"The Passing of the Gift"
Faramir sat in the garden to the house of healing. His gray blue eyes blurred with tears. The ground before him freshly disturbed forming a mound. Sniffing he ran the back of his hand across his nose. Reaching next to himself he picked up the small leather belt. The word Ladara embroider with gold thread shined through the gloomy day. Setting the makeshift collar atop the mound Faramir stifled a cry.
What are you doing? The voice of Boromir sounded behind him. Kneeling to his knees boromir looked at his brother. Faramir sat teary eyed unmoving. Boromir looked to the small grave before him and made note of the belt. He recognized it immediately. It was ladara's collar. Ladara was faramirs dog, a gift from there mother before she died he wandered if faramir was mourning for the loss of Landara or for the loss of his mother. He remembered the chocolate dog well, it was one of the few things faramir had that their father approved of. Placing a arm around faramirs shoulder's boramir himself mourned.
Standing together the two brothers walked soldomly back to the castle. That day they both lost a connection to their mother as well as a faithful friend. Something faramir felt he would have to get use to.
