Here's Naruto's age difference in each chapter, while it seems unnecessary as age hardly matters in Arknights, but since I'm adding some elements of the Naruto series like chakra and whatnot. Annnnd~ given that some Jonins in the Naruto series were child soldiers, age makes no difference whatsoever... I don't know what I'm talking about aren't I?
Let's just get into today's chapter, shall we?
Naruto's Age
Five Years Old - Orphanage
Six Years Old - Training with Jiraiya
Nine Years Old - Three Years Time Skip
The Ninja Doctor
In the year of 1079
"Alright kid, Let's call this a day and tomorrow we'll resume your training." Jiraiya looked over to his student who was gasping for air. Naruto's legs were shaking uncontrollably as his training with the legendary sannin was no easy task. They have been training since this morning without breakfast (Jiraiya lied on that part), he was tired, low on chakra, and almost thought he was going to die under Pervy Sage's so-called training.
Primarily they were focusing on his taijutsu, doing a bunch of strikes, blocks, dodges, counters and avoiding counters. Jiraiya said once he gets it down and pieces everything together, he can create his own unpredictable fighting style, which involves him to strategize his opponent, coming up with battle plans, and observing any signs of weakness. He struggles during his first day learning taijutsu, but gets it down in weeks, he's still a bit slow with his movements and knows if he wants to take down Pervy Sage, he needs to do more than just pure taijutsu and strategizes to take him down.
Next was genjutsu to help him break through illusions, Genjutsu can be used to manipulate others - similar to brainwashing - by feeding the victim illusive suggestions. It is deemed the most dangerous because strong users can trap victims from long distances. However there is also a downside, genjutsu rarely employed, most ninjas preferring the real, tangible effects of ninjutsu and taijutsu over the imagined effects of genjutsu which hold little influence over the physical world.
The reasoning behind Jiraiya is teaching him genjutsu and how to break them is simple, there might be time where he'll have to face rouge ninjas somewhere down the line, ninjas are usually living in Higashi, but there were large numbers of ninjas gone rouge during the battle of Ursus and Higashi. So he is unaware how many ninjas still exist in the world.
So far his training with genjutsu proved to be his weakest and most difficult task at hand, as he sucked at it and breaking out of the hold is no easy feat, but he'll get the hang of it soon enough.
If he can't master either of these jutsu's, he'll improvised it in his own unique way. Jiraiya sometimes tends to underestimate him during training, so he focuses solely on dirty tricks and tactics to gain the upper hand, it's like what Jiraiya said... Ninjas don't play fair. It sometimes gets results... and without food for the last couple of weeks.
His shadow clones were doing their side on mastering the Chidori, he quickly added lightning elements into the Chidori with ease, but it also felt unstable, unsafe, and incomplete. Jiraiya has said it almost rivaled the Rasengan but not really as the former has more destructive force behind it, while the Chidori on the other hand is more of an assassination jutsu meant to pierce through his opponent, he shutters to think what happens if the Rasengan and Chidori would ever clashed against each other...
The Chidori is still an effective jutsu in his arsenal for now, the raw power flowing through his hand, the electricity and sparks cackling, and distant sounds of birds chirping could be heard if you listen closely. Sometime in the future, he's gonna have to harness and improve the technique further to prevent drawbacks, the tunnel vision Jiraiya mentioned was right as he felt nausea from using the Chidori. At most it seems he can only use the Chidori twice a day, but with his large chakra reserves it isn't a problem for him, just draining him of his large amount as the results.
His clones just dispersed as memories of them using the Chidori filled his head, he slumped down to the ground as he groaned as his head was in pain.
"Damn it, kid... You're gonna be the death of me someday." Jiraiya sighs before heading over to his student and picking him up. Good thing the kid is still light, mostly not eating the right amounts of calories and nutrients.
"Hehe... I'm not gonna give up, until I reach... my dream." Naruto quietly said before his eyes shut, the deep slumber awaits his arrival.
Jiraiya just smiled at the kid and patted his head, "Sweet dreams, kid, Your parents would've been proud of you."
Once the sannin put Naruto in his sleeping bag, he took a stroll on the dark skies surrounding the two. It has been three years since he took Naruto out of the orphanage, and suffice to say he rather grew fond of the kid, if he wouldn't call him that ridiculous nickname he kept calling him, he was the legendary sannin for christ's sake! He deserved more respect than that!
