Chapter 2

Training

It was a few days since Nyssa started work at Endeavor's Agency working under Shoto. Nyssa got a routine down where if she needed to take a computer home with her and finish some of the work she was allowed to, but she was usually able to finish everything before she picked Miki up from school. Shoto seemed more relaxed now that he knew that Nyssa was back and alright. He had been worried for his friend going missing for five years.

Nyssa stood in a coffee shop to get Coffee for her and Shoto. She had texted him to see if he wanted something and he sent Nyssa what he wanted. Miki was enjoying her school. Nyssa checked her phone.

"Nyssa? Nyssa!" A familiar voice called. Nyssa turned and nearly got tackled to the ground by a pink haired and skin girl.

"Mina?" Nyssa said, hugging her friend. Momo and Ochaco hurried over and joined the hug.

"Deku wasn't joking when he said you were back." Ochaco said.

"Shoto did confirm she was back." Momo said.

"I'm right here." Nyssa said.

"We were so worried when you disappeared without a word." Mina whined.

"I'm sorry for doing that to you. I'm back now and not going anywhere. I promise." Nyssa said.

"Good. What happened to you?" Momo asked. Nyssa rubbed the back of her head.

"I'll tell you when I'm ready. I haven't told Shoto yet either." Nyssa said. The girls share looks.

"I'm surprised you haven't told Shoto. He was the one worried most about you." Mina said.

"You two were close in school. Just at least tell us when your ready." Ochaco said.

"I will. I promise." Nyssa said.

"If Shoto will let you get away, would you like to meet up with us, Jiro, Toru, and Tsu for lunch sometime?" Momo asked.

"I would love to. I'm sure he let me." Nyssa said. Nyssa gave her friends her number since it changed since she last saw them. Her order number was called. Nyssa grabbed the coffee and said her goodbyes to her friends, happy to be reunited with them.

Endeavor's Agency. Nyssa opened the door to Shoto's office.

"Shoto. I'm here with.." Nyssa stopped when she saw who was in the room. A spikey blonde hair boy and a red hair boy stood talking to Shoto. Both turn when Nyssa entered. "Bakugo. Kirishima." Kirishima grins.

"You weren't joking Icy Hot when you said Water Girl was working here." Bakuga said.

"You haven't changed much, Bakuga." Nyssa said. Shoto couldn't help but smile a bit at the comment.

"Just ignore him, Nyssa. Its good to see you." Kirishima said, hugging Nyssa. Nyssa gave him a one armed hug back.

"Thanks Kirishima." Nyssa said.

"Tch. Be nice to have another sparring partner, water girl." Bakuga said, as he grabbed Kirishima and pulling him towards the door. Nyssa shook her head and brought the Coffee over to Shoto. Shoto grabbed his.

"I ran into Mina, Ochaco, and Momo at the shop. They want to steal me away for lunch one day. Would that be alright?" Nyssa asked as she took a sip of her iced Mocha.

"Just let me know when." Shoto said, earning a huge smile from Nyssa. She heads to her desk. "Do you still have your costume?" Nyssa turns to look at Shoto.

"I do. Why are you asking?" Nyssa asked.

"We are training after lunch today. You'll be my training partner here and there. My father gave the okay." Shoto said. Nyssa nodded.

"I'll be ready, but its been awhile since I battled." Nyssa said.

"I'm sure you'll be fine and training will help." Shoto said. Nyssa nodded as she headed for her desk to start her work. She checked her phone to see messages from her friends along with Jiro, Toru, and Tsu, who Ochaco gave them Nyssa's number. Nyssa smiled. She knew she wouldn't be able to hide she had a daughter from her friends.

'But Shoto is to be the first to know about Miki before I tell the others.' Nyssa said, looking at Shoto.

Later that afternoon. Nyssa had to run home and grab her costume but Shoto gave her time to go get it. She grabbed something to eat quick before she headed back to the office to change.

