News Headline: Pre-Season Starts as Teams Battle for the Asian Elite Cup

Spurs are the latest team to confirm their participation in this year's Asian Elite Cup. In what has become the norm in world football in recent years, managers from teams all over the world are re-grouping to compete in front of capacity crowds before their domestic leagues even begin.

China PR will host the friendly competitions this year, which will consist of two groups of four teams, with the top two in each group making it through to the semi-final stage. FC Barcelona, Juventus and FC Bayern are other confirmed teams that will be joining Spurs in their group.

The other group will consist of Guangzhou R&F, Shandong Luneng, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain. When asked about the increasing importance of pre-season tournaments, the Guangzhou R&F manager said "It's true that these tournaments mean we have to regroup earlier and the players have less time to rest, but it's a great opportunity to try different line-ups and tactics and ultimately get the boys ready for the season ahead." he added "It's also important for our football club to treat fans that don't get the opportunity to see these top players from the stands. These tournaments really are special these days."

Tottenham Hotspur Training Ground

The sun was shining brightly in North London, the Spurs training ground was currently being used by the whole team as this was the first training session back from vacation. The entire place was buzzing with excitement as some players were busy playing 'One Touch' and others were doing crossbar challenges.

A very vivid day to say the least, Antonio Conte walked onto the ground with a smile on his face as he blew his whistle. Everyone gathered around and when there was silence he spoke.

"Alright guys, thank you all for showin up to practise so early. I hopped that most of you didn't spend to much time on the beach and some of you were taking midnight trips to the buffet." everyone chuckled at that say. "Now I just want to introduce you all to the new faces joining us, you all might know Naruto Uzumaki he's the youngster that has been in our academy." he pointed at the blond as everyone's attention went to him, being a shy person he was Naruto just waved.

"Our new signing Richarlison." everyone turned to the Brazilian that just kept a composured face. "Well today marks their first step in their journey to becoming starter on this squad, so treat them with care as they are now family. Now I want you all to pair up in two's. Naruto why don't you pair with Richarlison maybe this might spark a friendship with you two." Conte said with a smirk as everyone on the team began to pair up. Naruto was going to meet up with Richarlison as he was stopped by club striker and English favourite Harry Kane.

"Well lad, my name's Harry and I think you might know that but I just wanted to introduce myself." he stated as Naruto chuckled. "It's no problem I'm Naruto." he shook the man's hand. "Say is Migsy still at the academy?"

"Who?"

"The janitor, he was the guy I always saw when I was at the academy." Harry stated but Naruto replied that he didn't. "Well shame, anyway let me not keep you." with that the man left as Naruto met up with Richarlison.

"So since we're both new, why don't we learn together." Naruto spoke in Portuguese much to Richarlison's surprise. "You speak Portuguese?"

"Yeah, I'm from Portugal." Naruto told the man who just smiled. "Finally someone I can talk my mother tongue with, I'm Richarlison but you can call me Richie." he said as Naruto nodded. "Well Richie, I'm Naruto and I guess I'll be working with you."

"Yeah, I guess."

"So what will we start with?" he asked as Richarlison smirked. "Mano i Mano." hearing this Naruto just smirked. "Okay, okay. vamos ver o que você pode fazer meu novo amigo." Richarlison just nodded.

The first drill had Naruto defend Richarlison from trying to score a goal, he was allowed to either slide tackle him or try to bully him from the ball.

The second drill had the two run through an obstacle course that needed Naruto to dribble the ball while Richarlison sprinted through the course. They were both neck and neck but Naruto gave it his everything in that sprint.

"Ha!" Naruto sighed heavily as he was drenched in sweat, Richie was also sweating and huffing but he seemed to have enjoyed that session. "Well done amigo. You've done very well, better than I expected." Richarlison replied as Naruto nodded. "Good to see that you two are getting quite along, the good the chemistry the better we play." Conte stated as he was watching all the drills.

"Now Naruto if you want to be on the pre season squad. You'll need to show me everything you can do and to speak the truth you have but I'll need to see what the others can do." Conte told the blond as he walked away,

"You hear that you need to show everything." Richie stated as Naruto sighed. "That's the plan." Naruto replied as he and Richie continued the rest of the session doing drills, after training the pair met up to do some social activities around London.
