Slowly leaning back resting against the wall Ryoko bent her knees cupping her hands over her face. The bathroom floor felt cold as she shivered lowering her hands taking a deep breath. The nausea seemed worse this morning than it had been, maybe it was the food last night? Not being able to sleep hardly at all since Washu woke her up first of all, then with the constant throwing up she felt exhausted. Waiting to hear back from Washu for some nausea medicine Ryoko slowly stood up off the floor teleporting to her bedroom leaning back on her bed. Taking a deep breath, even teleporting seemed to add to the nausea. Rubbing her face Ryoko glanced to the time, it was just 6:09 a.m. Slowly leaning back laying in bed cuddling against the sheets wrapping her arms tight around herself hoping to get some sleep.
Teleporting into the living room Washu looked around. The house was darkened by the lack of light and was quiet. Wondering if Ryoko was still awake Washu made her way to the bedroom cracking the door slowly. She could make out Ryoko on the bed asleep as she leaned back closing the door softly making her way to the coffee table as she snapped her fingers. A black void roughly about the size a football appeared as she held her hand out. A small white bag floated out of the void as she grabbed it setting it down on the coffee table glancing to the bedroom door once more suddenly both her and the black void disappeared.
Taking a long sip Ryoko swallowed a couple of the nausea pills setting her orange juice down on the counter sighing deeply glancing to the time. Just about on the verge of sleep Washu texted her letting her know she had brought some medicine over. Deciding the hell with it Ryoko crawled out of bed deciding to take a couple reaching for her glass. Thanks Washu Ryoko spoke teleporting back into her bedroom satiating herself on her bed reaching for her remote setting her glass down on the nightstand. Those should help, that bad huh.Washu asked. Yea… I think the pasta didn't sit well…I've literally been up all night Ryoko replied leaning back a little bending her knees resting them against her chest. You should've let me know sooner… you alright?Yea… I'll manage, I'm gonna lay back down Ryoko replied leaning back a little further wrapping her arms around her stomach. Alright Washu replied.
Flicking through the channels on the TV Ryoko paused for a moment to the commercial. It was some advertisement for a new baby formula. Growling beneath her breath Ryoko changed to the channel setting the remote down teleporting into the kitchen. Making her way to the island counter sitting looking to her phone for a moment it was just 7:12, then hitting the dial button hitting the speaker button listening as the phone rang.
"Ello?" Hige spoke.
"Hey… "
"Ryoko… I'm surprised your up this early…everything ok?" Hige asked coming to a stop in the living room looking to the TV for a moment.
"I've been up… I didn't wake you, did I?" she asked looking to the countertop for a moment.
"No, I literally just got up about 5 minutes ago."
"Yea."
"What's wrong…" he asked turning he came up to the couch sitting.
"Did you wanna meet for breakfast…"
"Omm sure… give me about half an hour to take a shower and changed real fast… I can meet you or pick you up, or you can come here which ever you prefer" he spoke leaning forwards leaning his elbows rest on his knees.
"I can meet you there I guess…" Ryoko spoke rubbing her forehead.
"You alright…"
"Yea just…I don't know… tired of sitting here by myself" Ryoko spoke. Snickering Hige leaned back standing up making his way into the kitchen.
"I know that feeling all to well. I got plenty of stuff to make for breakfast if you'd like" he spoke coming up to the counter turning the coffee pot on.
"That's fine" she spoke teleporting to her bedroom looking for her keys.
"Alright, well I'll text you my address" he spoke turning around leaning against the counter.
"Ok" Ryoko spoke teleporting to the living room walking up to the door grabbing her keys off the hook hanging off the wall hanging the phone up.