Nyssa stepped into the training room. She was surprised that the costume still fit her. It was a black long sleeve shirt with a black strappless corset wrapped around her. She had black legging with brown boots that were slip resistant for using her water quirk. Her long blue hair was pulled up into a messy bun. She saw Endeavor, Bakuga, and Izuku up on a balcony overlooking the training room. Shoto stood with his back to her. He was in the same suit that he had at school. He was still handsome as Nyssa remembered him. Nyssa shook her head to get the thought out of her head.

Shoto turned when the door shut and his eyes widen at the sight of her. They might have grown, but she hadn't changed to much. Shoto felt his checks go hot and saw red tint on Nyssa's checks.

"This is going to be an interesting fight. Nyssa's power is water and she can use it to an advantage against Shoto's ice quirk and Fire is useless against water. Its why they always like training hand to hand combat." Izuku said.

"Shut up Nerd. I've seen both of them fight." Bakugo growled as the two friends stood facing each other. Endeavor sighed. The two friends still haven't changed when it came to arguing.

"You ready?" Shoto asked.

"I am, Todoroki. I hope you don't plan to hold back." Nyssa said with a smirk. Shoto couldn't help to smile.

"I have no intention to, Aqua." Shoto said. Aqua would have been Nyssa's hero name if she had joined her friends in the Pro Hero work. "I hope you won't hold back either." Nyssa's smile widened.

"You two ready?" Edeavor called. Shoto and Nyssa nodded. "Begin."

Shoto sends his wall of ice towards Nyssa. She didn't move. Izuku's eyes widen. The ice almost reaches her when the ice shatters without her touching it or the ice touching her. The water hits the ground and moves towards Nyssa. Shoto notices her eyes were closed, but she opens them. They were almost glowing a dark blue. With quick movements, she made the water lift and twirl around her before Nyssa sent it flying at Shoto faster then a blink of an eye.

"Woah. I forgot how good she is." Izuku said.

"Tch." Bakugo said. Shoto dodged the water and used a ice path to slide towards Nyssa. He sent fire her way, that she blocked with a wall of water. "I wonder how she trained while she was gone."

"She isn't ready to disclose yet what happened to her." Endeavor said as Nyssa brought down the water and blocked a kick from Shoto. Izuku and Bakuga looked at him. "I don't think any of you should pressure her till she's ready." Shoto and Nyssa were battling hand to hand combat. "That girl could of been one of the top 10 if she didn't disappear."

Shoto grabbed her shoulder on accident trying to get the upper hand. Pain shot through the burn on her shoulder like wildfire. Nyssa had to bite the inside of her mouth from screaming in pain. She knew Shoto wasn't trying to grab it. Shoto's eyes widen when he saw pain shoot through her eyes. She tried to hide the pain, but couldn't hide it fully.

"Wha.." Water shot up in front of them, seperating them. Nyssa clenched and unclenched her fists as she made the pain subside and then brought the water down to see Shoto about to attack. She moved fast and tackled him to the ground. Shoto avoided her shoulder as they wrestled. Shoto pinned her to the ground. Both were breathing heavily. Nyssa's eyes widen as she sees their faces inches from each other. Both noses almost touching. Her checks burn and Shoto was turning red almost as the color of his burn scar on his face.

"That was awesome." Izuku said, pulling the two out of the stares. Shoto stood up and held out his hand for Nyssa. Nyssa took it and he pulled her up.

"Your still a good fighter." Shoto said.

"I'm still a little rusty." Nyssa said, pushing a strand of hair out of her face.

"You should have your shoulder looked at. I'm sorry if I hurt you." Shoto said. Nyssa shook her head. "Is everything okay with it?"

"Everything is fine. Just grabbed me a little hard." Nyssa said, looking away from Shoto. Shoto frowned.

"Nyssa.." Shoto said, reaching for her, but she pulled away.

"It's nothing, Todoroki. Just... Just drop it. Please." Nyssa said, turning her back to him and running out of the training room, leaving Shoto in shock and the others confused.

'What is she hiding?' Shoto wondered as the door slammed shut behind her.

AN: Sorry if I'm terrible at fighting scenes. Don't worry. Not gonna keep Miki a secret from Shoto long. Til next time.
