Chapter 35 : Party time
"Ok , it's supposed to be somewhere here"-Shinji sat as he left the main road with the mazda as he could already hear some music from outside of the car. Asuka who was sitting in the passenger seat also heard the music as she opened the window to take a listen
"Looks like the party is already at full swing , i don't want to bring some bad omen or something but there could be a chance that it will end in a drug filled orgy or a shootout"-Asuka said as both Rei and Shinji looked at her with the latter taking out both of his Berettas and reloaded them
"Kaneda said that all the weapons will be confiscated , except for the laser rifle , Kei's gun , and the guards weapons. So basically anyone that isn't associated in the tight circle"-Shinji said as he continued to drive
"I don't like this place"-Toji Suzuhara said as he held his sister Sakura's hand while little Aimi Hiei walked in front of them with Hikari and Kensuke following them
"Ah come on , it was a nice trip and we explored a few of the monument replicas. Also Aimi-chan seemed happy to see some places we visited"-Hikari said as they walked towards the stadium as Kensuke was looking at the footage he had on his camera
"Amazing ! I should really sell it to some documentary movie studios , and there is a chance i will be able to record some custom bikes"-Kensuke said as he took out the microcassette from the camera and put in a fresh one
"Anyways Asuka invited me here because she didn't want to be alone with the rival for her boyfriend's heart and-I SWEAR TO GOD HOW THE HELL MUSIC CAN BE SO GODDAMN LONG !"-Hikari screamed as they finally reached one of the entrances
"We reached the stadium , and now everything should be just-AHH !"-Aimi screamed as she jumped off to a side as beam of energy hit the ground
"They're shooting at us , get down !"-Aimi said as the quartet set a position on the ground before Aimi took out a slingshot from her hoodies pocket just as someone walked out from the corner , and that someone was Kaneda with his laser rifle
"Ok , now who's he-OW ! FUCK ! WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL !?"-Kaneda screamed as a tiny stone hit him on the head
"Wait , Kaneda Shotaro ?"-Aimi noticed him as Kaneda also noticed at who he was shooting at
"Kid ? Holy crap i'm sorry i just-"-Kaneda was cut off by a jump from Aimi
"KANEDA NIISAN ! I MISSED YOU !"-Aimi exclaimed out loud as Kaneda was surprised by her sudden reaction as much as the group she came
"Oh , hey kid . I also missed you , and oh boy you grew. No wonder Shin always talks how adult you are"-Kaneda said as he patted Aimi's head
"Wait, you know each other ? ALSO WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU FOR SHOOTING AT PEOPLE ?!"-Hikari screamed as Kaneda bent over to Aimi
"Eh ? Kid who are those Banana kids ? Also what's wrong with you taking kids to such a party where literall drugs are a normal thing ? Also you dont look like you're from here ?"-Kaneda asked as Aimi whispered something to his ear
"Oh , well ok then , but you and your friend over stay close to someone , anyway let's go"-Kaneda said as begun to walk towards the corridor of the stadium with the quartet following him
"Can I try the rifle ?"-Kensuke begged as ogled the stolen military tech , Kaneda's stolen military tech
"No , and that will be the answer every time when you will ask me that"-Kaneda said as they heard something in one of the other corridors. Kaneda reloaded the rifle as he walked towards the source of the sound as he tried to listen to the supposed introducers
"Did we really have to come here ? I mean i get that you are his friend but such a party could get us in some trouble with MP's"-A voice said as Kaneda tried to as silent as he could and switched his rifle to a mere stun mode
"Well she is right , also you were there since the beginning so it makes sense you should be here"-Another voice said as Kaneda barged in with the rifle
"NO INTRUDERS !"-Kaneda screamed as he fired a stun beam at the newly revealed Mana who was covered by Musashi before being zapped by Kaneda's rifle
"Mana ?! Why the hell do you sneak through the window ? You could've used the main entrance like everyone else"-Kaneda said as he switched off the rifle and the rest of the quartet runned up towards them
"We tried , but we couldn't get pass the gun control and orders said to keep weapons in tact"-Keita said as both he and Mana showed their holsters while they tried to get Musashi back on his feet