That aside the kid is growing and getting stronger, he was both glad and worried at the same time. The good news is that Naruto is going to be a powerhouse in the near future, his dreams on becoming a Doctor and helping people regardless if they are Infected or not is noble, but also downright idiotic and could get him killed. The world isn't a safe place for either of them, when he was born in Higashi he was thrust into war, according to his sources the war between the Kougon clan and Mitsumoto clan is still lively as ever.
Jiraiya doesn't belong to either clan. He was sorta like Naruto in a way, an orphan that doesn't belong in clans, a talentless loser who was destined to never amount to anything. He proved them wrong when he showed his hard work, as his hard work beats the higher prodigies in the ninja school. He was made genin when he proved his worth, it took him nearly decades until he finally made jonin, he started his own spy network connections to aid his endeavors and going through dangerous missions. It was tough at first as some of his clients aren't exactly... the nicest bunch, still... he made lots of close contact over the years and that's good enough for him.
His training in Mount Myoboku and the toads has helped him greatly, During his youth he tried to summon a spiritual animal one day, then all of the sudden he found himself standing in some mountain and was greeted by a small old frog in brown cloak, he greeted Jiraiya and said the Great Toad Sage was expecting him. That's where he would go on to become both talented ninja and a pervert without equal.
Of course the Great Toad Sage also told him about a prophecy, He foretold that the Child of the Prophecy would be a student of Jiraiya that would bring a great revolution to the world of Terra. Jiraiya's actions would determine if this revolution would be for the world's salvation or the world's destruction.
At the time Jiraiya thought the child of prophecy was in fact Minato, because of his natural genius. But since Minato's death and Jiraiya thought he failed, he would later be reverse-summoned back to Mount Myoboku, and the Great Toad Sage told him that the prophecy still continues, as the son of Minato and Kushina still lives. Jiraiya would soon learn about Naruto, and used every contact through his spy network connections to find his missing godson.
It took six years but eventually someone pointed out the boy's location. An orphanage, how wonderful. He would soon meet Mitsumi a Sankta in Feline disguise, she was beautiful and it took almost every inch of his power not to act perverted in her presence. The two of them had a long talk about Naruto, how he was treated, his likes and dislikes, and such.
Eventually the time has come for Naruto to fulfill the prophecy. Mitsumi was saddened to hear that Naruto was chosen since she was rather fond of the boy. She made sure (forcefully) told him to write letters about Naruto's progress, how he was doing and was doing god's work, the woman was a saint... but in Jiraiya's case a complete nut job. She seems pleasant, kind, and a gorgeous woman on the outside, but when he really gets to know her she sometimes had a strange glint in her eyes, showing tendencies that normal nuns wouldn't do, and overall cared too much about Naruto's wellbeing.
Jiraiya suspects that if he didn't find Naruto sooner, the nun would do something she would regret, because he has multiple ideas on what that is... (heheheh!), but in all seriousness the woman is okay, he recently sent her a letter about the brat's wellbeing. It's tough running an orphanage and tending to care for all the brats in that place, but he got to remember where he also came from, an orphan turned legendary sannin.
"Hn... Minato, I'll do everything in my power to train your kid. He's got a bright future ahead of him." Jiraiya looked up at the skies, a smile on his face as he remembered his first student and saw him as a son.
"Alright, kid, today is going to be your first mission." Jiraiya said as the pair were on the outskirts of a small village nearby, one of his connections told him about a missing ninja gone rogue recently, and was told that this ninja wasn't special, just average at best. But if anything taught Jiraiya is don't underestimate any types of ninja, regardless if they are genin, chunin, or jonin ranks.
"What's the mission, Pervy Sage?" Naruto asked his mentor.
Naruto was a bit excited upon hearing his sensei telling he has a mission for him. He's been training for three years nonstop, and he was getting good graphs of his chakra, taijutsu, and bits and pieces of kenjutsu on the side.
"Settle down there brat, don't get too cocky and cranky. Just because I trained you, doesn't mean you are a badass sannin like me." Jiraiya pointed to himself looking smug about it, "But anyway, I want you to look at this poster I got from one of my contacts, specifically a rogue ninja that left Higashi fairly recently." He hands Naruto the wanted poster.
Naruto calmly took the poster and read what it said.
"Kagame Yoshikira. He is wanted for killing three genin and one jonin, he fled Higashi and was last seen somewhere in North or West, his current whereabouts is unknown. The reward for either capture or death is for 1000 LMD, if captured alive the pay will increase for 500 more, if dead retrieved something of his personal value, his weapon should suffice and should be turned into Lungmen Guard Department for the rewards." Naruto reads as he ponders what he should do...
"If you want my honest opinion, I would stick with dead. While bringing them alive would pay handsomely well, I wouldn't want to hear all the nagging and loud shuffling if I were carrying them." Jiraiya shrugs as he normally sticks to whatever best works for him.
