It was a peaceful day on Mobius, the birds were singing, the flowers were blossoming and everything was bliss.
Only that this was the last peaceful day that Mobius will get in a long time.

Test tubes filled the halls, each containing something sinister. Footsteps echoed in the halls. The owner walked up to a console for one of the tubes, holding a black-furred mobian.

Report: The subject has gone through 91 test trials to master control over the perfected Valtron, Total failures in mastering: 26, Total Accomplishments in mastering: 65
Conclusion: The subject has achieved total mastery with Valtron and is ready to be used in the field
"HOHOHOHO!" The owner laughed. "It took decades to replicate the phantom ruby's power after what happened back then!" Flashes of the past enter his mind when he discovers a ruby with extraordinary power only for it to be destroyed by a certain blue mobian hedgehog. "But finally…at long last…the ultimate weapon…IS COMPLETE! That rascal, Sonic The Hedgehog, will finally pay for what he has done to my DREAM. It's finished, Eggman land is no more because I now have" He slams the button.
[Opening Tube: 217, Releasing Subject: 217]
The tube opened showing the black furred mobian with a gem on his chest glowing brightly. The light shined on the man revealing his obese body that was covered by his red coat. "My GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT, Valtron '' Eggman exclaimed.
A red ball and yellow cubed rolled in before both transforming into robots. "Boss, who are you talking to?" The spherical bot askes
"Shut up orbot, with Valtron and this Jackal, WE SHALL BUILD THE EGGMAN EMPIRE," Eggman explained looking at the jackal who seemed to be still as a statue…
Till its eyes opened.
"The boss really means business this time," The cubed-shaped bot said.
"Yes cubot, I can tell"
Eggman approached the jackal. "Soldier. Identify yourself." He ordered.

Green Hill Zone
Green Hill zone, a vibrant land with its checkered-like rocks. It was a lovely place, and also the place a mobian began his story.
ZOOM
A blue blur ran through the green surfaces of the land at high speeds with no care in the world. It made sharp turns left and right, jumped over cliffs to the next one, launching itself with red springs, and boosted its speed with the pads on the ground allowing it to go through the loopty loops.
This was no ordinary blur. No. This was a blue mobian hedgehog with spiky quills, red shoes, white gloves, a sling bag, and emerald green eyes. Sonic the Hedgehog, Fastest Thing Alive, Savior of the Arabian Nights, Knight of the Wind, Hero of Mobius. "Good afternoon Green Hill Zone!" Greeted the blue blur. "Today's forecast will be a bright sunny day with little to no clouds with a hint of strong wings made by yours truly! WOOHOO!" He said using his ability, boost, to go faster.
As he does that he passes by the remains of machinery covered in grass. As he ran by the pieces of scrap metal he took notice of one of the broken machines having a strange glow inside. He stops for a moment and walks up over to it. He goes into the robot and pulls out…a seed. Seeing this seed made him smile recalling one of the oldest adventures he had done. "Hello there friend, allow me to bring you somewhere you can grow safely." He then made a quick run to a secluded location in the zone.
A small lake with trees surrounding it and hiding it from the world. Sonic smiled, it has been a long time since he has been here, it is practical to say this was a place only he knew about. He walked around for a little bit before finding a good place to put the seed in. After digging a hole the hedgehog places the seed in before covering it back up with dirt, he then grabbed water from the lake with his hands and drenched the dug-up ground with it. He pats it. "I'll see you in a while, okay?" He gets back up and leaves his secret place.
Later on, he makes his way onto a hill where he is now laid back and looking at the blue sky.
Apart from the planting, today was a usual day for him, getting his Million steps per day, eating chili dogs, and most of all…sleeping on top of his favorite zone. Everything seemed perfect…too perfect. "Man, the last few months were very peaceful, Eggman has really been quiet for a while. I wonder why? Oh well, might as well enjoy it while it lasts." He then prepares himself to take a good long nap-
RING RING RING RING RING RING
"Really? I was literally about to take a good nap." Sonic said in annoyance before going into his bag and pulling out his communicator. He answers. "Hey Tails, what's up-"
"SONIC! HELP! WE NEED YOU!"
The sudden screaming startled Sonic a moment but hearing his friend's voice concerned him more. "Tails what happened?" He asked. "EGGMAN! HE'S BACK AND HE'S DESTROYING EVERYTHING."
"Wait what!? Eggman? Destroying the city? What!?"
"WE NEED YOU IN THE CITY NOW-" The call cuts off.
"Tails? TAILS! Darn it. It's cut off." He puts away the communicator and gets up, as he does he notices smoke from the distance…San Franobia. "Seems Tails' right. But the situation though…Eggman never goes for the total brutal route. Guess whatever he's planning is more serious than before. Better get there. FAST!"
