In the afternoon Lori was driving Lincoln home in Rita's car that she had borrowed for them to visit Bobby and Ronnie Anne at their house with the two in question joining them. "Thanks for having us over; I had a great time Ronnie Anne... Been a while since we got to be over to play video games over and watch our lovebird siblings... Oh Boo-Boo Bear, it has been 2 whole minutes since we got to speak to eachother and it has been unbearable!" Lincoln said doing a mocking version of Lori's voice at the end and Ronnie Anne laughed as they had plenty of time to make fun of their siblings while they were over.
Bobby gave a giggle and Lori laughed; "I really missed this Bobby; us spending time together and watching our siblings be little scamps together." Lori told Bobby with a smile and Lincoln gave a smile as he saw his sister's look in the car window.
"I missed seeing you like this Lori; all chill and taking things in stride." Lincoln commented with Bobby's eyes widening.
"Now Lincoln; that doesn't sound very nice and I think it's an exaggeration" Bobby chided gently but Lori sighed and shook her head.
"No he's right Bobby; that house is sucking my soul and doing it's best to try my patience! In fact I will go as far as say this... That Take Your Children to Work Day that we went on when we last stayed at dad's was more bearable than the time that we have had so far in that house!" Lori retorted making everyone's eyes widen as they gasped.
Their father Larry Lyman had taken Lori and Lincoln to a case where he was prosecuting a man for tax evasion and it was the most boring time of their lives: they only lasted 20 minutes until Larry got his co-counsel to bring them out and look after them for the duration. Despite it being 20 minutes Lori would go on to rant for hours about what it felt like.
"Well Lori; I think we have experienced all that this new family and house can throw at us so we know what to expect... Plus we have dinner to look forward to." Lincoln told Lori and she guessed that he had a point; plus she couldn't deny how good a cook her new step-father was.
Lori and Bobby embraced when they got out of the car as Lincoln and Ronnie Anne made fake gag sounds; "So this is Bobby? Your boyfriend Lori?" shouted a voice and Lori sighed as they saw that Leni, Luna and Lynn Jr were at the front lawn. "Wish I could get to know you but dad wanted us to tell you that dinner is ready. Oh; who is this?" Leni asked spotting Ronnie Anne after Bobby waved to them with a smile
"Oh this is Ronnie Anne; one of my best friends and Bobby's sister." Lincoln explained as Ronnie Anne gave a short wave as the girls looked like they were about to squeal.
"So she's a friend whose a girl?" Luna asked excited as Lori then with a glare shoved them right inside.
"Yes she is and I know that look so allow me to end this before it has a chance to start: I don't even want to you even trying to set them up or try and act like they are dating! You mess with their friendship and I promise you that someone is getting turned into a human pretzel!" Lori warned and gave a thumbs up to Lincoln as he followed her. "You can count on your big sister to look out for you in this house Lincoln!" Lori told Lincoln as she went to face him and the girls didn't really like what she said.
They went to dinner table and smiled at the taco surprise that Lynn Sr had prepared for them; Lincoln ended up seeing that Lola wasn't there and asked "what about Lola?"
"Oh... Lola was playing makeover with Lana's animals and it led to an argument and it got so bad that we had to enact Sister Fight Protocol!" Luan explained as Lana humphed and Lincoln and Lori shared a look but shrugged thinking that it wasn't worth asking.
"Thanks... I am all full now..." Lincoln said as they were done with Lynn Sr collecting the empty plates and Lana left and looked away as she passed Lola who then took her seat. "Uh... Thanks but I don't think I can take a second helping..." Lincoln said as Lynn Sr then put down full plates in front of them.
"Sister Fight Protocol: whoever is fighting dines separately and we have dinner with both so that we don't choose sides." Luan explained as Lincoln and Lori both opened their eyes and Rita looked at Lynn Sr accusingly who smiled sheepishly.
Lori then glared as she stood up and then took Lincoln's hand; "oh no; you can forget about us playing along with this! The dinner was good but not enough for me to get sick by eating more when I am full! Come on Lincoln!" Lori said as they were protests from the panicked sisters as Lola glared at them.
"So are you picking Lana's side?" Lola demanded furiously but soon they left.
Later Lincoln was getting ready for bed when his door opened and in came Lana with her animal friends much to Lincoln's confusion; "Lola and I can't sleep together in a room thanks to our fight so I have to sleep somewhere else. Thanks for siding with me and I I can't wait to spend the night here!" Lana said excitedly and Lincoln saw all the animals crowding his already small room and the smell; he couldn't decide if the animals or Lana smelled worst.
He was already heading to the door to go see Lori before his brain caught up with the decision that his legs made.
"Look girls; if you can't work things out to the point where you can't stay in the same room then you will have to actually ask if you can spend the night in another room. Lincoln already has a small room himself. Plus I will be speaking with your father in the morning all about this Sister Fighter Protocol!" Rita sighed as Lori stared at the twins with her arms folded as having to go get Rita.
Lana put her head down as she went to ask to spend the night with Lynn and Lucy; Lincoln ended up catching Lori before she went back to her room. "Lori; I just want to say thanks and I really appreciate you helping me out when I know you are having a stressful enough time coping with the new arrangements yourself..." Lincoln said but Lori put on a smile as she put a hand on his shoulder.
"Are you kidding? You're my little brother and I have to look out for you; I would hate the person I would be if I just ignored you struggling in this stupid house while I just focused on surviving. I know you are younger and it would be easier for them all to eat you alive. Remember all the times I would tell you that even if I had ten other brothers you would still be my favourite?" Lori told him and he smiled up at him and they embraced after Lori got on her knees without knowing that from an open door Luna was glancing.
Luna was now lying on her bed on the phone to her best friend and crush Sam while Luan had gone to sleep. "I don't exactly know what to do Sam... I know that it wouldn't be easy for Lincoln to fit in at first but he seems content on treating us as strangers he has to stay with and not as sisters; it's always Lori he will go to it seems and I think he considers Lori is the only one to turn to... She hasn't said anything yet but I am quite sure that Lori outright hates the house and us..." Luna sighed thinking about how when first seeing the weird funny boy who was the son of her dad's girlfriend even if his sister would not give her and her friends a second thought at school.
How excited she was when she got the news that their parents were getting married so she was getting a new Mum and Lincoln as her first brother! Yet they had yet to bond...
"Luna; I know things are different with you two than me and Simon since he was always my brother but have you actually tried to bond yet? Find something that he likes that you two can do together?" Sam asked and Luna thought it over.
"Well he likes comics, games... Oh, I saw some SMOOCH stuff in his room and I did hear him say that it's his favourite band!" Luna said excitedly.
"There you have it Luna; we can get him a ticket for their next concert so he can come with us! Get you two a chance to bond!" Sam said and Luna thanked her before ending the call.
