Chapter Nine: The Royal Family of Zathage
It's been one week since the day that they found Amira. She had been moved to Divinus Magia's infirmary. The reasoning for this was that Brandon and Ritchie would be better able to care of her due to their more extensive knowledge of devil slayer magic and how it works. If needed they could always bring her back or have people stay on the island. Plus, there was the fact that Emelia was medically certified by Horedora's Grand Royal Council. This made it so that she could help take care of Amira has well.
The daily life of the Diabolus family had changed slightly with what had happened. For one Ritchie and Brandon spend part of the day teaching Amira about her newfound powers and getting to know her has a sister. Which thankfully was going well, the three of them were developing a close bond that they hoped would last for the rest of their lives.
Meanwhile, while the twins were in the process of building their bond with their newly found sister, Drake was filling out paperwork and handling the guild for them. Has for the rest of the guild they were either busy working on the guild garden or training.
The guild was running rather smoothly with the efficiency being improved greatly with the addition of Emelia to help with the infirmary. Under her care the guild infirmary became more like a hospital in it's own right. With that being said it helped a lot when it came down to the life that guildmembers, especially those with higher ranks led. Afterall, everyone that was in a guild knew that there was quest that you didn't come back from without at least a few scratches and bruises at the least. It was just the way that guild life worked.
With that being said, the guild was doing quite well. The days went by with only a few problems outside of the normal ones the guild faced on a day-to-day basis. Today was no different has the guild was going about their day with the clam, or lack thereof, when a ship was seen coming to the island shoer. Now while this was common for the guild due to them living on the island.
The ships were normally ships that the guild called to bring the guild to the mainland for quest supplies or ships that only came once a month. Not that they needed them often it was normally just medical supplies that the guild leaders had ordered to keep the infirmary stocked and this month's ship had already arrived and departed the previous day.
With that being said, there was another difference between this ship and the ones that normally came by normally the ships had the flag of Atlantide on the sails. But this time this ship had the crest of the royal family on them instead. When she had spotted this Natalie went to get her cousins and told them about it. They knew this could only mean one thing. The royal family was sending them a message for them. It was rare that the royal family sent a message to a public guild, so this came has a surprise to the guild leaders and their guild members. But what surprised them more was the contents of the letter.

Ritchie and Brandon talked about it with their aunt, uncle and cousin and decided to apply. Afterall there were several benefits that it would have for the guild. For one, guaranteed financial aid should the guild need it and the right to participate in the Grand Magic Games for free. Of course it was required that they would have to participate every year after they joined but they wouldn't have to pay the admission fee that public guild had to after their first time participating in the year they were established. Which was around 100,000,000 Jewels. This was why many guilds had side businesses that they ran in conjunction with the guild itself.
About two weeks later at Oceanus Palace a woman was sitting in a room with a servant. She was coming the woman's hair and styling it to make sure that she looked her best. "There we go milady; this should do excellently for your meeting with the royal family of Atlantide. It's a shame that someone in your home castle wants you dead enough to make it so that your parents have to send you away. Hopefully the King of Atlantide will be kind enough to let you stay in his kingdom until this is resolved."
"I hope so has well Emmeline. You know that relations between Horedora and Terrarium were the only reason that my people were able to live such wonderful lives in the past and maintain a significantly lesser but still better then prior to the start of relations between Terrarium and Horedora to this day. We need to restore them so that Horedora can one day sustain a wonderful quality of life of it's own. Armenia and Horedora has a whole depend on this." The woman nodded has she looked at herself in the mirror.
She was in her early twenties and had medium length red hair that went down to her waist with a fair skin tone and green eyes. Her outfit consisted of a long green dress with a long beige colored sash that trailed down to her ankle in a triangle shape and the sleeves with a doble cold shoulder cutout with matching beige cuffs with light brown boots with sliver buckles and soles. She was accessorized by a gold tiara with a green gem in the center that matched her dress and white gloves with a beige gem necklace. She also wore matching green eyeshadow and light red lipstick.
