Kiiitcat here! I've realised i cannot commit myself to a full fanfic.

With a full schedule and a wild mind that imagines the next part before i can finish what i'm writing - well it's a tad of a struggle.

I do hope you enjoy this little drabble. And when i say little, i mean TINY!

It just came out of nowhere and i have no idea where it went. whether i want to play on the idea more, it may be fun to write previous to this scene. It's just a scattered mess of words written on whim at 11pm.

Enjoy G's! KK X

(oh and enjoy the essence of the english S's to Z's. Word is never happy)

Oven of Love

The chatter buzzed through the room as usual, from a wailing Lucy that ended up in the canal, to a boasting Natsu talking about that one time he managed to move Gildart with the power of his Dragon's fire (like 1cm) to a giggling Happy who was up to no good as always.

Juvia sighed in contentment as she looked over her warm group of friends, eyes slowly grazing the crowd and just lingering a little longer on a familiar mop of dark hair that she thought made her Gray just that more perfect.

Sensing her eyes on him, he turned his head over his shoulder away from the group conversation and gave her a small smirk.

Juvia's heart caught in her throat at the small gesture. She should be used to the smiles now, the attention she finally craved for and that loving look in his eyes only she gets to see, but every time it happened, it felt like the first time all over again and made her love for him grow ever so more.

She was torn at the way they were having to behave, just for themselves without no-one else to know just yet. Oh how she wished he could give her those looks in front of their friends, but this was Gray and big theatrical expressions of love were never in him. She shouldn't think this way, she had finally got the return of love she longed from him. If she waited all this time to get him to reciprocate the feelings, surely she could wait a little more for public affection.

A flashing light caught her eye, pulling her out of her thoughts. She hopped off her chair and squeezed past the crowd to get to the oven. The smell of cookies wafted towards her, bringing out a big grin. Oh how everyone will be excited by her treats! Especially Gray-sama!

With her head twirling in her exaggerated thoughts, little did she think about her safety or any awareness for the situation she was about to put herself in.

She opened the over to bask upon her newly baked treats and grabbed the tray out the oven. It wasn't until she was mid stance she realised how hot the tray actually was. Actually, scratch that, how scalding hot the metal tray was in her poor bare hands!

She let out a small scream from the hot pain and stumbled back to the counter to chuck the tray back on. Heads turned at the yelp and the place was stunned into silence with small gasps and "Juvia! 's". She smiled weakly at them and was about to head to the sink when a larger pair of hands rasped hers.

Juvia upturned her head and was surprised to find Gray there with worry etched into his face. In a second, a cool relief spread through her hands, passed from Gray's ice magic hands. His mop of coal coloured hair shagged down over his eyes and his eyebrows were deep in a frown searching her hands for any injury.

As they stood in the middle of the kitchen, Juvia couldn't take her eyes off Gray as he openly cared for her in front of her friends. This is what she had been waiting for! Shame it took her burning her hands to do it.
Realisation of what he was doing slowly dawned on him as he lifted his head from Juvia's hands, to Juvia's slightly shocked face and then turning to the rest of the room.

There he was met with happy smiles, knowing looks and a confused mumbling from Natsu saying how Gray never cools his hands off after a big fight.

Well, if no one knew about Gray and Juvia, they sure do now.
