NOTE: This episode is different from the one in the series because it follows what happened in the last episode of this fic.
Episode 10: The Perfect Storm
Command Center (Early Morning)
Tommy, Kimberly, Jason, Kat, Billy, Wes, and Jen were reunited at the Command Center, discussing what Tommy and Kim hear the other Rangers say and already planning something to make them see that they need to stay by Jake's side.
Especially now, after what Jason and Kat are telling them.
-Are you telling me only Orion spends time with Jake now? -asked Wes.
-Apparently, the others can't look at Jake so they avoid him but Jake is not stupid, he knows something is up. -said, Jason.
-More than anything he is sad. He misses his friends and of course, Gia. -said Kat, looking down.
Jen nodded and got up, grabbing her bag, and getting something out that she showed the other Rangers before sitting down again.
-We call this a traveler. We use it when we need to go to another dimension. Alex sent it to me and told me I would know when to use it. -said Jen, looking at the device-. It seems he already knew this was going to happen.
-We believe the best way to go is to send the Rangers to a dimension where they are not Rangers and Jake fights alone so they can see the difference. -said Wes, looking at Jen-. It will not be easy for them, but they need to understand that this way is not the best way to approach the new capacities Jake seems to have now.
-Wait… what if the Rangers find themselves in danger? -asked Kimberly.
Wes and Jen looked at Billy and Billy looked at Tenshou with a smile.
-Tenshou will go with the Rangers, his frequency will allow them only to morph into their Megaforce or Super Megaforce suit. -said, Billy.
-I'll make sure they come back, Rangers. -promised Tenshou.
The veteran Rangers smiled at the robot and then, looked at each other. It was time to show the Rangers that the best way to protect Jake is to be there for him, fighting together.
Command Center (Later that Day)
When the Rangers got called in, they appeared and were surprised to find out Wes and Jen were there and Jake was not, confused, they waited until Tommy, Kimberly, Billy, Kat, and Jason appeared and stood beside Wes and Jen.
All the Rangers except Orion lowered their eyes when they saw Jason and Kat.
-We heard about what you said a few days ago, Rangers said Jason.
-And we also have seen Jake wondering why his friends and girlfriend ignore him now -said Kat.
The Rangers were about to reply when Jason raised his hand and they quickly got silent. His years as a leader still made Jason a force to be reckoned and now more than ever, he was going to show his ranks to save his son's sanity.
-You are wondering and in doubt and that's why we are going to give you a chance to travel to a dimension where you are not Rangers and only Jake fights as a Ranger -said, Jason.
-What? You can do that? -asked Troy.
-Time Force, remember? -said Wes, looking at Jen.
-I can. This is a traveler, a device that will teleport you to that dimension but be prepared, Rangers. We don't know where you going to end or what happens in that dimension. -said, Jen.
-Tenshou will go with you, to make sure you can still morph if you need to but you will only be able to use your Megaforce or Super Megaforce suit so, be careful. -said, Billy.
Jason looked at the Rangers, serious, almost as if he was mad at them and he was, just a little but he also understood their doubts and fears and that's why he relaxed his expression when he talked to them.
-You have the chance to find out if Jake is better with or without you, Rangers. After this, if you want to leave, we will let you go and find a way to defeat the Armada. -said Jason, looking at Orion-. I know you have been by my son's side, Orion, that's why you have the choice to stay or to go with them.
-I'll stay just in case a monster attacks or Jake needs help. -said, Orion.
Jason nodded and then pointed to the Rangers to stand behind Tenshou. The Rangers walked and stood behind Tenshou, putting their hands on the robot's shoulder but still unsure when Jen smiled at them.
-Press the traveler and you will be teleported, you can come back by pressing the traveler twice. -said, Jen-. Good luck, Rangers.
The Rangers looked at each other and then before they could regret it, they pressed the traveler and disappeared with Tenshou while the veteran Rangers looked at each other and then at Orion. The Silver Ranger nodded and sighed, looking at the space where the Rangers were.
-I hope this opens their eyes. -said, Orion.
-We hope that too… -said, Jason.
The veteran Rangers nodded and all of them except Billy walked out of the Command Center to go look for Jake and have some time with the Green Ranger.
Harwood (Alternate Dimension)
The Rangers arrived at their destination and the first thing they saw shocked them. Their city was… safe it looked so much to the city they came from that for a second, they thought the traveler failed. They looked at the device, confused when they hear someone coming towards them.
When they raised their head they saw X-borgs but they were different. They used swords and were covered by armor, other were bigger and stronger, almost as if they were Elite X-borgs. The Rangers prepared to battle and ran towards the X-borgs but they were quickly defeated as these X-borgs were nothing like the ones they know.
