Chapter Twelve

Washington: Part Five

Kensi and Deeks watched the gunmen nervously.

"Say your prayers, race traitors!" hissed one of the thugs as he cocked his gun.

The man suddenly grunted as a bullet struck him in the chest. Blood wept from a small wound as the man collapsed to the ground. Kensi and Deeks turned and stared in amazement.

Standing in front of them was Sam, Fatima, Roundtree, Pride, Sebastian, Gregorio and Carter. They were also accompanied by Jane Tennant, Kai Holman, Jesse Boone, Lucy Tara of the NCIS Hawaii team; Kate Whistler of the Hawaiian division of the FBI; Danny Williams, Lou Grover, Junior Reigns Tani Rey, Adam Noshimuri and Quinn Liu of the Five-O taskforce; Daniel 'Hondo' Harrelson, Christina 'Chris' Alonzo, Jim Street, Dominique Luca and David 'Deacon' Kay of LAPD S.W.A.T.; Angus 'Mac' MacGyver, Desiree 'Desi' Nguyen and Russell 'Russ' Taylor from the Phoenix Foundation; Gordon Katsumoto of the HPD and Edward Jones.

"Thanks for the help." said a surprised Kensi to Sam as she and Deeks walked over to the group, "I see you brought backup.

The rest of the group introduced themselves to Kensi and Deeks.

"Parker called and told us where the director and Commander Daly were being held." explained Sam.

"So of course we had to come and help you finish off a part of this organisation." growled Gregorio with determination.

"This group have started committing attacks in Hawaii; including our HQ; that makes it personal." stated Tennant firmly.

"Not to mention their bombing of LA." said Hondo.

"So, Sam called all of us and brought this group together." explained Pride.

"And I joined in to make up for my recent misdeeds." explained Edward.

"This is amazing, it's like Avengers but without the superpowers," remarked Deeks before turning to Quinn, "You know, you kinda remind me of Agent Knight, are you related?"

"No." replied a slightly baffled Quinn.

"Right, enough chit-chat, let's do it!" declared Russ.

The group charged towards the abandoned Navy base.

Over at the Dalys house, Emma was being pinned to the floor of the study by the two thugs.

"Quit struggling you little brat!" snapped the first thug as the blonde started fighting.

Without warning, Emma bit the first thug in the hand, making him howl in pain. This allowed Emma to spring to her feet and punch the thug in the face, knocking him out. The second thug charged at Emma, who quickly sidestepped, causing the man to trip. Emma raced over to a bookshelf, grabbed the largest book she could find and swung it at the second thug, who crumpled to the floor. Emma put the book down ran out of the room.

In Kevin and Audrey's bedroom, Audrey was still fighting against the thug, who was currently attempting to rip her clothes off. "Stop struggling, lady!" he barked, "You'll just make it worse.

"GET AWAY FROM ME!" shouted Audrey as she headbutted the man, sending him to the ground.

Audrey leapt off of the bed and ran for the door, just as the man sprang to his feet and launched himself at her. The man wrapped his arms around the brunette's chest and slowly dragged her back to the bed before throwing her back on to the bed. The man was about to crawl on to the bed when suddenly, Emma threw herself at the man and shoved him to the ground. "LEAVE - MY - MOTHER - ALONE - YOU - BASTARD!" she bellowed, punching the man's face with every word until he was out cold.

Audrey got off the bed and hugged her daughter.

"Are you alright, Emma?" asked Audrey in concern.

"Yeah, I'm fine." replied Emma shakily, "I managed to knock the other two thugs out; they didn't get the chance to do anything."

"I'm so proud of you, sweetheart," said Audrey, "Come on, let's go downstairs.

The two Daly women went downstairs before heading outside, where they found several of their neighbours standing around and looking terrified.

"Is everyone alright?" asked a concerned Audrey.

Most of the neighbours answered while sounding nervous.

"Where did those men go?" asked Mark, a tall, dark-skinned middle-aged man.

"They tried to assault me and Emma," explained Audrey, "but we dealt with them."

"Be careful, I think there might be more of those nutters on the way." said another neighbor.

"Then we need to try and fight," announced Audrey, much to everybody's surprise, "Look, this is our neighborhood, and these psychos are attacking the whole city because they hate diversity. We need to show this Freedom For All lot that we will not be silenced or beaten into submission, so who's with me."

The crowd cheered in support.

Over in the bullpen at NCIS HQ, Parker, Kasie and Jimmy had gathered every other agent in the building, which was just as well as the Freedom For All rioters had broken into the main lobby after killing the security guards.

"Alright, people, it's time to stand our ground," declared Parker firmly as he addressed the room at large, "If anybody wishes to back out now, you may do so."

Nobody moved a muscle.

"Okay," continued Parker, "There may not be many of these guys, but they are extremely dangerous and will not hesitate to hurt you … or do something much worse."

Parker's car smashed through the barrier that kept people out of the abandoned launch site. McGee, Knight and Torres leapt out of the car and pretty quickly ducked behind a few other cars as gunfire rang out. The three agents fired back while diving behind other cars and slowly getting closer to the launch area.

