AN: Hi, I'm sorry this chapter is a little short! The next chapters should be longer, i just found this chapter had to be short and sweet to allow for the story to progress more.

Carlisle POV

I watched as Noelle made her way down the footpath to her home, I couldn't help but think that her father was the reason for her black eye, the injury was not consistent with a fall but rather a punch. I sighed and drove off as she got into her home. There was something about this young girl that really tugged on my heartstrings, it's as though I feel drawn to her. As I made my way home my phone began to ring, I picked it up and smiled to see it was my darling wife. I answered the phone and placed it on speaker "Carlisle?" her voice came through the phone like bells "My darling Esme." I breathed, picturing her beauty in my mind "Are you alright, my love?" she asked, it was like she knew things were playing on my mind even though I was away from her "Yes Darling, I just have a few things on my mind. I'll be home soon." My tone was gentle, and I couldn't help but smile as Esme told me she couldn't wait. I ended the call and pressed on the gas as I turned down driveway of my home and I was there within thirty seconds. I hopped out of my car and within seconds was inside my house, the perks of vampirism, especially when it's raining. I walked upstairs and smiled as Esme was leaning against the living room doorframe, I pulled her into my embrace and kissed her gently "Hello my love." She smiled at my words "Hello Darling." She responded. We both walked into the living room, and I could see my daughter Alice waiting for us, she had an inquisitive look on her face "Alice, is everything alright?" I questioned and she looked at me "Carlisle, I had a vision. Of a girl, she's hurt. Badly hurt. He's going to end up killing her." She managed to get the words out, my brow furrowed "Noelle." Alice's face looked at me when I brought up at the name "Yes." I paced the floor "When?" I asked and she sighed "An hour."

We didn't have much time.

Noelle POV

I walked in the house and peeked my head round to the living room door to see that my father was asleep, thankfully. I creeped upstairs and jumped into a warm shower to stop myself from getting hypothermia and then dried off and got changed into a pair of gym pants and my green pullover. I quietly made my way downstairs to grab some food, the television in the living room was blaring loudly and my father was shouting obscenities at the screen which was nothing unusual. I opened the fridge door and grabbed myself some of the leftovers from last nights dinner, I popped it into the microwave and stood leaning against the kitchen counter whilst I waited for it to heat up. That's when I heard banging and crashing in the living room, all of a sudden, my father stumbled into the room, clearly highly intoxicated.
"You!" he bellowed at me, causing me to shrink into myself as I backed away, but he came up closer and pointed his finger in my face "You ungrateful child. You think you can walk around MY house and eat MY food and not even ask me if I wanted anything. You are a brat!" he shouted, his face inches from mine. I felt his hand collide with my face and I instantly brought my hand up to protect myself, but this made him even more angry "You think you can protect yourself from me?!" He laughed menacingly as he placed his hand against my throat and pushed me against the wall "P-Please!" I choked out "I hate you. You're the reason your mother is dead and I'm living this miserable life! I don't want you, nobody wants you!" he screamed and raised his fist, the hot tears were spilling down my face and I closed my eyes preparing myself for the pain I was about to feel but suddenly the door burst open. I opened my eyes and began to sob when I saw who it was.

Carlisle.