ZOOM
Sonics runs off to the city, normally he will use his normal speed to get to Eggman but this situation calls for a faster speed so that's what he's doing. As he had a direct course for the city. He hears something…from his bag. He goes into it and pulls out a bracelet with a green gem. The Gaia Bracelet, Light Gaia or Chip's last gift, was giving out a faint glow. This object never glowed in the past. Why was it glowing now? "What the- WOAH!" His confusion with the bracelet distracted him from noticing the ramp ahead causing him to launch off from it and into the air, and what he saw…shocked him.
Sand…parts of Green Hill Zone were now covered in sand and not only that PYRAMIDS were being constructed by egg robots.
"Wh-What in the world?" Sonic was shocked at the sudden change in his home zone that he forgot about sticking the land. "AGH!" He crashes to the ground but manages to get back up and continue running. "What happened here? Why is Green Hills now Sand Hills!? Wait." He then realizes something and looks back at the bracelet, remembering long ago what he learned about the gaias, how they are the manifestations of the world's desire for balance between light and dark. "If Chip's bracelet is reacting then." He gets serious. "Whatever Eggman's planning must be very bad for the world, I have to get there…NOW!" He boosts off using all the energy has stored for a while to go super faster than before. He sees the smoke getting closer meaning the city is not that far behind but as he prepares to enter the city. "WHAT IN THE-"
SKRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTT
He went to a screeching halt, looking at what was protecting the entrance were creatures made of molten rock. "Wha-What are you- GAH!" Seeing the creatures gives the hero a sudden headache as flashes of memories he has never seen before comes in…
meeting a princess, encountering a crystal mobian looking like another hedgehog he knew and a silver hedgehog, arriving in a desolate future burned by a giant being made of lava, dying, becoming SuperSonic with both mentioned hedgehogs, the princess blowing a white flame.
It all came back to him. "N-No way. Those are…" He looks at them. 'Minions made by Iblis! But how are they back!? Elise said if Solaris' flame was extinguished then Iblis would also be gone! HOW!?' Though shocked at why these creatures are back, his concern for his friend and the people returned. He shook his head. "Can't think about you guys now. I have to save my friends!" He boosts past the lava monsters and goes through the tunnel that led to the city.
As he ran he notices the lights in the tunnel were off leaving it very difficult for Sonic to see what was coming up but that was not needed as he sees the light at the end of the hallway, he was all ready to stop whatever Eggman had planned, he thinks about what he was going to do with Eggman now with this situation: Ask him how he brought back Iblis' minions? Ask what is his end goal.? Go straight to beating? Or…

Sonic dashed to the side the moment he went out the tunnel leaving his hand to hit it. While in mid-air he looks at the culprit and was shocked to see…the Death Egg Robo…BUT BIGGER AND MORE MENACING THAN BEFORE! "Woah." The robot pulled back its arm and then launched it at him. He dodged the attack and kept using his boost to keep him airborne before landing on the arm of the mechanical giant and running straight for the eye. He makes a jump for it and-
POW
Spin Dashes through the eye making it fall to the ground while he lands on the streets of San Franobia. He looks at the fallen bot in relief. "That must've been what Tails was talking about. Thank god I took care of that one…" His relief soon faded as he turned around and saw something horrifying.
More Death Egg Bots. More than Sonic could count. and what is worse was that they seemed to be halfway done with their main goal.
San Franobia was in ruins…the smoke covered the skies, flames engulfed the buildings, and debris of crushed homes scattered the land. Luckily there seem to be no signs of blood. "Okay no, signs that mean dead people can be two reasons: they were captured OR they were evacuated." He said to himself. "Definitely, they were evacuated meaning I better get to the rendezvous point…wherever that may be…LET'S DO THIS!" He dashes away, starting his search for the citizens.
As Sonic searched the city he kept on coming across some familiar egg robots, though with the interesting inclusion of the past minion bots Eggman hasn't used in a very long while. He went from street to street trying to find where the civilians and ultimately his friends were. The signs of no blood were a good motivator as well. His search came to an end when he noticed a wave of egg robots going for…not him…but something else. Seeing them go on a direct course for not him gave him a good idea. He followed the army by jumping from rooftop to rooftop to see where they were heading and just as he hypothesized he saw the rest of the army engaging in combat with a two-tailed fox with an arm cannon. Tails.
BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG
"EVERYONE GET DOWN THROUGH THE MANHOLE! IT'LL LEAD YOU SOMEWHERE SAFE!" Shouted the fox as he fired energy bullets at the robots with his cannon. He had no problem destroying the robots but the amount of them coming in was almost overwhelming him.