Leaning back into the seat Ryoko leaning her arm on the arm rest glancing to her phone than in front of her making a right-hand turn coming onto a two-lane road. Driving a couple miles glancing to the houses that started thinning out through out the neighborhood leaning forwards glancing around. Letting her eyes look to the last house on the right, on either side of the street coming to a slow stop in the car she recognized Higes car in the drive way. Slowly pulling her car into the driveway leaning forwards looking to the 2-story house that laid in front of her. The house was a beautiful house, consisting of dark browns with an even deeper brown shutters. The deck laid about the whole length of the front side of the house. Arching an eyebrow turning her car off glancing to the shrubs and flowers that laid against the deck. Grabbing her phone and keys opening the door crawling out closing the door with her foot making her way to the steps. The air was little cooler as dark rain clouds laid throughout the sky threatening rain. Coming to a stop at the door pressing the door bell struggling hold two large cappuccinos in her hands. Setting her phone in her pocket along with her keys latching them on her belt loop to her black jeans glancing around her for a moment the door opened she looked to Hige with a smile on his face.
"Hey sweetie" he spoke as Ryoko held out one of the coffees looking him over for a moment. Wearing a pair of black shorts, bare foot, and a dark gray sleeveless shirt showing off his arms. His dark green hair laid damp from taking a shower.
"Thank you… come on in… you alright?" he asked taking a step back. Nodding her head Ryoko took a couple steps in wrapping her free hand around her stomach looking around the living room as he closed the door. The living room was just as beautiful as the outside. Two leather couches with one matching love seat, and a recliner sat around a flat screen TV much bigger than hers at home with an oak coffee table beneath with two doors closed. A couple plants laid around leading to an opening that lead to the kitchen. The floor was from the hallway to the kitchen was dark wood. Coming to a stop in the living room dark beige carpet laid through the living room up the stairs. A computer desk with a laptop and a couple books shelves laid off to the side of the room with a cushioned wooden chair. A huge fireplace laid to the opposite of the room. Glancing to the couple of doors, then back to Hige.
"Thanks for the coffee… let me show you around some" he spoke coming up to the side of her pausing for a moment looking to her closely.
"What's wrong…" he trailed off coming up close to her lifting a hand gently brushing the couple strands away from her eyes.
"I just… didn't get hardly any sleep last night… I think that pasta didn't sit well…." she spoke. Gently kissing her forehead for a moment Hige leaned back looking to her.
"I'm sorry sweetie… you feeling any better?" Nodding her head.
"Well… truthfully it wasn't all too good in my opinion so, we won't be going back there. If you need to lay down for a while, I don't mind I got plenty of room" he spoke. Shaking her head Ryoko sipping her coffee.
"I'm fine…. Show me around some… I didn't think you had such a huge house."
"Alright… well it just looks big… I'd personally go smaller but as much as my nieces and nephew spend the night there's plenty of room, even for my sister" he spoke glancing around for a moment sipping his coffee.
"We'll start upstairs, welcome to my humble… abode" he spoke reaching her for arm as Ryoko slipped her flip flops off as the two of them made their way upstairs.
"Those are two of the guest rooms, their 4 bedrooms total, three upstairs and 1 downstairs and a study room" he spoke pointing to one of the rooms opening the door.
"My nieces stay in here most of the time when they don't crash on the couch, their 8 Lainey and Rain" he spoke as Ryoko looked into the kid's room filled with toys, a tv, two beds. Looked like a kid's room with all the Barbies on the floor.
"Twins?" Ryoko asked. Nodding his head looking to her winking.
"This door is my nephew's room" he spoke taking a couple steps back opening the door behind him.
"Quint, he's 11" Hige spoke looking to Ryoko as she turned. A bed laid off to the side of the room with a TV opposite of the bed with a couple game consoles attached to the flat screen TV with a few toys on the floor.
"Hadn't had a chance to pick up yet after them as you can tell" Hige spoke looking to her snickering as he closed the door making his way down the hallway. Halfway down a bay window laid with a cushioned ledge looking out to the view off to the side of the house.
"Bathroom the kids uses their" he pointed to the door to the right.
"And my room up here…if the kids aren't in their room or downstairs I'll wake up and they've done hogged up my entire bed" he spoke coming to a slow stop glancing to Ryoko as she paused beside him. The room was huge with a king-sized bed to the middle of the room against the wall, the sheets all tussled up still. A trunk laid to the end of the bed with a blanket over it, a flat screen TV laid against the opposite wall. A couple doors laid to the sides, with a fireplace laying off to the edge of the room with a love seat seated around it.
