Chapter 199 Palaver
The walk back to the car was uneventful but they walked very close to each other for support. Dean waved to the hunter in the car who waved back and pulled out his phone. He would report to Bobby so they didn't have to. They sat in the car for a few minutes each lost in thought.
"So what's next? Report back to Bobby?" Sam asked.
"Dinner. Sounds like the next couple of days are going to be full on. We need to eat and rest when we can."
"There is a steak restaurant up the block from the hall. We can park at the hall and walk down."
"Sold!" Dean started the car and pointed it in the right direction.
Very quickly they were at the steak restaurant where they were told they only had an hour until closing. It surprised them that it was so late. It didn't stop them ordering small burger sliders and main meals of steak. The table was small so they naturally leaned their legs together.
"Are we doing this? Are we going into purgatory to break this spell?"
Sam sighed. "Looks like it. Hopefully we can get help."
"Let's hope so, I mean I feel better but Purgatory? Im pretty sure Jane would have a fit."
"No kidding. We'll stay together. I'll carry you if I need to."
"You're okay that I just offered us up to be monster chow?"
"Michael wanted you there so he offered us up. You just agreed to help save the world which I would have done anyway. "
Dean dropped his head in thought which he did at times like this. There was still a lot to sort out and Sam could see Dean loading up his shoulders to take the full load..again.
"Okay, so what next?" Asked Sam over the last of his steak. Thinking they could break it into pieces and get help early.
"We need to talk to Egin. Get an idea if he has cooked anything up. He will need to know our plan if nothing else."
"When?" Sam was happy to take Deans led on this. He had been on the money all the way. Hunting was in their blood and Dean had some kind of connection happening.
"As soon as we can find a place."
"You don't want to do it at the hall?"
"Not with all those hunters with itchy trigger fingers. It needs to be out in the open. Anything close?"
Sam wiped his face after his last bite of steak and drew out his phone while Dean finished up. The waiter came to the table with a plate of complementary churros with chocolate sauce and cleared the table.
Sam chuffed a laugh. "Believe it or not there is a golf course in walking distance."
Dean laughed. "Walking distance for Bobby?"
"Should be, Time to fess up?"
"Yeah, all the hunters need to know."
"Which part."
"All of it unfortunately. We need to give them an option to bail out. Some of them flew here to help without knowing the full score."
Sam sighed and dipped a churro. "There's a fence around the outside of the course but we are on the clubhouse side and there's a gate on the left in the carpark. No cameras to speak of anywhere."
"So another golf course? It's becoming a habit."
"Better than a putrid, deserted, empty building." Sam laughed
"Much."
Fifteen minutes later found them walking to the course with the spell ingredients tucked under Bobby's arm. All Bobby knew was they needed to have a chat away from the hunters. The lock on the gate didn't need picking as the gate was wide open. It turned out what they had assumed was the first hole was actually a warm up area. It was downhill so the hunters sat on the slope. Bobby passed around his whiskey flask.
"So we found the gate. Then we found Michael." Dean started.
"Balls!"
Dean explained the chat they had with the angel.
"Tomorrow night? That's mighty soon." Bobby exclaimed.
"No kidding, but I get the point, and less waiting around."
"We need to call Egin." Sam stated.
"So why am I here?"
"We need to keep you updated. Do you think you could tell the hunters what's going on? They need to know before they commit." Dean asked.
"Is there anything you want left out?" Bobby asked.
"That's up to you. The way I see it you are our liaison with the hunters, Egin is with hell and Michael with heaven, and Cas as well." Dean was thinking out loud.
"Okay, no problems, happy to help. Sorry you guys are at it again."
"There was nothing you could have done. As usual this feels pre arranged. Thanks for looking after things so far."
"No problems,son."
Dean opened the spell bag. "Can you guys make the spell while I call Cas?"
"Sure."
Dean stood and left the hunters to it, going down the slope to the next rise.
"Okay, Cass, get your feathery ass down here."
"Hello Dean." Castiel appeared, without his standard jacket and coat with his sleeves rolled up.
"You look busy."
"I am torturing an angel for information on Michael."
"Well, I can help there. Michael is here, on earth. Well he was."
"You spoke with Michael?" Cas frowned. "He must be cloaked."
"Yep, he took Adam."
"I see, what is his plan?
"Well, it's our plan really."
Castiel sighed. "What have you come up with?"
Dean explained the cage and purgatory.
"Enocian. Lucifer is going all out. His must have been very sick."
"But well enough to cover his tracks."
"It seems so. What are you doing at a golf course?"
"Sam and Bobby and I are calling Egin. He's getting some demons together to help. He needs to know the plan."
"I will help."
They walked back up the slope where the hunters were waiting. Dean did his thing and Egin appeared looking exactly as they last saw him.
"Dean, Sam, Angel…and " Egin clicked his fingers ",Bobby right?"
"We meet again." Bobby intoned.
"Still surly I see."
"Only near demons."
"Are you sure about that?"
"Okay, guys, moving on." Said Dean. "Your turn to explain, Sammy."
Sam explained their visit to the cemetery a few hours before. When he finished Dean spoke up.
"So what do you have?"
"Knights and princes of hell." Egin said promptly. "Cain, Ramiel and Asmodeus. I am close with Dagon."
"That's very impressive." Said Cas knowing the demons were of major power.
"Can we trust them?" Sam asked.
"Yes. They know what will happen if we don't succeed. As for the cage I will get the cage builders to do what they can in the time permitted." Egin offered.
"Cage builders?" Dean asked.
"Yes, they are responsible for the cage. They will be eager to work on it again."
"Okay, tomorrow at midnight. Do you know where?" Sam said.
"I'll follow you or if Michael pops up earlier I'll keep an ear to the ground. It's a strange plan. I'm not sure it will succeed but we will help knowing what we do."
"Okay, and thanks."
Egin was gone in a flash.
