Disclaimer: A very scary thought. But a useful one nonetheless.
Dedicated quite kindly to Phantom Aria, who I hope will not quit, and who I hope will grow less tired.
Not really anyone's point of view. Terribly morbid for absolutely no reason at all.
It begged to be written.
I don't usually write poems like this -- free-verse for the first stanza and decide to write the second stanza in a similar way. But it's fun.
"Your fall from grace"
by The Phantom Parisienne
Your fall from grace
Your wings being torn from your tormented soul that
Needed wings to shield the impurity
But they were ripped off
Doesn't it hurt?
To be exposed
For everyone to look upon you
As the monster you think you are?
Doesn't it hurt?
It's like having your arm removed, isn't it?
Just...gone
You've lost a part of you
Yet it's so graceful how you fall
Into the darkness
Where death awaits
Your pitiful moans
Your cries to be assisted in your hour of darkness and torment
Needing comfort and shelter from the pain
But they're silent -- no-one can hear you
Doesn't it hurt?
To be forgotten
For everyone to go about their lives
As if you don't even exist?
Doesn't it hurt?
It's like being suffocated in the night
Just...abandoned
You've lost your sense of self
Yet it's so beautiful to hear your voice
In the darkness where it originated
And where it now dies.
