Whew, here's the next chapter and I am hoping to get a few more chapters out since I'll be going on vacation in a while. But I enjoyed this episode cause of the use of footage of MammothRanger as the warrior who the Nasty Knight fought and what Zack goes through cause I imagine more than one person has gone through the thought of their friends forgetting their birthday til they actually celebrate it.

Chapter 10 – Happy Birthday, Zack

It was late at night and David was helping the Rangers prepare the Juice Bar for a surprise party to celebrate Zack's birthday. Meanwhile, Ernie was trying to work a machine that Billy had made to bake a cake for the celebration. Eliza worked with Trini and Kimberly to blow balloons for the party as a banner for the party while David hung up streamers on the wall. Billy danced to a song he was listening on a Walkman as he walked to the girls as they worked on the balloons. Eliza smiled and shook her head.

"You're right, Kimberly." Billy told the Pink Ranger. "The performers assembled to create this harmonious tune transcend all predecessors to this genre of music."

"Uh, what did he say, Trini?" Eliza asked, looking confused.

"Yes, translation, please?" Kimberly added.

Trini smiled, "He likes the music."

Though Eliza smiled and shrugged, Ernie began to cry for help as the cake machine began to cause the cake mix to blow up and spill out, getting him cover in the mix. He cried for Billy who still was bobbing his head to the music that he was listening. Luckily, Eliza, Trini, and Kimberly saw Ernie was having trouble, so Eliza and Kimberly went to Billy.

Getting his attention and removing his headphone, Eliza signed to Billy as Kimberly translated, "'Happy you like the music, but I think Ernie's having a problem.'"

Pointing to Ernie who was nearly drowning in the cake mix, Billy went to help and quickly turned it off. Kimberly and Eliza laughed. Luckily, everyone managed to clean up the mess and Trini worked on the banner for the party, Eliza sat with David and Kimberly at the counter while Ernie cleaned himself from the mix and Billy worked on the machine.

"How it's doing, Billy?" Kimberly asked with Eliza signing.

"I fail to ascertain why this appliance isn't working." He told them. "I mean, the molecular mix re-arranger's still intact."

"Problems?" Jason asked as he came in, looking at everyone.

"The cake-o-matic that Billy built for Zack's surprise party, it went on the war path." Ernie told him. "Nearly drowned me in cake mix!"

"I think that's a bit of exaggeration, Ernie." David said, looking at him.

Eliza laughed with Kimberly as Jason told him, "Listen, Ernie, I wanted to thank you for keeping the place open late tonight so we could decorate for Zack's birthday party."

"Boy, is he going to be surprised." Ernie said, smiling. "And speaking of surprises! You guys will never guess what I found out about the Power Rangers."

"What haven't we heard about them?" David asked, while the others kept quiet.

"The Power who?" Billy asked, trying to feign arrogance.

"The superheroes with the large dinozords?" He explained.

"You mean the one who have the colored costumes and a variety of weapons?" Eliza asked,

Nodding, Ernie said, "That's them. They'll do for Angel Grove what Batman has done for Gotham City."

"I've seen them on TV a number of times." David said, thinking on when he has seen.

"So what have you heard, Ernie?" Eliza asked, smiling at his excitement.

"I've heard they're regular humans, just like you and me!" Ernie told them, having Eliza, Jason, and Billy look at each other.

"Well, you know, I heard they were space aliens from a distant planet." Jason told him, trying to keep their identity secret.

"Aliens, really?" David said, looking unamused. But Ernie was amazed.

"Yeah, David, but we should keep the alien stuff under our hats, don't want a panic on our hands." Eliza said, smiling and looking at him.

Everyone laughed while Ernie left, trying to wrap his mind around the information he got. While he stepped out, the group in the area got back to work so they could surprise Zack. Unfortuately, around the same time, Bulk and Skull came, hoping to cause some chaos and trouble. Bulk smiled, seeing the group.

"Well, well, well." He said, trying to taunt them. "If it isn't the nerd patrol from Angel Grove High."

"Can't you two read?" David said, stepping up. "The place's closed."

"Yeah, to nerds like you." Bulk said, looking at him and trying to scare him.

"Hey, Bulky, look at what we have here-" Skull said, holding the banner before Trini and Eliza tried to grab it. "A birthday party. Awww."

"We would have invited you, but animals aren't allowed." Kimberly said to them, trying not to show she was upset.

Laughing then blowing his nose onto the banner, Bulk taunted, "Party's over, kids."

Groaning, Eliza wanted to go and beat him, but David stopped her. But they watched as when Skull tempted to have a 'fun' time with Trini, she backed him into a table of paint cans and after Bulk popped a balloon Kimberly was trying to tie close, Jason taunted him into running into a pole, then fall into a box of balloons. Then when Skull tried to get back at them, he also ran into a pole then into the cake mix.

"I hate party crashers." Kimberly said, sighing.

Trini and Eliza smiled, so they got back to work after the two left. Watching as Trini was redoing her work on the banner, Billy said, "Her proficiency with complex illustrated characterizations is quite impressive, isn't it?"

"What did he say?" Jason asked.

Eliza and David shrugged and Kimberly said, "Don't look at me. I don't speak Billy."

"He said I draw a good cartoon." Trini translated. "Thanks, Billy."

