Down on the surface, the barrier had just fallen, and the robots were coming in.
"Here we go boys," said Paloma, who was holding a large EMP gun. With one blast of the gun, every robot that had been in its path fell to the ground dead.
"That only took down twenty of them and more are coming," said X-5 while blasting a few robots with his arm cannons. He had been shielded against the EMP weapon, so it had no effect on him.
"My cannon will need at least three minutes to charge back up so hold them off," said Paloma who was unaware of a robot sneaking up behind her.
"Keep your eyes on the enemy!" came a female voice before the robot was shot by a laser gun. Someone then managed to kick the robot away from her, causing it to crash into a building where it broke down.
"Thanks for the save, sis," said Paloma while turning to look at Juanita.
"Sorry that I'm late," said Juanita.
"It took a little longer than I thought it would to get everyone geared up and ready," she said while motioning to a group of citizens who were geared up with makeshift armor and some weapons.
"Alright, let's get this done," said Sparky. Back up on the ship, Atomic Betty and Noah were just getting over the shock of what they had heard.
"What did you do to your people to make them like that?" asked Noah.
"I did nothing!" said Lord Shatter.
"My universe is far harsher than yours, and over eons we had to give up our natural bodies in order to live," he said as his voice changed to sound like a hundred voices speaking at the same time.
"The robots only have copies of your people's minds, they're all actually inside you and act like a hive mind," said Atomic Betty.
"You're as clever as I have heard," said Lord Shatter, his voice having returned to normal.