Naruto took his sensei's word in his thoughts, but immediately tossed the idea out, as he wants to end this without resorting to violence as possible. "I'll go with the non-lethal route first, maybe I could talk sense, or sneak up behind him and knock him out somehow."
"Hey, It's your job kid, not mine. Bounty Hunting work isn't easy as there are a lot of competitions in this kind of work. The reason I am handing this job to you, is because I want to see what you can do outside of your training. I'll keep a close eye on you and document on things of improvements you need to work on, you can do this quietly or guns blazing, from here on out, this is your show. Make me proud kid." Jiraiya finished his sentence and gave his student a warm smile on his face.
Naruto nodded at Jiraiya as the pairs left their campsite and headed to Naruto's first bounty target.
"Hey Pervy Sage, is there anything else on this guy you could help me with? Like what type of jutsu's, weapons, or any weakness I should be aware of?" Naruto turned his head at his sensei as he said that.
"Well, judging from the guy's appearance... I'm gonna guess he's an earth style user. I might be wrong on that but it looks and sounds to me that he is, however if he has weapons or weaknesses is entirely up to you. It's up to you to figure out the planning and how to exploit his weak spots, I can't hold your hands forever, kid, you're gonna need the experience for you to grow." Jiraiya replied and while harsh but necessary for Naruto's first step.
"But is there anything that could help me beat his earth style, though?" Naruto asked.
"Yeah, Your lightning release could beat his earth release. Lightning is naturally strong against Earth, because it can easily travel through and break the ground apart." Jiraiya stated that Naruto's lightning release gave him the edge against Kagame's earth release.
"Okay, that makes sense at least. But let's say this guy is also a Wind user, how could I topple that?" Naruto asked in speculation if Kagame had Wind Release as well.
Jiraiya actually stops and thinks about it, before resuming walking and turning to his student. "If he does have Wind it could beat your Lightning, because it is a natural electrical insulator, so... assuming this guy also has Wind, you can try to counter it with your own Wind. Wind users are sorta like rarity in these parts as most ninjas don't have wind, and it's sorta like a dying breed at this point, so consider yourself lucky you're one of the Wind people, kid." Jiraiya shrugs while replying.
Right now they are just speculating on what Naruto could do against Kagame. Naruto doesn't doubt his skills, as he was trained by Jiraiya for over four years, but this rogue ninja could have more experience than him. He pulled out the poster in his bag and saw what rank Kagame was before his deflection, he cursed his luck as Kagame is a rogue jonin.
"You figured it out too, didn't you? I didn't want to worry you or tried to get you to back down. But this is perhaps the only chance for you to prove your worth, not only to myself, but to the world as well." Jiraiya didn't look over to his student as he found out Kageme's rank.
"Well this gets me one step closer to my dream?" Naruto asked his sensei.
"I don't know kid, you want to become a Doctor and save lives, but sometimes you have to take lives in order to protect those precious to you." Jiraiya stops his tracks and so does Naruto.
"Listen to me kid, and listen well, because I'm going to tell you this once. You have to somehow find balance being both a Doctor and Ninja in your daily life. I can't help you in the Doctor category since I don't have any interests in medical stuff, but here's a lesson in the Ninja category. In the Ninja World, those who break the rules are scum, but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum." Jiraiya said as he turned and faced Naruto's direction.
"In the future I know you're going to make friends and allies alike, but along the way you'll make enemies as well. If you were in a position of choosing which ones are more important, the mission or your comrades, which one would you choose?" Jiraiya ended as he stared at his student's eyes with a cold expression.
Naruto found himself lost in those eyes of his sensei... his questions about whatever is more important, the mission or comrades. Well, Naruto doesn't have friends at the moment and Jiraiya seems sure he'll gain some in the future, and if he ever finds himself in that sort of situation as everything around him slows down, and the fate of his actions will flip upon him, then...
"I'll become the best Doctor Ninja ever! I'll always cherish my friends, no matter the cost! Because that... is my Ninja way! Believe It!" Naruto grins at his sensei as he finds his resolve and conviction.
Jiraiya was pleased and happy with his student's resolve. That type of charisma this kid has sorta inspiring in a strange way, there aren't that many people around that could be like this kid. The future of Terra truly is shouldering on this kid, he can only hope that he can push this kid on the right path.
"Alright, enough yapping. Let's go find your bounty target before someone else gets him first." Jiraiya said as Naruto hurriedly picked up the paste with his sensei.
"His name is..."
