Chapter 1: "The Awakening"
The two wandered through the night's darkness. Never did they stop for breath. What would become of the two outsiders, death, a new life? Michael never asked Selene where they were headed too the streets were bare with the faint light illuminating from the lamp posts. A slight drizzle fell upon their shoulders. The moon was full, glowing down on the city in a melancholy manner.
The two arrived at an abandoned apartment complex off the cities edges. They entered the dark building unnoticed .Michael fell to the wall along the first corridor. Selene stood above him, quietly looking around, as if waiting for something to happen. Michael ran his hands through his soaked hair staring wide-eyed to the floor. Selene was still transfixed on the moment she had defied everything she exist for, the moment she killed her leader, her father of immortality.
"What am I" he said looking up at her hopefully. She didn't reply. "Selene..."
"You are what Viktor has feared since the beginning..a cross-race."
Selene had no idea what to do. Now she and Michael were to be hunted by both races. The lycans were now scattered and leaderless. They were scared of Michael, of what he had become. She couldn't believe she was standing by a hybrid, Michael. Now she too feared him. The though he could kill her with the slightest ease made her scared. She couldn't believe what she was thinking. She a vampire, an immortal was uncontrollably scared.
He had no idea the power he wielded. He was thing even the un-dead was scared of.
They were safe for now, but she wandered how long it would take before they found them.
"Selene.." he reached for her hopefully. She edged away from his hand. "Selene, I.I don't know what to do." He stood up and looked at her longingly. "I need your help."
"No one can help us now Michael. They will find us soon. We can't stay here long."

Erika was leaned against the window pressing her cheek against the glass, and gazed down at the manor's gate and the ground, now dampened from the rain.
"What is taking them so long." She said impatiently to herself. She sighed loudly. "Where is Kraven, he should be back by now." Her cold lifeless vampire breath left no mark upon the glass. She was alone, strangely tired and weary. "Where are they!"
