"We checked out every room, every closet." Mya quietly said, the two standing up straight.
"I think," he said, quietly walking to the doorway and looking out into the main room. "I think we should try behind that bookcase."
"As in move it?" She asked, confused.
He nodded. "You can finesse your way and carefully walk to the kitchen back door better than me. Go get Bobby and Tara and they'll help us."
She nodded, then gently padded to the door, where Bobby and Tara were waiting. Silently waving them in, she quietly filled them in, then the three of them quietly walked to Jack, who was analyzing the bookcase, which was positioned in the corner of the main room, on the wall that the bedrooms were on.
"She explained it to you?" He quietly asked. When they nodded, he proceeded to show everyone where they would stand. "Let's see if we can lift it." He said when everyone was in position. "Ready, 1, 2, 3!"
Slowly and carefully, the 4 agents picked up the bookcase and moved it away from the wall, revealing a doorway.
Mya widely smiled as she peered around the bookcase. "You were right!"
Jack nodded as he took out his gun, something everyone copied. "Now let's see if we can find Mallory!
?-?
Sue worriedly stood at a distance with the dogs. She hasn't seen movement around the house since Jack and Mya went inside, and that was a while ago. Not sure if everything was alright, she decided to take a chance and walk closer. Slowly and surely, she walked towards the cabin, her confidence growing with each step. Soon, she was a yard away from the steps. Just then, Barky pulled on his leash, which caused Sue to look in the direction of his pull. She turned just in time to see a man running off back into the woods.
"FBI! Stop!" She yelled after him. Knowing she wouldn't be able to navigate the woods that fast to catch up with the perp, she quickly got the idea to unleash the antsy Barky to let him chase the perp. "Go catch the guy!" She yelled to him as she unhooked his leash, then watched the dog disappear into the woods, his unheard barks echoing through the woods.
"What's going on!" Bobby yelled as he came out of the front door to find Sue and Sunny standing right there with an empty leash next to her used one.
"A man started running, so I sent Barky to catch him." She briefly explained.
"You what?!" Jack exclaimed, popping his head out the door.
"The man was getting away! I needed to do something!" She exclaimed.
"Alright." He said, trying to stay calm. "You, Mya and Tara investigate the hidden basement and we'll go chase after the perp, But," he warned. "Stay behind them. I don't want you bolting out in front of their guns. We haven't cleared it. In fact, we only got 2 steps down before your tactic."
Sue smiled. "Don't worry about me. Now, go! Barky should be caught up with him! Go!"
The two friends looked at each other, then started off running in the direction Sue pointed.
Walking inside the cabin, Sue stared with wide eyes at the secret doorway that they had found behind the bookcase.
"READY?" Mya asked.
Sue nodded. "Let's do this!"
?-?
"My baby's never going to be found!" Moria wailed as she cried on her husband's shoulder.
"It's alright, honey, they're looking for her right now, at this very minute." Melvin comforted.
Sarah empathetically looked at the sight. Everyone was off doing something, but she was stuck at the Melton home, trying to hold down the fort, something she found was much harder than it seemed. "I know it doesn't seem like it," she started, stepping a step forward to the couple. "But we are doing anything and everything in our power to bring your daughter home safely."
"But he promised to give us our daughter back if we paid him! Why isn't she back?" Moria complained.
"Can you give us one half hour more? I sincerely think we will know much more then. My teammates are so close to cracking the case."
"We can do that, right, honey?" Melvin asked, worriedly looking into his wife's eyes.
She nodded. "Yeah, I suppose."
Sarah smiled. "Thanks. I promise you, we'll have something." With that, she turned to face away from the couple to send a quick prayer that her promise would be kept.
