Without thought, he placed the hat over his head. Gregory Goyle felt uneasy as it twitched about, trying to find the right words to say to him. It made the situation even worse as Professor McGonagall gave him a pinched glance, along with the mixed emotion of the teachers on the high table.
A memory in the back of his heart loudly roared as the hat spoke to him.
Gregory Goyle... the one child of Goyle senior, am I right?
Y-y-yes... Nausea filled his lungs. Malfoy was watching him; Vincent Crabbe was watching him.

Gruffly, the Hat chided. "SLYTHERIN!"
Goyle stumbled on his way to the table, glancing shortly at the hat who had revealed who he was. He was smart, indeed, and definitely not stupid. Maybe he had made the wrong decision, but he made his choice, and he'd live it out...
As he sat, Malfoy gave him a friendly pat on the back, along with Crabbe's laugh of joy. No... this wasn't the wrong decision, Goyle thought.
He was with his two best friends. How could he be wrong?
