A Friendship began

A blue flash darted amongst the friends and relatives. Even at four years old sonic could run twice the speed of anyone in the whole of emerald hill and his grandfather was determined he was going to be the fastest hedgehog in all of Metropolis. He race between Chickens, Cats, Dogs, Hedgehogs and fox's to get to the action. He wasn't going to miss this for the world.
"Push !" His mother screamed. Karla the Hedgehog sat squat legged at the end of the table he arms wrapped around a baby hedgehogs legs. "It's another boy." Sonic stared hard at the basket next to his mother. Four baby foxes sat in it. "Just one more !" His mother yelled. The fox squeezed. She squeezed with all her might and finally a tail shot out. And then another. "Okay, maybe two more." The mother groaned. It had already been a long seven hours work getting the others out.
And then, as if by magic, the fifth fox, the smallest of the group, just fell out. It was the cutest thing any of them had ever seen and two bushy tails came from him.
"He has two tails !" A hippo nearby commentated and slowly Karla lowered the fox into the box and drew the curtain.
"No guests please," She turned to the fox, "And you get some sleep."

Sonic ran, tripped and scrapped his knee, but unlike most hedgehogs his age he stood up calmly and tied the shoe lace of his red sneakers. The pain that zoomed up his leg only lasted a few minutes and then it faded. Sonic was relived. He walked slowly to the box, now divided into Baby cot section and stared at the babies. Name tags sat above each child's head and sonic read them.
Dave Prowler,
Poppy Prowler,
Julie Prowler,
Ash Prowler,
Miles Prowler.
His eyes stopped on the last one. The fox with two tails was already famous and he was only two days old.
"Good luck with that tails," Sonic muttered as he walked off. And he did not know it at the time. But really that was the moment. A Friendship was born and soon nothing would be able to keep them apart.