POW POW POW POW POW POW POW POW
Till a blue blur manages to take them down with a barrage of homing strikes. Destroying the last one in front of Tails. "Hey, Tails! Holding down the fort well I see. Good job!"
"Thanks, Sonic but we have no time." Tails said as more egg robots came in. The duo then got ready for battle. The robots fired at them but the two dodged them with their means, Sonic ran and Tails flew. Then they began to take down the bots. Sonic used homing strikes once more and Tails continued firing his arm cannon.
"So Tails…what…happened?" Sonic paused every time he began to kick and even punch at the robots before swiping their fights and spin dashed them all at once.
"Eggman came in with no warning at all…Normally he would start warning people through his ship's speakers before attacking but this time it wasn't! He even brought all the giant artillery through means of camouflage!" Tails explained also, pausing as well when he attacked by firing his cannon, throwing zero gravity traps onto the bots for easy targets, or using his energy boomerang.
"No Warning? Camouflaged? Is this even the Eggman we know?" He asked his friend. As he pulls out small discs and throws them around the battlefield before returning to his friend. In a matter of moments, the sonic crackers went off! Aka…LANDMINES!
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM
"Maybe. But there's no time for that." Tails said before looking at the mobians who were still taking turns going down the manhole. "We have to ensure that all of the civilians are safe first!"
"Got it!" Sonic says and prepares to fight till he notices something from the distance. Something he recognizes. "Wait…those are…" From the distance marched an army of bulky knights and floating spherical beings and others that had similar patterns. "UNDERWORLD KNIGHTS!? DJINNS!?"
Hearing that surprised Tails. "Wait, those up ahead? How do you know them? I've never seen them before!"
"Long story short pal, remember how I claimed to have journeyed into the world of Arabian nights and King Arthur?" He asked.
Tails recalled what he heard back then when he and the rest of their friends called Sonic crazy and realized why he asked that. "Wait…THAT'S WHAT YOU MEANT!?"
"Yep."
"I THOUGHT YOU WERE JOKING!"
"Tails." Sonic deadpans. "Why will I lie?"

"Good point." Tails said then- "WATCH OUT!"
SLASH
One of the knights came in and tried to slash one of the duo but they dodge the attack on time and soon they began to try and take out the army of fictional monsters. Tails took care of the djinns no problem and Sonic went for knights. However, the hedgehog was having difficulties. The knights' maneuvers managed to hold back Sonic's homing strikes and he can't use the boost right now since it was recharging from the number of times it was used so the blur had no choice but keep on dodging the attacks over and over again.
"Man! These knights are tough! Normally I will wipe the floor with them easily with Cali- wait." He soon realized his error and knew what had to be done. Luckily he knew a location where he could get what was needed. He smirked. "Tails? Hold them back for a moment. I need to make a dramatic entrance!"
"Wait what? Sonic? What do you mean by tha-"
ZOOM
"Sonic!?"
The hedgehog runs up to a rooftop with a perfect view of the battlefield. He then dug into his bag and pulled out a knight gauntlet. He put it on and then pulled out a golden ring. He throws it to the side and it opens a portal. He digs his knightly hand into the portal and pulls out…A SWORD! "KNIGHT OF THE UNDERWORLD!" He gets the attention of the knights along with Tails. He points at himself. "I am Sonic Knight of the Wind and the True King Arthur!" He points his sword at them. "And I won't stand the wretched acts you're all committing! And as king, I'll…SEND YOU BACK TO WHERE YOU BELONG!" He then jumps into battle.
One of the knights ran in and goes to slash Sonic-
CLANK
But the Knight of the Wind blocks it with his sword before disarming the opponent and slashing it hard, destroying it. More than came in but the young knight proceeded to show them all how sword fighting really works. Using his speed things down, he walks to them and begins to slash them down one at a time, then one comes in from behind but he dodges it and slashes the gut. Another came but its sword was knocked away after two strikes from the hedgehog before getting slashed itself. A group then tried slashing together but they all got blocked at the same time by the blur before getting staggered and slashed in the end. Sonic then saw more coming and just decided to end it once and for all by just running at them and just stabbing and striking them hundreds of times!
He then returns time to normal
And all the knights fell. Leaving a fox flabbergasted at what just happened. Sonic just smirked. "Told ya." Before zooming around and taking care of the Djinns with just constant slashes from his sword. "And that's why you don't mess with me when I'm in knight mode."
