"Well kids," Jack said hastily, "I think it's time to go home."

Daniel didn't agree. "Jack, don't you think we should look around more?"

Sam, looking around the planet that was PX854, agreed silently with Jack. It was dark and foggy. A gloomy world with a landscape dominated by many eerie caves.

Teal'c, keeping his staff weapon close by him while surveying the caves, looked around at Jack. "It appears there are no signs of life here, O'Neill. You are right, we should return home."

Daniel knew, by Sam's perturbed expression, she didn't want to stay either.

Three against one, huh?

He ignored them and sneaked into one of the caves.

Sam shivered. "It's cold."

Jack replied, "Don't remind me."

Sam was puzzled about his comment, then she remembered--the Antarctica incident. "Oh...right," she said, wanting him to know she understood.

Jack turned, looking around. "Where's Daniel?"

Teal'c raised his brow. "I thought he was behind us?"

Jack didn't hide his sarcasm. He never did, saying, "Well, not anymore. Daniel!" His voice ricocheted around the caves. And then a voice echoed back.

"I'm in here!"

They followed Daniel's voice into one of the monstrous caves.

They stood and watched the archeologist enthralled by the cave.

Jack smirked. "Danny boy, found something interesting?"

"Yes." Daniel's fingers scaled down the ridges etched into the wall. "I've never seen anything like this. They look--," thinking of a word to describe the caves, he thought of one and said, "Fossilized."

Jack noticed Sam was gone.

What's going on here?

"Carter?" Jack called.

No answer.

"Sam!"

Silence.

Jack grimaced. "I've gotta strange feeling about this place. Let's go. We have to find Sam."

Daniel and Teal'c followed Jack out of the cave.

"Sam!" Jack rushed over to Sam's sprawled body on the ground.

She moaned and then awoke, dazed.

"What? What happened?"

"I called and you didn't answer, then we found you out here. You don't remember anything?"

She sat up. Confused, Sam shook her head. "No. I don't remember." She moaned again as if in pain and touched her forehead. "I don't remember."