"Bathrooms there, and my closet" Hige spoke pointing than turning looked to her.
"Beautiful house…. "Ryoko spoke looking to him sipping her coffee. Smiling Hige turned touching her arm as they made their way back downstairs.
"Yea… I tend to like it…" he snickered coming off the last step looking to her.
"The kids use the computer their a lot… the other bedroom is on the right. My sister, Nicolia stays their whenever she stays, we're twins" he spoke looking to her. Arching an eyebrow as he opened the bedroom door. A king-sized bed laid to the wall across the room, a love seat sitting around the flat screen on the wall. Another beautiful fireplace laid to the opposite of the room with a couple bookcases along the wall.
"Twins seems to run in the family huh" Ryoko spoke looking to him as he closed the door.
"Yea.. On my mom's side…"
"If you don't mind me asking….is Nicolia married…" Ryoko asked following Hige to the other door across the hallway a little ways.
"No…Quint's dad… long story short… ran off with another girl when he was 3.…and the girls Lainey and Rain… he died two yrs. ago from a car accident… Nicolia and Yuri were married" he spoke coming to a slow stop at the door.
"I'm sorry… I hope I wasn't being…" she trailed off.
"No, you're fine. This is my study room…" he spoke opening the door.
"I do a lot of side work in here…" he spoke sipping his coffee. A nice sized wooden desk laid at the one side of the room holding a computer with a few books off to the side with a leather chair pushed in. A leather love seat sat at the other end of the room surrounding a flat screen TV furnished with a lot of the bookshelves filled with books.
"Your house puts mine to shame…" Ryoko spoke sipping her drink. Snickering Hige took a step back making his way into the kitchen.
"Nah… granite I like my house, but it was spur of the moment. If it weren't for the kids and my sister, I'd have a lot smaller house. My sister, when Quint was 3, after that guy left her she stayed with me for a few years until she met Yuri. She kept the house he had so, she's content" he spoke coming up to the island counter coming sitting on one of the bar stools as Ryoko sat beside him glancing around the room. Leaning back a little sipping her drink glancing to Hige for a moment as he turned looking to her.
"So, as for breakfast… If we stay here, I can make, pancakes, waffles, sausage and bacon, eggs…." he spoke as he stood making his way to the stainless-steel fridge with two doors, and a bottom freezer. Looking into both doors than to the freezer.
"I don't care either way" Ryoko spoke turning her head watching him.
"Well, what's your favorite" he spoke turning his head looking to her. Ryoko shrugged sipping her drink for a moment.
"I can make… fried eggs, omelets or we can go out."
"Surprise me" Ryoko spoke. Snickering Hige nodded his head.
Resituating her dark gray V-neck t-shirt about her waist setting her plate in the sink glancing back to Hige. Rubbing the back of his neck holding his cell phone listening to his mother talk as he shook his head. Snickering Ryoko grabbed the butter along with the syrup making her way to the fridge.
"Alright mom, let me go now ok. I'll stop by tomorrow before I go into work" he spoke standing up stretching.
"Alright… love ya, later" he spoke bringing his cell phone sighing softly.
"Ugh, I swear sometimes she's more of a pain than anything" he spoke reaching for the left-over bacon and pancakes.
"Hmm.. Seems like we have that in common."
"You shouldn't be doing this, you're my guest… "he spoke coming up to the side of her setting the plates down. Shrugging Ryoko reached for her coffee cup taking a sip as Hige turned making his way around her to the sink turning the hot water on.
"So what you got planned for today?" Hige asked glancing behind him to Ryoko as she made her way to the island counter sitting cupping her coffee cup.
"A whole lot of nothing… you?" she asked.