Over in their cell, Kevin and Vance listened to the sounds of muffled yelling and gunfire.

"What on earth is that?" asked Vance.

"It's a rescue mission!" cheered Kevin in triumph.

The door to the cell burst open and a burly guard stepped in. Kevin charged at the man and pinned to the wall before wrestling the gun from his hands and then knocking him to the ground after whacking the guard across the face. Not hesitating for even a second, Kevin and Vance raced out of the cell; Kevin holding the guard's gun.

Kensi and Deeks were leading their group through the base, gunning down any gunman they came across. The group stopped and listened to the rapidly approaching sound of running feet. Kevin and Vance then ran into the room.

"Director Vance, Commander Daly!" cried Deeks in relief, "Are you two alright?"

"I'll survive," remarked Kevin before seeing Quinn, "Hey, Jess, where's the rest of the team?"

"I'm not Jess, my name is Quinn Lie with the Five-O taskforce." replied a confused Quinn.

"Oh, it's just you look like somebody I know," remarked Kevin before looking at Edward, "Oh, wow, it's like looking into a mirror."

"Errrr, shouldn't we be getting out of here?" questioned Vance nervously.

"Yeah, you're right," said Kensi, "Let's go."

The group then ran out of the base.

Parker, Torres and Knight approached the launch pad, where they spotted Matt Campbell standing near a control console.

"Matt Campbell, NCIS!" barked Parker as he and the others raised their guns, "Surrender now, nobody needs to get hurt!"

"Shut up, pig!" snapped Matt as he whirled round to face the agents, "This is for the freedom of the true American race."

Campbell prepared to press the launch button, but Knight fired her gun, striking him in the arm. Matt shrieked in agony. "BITCH!" he snapped before charging at Knight, who fired off three rounds to his chest. Matt quickly crumpled to the ground, blood pooling around him.

"We did it!" cheered Torres, "YES!"

Parker pulled out his phone as it started ringing.

"Parker, you need to get back here right now, we're under attack!" cried McGee in alarm.

"Don't worry, McGee, we're on our way," assured Parker, "We've taken down Matt Campbell and stopped the launch of Project Firestorm."

"That's great news." replied a relieved McGee.

Parker ended the call and turned to the other two agents. "The Navy yard is under attack," he informed them, "Let's go help our friends."

The three agents raced away from the launch site.

The trio soon arrived at the Navy yard and found Kensi and Deeks's small army, whom they got acquainted with. Knight and Quinn looked at each other. "Nice haircut." they said in unison.

"Are you sure you're not identical twins?" asked Grover.

"Don't know what you mean." replied Knight before turning to Kensi and Deeks, "Are Director Vance and Commander Daly okay?"

"A bit shaken up, but I think they'll be okay." answered Kensi.

"Good to hear." said Knight.

"Right, let's do this." declared Parker.

"Not without me you're not." said a familiar voice.

The group turned to see Kayla standing behind them in full gear.

The large group charged across the Navy yard. A massive gunfight soon erupted. Both sides fired their weapons while ducking and dodging. Kensi and Deeks's group managed to take down quite a few rioters as they slowly made their way into the building.

On the upper floors, McGee led a small army of NCIS agents in a battle against the Freedom For All rioters; using both their guns and fists. Both agents and rioters fell to bullets or other weapons. Eventually, they were able to take down all the rioters on the upper floors. After entering the lobby, McGee spotted Parker and the others.

"McGee, thank God you're not hurt," remarked Parker as he walked over and patted McGee on the shoulder, "Did anybody get hurt?"

"Twenty five agents are dead and fifteen agents are wounded," informed McGee solemnly, "All the security guards are dead. So, how did it go with stopping Campbell?"

"Campbell is dead and Project Firestorm failed to launch," said Parker, which earned him a round of applause, "Kensi and Deeks, along with their friends have rescued Commander Daly and Director Vance; both are being treated at Washington General."

"That's great news." said McGee while crying tears of happiness.

Kensi pulled her phone out.

A few rioters had come down the street, but Audrey, Emma and their neighbors soon took care of them; all rioters were knocked out cold on the ground. Some of the neighbors had cuts and bruises. Audrey pulled her phone out and answered. "Agent Bly?" she said.

"Mrs Daly, we've rescued your husband." said a happy sounding Kensi.

"Oh thank God," cried Audrey in relief, "Is he alright?"

"He's battered and a bit battered and shaken, but he'll make a good recovery," said Kensi, "The main team also managed to stop doomsday."

"Thank you, Agent Bly." said the brunette before ending the call and racing towards Emma to give her the good news.

(AN) And there we go, the penultimate chapter of Project Firestorm, I hope you all enjoyed it.

Sorry for the lacklustre fight scenes, big army battles are not my strong suit.

I just couldn't resist the urge to have crossover cameos. For those unaware, Quinn from Hawaii Five-O is also played by Katrina Law.

I've went back and changed it so that McGee is the temporary director, he and Parker's roles have been mostly swapped.

The final chapter will show the aftermath and conclusion to this story.

Until then, this is TimeLordMaster108 signing out.