"Indeed it does, your highness, shall I leave you to finish getting ready for your meeting with King Steven?" The woman nodded and Emmeline left the room to ensure that she could finish preparing for the meeting of the two royal families. The woman spends her remaining time before the meeting thinking of what she would need to say and everything that she needed to make sure of during it. Soon enough, the time came for her to make her way over to the meeting room and gave herself one last look in the mirror before nodding satisfied with what she saw and made her way to the room the meeting was set to take place in.
The meeting room was a nice decorated room with the flags of both kingdoms involved in the meeting decorating the room in a pattern in first seat on the right side of the table sat King Steven Aquarius of Atlantide and his fiancée, Princess Caroline of Magicalica, sat to his right. There wedding was coming up in the coming months and was planned to be about four months before the year's ending and her coronation has queen consort a month a few months later, so it made since that she was present at the meeting.
Across from him was the woman's father King Augustus Sullivan of Zathage. He was a king in his last forties with a fair skin tone and brown eyes and red hair and a matching beard. He wore a red robe with light purple trimming with a sliver shoulder pads and a matching red and purple cape with brown boots. His crown was gold and had a red gem in the shape of a star on it.
On her father's right would be where she would sit with her mother, Queen Veronica Sullivan of Zathage. She was the same age has her husband had the same fair skin tone has he did. She had red medium length hair and green eyes. Her outfit consisted blue dress with sliver trimming with matching sleeves to her daughter's dress.
The woman took her seat, and the meeting began. The king of Atlantide looked to make sure everyone was seated. "Greetings King Augustus of Zathage. I trust that my staff have been treating you and your family well?"
Her father nodded and smiled. "Yes, they've been treating us quite well. Thankyou for agreeing to meeting with us upon this day." The Zathageian king replied with a soft smile. Steve smiled happy to hear that their guest felt welcomed.
"Good… now then let's get into why we are holding this meeting today. You wish for your eldest daughter to live here in Atlantide until you find out who initiated the attempt on your eldest daughter's life and why. To be honest we aren't 100% sure that we can do this unless certain conditions are placed within the deal. For one there is a secret that needs to be kept secret from your younger daughter, Princess Francesca. You see we have a guild called Divinus Magia, they are just about to join the ranks of the royal guilds of Atlantide. It just so happens that one of the guild leaders is Prince Brandon Diabolus of Salode and their other leader is Prince Ritchie Diabolus of Salode."
"Wait are you certain of this? King Soren told us that they were dead… Though truth be told we never believed him when he said that." Queen Veronica asked with a frown. Steve nodded and showed them a picture of them from a resent party that they attended at the palace.
"Yes, we are we checked with the Horedoraian Grand Royal Council, and they told me that it was them. I even talked to them about this myself. Now, I'm aware that his so called "Father" has been trying to arrange a marriage with your younger daughter. I'm also sure that your aware that Brandon dose not and never has held any romantic feelings for her." Steve began with a frown.
Allen nodded in acknowledgement as his wife spoke. "Yes, we are indeed highly aware that Prince Brandon did not like our younger daughter in the slightest. In fact, there are a number of times that we had to sperate them, most of them caused by our daughter. Like this one time when Francesca went into the kitchen and somehow managed to get a glass bottle and hit Brandon with it because he was talking to one of the other children his age instead. Not to mention that there were many times that she had made Brandon uncomfortable. We tried to get her to understand that Brandon doesn't like her, but she is to suborn for her own good when it comes to her love life. The worst part is that King Soren and his wife don't see anything wrong with her and Brandon's "Relationship"." The queen explained with a frown at the thought of her younger daughter.
"Indeed… it's a pity that they were born to them instead of their aunt and uncle. To this day I still do not know why Former King Nolan and Former Queen Latoya didn't place more precautions in order to ensure that Soren wouldn't usurp the throne from his brother." King Allen replied to his wife explanation.