"Same… maybe groceries…" he spoke shrugging as he started running the hot water over the dishes. Watching him for a moment Ryoko paused. His dark grey sleeveless shirt fit him to the T, not realizing how muscular he really was letting her gaze look over his arms along to his shoulders. Blinking looking to her coffee cup taking a long sip. Thinking back to Tenchi for a moment, all those years… wasted. She could had moved on a long time ago, but she wound up chasing after nothing in the end. It felt like nothing mattered any more. Wondering what Higes real intentions, if any were with flirting with her at the supermarket over coffee. Her mind wondered if she could ever get close to someone ever again… She wanted to sometimes disappear. Realizing all of this had more of an effect on her than she thought. The really only thing keeping her from not just and leaving everything was the baby… Turning his head Hige paused looking to Ryoko. Arching an eyebrow, he turned the water off making his way to the island counter slowly.
"Hey…" he spoke coming up sitting across from Ryoko. Blinking a couple times Ryoko met Hige's gaze, his dark hazel eyes staring at her as if worried.
"You ok…" he asked reaching a handout gently letting his fingers rest against her arm.
"Yea… I just… don't know where this is going, and why… I don't…" she paused looking to her coffee.
"...Want to get involved… " Hige spoke up. Sighing softly Ryoko looked back up to Hige as his fingers grazed her arm up and down slowly.
"Trust me, I get it. I'm not trying to make anything out of this, it just… happened…If you leave and I don't hear from you again, I'll let you be." Starring at him as he spoke, she actually didn't want to leave.
"I don't want to leave… I've never had anyone treat me as well as you. I'm afraid of going any further for no reason in the end. I've wasted years over that man and had my heart shattered into thousands of pieces… "
"You can't let what the dumbass did to you stop you from new things… or even getting attached. I'm not saying we have to, or you do. But let me in a little… I'm not going to hurt you. You can trust me" he spoke. Taking a deep breath Ryoko sighed softly letting Hige bring his hand up gently resting against the side of her face. His fingers felt cold as they gently played against her cheek.
"You ok?" he asked. Nodding her head as Hige lowered his hand.
"Thank you…" she spoke grabbing her coffee cup.
"You don't have to thank me love."
Coming to a slow pause, clasping his hands together fidgeting he slowly made his way up the walkway coming to a stop at the front door. Lifting an arm pausing, then letting his knuckles knock on the door a couple times. Taking a step back listening turning his head looking around a little. Knocking once more taking a step back hearing nothing. Guessing she wasn't home… or just not answering the door… Tenchi turned making his way back to the cab car. Glancing back, hoping that the door would open, but nothing as he turned making his way into the back seat of the cab.
Sasami ran to the fridge grabbing the butter turning as she started humming making her way to back the stove.
"Meow…" Ryo-ohki spoke from behind her sitting untop of the island counter.
"No Ryo-ohki… it'll be done soon" Sasami spoke turning her head meeting her gaze.
"Meow…meow" Ryo-ohki spoke back. Sasami smiled shaking her head turning back to the stove stirring the soup.
"Smells great Sasami:" Kiyone spoke walking in.
"Hi Kiyone, thank you" Sasami replied.
"Well, I was able to ask off for the whole weekend" Kiyone spoke coming up to the fridge looking inside for a moment.
"Uh… oh for the wedding. I'm getting so excited it's less than a month away!"
"Me too, Ayeka's done really well with everything. "
"Yea she has. I love the whole theme idea to it. I still hope Ryoko comes" Sasami spoke glancing back to Kiyone.
"Me too."
"I really want to do a baby shower for her."
"You know she doesn't want one…" Kiyone spoke making her way to the coffee pot grabbing cup.
"I know, but maybe Washu can figure something out" Sasami spoke looking to the pot into the stove.
Holding her cup in both hands leaning against the couch sitting Indian style glancing to the kitchen as Hige talked on the phone with his work. Looking to her cup again, taking a long sip sighing deeply glancing to the time across the way to the clock on top of the TV. It was already 10:18 Leaning up slowly letting her legs rest over the couch finishing her coffee.
"Sorry about that… boss called not even knowing about some of the protocol for the machines…" Hige spoke coming up through the room. Looking to him as he came up sitting beside her.
"Your good… I was about to head home anyways" Ryoko spoke glancing to her cup for a moment.
"I'm sorry love… bet your bored and will never come back here huh?" he asked leaning back again the couch a little more.