"MANA !"-Aimi screamed as she rushed to her to jump into another hug
"Hello Aimi-chan ! It's been so long !"-Mana said as she stroked her hair while the Tokyo 3 quartet looked pondered
"Looks like everyone knows each other"-Hikari said as Musashi got up from the flour
"YOU ! WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE !?"-Musashi screamed as took out his gun to witch Kaneda countered with his rifle
"We are the same age. Also you brought a tiny pistol to a laser rifle fight"-Kaneda said as he put his finger on the trigger just as Toji run in front of them
"Hey hey hey hey ! We're not here to turn each other into colanders ! Isn't this supposed to be a celebration ?"-Toji said as Kaneda looked at both him and Musashi though the rifle's scope and put it down
"You are right random stranger i knew for 10 minutes , and now you just reminded me about making sure everything is up tight and ready for a surprise"-Kaneda said as took out his phone and dialed Kei
"Yes Kaneda ?"-Kei asked as on the other side of the stadium she watched over several young punks finishing laying out the last wooden beams on the track
"Everything is going smoothly , Mari enjoys being the commander of stupid people. We should be ready in 10 minutes"-Kei said as she looked over the large velodrome
"And the bikes ?"-Kaneda asked as Kei looked at the five hyper modified motorized bicycles
"All up and running , but did you really had to steal them ?"-Kei asked as Kaneda frowned on the other side of the call
"Hey ! It was their fault for keeping the bikes on the balcony ! , not to mention all the crunch we had to put them to get them to do 150 km/h ! Over 50 people worked on them !"-Kaneda explained as everyone looked at him and Kei sighed on the other side
"Fine , i'll tweak the things to the end and will come to the main party balcony"-Kei said as Kaneda nodded
"Alrighty then , I'll be heading there in no time. Shinji will be so surprised"-Kaneda said as he closed call
"Wait , olympics stadium , motorized bicycles or motorcycles, track cycling is an olympics sport. Are you preparing a board track race ?"-Kensuke asked connecting the dots as Kaneda turned towards him
"Dingdingdingdingding correct another stranger i knew for 10 minutes ! And it's known Shin will be surprised ! And he would never turn down a race in any form. So let us commence forth !"-Kaneda said as he began to walk with the group of misfits following him. As they followed Kaneda the music and the flashing lights were getting stronger and more vibrant before they found a staircase they had to beat before founding themselves on the mock up DJ stage as Kaneda walked up to Tetsuo who was tasked with observing the situation from there
"Is everything going smoothly ?"-Kaneda asked as Tetsuo nodded
"Yessir , somehow we managed to keep all 600plus people happy with dubstep and other types of brainfucking music. Also my head is beginning to explode from it , i should probably call Kaori to prepare me some medicine when i come back"-Tetsuo said as he drank up a red bull can
"Besides, why didn't you bring Kaori here ? Put some dance moves and do a little bit of that couple stuff"-Kaneda asked as Tetsuo frowned
"She is too busy taking care of your kid because your baby mommy has some midnight school to attend"-Tetsuo said as Kaneda let go a silent growl
"Hey ! Aiko isn't just a baby mommy , acting like a douche is my responsibility"-Kaneda said as Tetsuo sighed
"Yeah sorry , I just can't get enough about how Kaori gets in such a crunch all the time without any support since Kirish-OH !"-Tetsuo cut himself off as he noticed Mana. And just as he wanted to walk towards her Kaneda stopped him in his tracks
"Not worth it , I know what you want to do. Props for trying to help Kaori but we have enough drama for tonight"-Kaneda said as Tetsuo looked at him first with anger and then with an understanding look
"Fine , but at least i can do this"-Tetsuo said as he took out his phone and dialed up Kaori before giving it to Kaneda
"I know what you have on mind , i'll do it"-Kaneda said as he took the phone from Tetsuo and walked up to Mana who was talking with Aimi and the Tokyo 3 quartet
"Phone for you Mana"-Kaneda said as Mana pondered a bit before she read the caller ID and had a shocked expression on her face. 'Shit ! I forgot to reach out to Kaori when I came back !'-Mana thought as she heard a voice on the other side of the phone.
