"Here you go Ryou, your very own diary"
I took the book from my father. This was great. I was the happies kid in the world.
"Thanks Daddy! I'll write in it right now!"
He gave me a warm smile. Life was so good. I ran upstairs and locked the door to my room. My room wasn't too big, but it wasn't to small either. It was cozy, and it was my home. I grabbed a pen from my desk and opened the book. It smelled so new, so fresh. I chewed the pen for a little before writing.
"The Diary of Ryou Bakura" was splashed on the cover. How nice of daddy to do that. I put my pen on the paper and began to write.

Dear Diary,
Hello, my name is Ryou Bakura. I'm going to be writing to you from now on! My life is very good right now. I have a loving Daddy, and an awesome little sister who I take care of! But I don't have a Mommy....Well, it doesn't matter though, because my daddy and sister are good enough! ^_^
Speaking of which, guess what? I am going to finally see my little sister tomorrow! I can't wait! I mean, its been forever since I have last seen Amane. Shes been away at camp, and finally shes comming back! We are very close, and I love her very much! ^__^
Also, Daddy just came back from another dig! I wish I could go with him sometime. They always look so fun. The coolest thing daddy ever brought me was a Ring. Well, it was called a ring, but it really isn't. My daddy said I am destined to have it. Also, Amane told me she likes it a lot!
I know its only been a summer, but it feels so much longer! Shes my best friend in the whole wide world! Its so boring without her around. I miss her so much.
Oh yea, I started this great new game called Duel Monsters. Daddy got me some cards. A lot of them are really ugly though! My favorite is this pretty angel one. Too bad the other side is a demon. Daddy told me its called......uh.....I forget, but it was really cool!
The night holds a lot of stars. They are so pretty. Oh wow! A shooting star. Daddy told me that if I see one, I should make a wish on it. I wonder what I should wish for.
"I wish that me and Amane could be together forever"
I hope it grants me my wish. I don't have any friends. Everyone thinks I'm weird, but thats ok! I am happy with Amane.
Well, I will go to bed now. Tomorrow I get to see my sister again. I will wear the new Ring around my neck, I hope she likes it! Thank you for listening to me! I'll write to you again tomorrow.

I put my pen down and brought my new diary over to my desk. I can't wait until tomorrow. My sister will be home! I wonder how she is doing without me? I have taken care of her for as long as I can remember. I let out a long yawn.
I crawled into bed and pulled up the sheets. Yes, tomorrow we would be a family again. Tomorrow everything would be better. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep, letting the comforting images of laughter take me to a place I love. Yes, tomorrow we are a family again.......