"No, I didn't say that. Just figured I'd let you get to enjoy your day off not worrying about me, I got some things to do anyways…" Ryoko spoke standing up finishing off her drink.
"Alright, well… will I see you later?" he asked standing up beside her reaching for her cup. Wrapping her arms around herself shrugging.
"If you'd really like too" she spoke. Hige grinned lifting a hand gently brushing a couple strands of her hair away from her eyes.
"Thanks for everything… " Ryoko spoke.
"You don't have to thank me" Hige spoke kissing her forehead gently. Smiling softly Ryoko turned making her way to the front door.
Leaning her elbows on the counter holding her spoon in one hand looking to the laptop in front of her scrolling down reading through the data that filled the screen. Taking a bit of her mac and cheese Ryoko arched an eyebrow pausing for a moment scrolling up a little. Grabbing another spoon full of mac and cheese Ryoko leaned forwards a little biting her bottom lip taking one more bite of her food than leaning back grabbing the laptop standing up disappearing.
"Hey… you got something wrong here" Ryoko spoke appearing in Washus lab coming up behind her as she turned her head.
"What… me?" she asked arching an eyebrow as she flicked her fingers letting a pillow cushion chair appear as Ryoko say down. Scooting up a little Ryoko handed Washu the laptop pointing to the data on the screen. Washu crossed her arms across her chest shrugging.
"Yea, you're right." Suddenly typing what seemed like a thousand words per minute Washu had fixed the issue.
"There… very good young grasshopper. Actually, did that on purpose to see if you were paying attention "Washu spoke winking to her. Ryoko shook her head reaching for the laptop closing it leaning back a little.
"Ayeka picked a date for the wedding, almost three weeks the 27th." Ryoko nodded her head.
"I'll make sure I write it on my calendar."
"You still won't be in her wedding?" Washu asked turning facing Ryoko a little more.
"Nope."
"Why not…"
"Why is this such a big deal to everyone?" Washu shrugged glancing to the screen for a moment.
"I'll come but I'm not being in the wedding" Ryoko spoke holding her laptop in her lap.
"I'm sure you can bring Hige" Washu spoke. Eyeing her for a moment Ryoko starred at her.
"Sure…" Ryoko spoke as Washu snickered.
"Ayeka won't care I'm sure" she spoke.
"Yea… I think not. It'll be awkward enough as it is" Ryoko spoke standing. Watching her for a moment Washu glanced to her computer screen. Disappearing Washu yawned stretching her arms above her head glancing to the time for second.
Sitting cross legged on the couch starring at the TV holding her cup of tea in her hands. Not realizing this movie would be as good as she thought it was going to be she became engrossed with it. Lifting her hand to the side of her as she heard her phone ring looking to her phone for a moment seeing it was Hige calling. Leaning up to the coffee table reaching for the TV remote hitting pause answering her phone.
"Ello?" she asked pressing the speaker button leaning her arms in her lap.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Hige asked on the other end leaning back against his chair in his mid-sized office at this wooden desk.
"Nothing really… how's work?" she asked reaching for her tea.
"Long…. You doing alright?" he asked.
"Yea, for the most part."
"Good, well I wanted to ask. I'm having my sister and kids over for dinner Friday night, you want to come?" he asked glancing to the door for a moment. Arching an eyebrow Ryoko leaned back a little holding her phone.
"Kinda soon ain't it, gonna meet the whole family now huh?" Ryoko asked. Snickering Hige smiled.
"Sure, my mom and all our aunts and uncles will be there too, you'd love it" he spoke.
"Hmm… I don't know… can I think about it?" she asked.
"You don't have to ask to think about it… she's dropping the kids off for the weekend and we're getting pizza, so I'd figure if you like to come over, the offers there. I'm sure the kids would love to meet you" he spoke.
"You talk as if you have split custody of the kids?" Ryoko spoke glancing to the TV for a moment.
"No, it's not like that."
"I know I was just teasing, I'll let you know" she spoke reaching for her tea.
"Alright hun, and don't come just because I asked you ok...I don't want you to feel uncomfortable" Hige spoke.