Naruto knelt down on his right knee as he surveyed his surroundings, the forests are dense, the tall trees, outskirts of Lungmen and near the Ursus borders. The area is part of the unexplored territory where neither Ursus or Yan has completely taken over yet. He picked up a trail that resembled footprints worn by sandals, it took him a few seconds to know it wasn't his or Jiraiya, said sannin was perhaps somewhere in the forests watching over him, or reading and writing for his book.
Regardless, he figured this must be Kagame's trail. The fact that Kagame hadn't completely left the East, means he doesn't know the lay of the land very well, if he were to enter and travel through Ursus territory, he would've been publicly executed by now. So he must have been staying low to avoid the locals, or he's planning to rob unsuspecting caravans on the road recently.
Earlier he saw multiple bodies on the road, wagon was blown to hell, wheels gone, mercenaries dead, merchant dead, and all the goodies are gone. The only thing he could picked up on was a broken kunai on the side of the wage, it seems Kageme's used explosives tags and attached them on each kunai's. A perfect robbery no doubt, for a complete amateur.
The rogue jonin made several mistakes leaving trails, footprints, and the kunai behind. Probably didn't think a ninja or at least an aspiring ninja, would come after him. Higashi is far from here, but did he really think his actions would go unnoticed to the people outside of Higashi? The Lungmen Guard Department received complaints and reports of missing caravan shipments and Kageme Yoshikira is the suspect.
"Hmm... He's got to be close by." Naruto murmurs as he stands up and body flickers his way to follow Kageme's trail.
Naruto ponders what he should do in this situation. He could talk things out with Kageme and tried to ask for a peaceful negotiation, but it doesn't seem like that'll happen anytime soon. His discovery of the bodies back there was proof he isn't worth talking over, so the only option is either take him alive or dead. He rethinks about Jiraiya's opinion on killing Kageme, takes his weapon and be done with it.
But he wanted to ensure justice was served as Kageme deserves much more than a quick death, While his crimes aren't exactly surprising and rather common, he would rather capture this guy alive and let the LGD do whatever they want with him.
With his mind made up, he stops his tracks as he stands atop of the tree branch. Across from him is a small campsite, he slowly emerges beside the camp as he surveys the surroundings. He went over to the campfire and saw the smoke, he took one knee as he put his hand on the spot.
"Hmm... The fire went out recently, whoever was here packed up in a hurry." He mutters as he stands and gathers more clues to find his target.
Naruto turned his head and saw empty tin cans lying around, water bottles, junk foods, etc... The amount of food just laying around here is just suspicious. He doesn't see any carts or wagons nearby, so the total amount of the supplies here is just too much for just one person.
"There's no doubt, Kageme was here recently, he shouldn't have traveled far." He needs to pick up a trail for his whereabouts.
He double checks the area to find Kageme's trial, it's a good thing Jiraiya has trained him as he did. Otherwise if he didn't have ninja training as a bounty hunter, he would've called this an instant defeat. He took deep breaths before concentrating on his surroundings, listening to the wind blowing in each direction, becoming one as the winds themselves. Focus his instincts and pour a small dose of his chakra within it. As he puts his right hand onto the grassy grounds...
Jiraiya explains to him that there are different types of ninjas known as Sensor Ninjas. Can feel the presence of chakra when it is especially powerful or released in large enough quantities. Skilled sensor types can sense any chakra within a radius of several dozen kilometers, as well as hone in on a specific chakra signature to perceive its movements in greater detail. It is also possible for them to tell if a person is lying by detecting any fluctuations in their chakra, sense when other nearby sensor types are using their abilities, and determine whether they or other individuals are under the effects of genjutsu.
Naruto asked Jiraiya if there's any possibility that he's also a sensor ninja, Jiraiya says it's possible that Naruto is a sensor ninja, as sensors are a rarity in the ninja world. Naruto begins training to calm his mind and become with it. It wasn't easy as he had a hard time with it at first, but with Jiraiya's guidance and patience, he was able to activate his sensor abilities in three days.
"Bingo." Naruto stood as he found his target, he turned his head and confronted the missing ninja. He was standing atop of the tree above him. Kageme Yoshikira.
"Hn... So you finally noticed me, kid? I knew you weren't an ordinary brat around these parts, you're a ninja too aren't you." Kageme stood up from his spot as he finally revealed his presence to Naruto.
Kageme was a darker-skinned male with short blond hair, dark brown eyes, a blue Hitai-ate and representing his clan's symbol, but it was scratched out, displaying he was no longer loyal to his clan. He wore a black cloak, black trousers, and black ninja sandals.