"HOHOHOHO! So it was true." Their attention was soon gained as a spherical vehicle holding a certain doctor descended. "You really did become a king. That's a neat bonus for when I beat you. Me, Dr. Ivo Robotnik beating a king for total control of Mobius. Perfect for my resume."
"Eggman!" The duo said as they ready their weapons.
"So. I take it you actually believed I went on those crazy adventures?" Sonic asked now with a glare.
"Oh yes, I do because I actually saw it happening before my eyes! It was still shocking at first, your name magically replaced the title for King Arthur but that was still a great opportunity I can not kiss on research. I gotta hand it to you hedgehog, your battles in those stories really inspired me so much that I decided to bring it all back for you! Nice present right?"
"Yeah. Sure." Sonic said before pointing at him. "Anyways, I need to ask, how did you bring back Iblis' minions!?"
"Iblis?" Tails asked, never heard that name until now but then he too gets a headache. "Gah!" After seeing flashes of what had happened before he remembered it all as well. "N-No way! How are they here!? Solaris shouldn't exist now, meaning Iblis couldn't be here to bring them to life!"
"I see you two have now remembered what happened back then also. Interesting." Eggman said, rubbing his mustache.
"Yeah, we do! Now answer us…how did you bring them back!" Sonic demanded.
"Oh, it was simple, I used my ultimate masterpiece to bring them back and along with all of my wondrous creations from old times! Finally, I can rule this world and bring in THE EGGMAN EMPIRE!" Eggman declared.
"NOT IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT!" Sonic jumps up and goes in with a homing stri-

"GAH!" Sonic lands back on the ground after the sudden intervention from a red blur. The blur then hits the ground and reveals itself to be a black hedgehog similar to sonic but with black fur with hover skates. "Sh-Shadow!? You!? B-But why!?"
"Quiet faker! There is nothing more for you to ask! Time for you to see who is the real fastest thing alive!" The hedgehog said as a strange melody can be heard in the background.
'What is this sound? Why does it sound so…familiar?' Sonic thought before hearing laughter in the air.
"HOHOHOHO! Oh Sonic, my old friend, Shadow isn't the only one that's a part of my masterpiece. COME ON OUT EVERYBODY!" He snaps his fingers…
Then more arrived trying to attack Sonic. The hedgehog manages to push them back after blocking, Six strange yet colorful humanoid beings land before revealing their ugly faces. "THE DEADLY SIX!?" Sonic said in shock, Tails' gasping as well.
Next were two beings charging for Sonic together. He dodges their attack and manages to see that both were tall but one was covered in black knight armor and rode a horse and the other was a muscular purple man. "KING ARTHUR!? ERAZOR DJINN!?"
He then heard something firing from behind and dodged it, seeing a beam that nearly stabbed him in the back. He looks at the shooter only to see the crystal mobian looking like Shadow appeared along with a monster that looked like it was supposed to be giant-sized. "MEPHILES!? IBLIS!?"
Then five metallic beings, looking like sonic, land as well, the one looking more like the hedgehog leading the group. "METAL! MECHAS!?"
Lastly from the ground rose a being made of water who has a brain inside, then a giant serpent who was big as the death egg bots rose. "CHAOS!? DARK GAIA!?"
Eggman smirked as his archenemy looked in shock at the number of big bads he had taken down over the years and now stood before the hedgehog altogether.
Tails also looked in horror. "I-Impossible! Most of these guys are supposed to be trapped in their own world!"
"And most of them shouldn't exist anymore," Sonic added, glaring at the enemies during his journey in the books along with the two halves of an entity. He then pointed at the doctor again. "TELL ME RIGHT NOW EGGMAN! HOW DID YOU BRING THEM ALL BACK!?"
"I said it once and I'll say it again. I brought them back with the help of my own masterpiece! DESCEND! MY GREATEST CREATION!" He shouted.
"Will do…master." A voice answered, gaining the heroes' attention and making them look around for the source. As Sonic looked. "Right here hedgehog." He looked forward
And saw red eyes.
"AH!"
SLASH
Startled at the moment, Sonic tries to slash the mobian that stood but he suddenly disappeared before contact. "Huh?"
"Over here."
SLASH
"Behind you?"
SLASH
"Can't land a hit? Shame."
Hearing these taunts annoyed Sonic so he went for the next approach. "Oh yeah? TRY THIS ON FOR SIZE!" He then sped up

And slashed everything around him…nothing got hit.
"You missed. So much for being called "fastest thing alive"."
"SHUT UP!"

WARP
Sonic charged in with a boost aiming to ram him with it…but missed. This left the hedgehog in shock. "Wha- Bu-But how did you do it?"
"Th-This guy…out sped…Sonic."
"So hedgehog. Think you can take me down?" The jackal asked.