-Rangers! Get back! -said Tenshou.
The Rangers got up and reunited when Tenshou when they got surrounded by these X-borgs. There was no way to get out of there…
-Go! Go! Megaforce!
The Rangers saw someone flying over their heads and suddenly, the Megaforce Black Ranger appeared in front of them. For the Black Ranger was easy to defeat these X-borgs, using his Snake Ax and his laser beam and the others saw how this Black Ranger was as strong or even more than their Jake.
When he defeated the X-borgs, the Black Megaforce Rangers turned around, walking towards them while he demorphed.
-What the hell are you four doing here!?
The Rangers were surprised about Jake's tone, his casual demorphing in front of people, and his appearance. This Jake had dark hair but there were two white lines on each side of his hair and his face and arms had scars, probably from previous fights. He was wearing a muscle shirt and training pants and he looked so angry at them.
-Jake, it's me… Noah. -said, Noah.
-You mean the guy who laughed at my face when I gave him his Rangers powers? -asked Jake, looking at the others-. I don't know what you are doing here but you refused to become Rangers and laughed at my face and my family's legacy so get out of my face.
-Wait, Jake…
Gia grabbed his arm but he got free of her grasp and looked at her with nothing but hate, for Gia, that was enough to stop her, used to the loving way Jake would look at her.
-Don't touch me, Miss Perfect. You and your friend here took five seconds to throw your morphers at me so I don't care whatever you or she have to say to me. -said Jake who then looked at Troy-… and you, at least you grew the balls to come here and see what is going on, now get out.
Without another word, Jake walked away while the Rangers looked at each other confused even Tenshou tittles his little head but if these Rangers were something stubborn so they made their choice and followed this Jake towards where he was going, hoping to find the reason for his hate.
Command Center (Alternate Dimension)
The Rangers followed this Jake until he got to the Command Center, they knew they weren't supposed to make him angrier but they wanted to know more about what happened there. Why are the veteran Rangers not helping Jake?
As walked inside the cave they saw why, under the keys of every Ranger there were their broken helmets, all of them. The Rangers looked at each other, not believing what they are seeing, Gosei was lifeless and this Dimension Tenshou was off. There was only one member of the team the Rangers knew active and they saw him walking towards the screens, looking at his notes before he raised his head to look at them.
-RoboKnight!? -asked Noah.
-Uhm? Who are you? -asked RoboKnight.
-You have to be kidding me…
Jake comes out of the gym, pulling one of his Blackshirts on. There are more scars on his body but it seems his training has been even more demanding that the training Jake goes through. Jake walks towards them but before he can get too close, RoboKnight stops him.
-Wait, they seem different. -said RoboKnight.
-We are different. We come from another dimension.
At the sound of Tenshou's voice, Jake looked down, noticing the robot for the first time. The emotion on his face was so evident the Rangers felt their heartbreak when Jake knelt and touched the small robot's head.
-Tenshou…? -whispered Jake.
-Jake, we came from another dimension but it's me, Tenshou. -said the robot.
Jake looked at him with the first smile anyone has seen him and he hugged the robot, carefully, as if he thought Tenshou was going to disappear. Tenshou, looking at his form in this dimension, hugged Jake too and even RoboKnight put a hand on Jake's shoulder for support.
After a few minutes, Jake broke the hug and got up, looking at the Rangers again. He still didn't trust them but at least, now he knew for sure they wasn't the same people he trusted and failed him.
-Sorry about before, you must be their versions from another dimension? -asked Jake.
-Yes. -said, Troy-. In our dimension, we accepted the power and became Power Rangers with you.
-Yeah…I don't know why 'me' in this universe would turn his back on you. -said Noah, looking away.
-Neither do I but that's what happened. -said, Jake.
Emma took a step towards the broken helmets of the Rangers, unable to look away. Jake saw her and walked slowly towards them, standing beside Emma while he watched the helmet of the Red Mighty Morphing Ranger.
-They all died fighting the Armada…-said Jake, loud enough so the Rangers could hear him-. RoboKnight and me are the only ones left to fight but we are not sure we will be enough.
-They all…how? -asked Emma.
-They were stronger… I'm able to stop them thanks to my Snake and Bastro's help but still… we don't know how much longer we can keep Earth safe. -confessed Jake.
-Bastro? You have Bastro here too? -asked Gia.
Jake turned to look at her and then, he extended his hand, making a White Lion appear beside him. Bastro looked at the Rangers and walked towards them, sitting down when the Rangers looked at him, impressed the Lion was part of this universe.
