled before taking a drag of her cigarette and blowing out smoke from her nose. "Well, get used to it, Laura, cause from now on, you're gonna be smoking a lot more now that you're working with us. But it's not so bad once you get used to it."

Laura smiled. "Maybe. But don't expect me to smoke as much as you, though. Don't wanna end up dying of cancer at my young age." She said before taking a drag of her cigarette before asking. "So, Revy, where you from?"

That caused Revy to point her gun at Laura before she said in a warning tone. "Don't ever ask me that again, soldier girl. We're only working together out of mutual respect, not friendship. Got it?"

Laura blew out the smoke before answering, not afraid of the gun at her face due to her experience in the military, but also secretly hoping that Revy would open up to her 1 day. "Got it. But can I at least know where I am since I'm gonna be here for a while?"

Revy put her gun away before putting her cigarette between her lips. "Soldier girl, welcome to Roanapur."

There you go, my dear friends, the 1st chapter is complete. I understand it's not fully detailed but I promise to try and make the next chapters more detailed, especially the gunfights. And more about Laura's past will happen later, along with her eventual romance with Revy. And also, personality, I despise smoking and everything about it, but this is Black Lagoon after all, so I'll make an exception just this once. Also, Laura's outfit is a black tank top similar to Revy's and tactical military pants but she wears no bra or panties, and she wears black military boots.