"I know…" Ryoko spoke.
"Well let me go than, workflow" he spoke.
"Alright… bye" Ryoko spoke sipping her tea. Bringing the phone down hanging up thinking for a moment wondering if going their Friday night was the right thing to do. Meeting the kids… his sister? Knowing she wasn't good with kids really in general, even though she has on the way with one. Looking to her tea for a moment sighing softly leaning her arms on her lap.
Plopping down on her bed Ryoko glanced to the TV at some reality show that started, turning she grabbed the remote turning it off getting situated in bed. Pulling the sheet up around her reaching over she turned the light off cuddling in the pillows. Taking a deep breath, she tried to relax laying on her side closing her eyes. Her mind wondered how it would go tomorrow night meeting Hige's sister and her 3 kids. Not so much wondering about liking them, she wondered how they would treat her due to being pregnant by another man... maybe not going was a good idea, she still had time to change her mind. Cuddling a little more beneath the sheets sighing deeply soon falling asleep.
* Taking a step back her back coming up against the wall gulping. Lifting a cold hand his fingers grazed up and down her face as he came up close in front of her. Slowly his fingers came down to her chin, cupping the side of her face gently leaning her to kissing her forehead. Closing her eyes tight he leaned back a little straightening up lowering his hand.
"You'll always be my Ryoko…. Don't forget that…" he whispered as they looked to each other. His dark amber eyes peering over her thru his glasses. Gulping biting her bottom lip. She'd been thru this a couple times before, and she hated it. Taking a step back he held a handout looking to her. Looking to him for a moment, wrapping her arms around herself.
"Come" he spoke. She had no choice…. The 1st time he took control over her, and he did anything and everything to her. The 2nd time she fought back, and he wound up beating her pretty bad afterwards. Taking a deep breath, she just stared at him. Narrowing his eyes, he turned coming up to her close enough his chest came up to hers.
"You will come… You're mine Ryoko remember" he spoke deeply taking a step back reaching for her hand as the two of them teleported out of the room. Sitting her on his bed Kagato stood over her as she looked to him. Suddenly slapping her hard across her face, she winced turning her head.
"Defy me again my dear and I'll make it 10 times more miserable for you than before" he spoke taking a step back. Glancing to him for a moment, the side of her face stung. Coming up to her placing a hand along the side of her neck kissing her deeply holding her still she kissed back unwillingly.***
Sitting up quickly taking a deep breath Ryoko brought a hand up to her forehead pausing for a moment trying to catch her breath. "Shit…" she spoke glancing around the room, taking a deep breath. Not having a nightmare like that in months, made her think why now? The dream replayed in her head as she covered her face with her hands trying to calm down. Nausea began swirling around in her stomach as she gulped bringing her hands down. There for a while she had a nightmare every night, it kept her up so bad. Washu finally stepped in when she hadn't slept for 4 days afraid of what dreams may come. Figuring out a type of medication that took Washu a week to figure out the right one that kept them at bay. That had been over 7 months ago, and Ryoko was sure glad of it. Wrapping her arms around herself looking to her alarm clock it was a quarter after 5 in the morning. Quivering a sigh tightening her arms around herself she felt like she was going to throw up. Tiredness set in wondering if she was able to fall back asleep. Usually depending on how bad the dream was, it was always hard to clear her thoughts to be able to go back to sleep again. Leaning back a little pulling the sheets up around herself pausing she heard her phone beep. Reaching to it from the nightstand beside her seeing it was from Hige saying he missed her. Getting comfortable against the pillows leaning on her left side telling him she missed him as well. Setting her phone on the pillow beside her pulling the sheet up to her chest bending her knees slightly sighing deeply wishing the nausea would go away, her stomach was starting to hurt. Reaching for her phone as it started ringing, she answered it pressing the speaker button setting it down on her pillow.
"Hey…" she spoke.
"Hey hun, what are you doing up?" Hige asked on the other end. Sitting at his desk going through his paperwork he glanced at the time.
"I don't know… couldn't sleep" she spoke trying to gulp the nausea down.