"Hello Tetsuo ?"-Kaori asked as on the other side of the phone inside Aiko's dorm room she was feeding little Kio. Mana walked to the side and swallowed air
"Hey Kaori"-Mana said as on the other side of the phone Kaori almost let Kio go before sitting down on Aiko's bed
"M-M-Mana ? Is that you ?"-Kaori asked as Mana was lost in words what to say
"Yes its me , listen i know that you can be ang-"
"Angry ?! I missed you so much ! You disappeared without a trace and I was so depressed. You were and still are my best friend !"-Kaori said to her as Mana felt butterflies on her stomach that her friend didn't hate her
"Kaori , I'm so sorry that I didn't reach out towards you , you have been there for me ever since I came to that damned orphanage before Shinji kicked his way in. All because of stupid Infinity and Shinji's dumb talking i cut myself off from everyone"-Mana said as on the other side on the phone Kaori was pondering on what Mana said while little Kio was giggling
"I'm sure that Shinji didn't mean that , in fact after you left he was visibly emotionally punched , poor Shinji , first you , then Takuro and to top it off his uncle"-Kaori said as Mana thought about him as she was alongside other hundreds of people were waiting for Shinji to kick off the main show
"I've heard about it from Kaneda and others , that I abandoned him , broke his heart , yaddi yaddi yadda. While he was there to send me off on the train"-Mana said as she sighed
"But he seems happy now , I heard he got a girlfriend right ? A fellow pilot ?"-Kaori asked as Mana thought Shinji and Asuka and while she was happy for Shinji's happiness a tinge of jealousy was felt anytime she thought about it and her younger self would kick her across the entire globe
"Yep , the pilot of the red one. Angry , prideful and egotistical most of the time. To be completely honest i don't get what Shinji is seeing in her aside from looks , hell even i have bigger boobs than her. At least i think i do"-Mana said as she cautiously grabbed her breasts to check if she was right
"There has to be a reason why he cares about her so much , Shinji isn't the type who would put up with such behavior , especially considering how he treats gender equality. Or perhaps it's something that only he knows and your jealousy begins to show ?"-Kaori asked as Mana facepalmed on the other side of the phone
"Maybe , maybe not. I really don't know anymore , anyways how is Aiko doing ? And yes i know about Kaneda's hit and run"-Mana asked as little Kio was playing with a Unit 01 plushie
"Really well for a teen parent , she is doing good with her medical courses and is heading to medical school next year"-Kaori said as Mana was surprised
"Wow , i didn't thought how someone with those circumstances can achieve something like that"-Mana said as Kaori looked at the acceptance letters
"Well , technically it's thanks to Shinji who pulled his strings"-Kaori said as she was preparing Kio for bed
"Typical Shinji , typical epitome of "I know a guy""-Mana chuckled as Kaori covered Kio with bedsheets and played nursing rhymes
"He is the supposed "uncle" of his so it makes sense that he wanted to help his material situation"-Kaori said as she sat back on Aiko's bed waiting for her return
"Thanks for the talk Kaori , maybe we should grab a coffee , or a beer before i leave Tokyo 3 ?"-Mana asked
"Ok then , I won't pass up a chance for a coffee. Or a beer with my best friend"-Kaori said as Mana smirked on the side of the phone
"Well great , i'll call you tomorrow"-Mana said as she quickly took out her phone and
copied Kaori's number and added it to her list of contacts and closed the call
"You talked with her ?"-Kaneda asked as he walked towards Mana
"Yep , here is the phone. Anyways where is Shinji ?"-Mana asked as she gave back Tetsuo's phone to Kaneda
"I just got the call , he reached the stadium"
"The backseat of this car is really uncomfortable"-Rei said as Shinji was sinking in his bucket seat and looking at the added gauges that were added by his uncle years ago
"Yeah I know , uncle never explained why he butchered the rear section so much"-Shinji said as he found a parking spot between numerous Techno-Bosozoku bikes and some Mid night inspired cars. They got out of the car as Shinji walked up to the trunk to pick up his jacket as Shinji started with frown at the worn out Nitrous Oxide installation in the trunk
"I really need to switch this for a new one"-Shinji said as he put on his jacket and the girls closed the doors of the Mazda before they found the line of people waiting to go inside the stadium
"Oh look ! It's the subcommander !"-One of the security guards said as he was let through passing the line and walked inside the stadium and was navigated through the corridors as he , Asuka and Rei found themselves in the middle of the party as the dubstep was echoing through the entire complex. Shinji took out his phone and dialed up Kaneda
"Hey there , im here"-Shinji said as Kaneda grinned
"Ok , I'm coming to get you , make your way through the crowd and walk to the staircase next to the speakers"-Kaneda said as Shinji closed the call and grabbed the girls hands and made his way through the crowd and noticed Kaneda waving to him.