"You're Kageme Yoshikira?" Naruto asked him.
"That's right. I was once the best ninja in my clan, until I decided I have enough of their crap and left. Those bastards in Higashi are busy fighting against each other, while I skipped town overnight and rode out on my own, it didn't take long for them to find out that I was missing, send every ninja in the clan to capture me but failed." Kageme replied back as he bragged about his escapes and the troubles his clan put him in.
"What is your problem with Higashi in general?" Naruto said as he hopes to pry more information out of the man.
"My problem? It seems you didn't study your history long enough to know about the Bloodpeak Campaign. It was a massacre, the Ursus Empire invading which forced the Kougon and Mitsumoto clans to unite to drive out the invaders out of our home. I was there you know... the chaos, the blood, the bodies of my clansmen around me." Kageme answered as flashes of memories came back from the back of his mind.
"The clans managed to drive the invaders out, but after the battle was over. The friends I made with both clans conflicted with me. I thought with the Ursus Empire gone, we were going to settle on a truce and end this feud between us. But no, it's just back to business and pretend none of it ever happens. I fought with the Mitsumoto clan for eight long years... and I finally reached my breaking point. No more am I going to sit by and take orders from them anymore, so that's it... I left, and became a criminal to both sides of the clans and soon half of Yan." Kageme explains more of his past.
Naruto listens and takes in the information. The Kougon and Mitsumoto clans are still fighting each other to this day, one day he's going to have to pay a visit to his homeland, and hope he could find a way to end the blood feud once and for all.
But for now... He needs to deal with Kageme first.
"You need to pay for your crimes, Kageme, maybe you'll receive a parole if you serve your sentence." Naruto spoke as he wanted to talk things out with Kageme.
Kageme however sneered and wasn't having any of it. "Parole? You must be one of the dumbest kid I have ever met. Do you know what they do to criminals in Lungmen or Higashi? I'll start with the former first, hard labor isn't exactly my forte and I wouldn't want to spend another ten years doing hard labor in the Originum mines."
"Higashi is public execution. If I step a single foot back there I'll be in chains and forced onto the dirt, looking up and seeing many of my former clansmen looking down on me, and waiting for my executioner to chop my head off. I would rather have an honorable death, if it means avoiding what those bastards will do to me." Kageme would rather die than be sent to either places he wouldn't want to go back.
"Then we're at an impasse, I can't allow you to escape." Naruto body flickers himself onto the tree Kageme was on.
"Try it then, kid. Let me see what kind of a ninja you truly are..." Kageme grins as he pulls out a short sword from his back.
Naruto pulls out a kunai from his poach, as he decided to go first during the standstill.
"Water Style: Great Collision Wave!" A torrent of water left Naruto's mouth, surging towards the rogue ninja, who was too surprised to see in time and was swept into the nearby trees. As Kageme got his bearings as he tossed several kunai's over to Naruto, as the young ninja dodged but his eyes widened when he saw the red explosive tags trailing behind the kunai, as once the flying sharp objects were close it exploded.
Naruto emerges from the gray smoke, but Kageme was behind him with another kunai in hand, Naruto turns to dodge the incoming slash near his neck area. The two ninjas were clashing against each other, Kageme was more experienced and skilled ninja, while Naruto was younger and adapter to any sorts of style and tricks. As Naruto pulls out his own explosive kunai and throws it towards the rogue ninja.
Kageme dodges the incoming attacks as he moves ahead with intense speed to get the drop on Naruto. As the young ninja only backflips and kicks the back of Kageme's head, as Naruto's foot lands on the side of the tree and flashes through hand signs in a blur, so fast that Kageme couldn't comprehend the fast movement.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!" A fifty foot tall water dragon appeared out of thin air, as the dragon then rushed at Kageme at near jonin speed, Kageme was shocked to see the kid using a B-ranked jutsu, and decided to stop playing around and used his own style as well.
"Earth Style: Earth Wall Jutsu!" A tall foot tall wall made out of earth appeared, as soon as the water dragon rammed into the wall blocking out the current user from the other side. Naruto cursed himself as he already knew that Kageme is an earth style user, but he didn't expect him to have this type of jutsu. As his dragon was losing water and needed to plan something else to get past the wall.
Naruto flashes through hand signs in another blur so fast, "Lighting Style: Chidori Spear!" A bluish lightning appears in his left hand as Naruto thrust his jutsu towards the earth wall. Kageme saw the lightning piercing through his wall, as blood dripped out of his mouth as he was stabbed by the lightning attack. The reasoning how the lightning easily pierce his earth wall is two reasons. One, The wall was trying to defend the user from getting hit by it, and two is that the wall is slowly becoming muddy due to the water dragon's continuous assault.