"You ok… are you feeling sick?" he asked pausing as he held the phone leaning back in his chair.
"Yea a little…" she lied cuddling against the pillows once more trying to get comfortable.
"Sweetie what's wrong…." he asked.
"Had a pretty bad nightmare... It's hard to go back to sleep" she spoke gulping
"I'm on my way over… you going to be ok till I get there?" he asked.
"I'll be fine… really. You need to get some sleep" she spoke gulping sitting up slowly.
"Sweetie…" he started.
"I gotta go…" she interrupted suddenly teleporting to the bathroom getting sick. Sighing Hige brought the phone down as it hung up, knowing she wasn't ok and that was her getting sick to her stomach. Leaning back, he stood up straightening everything on his desk knowing what ever wasn't done he could do online at home and that he was done for the night. Flicking the lamp, he turned making his way through the room.
Parking his car in the driveway glancing to the time it was 5:51. Grabbing his keys teleporting into the house pausing for a moment seeing all the lights were still off. Making his way to Ryoko's bedroom cracking the door softly she laid asleep in bed cuddled beneath the blankets. Walking in closing the door behind him softly making his way to the side of the bed sitting softly resting a hand on Ryoko's shoulder. Flinching a little Ryoko opened her eyes slowly looking to Hige.
"Hey sweetie…" he spoke leaning closer to her a little bit letting his hand rub and down her arm.
"You didn't have to come over" she spoke leaning up a little on her elbow.
"I know I didn't, but I wanted too… you ok?" he asked looking her over for a moment. She looked exhausted. Nodding her head slightly taking a deep breath.
"Sweetie your shivering…. Was it that bad?" he asked. Looking to him nodding her head. Leaning back a little Hige turning crawling into bed with her slipping his shoes off as she cuddled up beside him laying her head on his shoulder as he wrapped his arms around her. Leaning his head against hers she laid an arm across his chest as he ran a hand up and down her arm. Shivering once more she cuddled against him as if the more, she leaned into him, it seemed to take the everything away.
"It's alright sweetie…." Hige spoke softly holding her tight against him.
"You want to talk about it?" he asked.
"No" Ryoko spoke up quickly. Leaning his head against hers, Ryoko sighed deeply trying to relax.
"Thank you…" she spoke softly.
"You don't have to thank me, I worry about you when I'm at work...I had a feeling something was wrong when I texted you, I could feel it" he spoke. Cuddling against him once more closing her eyes. Letting his fingers run up and down her arm slowly he could feel she was beginning to relax a little. Leaning back a little Ryoko sat up slowly.
"I gotta throw up..." she spoke suddenly teleporting to the bathroom. Arching an eyebrow Hige leaned up sighing softly making his way to the bathroom. Cracking the door, he could hear her getting sick. Leaning back against the wall Ryoko covered her face with her hands quivering a sigh trying to swallow the nausea in her stomach. Coming up to the side of her Hige leaned down looking to her.
"I hate being pregnant…" she spoke up lowering her hands. Snickering Hige sat close beside her looking to her for a moment.
"I couldn't tell ya how it feels… but like I said I saw my sister go thru it with the twins… its rough. She almost lost them when she was about 5 months due to throwing up so bad. She was put on bed rest, when she was pregnant with Quint, she actually thought she lost him from bad bleeding… I might not do much, but I wish there was more" Hige spoke. Glancing to him as he talked, Ryoko wrapped her arms around herself.
"You being here is helping more than you think…" Ryoko spoke looking to him. Leaning against her a little more Hige wrapped an arm around her.
"Can you stay…" she asked.
"Sweetie I'm not going anywhere" he spoke.
Sipping his coffee closing the fridge door looking to the stove for a moment as the eggs sizzled in the frying pan. Taking a long sip of his coffee once more setting his cup down stirring the eggs.
"So you must be Hige?" a voice spoke up. Flinching Hige turned around looking to Washu sitting at the island counter resting her chin in her hand starring at him. Arching an eyebrow starring back at her.
"And you are?" he asked.
"Washu, Ryoko's mother" she spoke smiling. Starring at her for another long moment arching an eyebrow.
