you told me
that you would want to go swimming
out among the stars
and i wondered
would you swim there with me?
i was never so good at swimming
brought up in a land without water
but i think you could teach me
last night, i saw you writing
in my dreams
and from your pen flowed
graceful images
your words
a humble goddess' poetry
beautiful and terrifying
and while my heart was
still breaking
when i awoke
all my wishes shattered
a dream of my father crushed
into oblivion
i noticed
that i missed the sunny rivenese skies
and the shocking viridian of your eyes
we could fall into the night and be cradled by stars and still return to the place where we began