Kageme couldn't withstand his earth wall any longer as soon as it drops, the water dragon charges at him in intense speed. The experienced former jonin isn't going to give up that easily, as he ignores the lightning in his chest as he flashes his own hand signs to cast another jutsu.
"E-Earth Style: Mud Body Technique!" Kageme's body started to deform into a mud-like-monster-creature. As the Chidori Spear dissipates as the lighting disappeared, Kageme quickly healed his chest and reformed his body back into his human form.
Naruto was huffing as using the Chidori was draining, and it nearly took half of his chakra reserves to cast it. He needs more practice to improve the move and add more variation in the future, but as he finished his thoughts he heard Kageme was cackling all of the sudden.
"Heheheh... That was perhaps one of the most enjoyable I have in years. Whoever trained you has taught you good, kid, It's been a long time since anyone has forced me to use my jutsus." Kageme grins at Naruto and the young ninja swore he saw a small glint in the man's eyes.
"I thought every ninja uses jutsus?" Naruto said as he was still huffing.
"Some do. Some don't. Since Terra has its own variation that differs from chakra, Arts as it is called, can be used to non-chakra users. It's a powerful ability that only certain individuals have, the Infected individuals can instead use Originium within their own body, but here's a thing... it can significantly accelerate their infection. If used too much their bodies will cause pain and discomfort, as their bodies will disintegrate and wither away..." Great Kageme is giving him history lessons now?
"Answer me this, How did Oripathy started?" Naruto needed to know as much information as he can of Oripathy.
Kageme shrugs his shoulders, "I don't truly know to be honest, I'm not exactly sure how it started myself. All I know is that it is a disease by direct or prolonged exposure to Originium. The rest is completely out of my league."
Naruto frowns and knew it was pointless to gather information from Kageme, but he at least learned that certain individuals will attract Oripathy, by direct contact or exposure if being around it for too long.
"But enough about that, tell me this, Why are you interested in Oripathy anyway?" Kageme asked as he was wondering what the hell this kid's question kept popping up out of the blue.
"None of your concern." Naruto replied back.
"That's fair. It's common knowledge at this point, I only asked because Oripathy is all around Terra, some of the Infected prayed that there is a cure out there somewhere. But if you want my opinion..." Kageme's eyes darkens.
"There is no cure."
"Once you get those black crystallized spots around your body, it's over, an irreversible cancer that is slowly killing you from the inside. No amount of doctors, nurses, or scientists can reverse the effects." Kageme said.
"But enough talk, let's back to business, kid." The rogue ninja tosses more explosive kunai at Naruto, as the blond narrowly dodges the attack, Naruto starts planning any signs of strategy he could use to get the drop on this guy.
Naruto decided to dash towards the direction of the trees, "Running away! I thought we were getting along just fine!?" He heard Kageme's voice.
Kageme was trailing behind him just as Naruto hoped he would, as he dodged the oncoming kunai from the rogue ninja, as Naruto pushed himself forward to find a good opening.
"Enough of this!" Kageme flashes hand signs as he forms in one of his arsenal, "Earth Style: One Hundred Kunai!" Several earth kunai's appeared out of thin air, as the flying objects flown towards the young ninja, Naruto turns and saw the oncoming kunai's, his eyes widened as he couldn't dodge all of them.
"Wind Style: Great Breakthrough!" As Naruto exhales the Wind in his mouth, blowing away most of the hardened kunai's, but few of the objects managed to hit Naruto's right shoulder and chest. As the young ninja groaned a bit before he sped up to the nearby tree to hide.
Naruto reached behind and grabbed his poach, and there were several medical equipment like bandages and painkillers. He quickly bandages his injured right shoulder, he can worry about his chest later, as he finishes healing himself up. He heard Kageme's voice.
"Are you ready to give up yet? I'm really starting to get tired of our little game of tag." Kageme holds up another kunai in his left hand, as he surveys the surroundings to find Naruto.
Naruto huffs a bit as he reached to his left pocket and pulls out two smoke bombs. He started to come up with a small plan in his head, before he grips the two bombs tightly, before he throws them towards Kageme.
Kageme's eyes widened upon seeing the two small objects, as gray smoke exploded.
"A smoke bomb?" Kageme mutters and feels a presence behind him.
Sounds of kunai's battling each other inside the smoke, yellow flashes indicating the battle, as Naruto's voice groaning in pain. As soon the smoke disappears Naruto was on both knees, huffing as blood leaking out of his mouth. Kageme was standing above him with a blooded kunai in hand.