-There are more versions of me out there, Rangers, just like there are more versions of Jake's Snake and the other spirits… even the spirits you hold and that were supposed to be part of you in this dimension. -said Bastro.
-Our spirits are here? Are they contained? -asked Troy.
-No, they are here. -said, Jake.
Jake closed his eyes and slowly, the Dragon, the Shark, the Tiger, and the Phoenix appeared. Jake opened his eyes and his Snake moved around his arm, where he could pet him while Bastro moved to stand beside his master.
-You… you have them all? -asked Noah.
-Yes, without other Rangers they would die so I share my vital energy with all of them. -said Jake, smiling when he saw Noah turning pale-… and yes, that means I'm slowly dying.
The Rangers looked at Jake as the spirits put their heads around his shoulder and arms, all of them seemed to trust him completely but they also seemed sad and they felt the same. They worried about Jake but this Jake was alone and dying and only RoboKnight was there to support him.
Only because they didn't become Rangers.
Troy was about to say something when the alarm was heard and RoboKnight activate the images of the city while Jake walked towards him, seeing X-borgs and a monster walking towards a building. Jake's expression went to panic when he recognized the place.
-They found it…-said Jake.
-What? What is it? -asked Troy.
-The shelter. We created it when the Armada came and now they found it…-said, Jake-… RoboKnight, stay and activate the defenses. I will hold them off.
-We will help you. -said Gia, taking a step towards Jake.
-No, you are not strong enough to fight these X-Borgs. -said Jake, serious-. Go to the shelter and help the civilians but be careful, you may find yourselves in this dimension.
Before anyone could stop him, Jake ran, screaming his Megaforce morph. The Rangers looked at RoboKnight that quickly pressed the keyboard, activating the alarm of the shelter and the defenses before Emma put a hand on his shoulder.
She had an idea.
-Do you have the Megaforce morphers from this dimension? -asked Emma.
-What are you thinking? -asked RoboKnight.
Gia stood beside her friend, reading her mind, and smiling at her when she saw RoboKnight leaving and coming back with the morphers.
-We are going to find 'us' in this universe and show them that Jake truly needs us. -said Gia, looking at her morpher in this universe-. I should never have thought he would be better without us.
-We all thought that at some point. -said Noah, looking at the helmets of the veteran Rangers-. We didn't think about the consequences we saw them.
-Rangers… we made a mistake and I'm sure that's what Jason wanted us to see now, we can solve that when we get back but in the meantime, let's help this Jake. -said, Troy.
-Yes!
RoboKnight saw the Rangers leave and nodded to himself. He didn't know how they got here but he believe it was meant to happen, even if it was too late for this Jake. He looked down at Tenshou and pointed to the screen.
The small robot nodded, moving to Troy's screen, and helping RoboKnight to raise the defenses. Today is going to be a long day.
Inside the Shelter (Alternate Dimension)
It doesn't take long for the Rangers to find themselves in this universe. Troy, Noah, Emma, and Gia were sitting near a fireplace, talking while they watched the images of the Black Megaforce Ranger defending them from the monster attack.
Not wasting time, the Rangers approached their counterparts in this universe and when they saw them, they got up, quickly. Suddenly, Troy, Gia, Noah, and Emma were looking at the Troy, Gia, Noah, and Emma that came from another dimension.
-What is this? -asked Noah from another dimension.
-Let's make this quick. -said Gia, taking a step forward-. We come from another dimension where we are Power Rangers because we accepted the power Jake and Gosei gave us. We thought Jake would be better without us after he risked his life for us countless times but is clear that is not the case.
-Woah wait, Power Rangers? -asked Troy from another dimension.
-Yes. We are the Power Rangers Megaforce and Super Megaforce. -said Troy, showing his morpher-. You should be Red too but from what I heard, you turned Jake down.
-We are not fighters…-said Emma from another dimension.
-No, you are cowards. We were scared too but Jake trusted us with these powers, powers that his family had before him and before us… powers they used to defend this planet until their last breath. -said, Emma.
-Their last breath… are they…? -asked Gia from another dimension.
-All of them and Jake will be the next if you don't do something to stop it. -said Gia, walking to her other shelf-. If you are like me, we both know we can't let it happen.
The Gia from another dimension looked at the screen, when she saw the Black Megaforce Ranger, his helmet broken on the ground, his forehead bleeding but he still was fighting, alone. She closed her eyes, unable to keep watching, and looked at the other Gia and the morpher she was holding.
-Don't lose him, please. You will regret it. -said, Gia.
The Gia from another dimension looked at Gia and after a few seconds of thinking, she grabbed the morpher. The others did the same, all of them except Noah from another dimension that still seemed to doubt until Noah punch him in the chest.