"Okay, we've got all the balloons blown up, the banners are made." Kimberly said, checking everything they had done. "What else is there left to do?"

"I think we're about done." David told her.

"Well all we have left to accomplish now is just to make sure that Zack doesn't find out about the planned festivities prematurely." Billy told everyone.

Suddenly, Ernie ran in, panicked, "Hey, you guys, I just saw Zack pass by my office window! I think he's headed this way!"

Panicked, everyone quickly ran around and got all the decorations down so the area looked like it usually does, then everyone hid behind the counter as Zack came in, humming.

"Hey, Ernie." He said, walking to the counter. "What's with the late hours?"

"Just catching up on some work, Zack." Ernie told him, trying to cover the real reason for the late hours open. "And I'm all by myself, too?"

"Yeah, right." Zack said, not completely buying the excuse. "Trini's mom told me the gang might be here. So I just came down to see if I saw them."

"I haven't seen anyone." Ernie said, shaking his head. "There's me, my stack of papers, my bowl of popcorn, a few tables, a couple of chairs…."

"I get the picture; I get the picture." Zack said.

"Yeah, you get the picture." Ernie said, smiling.

Zack asked, "Listen, if the gang comes around, tell them I'm lookin' for them, okay?"

"Sure, sure." Ernie said, nodding. "No problem."

Turning away, Zack wondered, "I wonder where they disappeared to. I'll see you, Ernie."

As he walked out, Ernie waved, "Take it easy, Zack!"

Once he left and there was the sound of him walking off fainted, Ernie whispered, "Okay, the coast is clear!"

"Whew! That was way too close.." Kimberly said, breathing as they got up from their hiding spot.

Eliza smiled and later that night, Baboo, Finister, and Squatt were making a special present at the request of Rita so they could finally crush the Power Rangers, making the sword for the monster that defeated a powerful warrior from one of the worlds they conquered. Rita cast a particularly powerful spell to revive the knight and smiled, ready to strike at the Rangers again.

The next day at the high school, Eliza held her books, walking to see Zack pass by and looking down. She looked as Jason, Trini, and Billy also saw and they walked to Kimberly, who looked upset.

"Kim, what's wrong?" She asked.

"Zack thinks we forgot his birthday." She told the other Rangers.

"He'll be okay," Trini reassured.

"You guys, he seemed really bummed." Kimberly said, looking at them. "Do you think the surprise party's a good idea?"

"Of course, I mean his feeling of disappoint right now will only serve as his enjoyment later on." Billy said, hoping to cheer her up.

"Yeah, I mean he's gonna be so surprised later, we're gonna have to pull him off the ceiling." Jason said, smiling. "He'll be okay until then."

"You're right." Kimberly said, smiling and with the bell ringing, the five remaining Rangers headed to their respective classes. Attending to their classes, the Rangers focused on their studies til they heard the familiar beeping of their communicators and went somewhere private to respond to Zordon.

"What is it, Zordon?" Jason replied.

"Zack is in trouble." Zordon told them. "Rita sent one of her creatures to attack him. He needs help fast."

"We're on our way." Jason said, looking at everyone. "Come on, guys. It's morphin' time."

So the five changed into their forms as Rangers and found Zack, already morphed, as he fought a powerful and deadly black knight. Bringing out their weapons, all six Rangers fought the black knight, all of theirs weapons expect for Zack's Power Ax were ruined by the power of the sword the knight wielded.

So they brought out their Blade Blasters, making a pyramid to fire at the knight but he sent the attack back. Gasping for air, Eliza looked at the knight as he was grown

"How are we supposed to beat this guy?" She asked.

However, Jason had everyone summon their Zords and formed the Megazord. Once formed, they summoned the Power Sword to fight but the knight's attack damaged even the Power Sword, having the Megazord fall to the ground. Suddenly, Zack realized something.

"I just realized why ugly man's beating us!" He told the others. "Any energy we throw at him, he just reflects back at us! That's why our weapons are burned out."

"Any plans to how to combat that?" Eliza asked.

"Reflect his energy back at him, along with a bit of our own!" Zack said.

"Morphenomenal, Zack." Kimberly said. "We'll give him a little bit of his own medicine!"

"Let me have the honor of zapping Sir Buckethead." Zack offered, everyone nodded.

They sent a blast from the Megazord's eyes, hitting the sword and holding it in place for the Megazord to get back up on its feet. They covered the Megazord in energy, breaking the knight's sword and finally beating the knight. Eliza sat back and breathed.

Cancelling their transformation, the five told Zack they needed to stop by the Juice Bar. As they got there, Zack was confused.

"I don't know why we need to stop by here." He said before noticing the room was dark. "Wait, why is it so dark in here? Where's Ernie?"

Suddenly the lights turned on and there was a big 'Surprise!' with a lot of their friends there. Zack was surprised and touched, giving his team a hug. Eliza smiled as everyone began to enjoy themselves at the party, even though Billy and Ernie got covered in cake mix.

Well, sorry about that, Billy, Ernie. I was kinda happy that the gag of the cake machine not working came back at the end of the episode and well, if I could, I would have put Goushi or a image of him to comfort him before Rita appeared.

Next time, a fair visits the city, Trini brings her cousin to meet the Rangers at the fair, Eliza meets the interperer that is assigned to meet her, a Putty turns Trini's cousin into a cardboard cutout, a pineapple monster appears.