"Are you sure… you look like your twelve" he spoke.
"I'm over 30,000 years old my dear, Ryoko's spoke a lot about you. What are you doing here anyways?" she asked lowering her arm.
"She had a bad nightmare and wasn't feeling good…. I had a feeling something was wrong and wound up calling her, so I came over here once I got off of work" he spoke reaching for his cup turning leaning his back against the counter looking to her as she starred at him.
"Impressive…. Didn't know you were here. I tried texting her but guess she's still asleep" Washu spoke leaning her chin off her hand folding her arms across each other on the island counter.
"Yea…" Hige spoke as the two of them looked to each other.
"Hmm...you know for someone she really just met; I think she really likes you. It says a lot for you to stick around while she's pregnant with another guy's kid" Washu spoke standing up making her way around the counter towards the coffee pot. Watching her, Hige sipped his coffee glancing to the eggs that were on warm.
"My father walked out on my sister and I when we were little… so I can relate... Regardless of what happened, pregnant or not it shouldn't make anyone feel any different of someone" he spoke. Washu glanced to him pouring herself a cup of coffee nodding her head.
"Well said. Just one thing, you hurt her, and not only will you have to deal with the wrath of her, but you also have me to worry about" she spoke sipping her full cup of coffee looking to him. Nodding his head saluting her as she made her way back to the island counter.
"Yes Ma'am." Snickering Washu sat on the bar stool.
"So, you live around here, what do you do for work?" she asked.
"I'm one of the night managers up at the manufacturing building in town, I live bout 15 minutes from here" he spoke turning as he removed the pan from the burner turning the stove top off. Washu watched him for a moment. His dark green hair seemed to match his hazel eyes and tanned his skin rather well. Turning he held his coffee cup coming up across from her sitting.
"Hmm… "she replied looking to her coffee taking a long sip.
"Breakfast is done if you wanted some." Hige spoke pointing behind him. Shaking her head Washu took another long sip of her coffee setting her cup down.
"Nah... Sasami is already making breakfast. You should come by sometime to meet everyone" she spoke.
"Yea… that'd be nice" he spoke.
"Tenchi and Ayeka are getting married in a couple weeks, I'm sure you can come" Washu spoke.
"Isn't that the guy who got her pregnant…" Hige asked. Nodding her head Washu grabbed her cup.
"I'd rather not…" he spoke looking to his cup. Snickering Washu finished off her coffee standing looking to him for a moment.
"You don't know how many times I've killed that man in my head for what he did… but it's not fair to Ayeka. Ryoko's better off here away from that idiot than having to see his ugly face every day" Washu spoke coming up to the sink rinsing her cup out. Turning his head Hige watched her.
"He doesn't care does he, about her being with his child?" Hige asked. Turning around Washu shook her head reaching for the hand towel beside her.
"No, of course not. He got what he wanted, granite I hate saying that. He took advantage of her when she was vulnerable because he hurt her, choosing Ayeka over her... when all she did was think the world of that boy. Ayeka and her fought so hard to get his attention for years...but he doesn't see anything wrong with what he did...Why Ayeka's still the hell with him I have no idea… love is blind I guess…" Washu spoke coming back around the island counter sitting. Sighing softly Hige looked to his coffee as Washu sat looking to him.
"But I give her credit, she's been thru a hell of a lot worse… she always picked herself back up regardless of any situation. Her moving out of the house was the best thing for her." Looking to her as she spoke Hige finished off the rest of his coffee.
"Hmm...well I better get going. Nice meeting you by the way, I'm sure I'll see you again" Washu spoke looking to him smiling softly.
"Likewise" Hige spoke.
"And by the way, thank you for being here for her…. She has a bad habit of hiding her feelings from people, especially me… she doesn't like the attention of being babied when she's sick or not feeling well" Washu spoke.
"I kinda already figured that out" Hige replied. Smiling Washu stood nodding her head.
"Than you'll fit right in if you can figure her out so soon." Snickering Hige shook his head as she disappeared. Looking to his cup sighing softly turning making himself another cup of coffee.
