THE WIZARD DEPARTS OZ UNEXPECTEDLY
As officially pronounced by Glinda the Good herself, our Wonderful Wizard has permanently left the land of Oz. "It seems the strains of Wizardship have been too much," Glinda says, "therefore, his Ozness has decided to take an indefinite leave of absence." (more on page 2.)
GLINDA THE GOOD: A BRIGHT FUTURE FOR OZ?
"Fellow Ozians," Glinda the Good called out to all the land, opening her first speech as the rightful ruler of Oz. "We have been through a frightening time, and there will be other times and other things that frighten us. But if you'll let me, I'd like to try to help. I'd like to try to be Glinda, the Good." (more on page 5.)
MORTIFYING MORRIBLE MEETS MORBID END
The land of Oz has recently been hit with a bizarre and unexpected twister of fate as the Wizard's Press Secretary, Madame Morrible, finally showed her true colors. A crime such as hers, a direct attempt at taking Glinda's life, could only have been committed by someone truly, thoroughly wicked. And now, luckily, we can say with authority: no one mourns the wicked. (more on page 9.)
RESISTANCE MEMBERS OFFICIALLY PARDONED
The rumors of a resistance force operating around Oz have finally proved to be somewhat true. Glinda the Good has informed the public of the incident from a few weeks ago, whereupon a group of about two dozen rebels has been captured and sentenced to prison. After her rise to power, Glinda reconsidered their case, and – seeing that their rebel activity solely involved Animal aid and protection and haven't, as far as we're aware, brought harm to the citizens of Oz – decided to deem their crimes fully pardonable. (more on page 11.)
IS THERE HOPE FOR OZ'S UNLIKELY HERO?
In her first days as our rightful ruler, Glinda has striven to ensure that all Oz knows the story of her best friend's braverism. "I wouldn't be standing here today if it wasn't for Elphaba Thropp's courage, selflessness and incredible powers used for good," she says. Sadly, Miss Elphaba has been reported to be in critical condition, suffering from an unusual magical injury. "As long as she's still fighting, we are not losing hope," says potions expert and Miss Elphaba's primary doctor, Shilah Pelakshai. "However, I cannot lie: the situation is very dire."
