After the fight the soul lead the Fun Gang back to Fengg´s house. The heartshaped object made Kris go in and out of the living room. After several tries, when the blue human re-entered the room, something happened. They were suddenly in an empty place. Its layout was familiar to the living room.

Where the shattered TV was supposed to be, grew a single tree from the ground. Kris looked behind it.

There was a man. He seemed ecstatic to see you. He asks if you were satisfied with what you saw.

*Yes No

The man wants to give you something. Want to see more?

*Yes No

You got an Egg. You looked at it. Then you looked back up. There was no longer a tree or a man. Only the dark. And a… chair that was darker than the dark. You interacted with it. The chair became wobbly and distorted, like the disturbed surface of a dark lake. Interacting with it once more, the `chair´ turned into static. The static grew and grew until it filled your enitre world.

Then it dissappeared and Kris was back in the living room.

"Greetings travelers, what can I do to you?"

Later the Fun Gang had returned back to Talas shop to replenish their healing items. Of course that wasn't the only reason they came here.

"We have encountered Fengg" the soul said trough Kris.

"What? Oh dear, so you´ve really met her. How is she? Is she okay?"

"I don't want to offend you..." Susie began "…but this Fengg had a few screws lose. She tried to kill us."

"Susie, please be not so blunt. Even if you're not necessarily wrong."

The trio told the darkner what happened. To say she was shocked would be an understatement. She just stared at the heroes in silence for a while. Then she stammered, "I... I can't believe that…" Tala got quit. Then she sighed bitterly. "No… I can believe this. One day Fengg cam to work, looking very tired and confused. All day long she was very irritated and brash. It was so unlike her. When I asked her what was wrong, she just explained that she found an obscure midnight channel and couldn't stop watching. At least that's how I understood it. Fengg had described it... in a very odd way. Since that day, she started coming to work later and later, became more and more aggressive. Then one day she stopped appearing altogether. I went to her home but no one opened up. When I looked trough the windows I saw her. Fengg actually seemed to watch that channel… with an odd and intense look in her eyes. She noticed me and, before I could do anything, just pulled the curtains together. But I managed to get a glimpse of what she was watching and…"

Tala shook her head.

"Even to this day I can´t explain to myself why she would sit all night and all day… just to watch a screen full of static."

"Did something happened after that?" Ralsei asked.

"When I had a day of, I was preparing to try and visit her again. But when I got out of the house I met Tenna. He looked very torn up and disgruntled. He told me that I could expect to never see Fengg again and then refused to answer any of my questions. I´ve only heard rumors of what had happened… but your report seems to confirm them.

… I wish I could have done something more to help that once so sweet and kind flower."

….

Kris sighed. After sealing the dark fountain, they and Susie just enjoyed the day and hung out together. But then his mother called and asked if they could do a little shopping for her. On itself it wouldn't be a problem... if they didn't have to do it in the shop of the guy called Sans. Kris couldn't quite put their finger on what it was about the skeleton that bothered them. Maybe that the soul had a strange obsession with him or the fact that he had made essentially a 'yo mama' joke when they first met, but Kris just didn't like the skeleton.

For right now they and Susie were paying for the bought items. During this Sans had just watched them, being oddly silent. Only when the duo was finished he said:

"you know kid, that's a very interesting handkerchief you've got around your neck."

Since leaving the Dark World, Kris wore a dark silk handkerchief around their neck like some sort of cowboy. They assumed it was the Shadow Mantle in the Light World and decided to keep it on. Not only had their mother given it as a token of her respect, it also suited them pretty well.

"Yeah they´re mother gave it to them. I think."

"ah… i see. now wonder it looked familiar then. you know when i `befriended´ your mother…" Kris cringed at that "… i gave her that exact same handkerchief as a gift. and now she seemed to have gifted it to you. not that i mind. you never know when or how you could use one."

Kris blinked and starred at the ever smiling skeleton monster. But before they could say anything the soul already dragged them out with the bought goods in their inventory.

….

"Welcome travelers- huh! Could it be?"

After shopping, Susie and Kris had returned to the Dark World in the school supply closet. Not just to see how the new Darkners had settled in, but also to give Shawn a certain item. As soon as the Fun Gang entered, the cat immediately noticed the Shadow Mantle around Kris' shoulder.

"Indeed, it's the Shadow Mantle. Where did you get it? No wait, don't tell me you've already used it?!"

Kris placed the Shadow Crystal on Shawm's counter. At the same time, they and their friends told what had happened. The old Darkner's good eye widened.

"So you managed to defeat your next opponent? Impressive. And this one found the Shadow Crystal at the bottom of the place where the undesired gets thrown away. Just like how she was. Such a tragedy. But something tells me that, the more Shadow Crystals you find, the darker yet darker the secrets gets. Maybe you should be more careful. After all, curiosity killed the cat."
