Sirius
Stars grace the midnight sky
bright and fiery orbs of light
but tonight they have dimmed in my eyes
for none shines as bright as you.
Once here by my side
now watching from the sky,
you have left your earthly bounds
for a place among the gods.
Here, the leaves are gold,
the air bears a chill,
no matter what the problem
you still stand beside me.
We are the children of the stars
born to the earth in chains
in exchange for the sins of others,
we will never stop working.
You have now done your piece
and have left in return for the heavens
but no matter where, we can still see
one another, forever.
Pass on to the higher place
and take my memory with you.