Kageme smirks and looks down on Naruto, "Just give up."
Naruto huffs as he gets his bearings, as he tries to stand on his right knee.
"I just have one thing to say..."
"I don't care what you say!" Kageme shouted as he pierce his kunai on Naruto's stomach, as Naruto's back collided on the oversize tree.
"Just die already!" Kageme pushes his blade into Naruto more.
"Give up huh..." Naruto grins at him, before he disperse into the smoke clouds.
"Huh?" Kageme's eyes widened as his face was full of disbelief, Naruto soon emerged behind him with his left arm ready to knock the rogue ninja out.
"Yeah about that." Naruto knife chops the back of Kageme's neck, as the rogue ninja's face slams onto the tree, causing him to fall onto the tall tree branch.
"...Even if you take me down, another like me will just take my place." Kageme rapidly said as he chuckled, before slowly lifting his head to look at Naruto.
"As long as we're cursed to live in this terrible world, then there can be no peace, no cure for the infected, ever..." Kageme grins at the young ninja.
Naruto remains silent as he hears Kageme's words, as it reaches into his desires and dreams on becoming a Doctor, no peace and cure for the Infected...
"Well. I'm going to break that curse one day. If there's truly peace in this world, then I am going to find it. Not just peace, but for the cure of Oripathy as well, the Infected are still people like us, and if I'm going to travel to the ends of the earth to find the cure, then so be it. I will never stop looking." Naruto said to Kageme with determination and resolve.
Kageme couldn't help but think about what this kid just said, it seems like a fools hope and what this kid is going to do is downright stupid. There is no cure for this world, no amount of peace could truly unite the people of Terra. But something is telling him that this kid in front of him is different...
"Hn... Who, who are you?"
"My name is..."
Naruto sighs as he leaves the LGD building, he received his payment from them and thus finished his mission. The whole ordeal took a lot out of him then he originally thought, he turned in Kageme who was knocked unconscious, the guardsmen took in his appearance and told him how a young boy himself manages to capture this wanted man.
It took lots of discussing, lots of restraining, and acting as natural as possible. But he eventually got the reward for his hard work. Paperwork was a bitch to deal with, but hey, at least he got paid in the end.
"I see you got yourself a nice big fat paycheck, kid." Jiraiya's voice shuts him a bit, as Naruto turns and sees Jiraiya waving at him.
"Pervy Sage? Did you witness the fight me and Kageme did?" Naruto said.
The sanin nodded his head, "Sure did kid, I witnessed every ounce of fights, details, jutsus, and other things you two were doing. You tried to talk him into turning himself in but failed, you two battled each other out, talked a lot, used jutsu's, gathered information from him, and on top of that you managed to trick him into thinking he got you in the end. You replace yourself with a shadow clone, and thus defeat the rogue ninja of the Mitsumoto clan. I'm sure the clan will thank you for taking care of their missing ninja problem." Jiraiya listed out the things Naruto did.
Naruto listened in and couldn't help but sigh in relief, he managed to escape the life and death situation and came out on top. But he shouldn't celebrate just yet, he knew this is just the beginning of things. Kageme Yoshikira was a powerful foe, no doubt, but he was far from the deadliest. There are more powerful enemies out there he hasn't met yet, but once he gains more experience and truly sees what this world has to offer, he's going to be the one that'll change things.
"By the way kid, I got you these while you were in there talking to the police and whatnot. A gift from yours truly." Jiraiya grins as grabs a small sealing scroll and summons out the gifts.
Naruto opened the box, revealing a new outfit. Naruto was at a loss for words as he looked at the new clothes, and he was taken out of his thoughts when he heard Jiraiya speak. "I know you simply like the color orange, I didn't want to go for the bright ones they have in stock, so I had them custom made what I thought looks good on you. Toning down the orange seems like it'll look good."
"Let's go to the nearby under bridge so you can try that on." Jiraiya body flickers both him and his godson below the bridge, he gives Naruto a small nod before walking out to give Naruto privacy.
Naruto quickly removes his old clothes and tries out the new ones. A minute later, donning his new outfit, which consisted of a dark blue long sleeved shirt with dark orange stripes going from armpits to his hips, two bands on both sleeves, a giant red and black swirl on his back. His pants were much the same as his shirt, dark blue ANBU style pants that had the same dark orange stripes, continuing from his hips, disappearing into his dark orange sandals.
Jiraiya walks back to see his godson and couldn't help but smile.