"I see… I'm glad here hear that your aware of your younger daughter's actions. It saves me having to explain the first condition that I am setting for your older daughter to be able to live here is that Princess Francesca Sullivan and anyone she is affiliated with is not to be made aware of Brandon and Ritchie's presence here in my kingdom. Secondly King Soren Diabolus of Salode and his allies are not to be made aware of their presence here either. Afterall has a royal guild leader Brandon will have no to deal with a toxic family dynamic on top of the stress of being a guild leader and a royal guild leader at that." King Steve replied with a firm tone.
"Of course, it wouldn't due for the Salodian rulers and Francesca's their marriage is meant to be nonsense to interfere with the most important law enforcement agency to force a unwanted marriage on a guild leader." Agreed Allen with a firm nod.
"Indeed it wouldn't, but if I may interject, how will we ensure that Francesca and the Salodian rulers won't find out? And if they do find out, how will we ensure that they will not be able to interfere with Divinus Magia and the other royal guilds?" The woman asked with a frown.
"Will ensure that only the necessary members of our staff that we know aren't working with Francesca and the Salodian rulers will be aware of this condition to the agreement. Furthermore, these members of the palace staff will be the only ones to interact with King Soren and his followers going forward. We will also reduce the number of people assigned to Francesca and increase surveillance on her activities. However, we shall due so gradually to ensure that she will not suspect anything." Allen replied with a nod.
"Very well father, so long has Francesca dose not know we should be fine… What of Brother Francesco and Sister Genevieve? Will they be told of this?" The woman asked her father with a frown. Her father shook his head with a frown.
"No… Despite Francesco and Francesca not being close Francesca goes through her brother's thing's to often without his permission to allow him to keep this sort of secret. Has for Genevieve it is a similar scenario only with her so called "boyfriend" Prince Kevin Payne of Amitina, doing it for Francesca. He still somehow gets in despite being band in favor of Genevieve's actually boyfriend Prince Wallace of Rudian. With that in mind, we need to make sure that Kevin doesn't find out either." Allen replied with a frown.
"Agreed we know that Kevin, Francesca, and the Salodian rulers are in an alliance with one another to get what they want. If one of them were to find out, then they would tell the others about this. So, it will be necessary to keep Genevieve and Francesco in the dark about this so long has they have a hold on them." Veronica nodded in agreement with her husband.
"Very well mother and father. I understand and I'm sure Brother Francesco and Sister Genevieve will understand if they find out." The woman nodded calmly, she knew her younger siblings and knew that they hated how Francesca impacted their lives. This wasn't the first time they had a keep a secret form them due to Francesca's antics and they understood back then. If they did back, then than surely, they would understand now.
"I'm glad that we can agree on this. Now let's get on to our part of the deal. You wish for your daughter to live here in Atlantide so she can freely pursue her dream career in music is that correct?" Steve smiled at the King and Queen.
"Yes, Josephine loves singing. Even abdicated her spot has heir to the throne to pursue it. Though Francesca didn't like that since she wants to live a "carefree lifestyle has the wife of a ruler." We've tried to explain to her that the life of the spouse of a ruler wasn't easy, but she just wouldn't listen. But getting back on topic Josephine felt that if she was going to have a successful career without her sister trying to take credit for it, she needed to start somewhere outside of Zathage. We feel that this alliance would be the perfect opportunity to set her up somewhere outside of our kingdom." Allen smiled happily.
"I see… Here is what well will offer. We understand that you wish for your daughter to also act has an ambassador to our kingdom. We will provide her the powers and position to do so. But for her safety we will also provide her with a series of false identities that she will have a part in making. One for her role has ambassador, one for her job has a singer and one more for her everyday life." Steve smiled at the couple and their eldest daughter.
The woman, now named Josephine nodded in understanding and agreement. After some more negotiations about Josephine's stay in Atlantide and they concluded the meeting. The parents spent the rest of the day with their daughter before turning in for the night and leaving the next morning.