"You are finally here ! Anyways before we head towards the best part of the evening we have to make it clear that the star of the show has finally come"-Kaneda said as walked up the stairs with Shinji and the girls following him
"What do you think he has planned ?"-Asuka asked as she grabbed Shinji's hand
"You think I know ? Probably some event , so far no people dry humping , having a drug trip , or someone bleeding out from bullet holes or knife wounds. So so far so good and everything is going well and all's right with the world"-Shinji said as Asuka chuckled
"You used the slogan sentence of our hated organization ? Really ?"-Asuka asked as Shinji frowned
"And I won't be able to say it for the rest of our lives ?"-Shinji asked as he Asuka winked
"Only when everything will truly be right with with world you will be allowed to say that"-Asuka said as Shinji kissed her on the lips
"Let that be a seal of the deal"-Shinji said as they reached the top
"Welcome to the VIP zone"-Kaneda said as Shinji noticed all the people that were waiting for them
"Guys !"-Shinji said as he fistpumped Toji and Kensuke
"Hikari !"-Asuka exclaimed and lodged to hug Hikari
"SHINJI !"-Aimi screamed as she rushed to hug Shinji
"Ok ok ok ok we had the reunions now it's time for the announcement"-Kaneda said as he whispered something to the DJ and the music stopped
"Everyone has fun ? Good , because the man in whose honor this whole party was thrown"-Kaneda said as he pushed Shinji in front of the speakers
"Ehm , i kinda wasn't expecting so much people to come here , and i know only 1/5 of people here know me so have fun in my name , thank you"-Shinji said as he gave a message to the DJ and music begun to play again
"You really need to work on your speeches"-Asuka said as Shinji frowned at her
"Well then we can now get into the best event we worked on"-Kaneda said as he pointed at one of the corridors
"And what's the big surprise ?"-Shinji asked the group
"The bo-"-Kensuke was quickly cut off by Toji as continued to walk
"Trust me Shin, Kei and Mari worked hard commanding a bunch of brutes to get it ready"-Kaneda said as Shinji looked at the quartet from Tokyo3 and then Kaneda and thought about how he mentioned Mari
"Wait Mari is here ? Wasn't she supposed to be hidden from the other people ?"-Shinji asked Kaneda as he looked at the quartet and then at Shinji
"Holy shit"-Kaneda said as he grabbed the phone and dialed up Kei
"Yes ?"-Kei asked as Kaneda had sweat on his forehead
"Listen , we have a problem. Some not-in-the-circle people are coming , Mari has to hide"-Kaneda said as Kei looked like she wanted to rip Kaneda's head off
"WHAT THE HELL YOU IDIOT ?! WE TALKED ABOUT IT NUMEROUS TIMES !"-Kei screamed as even Shinji could hear it from the phone
"Yeah i know but i wasn't expecting that Shin's girlfriend would invite their banana friends"-Kaneda said as Kein frowned
"Well fine ,i'll come up with something"-Kei said as she closed the call
"What's going on ?"-Mari asked as she walked towards Kei
"You have to hide , Kaneda wasn't expecting some of Shinji and Asuka's friends to come here"-Kei said as Mari sighed
"I swear to god i really grow tired of hiding"-Mari said as she wiped his glasses and walked away to hide where the crowds would show up
"That has to be really depressing to hide all the time from people that aren't in a special circle"-Kei said as she lifted up her fingers and snapped them that was the agreement signal and numerous doors opened with people flooding the gates just as Shinji and the group walked inside
"Welcome to the capsules velodrome ! Also a new business venture to get money but that's only a test for today"-Kaneda said as Shinji looked at the mock-up board track bikes and grinned
"All right ! Give me a pair of goggles and gloves and I can ride !"-Shinji said as he walked up to one of the mockup bikes
"Well then , we can start. Open bets !"-Kaneda screamed as on top of the stands Tetsuo was counting money as fast as he could
"Good good , put all the money you want !"-Tetsuo said as he alongside Kaisuke were on the literal money train as they tried to count all the money put on different contestants. Another young teenager walked in wearing a black hoodie with streaks of silver hair coming out from it
"All right, on who will you put your money on ?"-Tetsuo asked as the boy reached out for two 10 000 yen bills from his pocket
"20 000 on Ikari kun"-The boy said as Tetsuo uncomfortably took the bills
"By surname uh ? Do you know each other or know him though someone else ?"-Tetsuo said as the boy walked away
"We could call it that"-The boy said as he walked to watch Shinji do a 50 lap race as the crowd was cheering for Shinji as he took off his hood to reveal a boy with pale skin and crimson eyes resembling late Takuro Hiei who watched four board trackers going around a track
"We meet again Ikari Shinji-kun"-Kaworu Nagisa said as he noticed that someone was trying to get on his phone
"Don't worry , everything is going fine and your scenario won't be affected"-Kaworu said as he closed the call. 'Looks like i could have a problem with Shinji-kun judging by how im modeled after a person close to him, it seems that i'll have to take action immediately'-Kaworu thought as he put on his hood and continued to watch the race while humming Ode to Joy
A/N : What ? Shorter chapter? Yes, because I want to post more frequently and judging how much school work is on my back right now, the 6000 word mark is harder to achieve , so I'll try the format of writing shorter chapters and post them at the end of the week or on Monday or Tuesday next. If that won't work I'll come back to the older format. Other changes include the cut-off of the next chapter segments in favor of something else but I'll think about it. Perhaps bring back epilogues ? In terms of the story Kaworu is finally introduced and the big reveal is finally here. Kaworu is a DNA clone of Takuro in the same manner as Rei is Yui's clone. I waited to show that for over a year as it was planned from the very beginning. Also I really want to use him because it's pretty obvious that he will die , but I will use him in other Eva-crossovers I'm thinking of writing (Especially with one certain anime with armored boys fighting gods). So Kaworu fans don't worry and multiverse fans be patient as i will explain everything