"Looking sharp kid! Looks like you're going to be breaking a lot of hearts." stated Jiraiya
'My lord, he looks almost exactly like Minato... he would've been so proud of you kid.' Jiraiya thinks as he pictures Minato in Naruto's place, the resemblance of the two is nearly identical, the same blond hair, ocean blue eyes, with the exception of the kid's whisker marks. He was truly Minato's son alright.
"It's awesome! Thank you so much." Naruto thanked his godfather, as tears dropped down his eyes. A gift he thought would never be given to him since the day he was born, Jiraiya often talks a lot about his father and how he was a hero to both clans in Higashi. It made him happy to hear that his father had done so much despite never knowing him.
"Open the last one, kid." Jiraiya points down onto the last gift beneath Naruto.
Naruto nodded and wiped his eyes, moving down to his knees and picked up the box in his hands, pulling the lid off.
"No way..."
"I take it you like it kid?" Asked Jiraiya as he watched Naruto pull out a short-sleeved long white haori, closed in the front by a thin, orange rope. The haori was decorated by red flames-like motifs on the edges, on the back was the kanji for 'Demon of Terra'
Naruto was at a loss for words as he put the haori on and moved around it. He was surprised that there was almost no loss of movement.
"You didn't need to do all of this..."
"I may have not needed to, but I did. You deserve to have it. The Will of Fire burns within your father, Naruto, and it will burn within you. Make him proud, kid." Jiraiya went over to Naruto and pats his head, he gives the kid a warm smile and is proud of him.
Naruto couldn't help but shed more tears as he hugs his godfather, his only long lost relative has given him an important gift, The Will of Fire. The meaning of Will of Fire is ninjas who love, cherish, and fight to protect their hopes and dreams. It is what gives each shinobi the strength to continue fighting against all odds, building willpower and strength of character. It is also the hopes and dreams of the previous generation being passed to the next generation.
Naruto was passed down by his father and now carries his Will of Fire, his fire burns within him as it mixes with his own Will of Fire. He'll become a Doctor who helps people whatever he can, and a Ninja who defends the weak in the shadows.
"Now tell me kid, What is your name?" Jiraiya said to his godson.
Naruto wipes his tears and gets his bearings, he couldn't afford to look weak, a ninja shouldn't show signs of weakness to anyone.
"My name... is Naruto Namikaze, the son of the greatest ninja who died protecting me from the Nine-Tailed Fox. I inherited not only my father but my mother's will as well. I also have Uzumaki's blood flowing through my veins, but I choose Namikaze to honor my father." Naruto said as he raised his right hand and formed a fist.
"I'm going to become the best Ninja Doctor. I'll do whatever it takes to find the cure for Oripathy and save the Infected, I never go back on my word! That's my Nindo; my Ninja way!"
Alright I think I'll stop here right now, only the second chapter and I think it looks good so far.
So here's a quick recap on why this story was created. I played Arknights on occasions, and one day I decided if there's any interesting fanfiction featuring Arknights. There's some good ones, but what shocked me a bit is the lack of Naruto and Arknights content.
I'm not going to go on and explain the details why I think Naruto x Arknights could be a good story.
As someone pointed out this is going to be a universe fusion between both series, the world of the ninjas clashed with science, technology, Arts, and Oripathy disease mixture in one. It's going to be a challenge that I hope I'll get right it in the end.
Notice how Naruto keeps mentioning 'Ninja Doctor' at the end? Well, He's going to be an active ninja anyway, meaning ninja first, doctor second. I know there are medical ninjas in the Naruto series, and I might take some inspiration for this story if it comes to that, the term Ninja Doctor doesn't exactly apply in the world of Arknights (At least I think so?).
I'm going to use my own headcanon for this story, so if anyone is going to point out 'Main Theme' of Arknights, I'll try to get to it down the road at some point. Remember I'm not going to focus on the main story of Arknights as much, since the lore, world, and other things we still don't understand.
HuntersShadow points out if I would do the movies and filler, well, I'm not sure I'll be comfortable doing the fillers. I'm not a fan of the gags very much (Mecha-Naruto is an exception to that rule). But the movies, I'll try to find a way to incorporate some of the elements into this story.
No Boruto elements, I don't watch Boruto, I don't care about Boruto, and I don't want to hear it. I might take some ideas from the show but only if it suits this story. But because 'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' is still part of the Naruto franchise... (me sighing in the background) I'll see what I can do.
I think that's a wrap, I'm going to find something to eat, and I hope you'll all enjoy this chapter, and hopefully I'll write more future chapters in the near future.
Always believe in your Will of Fire, folks, see you around~