-Wake up, Noah. Your best friend is there dying for you and you just going to watch? -asked Noah.
-I… I can't… I don't know how to fight and what to do and after what I told him… I don't deserve…-said Noah from another dimension.
-You can apologize to him but it will be worse if he dies there and you stay here wondering if you could have done something to stop it. -said Noah, putting a hand on the other Noah's shoulder-… Noah, please, Jake needs you now more than ever, stop being scared and fight for him.
-Don't regret it later. -said Emma, looking at the other Emma-. He is a good guy. He loves Gia and he is a good friend.
Emma showed the other Emma the flower Jake hide for her and that Ernie gave her when they thought they lost Jake and the Emma from another dimension looked at it for a few minutes then, she looked at Emma and they both nodded.
-He teach me how to be a better leader and better person. He trains with us and makes sure of reminding us to wear this color proudly… his father's color. -said, Troy.
Troy from another dimension looked at the morpher and the card and saw he was the Red Ranger, surprised, he looked at Troy but Troy only nodded, showing him his morpher. Jake believe in them, that was the message.
-Ok…-said Troy from another dimension-. We can do this… right?
-Yes, we can. -said Emma from another dimension.
-We have to. Jake needs us. -said Noah from another dimension.
-We won't hide anymore… we will fix this…-said Gia from another dimension.
Troy stood in front of them and raised his morpher, grabbing their cards before all of them called for their Megaforce morph. Once morphed, they looked at their suit, amazed when they felt the power, and then they looked at the images, seeing Jake falling to the ground. The Rangers from another dimension nodded to themselves and ran towards the battlefield, ready to save their friend no matter what.
At the shelter, the Rangers smiled and felt their job was done when they saw the other Megaforce Rangers arrive and assist Jake, at first, he was confused until he saw his old friends standing in front of him, ready to fight.
This Jake will never be alone.
-Rangers?
The Rangers turned around to see Tenshou with RoboKnight. The small robot move towards them and looked at the images, even RoboKnight seemed happier now the Megaforce Rangers were a full team and were defeating the monsters, together.
-Thank you, Rangers… you gave him hope and us a chance to save Earth. -said RoboKnight.
-We should be the ones saying thank you, RoboKnight. -said, Gia-. Your dimension teach us a valuable lesson today.
The Rangers nodded and RoboKnight say goodbye to the Rangers while they put their hand on Tenshou's shoulder and pressed the traveler to send them back home. As they disappeared, RoboKnight waved them goodbye before turning towards the shelter, to help the civilians.
Command Center
By the time the Rangers came back, only Jen was waiting for them the others were with Jake but the Time Force Pink Ranger wanted to be here in case they had a question. As soon as they saw her, Gia run to her, giving her a big hug.
-I assume you saw everything you needed to see? -asked Jen.
-Yes, I was an idiot for thinking Jake would be better off without you. -said, Gia.
-We all were… we don't know what will happen here but we know that Jake needs us as much as we need him. -said, Noah.
-Exactly. The future can be changed, Rangers. Wes and I changed ours and several Rangers changed them over the years -explained Jen.
The Rangers nodded, looking at their morphers, happy that Jake and Gosei gave them this power and they were able to meet all the Rangers before them. A family with a bond that will never break.
-You should go see Jake. He has been missing you all like crazy. -said Jen, looking at Gia-… especially you.
-You are right. -said Gia-… but before that… do you know what happened to the Rangers on that dimension we went visit?
Jen looked down. She did know and that was the reason why she was here in case they had a question about what happened.
-They defeated the Armada but… -said Jen-… the years of spirits abusing his energy finally got a hold on Jake and he died five years later, a year after he married Gia and with a little boy that now holds his father's morpher proudly. The other Rangers continue the job and are rebuilding the city with RoboKnight's help.
The Rangers looked down, sad to know Jake passed away but with that knowledge, they were more determined than ever not to let this Jake fall. They will stand together and they will defeat the Armada then… then they will continue their lives, all of them.
-That won't happen here. -said Gia, looking at her morpher-. We won't let it happen.
-No, we won't. -promised Noah.
Emma hugged her friend and Troy put a hand on Noah's shoulder, sealing the promise while they looked at Jake's screen and Jen smiled. This team had a chance to change everything and even if now the future was unsure she was sure that whatever it is, they will be over to overcome the obstacles.
The Rangers looked at each other and then they and Jen left to find Jake and the others while Tenshou appeared beside Gosei, with his head low.
-Tenshou… what did you know? -asked Gosei.
-We are running out of time, Gosei.
And that's what worried them the most… time.
