Welcome Back

At the burnt former Owl House an officer in a winter jacket walked out with a gas mask with two cops waiting outside. "Neeves, what's the result?"

"Clear, not a gas attack, although high Smilex in the food and drink, god I can't stand those looks." She said while removing the mask. "And tell the medics to send the corner here."

One of the officers Tyson spoke out. "God I swear this city is getting crazier every year."

The other, Kerrigan shivered. "Can't even go into a toy store without worrying about an explosive Jack in the Box."

Neeves pinched her nose. "Let's just tape the area and call the major crimes unit, before..." Soon their radios talked in.

"All units in or near the financial district respond to the local Gotham mall, lockdown in progress, suspicious package near the area."

"On it dispatch," Neeves responded as the trio then let their other comrades take over as they reached the scene with several berries placed around as they stopped and looked at each other.

"So, whose turn is it?" Tyson asked as they gave each other a stare.

"Remember, I had to be revived during the Halloween maze!" Neeves stated remembering when she had been exposed to a hefty dose of fear toxin, resulting in the middle age officer having a heart attack.

Kerrigan remarked. "Well, I traded my Jack in the Box for Tyson's riddle from New Year's two years ago."

"Let's just do this the three of us alright?" Tyson replied as the trio slowly approached the package which was the size of a refrigerator they tore the wrapping off showing a giant statue of a polar bear with several stuffed animals and toys inside, Neeves took one and opened it which came with a letter.

"No signs of drugs or explosives, and the letter claims it's from the local church so nothing unusual than just the large amount of toys and..." Neeves then stood still as her hands began to shake as her eyes widened in terror before letting out a scream.

"GET IT OFF ME!, SO MANY... AHHH!" She fell to the floor screaming backing away from the stuffed bear she had held.

"Neeves!?" Tyson asked as he ran to her just as she pulled out her service pistol.

"STAY BACK! STAY BACK!" The officer stated before pulling the trigger.

Soon the people around the area began screaming in panic and running off trampling a few people in the process.

At Wayne manor, the warm temperature was felt near the fireplace as a tree was placed in the living room as Luz watched.

"You need help?' She asked as Alfred turned his head.

"I've been part of her majesty's royal air service, I can handle a few ornaments." He stated while wrapping it with lights. "I'm sure master Wayne will join us shortly."

He looked and saw the significant bat signal in the sky.

"Then again, it seems his work has caught up with him."

Luz mumbled. "What kind of caretaker doesn't even watch the kid they take care of and let their servant do all the work?"

"I assure you there is a reason for it."

"It better be a good reason. Luz said while placing an ornament on the tree.

"Those eyes and... Teeth, those large sharp teeth..." Neeves muttered while strapped to a gurney and taken into an ambulance. Several civilians were caught in the officer's sudden freakout and were being treated for bruises and broken bones by paramedics as Tyson took a statement.

"I don't know what happened, one minute she was holding a stuffed bear the next... she's freaking out and shooting at civilians." He said while the dark knight was investigating the crime scene.

"She was under the influence and heavily hallucinating," Batman stated as Tyson looked at him.

"Neeves? No way she's been clean since day one."

"I didn't say she willingly took them, her mental stability broke due to high levels of adrenaline," Batman stated examining the fallen toy. "Traces of dopamine and a mixture of toxins, only one person who's responsible."

Tyson was dumbfounded. "Scarecrow? At this time of year!? What kind of sick experiment is that psycho planning near Christmas?"

A production line was active with several people in gas masks and gloves stuffing teddy bears and winding up dolls while placing small vials into them.

"We are being paid for this right?" One of the workers asked.

"Ten grand per toy box shipped so about two grand per all of us, guy says money isn't a problem." Another replied as they stitched a bear together.

Looking overproduction was a thin slim figure wearing brown rags, a brown sack stitched over a gas mask, a noose tightened around the neck with a straw hat on top, a brace that held sharp syringes with sharp claws attached to it, and a long-bladed sickle wrapped around their waist.

"So why is someone so terrifying making these?"

"You want to ask questions than be my guests if you want to end up like them." The worker stated gesturing to the corner of the room seeing workers laying in a fetal position muttering to themselves while a few laid dead from stab wounds.

"So shut up and pass me the sewing needle." The scarecrow watched them from the office, pulling the string of a doll as he spoke with the factory manager who was tied to a chair and gagged.

"Terrifying isn't it? In just a few days on Christmas morning instead of joy and happiness, the city will be filled with screams of fear and horror." He said holding the small doll in front of the manager's face. "Harmless you think? Well after a pull the string."

He then let go of the string the toy simply spoke a few words before letting out a spray of gas. At first, nothing happened until the manager looked at the toy or more precisely what was in its place.

A laughing chuckling plastic figure leaked blood from its eyes as the mouth opened showing several sharp teeth as it began to crawl into her mouth she started to choke on her own saliva before the doll burst from her stomach and spoke. "Momma..." The manager's heart then beat as fast as it could before letting out a high-pitched scream as the former psychiatrist cackled.
