In the end, they dance.  A striking chord that covers them all in a mist of foreboding.  It is the end; it is their last night.  It's a miserable tone made better because the cacophony is strange.  Hand in hand, hearts made one, people made two.  The splitting sound of birds humming an eerie song fills the air--

and in the end, they kiss.  Red wine on their lips.  Sugar cookies on their breath.  Love in the air.  A quick kiss as she tips back her head, his lips eagerly meet hers.  It is quick, perhaps too quick and the menacing music blares in their pale ears.

So in the end, the moon whispers to the sky.  'Come,' it says, 'come meet me halfway and we shalt not stray.'  The moon whispers a hidden whisper like one between friends--old friends.  The glittered sky adorned in ebony and silver whispers back: 'It tis no good if we shalt not stray.'  And the moon laughs, and uncanny merciless laugh.  They are tired.  It is time for the end.

But in the end, her pearl necklace falls to the ground and hits the dirty floor.  Dirtied with spilled wine, dust from shoes past their prime, and candy wrappers.  The necklace falls into the heap.  It symbolizes, like most things, the decay of goodness and purity.

Because it's the end, they usually see it coming on. Attack.  Voldemort.  There.  Now.  Don't even try running away. You're you and he is him and that's the way it goes.  The way it goes.  Life is going in the order of expected.

And it's the end.

Boom. Bang. Clang.  Drop dead.  Death is calling, don't you feel the sky?  It's talking...'Come with me and you'll never have to worry about living again.'  Living.  Like it's some foreign concept. The two hapless children--well, perhaps they are not children but deadly close to this—are alone, the sky smothers them.

In the end, a mass of turquoise robes hidden in the darkness, black velvet robes blend in with the sky.  Wands on the ground.  Feet together.  'Hold on...' one whispers and shakes his red mane.  'I can't hold on anymore...I can't do it.'  And the sky--speaks lightly and coolly--effortlessly.  'Surrender.'

'Never.'

In the end, they are left alone.

It's the end; did you expect them to get out of it alive?

And then, and then there is quiet.