Sonic heard nothing but his voice as realization struck him hard. For all his life he relied on speed and only speed to get him out of a situation and beat down any bad guy who was still his way but now having someone who has managed to beat him in his own standing before him made him think one thing.
He can't beat him. He can beat him. And if he goes down, the world will soon join him.
…
No. He shouldn't think that, he can't let anyone see him give up! If he does, people won't have any more hope. He can't let that happen. No matter what…he must…protect…HOPE!
"Tails…run." He spoke.
Tails looked in surprise. "What?"
Sonic firmly held the sword's hilt. "I…said…RUN!"
SLASH
Sonic turned around and began to try hitting the jackal once more, he no longer cared for missing, one thing only mattered, stalling time.
The jackal then flew back and let Zavok attack. Sonic blocks the punch with his sword. "Tails! Listen to me!" He kicks Zavok away and boosts for the jackal only to miss but then he dodges Metal Sonic's attack. "I won't be able to beat this guy."
"What!?" Tails said in shock, never in his life will he hear those words come out of his mouth. "B-But you managed to win every battle you went in! No matter the challenge! We just need to try harder!"
"I know." Sonic dashed at the jackal and misses, Chaos and Mephiles then jumped at him and double-teamed him, he managed to hold his own against them. "But the situation is different now! This guy has overwhelmed us not only by numbers but by power AND speed too! It's impossible to win against them all!" He pushes back the two before the two-story villains came in and punched him hard, pushing him back. He grunts. "Th-That is why…I need you to escape…find a way to beat this new guy…and defeat him once and for all!"
"But what about you?!"
He looks at the overwhelming army of villains before answering Tails. "I'll stall you some time."
Tails' heart sank, knowing what he was going to do. "N-No. No Sonic! YOU CAN'T!"
"You have to!" Now all of the villains came rushing at him, the hedgehog now having no choice but to use all his energy to dodge everyone, hoping the jackal won't come in yet. "It's the only way we can find a way to beat this guy! And if we don't then we all won't have peace anymore!"
"But you could die!"
"I know." He kept on dodging and dodging until he could feel his energy now fading, he was about to hit empty. "And I also know that for a fact that I will make it to the end." He was all out, he began to slow down.
"Sonic. DON'T!"
POW
"GAH!" Sonic slams into the wall by the jackal dropping his sword in the process before being kicked to the deadly six who began to hit him around like a ragdoll. Sonic was then launched to the two-story villain, the djinn punched him and the knight slashed him. The halves of Solaris then had their fun. Iblis burns Sonic while Mephiles begins to fire at Sonic making sure to not hit the heart. Then robot sonics slammed him around, then chaos, then dark Gaia before being launched to the Jackal who did the final hit.
KAPOW
Right at the chest with a punch so strong…it crashed the hedgehog hard on the ground
CRASH
"SONIC!" Tails ran for his friend
WARP
POW
"AH!" Only for the Jackal to appear and punch the fox away, making him drop his cannon in the process. The civilians looked in fear.
Ba-dum Ba-dum Ba-dum
Sonic could feel everything in his body failing him, as his blurred vision sees Tails on the ground and mobians backing away in fear. "L-Leave…them…alone!"
The jackal stopped before changing his approach to the hedgehog
SLAM
CRACK
"GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Sonic screamed, feeling his back breaking yet still feeling everything shutting down.
Ba-dum…Ba-dum…Ba-dum
Tails' eyes opened to see the horrifying act being done to Sonic but were too weak to move. "S-Sonic…"
He was running out of time, he had to do something to send Tails and the last few civilians away. Then…he got one. "P-People…please…drag Tails to safety…" Though his voice was weak, the message was wide and clear as they nodded. Sonic smiled before digging into his bag one more time to pull out one last warp ring, with the last of his strength he flicked the ring to the group, the ring made it past them, then a portal opened. "G-Go Tails…I-I know you…and the others…can…fix…this…" With the last strength used his hands dropped to the ground
Ba-dum Ba-dum ba…dum…
Sonic…was dead.
Tails' heart sank more now than before seeing his friend now dead. With the horror of what just happened Tails' strength returned. "S-Sonic? Sonic!? SONIC!" He tries to run for his friend but the mobians grab a hold of him and begin to drag him through the portal that leads to Sand Hills. "HEY! STOP! WE HAVE TO GO BACK FOR HIM! PLEASE!" He bagged but they didn't listen even though he wasn't strong enough to break out of their grasp and couldn't do anything but watch as the portal closed with the view of the other side showing all the villains surrounding his dead friend. "SONIC! SONIC! SONIC!"
"SONNNNNNNNIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCC!"
