Wickerstein: Bit of mixed feelings there. Did ya like the Matrix evolution here? Or did it took you by surprise?

N. Ageless: COMADRE COMO ESTA COMO LE A IDO?!

1- The Christmas Chapter is the one I've always had in my mind when I started this story and shipped Kari and Killua. Maki and Hisoka came later when I thought of the first ship.

2-No, nothing like that. Just my ignorance on how the process works. *Sigh*

3-Good I did great with the couples, score for me. I stick to Canon as much as I can so unless there was a hint of either Ken and Davis being attracted to each other, I left the Kenyako as it is.

4- Glad you liked it, it's the greatest change to this story since the kids learned Nen.

5- Aaaah, for that we'll have to wait and see.

6-Well it's been a month since this review, let's see if you can comment now.

"You really gave me a scare yesterday."

T.K held back a wince at that statement. He woke up after the events from yesterday. Poyomon had evolved into Tokomon overnight, but had yet to wake up; the blonde decided it was better to left his partner sleep.

When he step out of the room, he was met with his mother already up and wanting to talk to him about the events that had been happening around the world.

"I'm sorry…" He mumbled out. He had kept his partner and the reappearance of the Digital World on their lives a secret to not worry his mom, but now the cat is out of the bag.

His mother took a deep breath as she sighed. "The creatures appearing in the city, are they Digimon?"

"Not exactly…" He said, sighing as well. "But it is related to it, and… we are the ones that have to stop them."

"Is Matt in this too?" She asked, obviously feeling worried for her older son as well.

"Yeah," T.K decided to be as forthcoming as possible now, no point in hiding it anymore. He lit up and tried to reassure her. "But everything is going to be okay! We are better prepared for this than we were five years ago! We can handle it, I promise."

His mother stared at him with unreadable eyes, and for a moment he did worry about what she might say. His worries dispelled when she smiled and nodded. "I trust you on this one," She told him. Her smile vanished in a moment, replaced with a thoughtful frown as she cupped her chin, "But… there is something worrying me, son. The other day, I met this strange man…"

T.K immediately tensed. Did she mean Hisoka? Or some new Digimon in disguise like Arukenimon and Mummymon? He swallowed a nervous lump and leaned forward, "A strange man?"

"He talked about the events on Hikarigaoka ten years ago, and the Odaiba fog incident from five years ago…" She mentioned, trailing off. "And that time of change were coming…"

This was too much to be a coincidence, T.K kept his whole attention on his mother as she told him as much as she could about this strange man.

"He also contacted me after the Hikarigaoka incident, sending me various articles and mentioned he made a research on the fog incident…" She said, holding her chin in thought. "Is he related to all of this?"

T.K gulped again, and leaned forward, his body almost parallel to the table on the kitchen. "Mom, tell me, was he human? What did he look like?"

She frowned as she recalled what she knew about him, "He was definitely human, though there was something… eerie about him. He was really tall and pale, with black hair, and wearing a purple trench coat… He did give me his name. Yukio Oikawa."

T.K frowned, pale with black hair and tall… Yukio Oikawa. The name didn't ring any bells and the description either so he couldn't pull any conclusions yet, "I see then. I don't think I know who he is… I'll talk it with the others later," He said.

"First you have to have breakfast," His mom said, getting up and walking to the stove. "I'll make enough for both of us, and your Digimon friend sleeping in your room."

T.K could only beam with happiness at the support from his mom. But his mind was still trying to find any sense to how that strange man the his mother mentioned could fit with everything that is happening and the only explanation filled him with dread.

'Could this Yukio Oikawa be… the Mastermind behind all this?'

"Morniiing…" Davis yawned as he got out of his room.

"Morning dunceface," Jun growled from her face on the couch, her face set in a scowl.

"Wow, what a welcoming sight…" Davis growled back. Normally morning was when Jun wasn't in a mood ready to torment him, so what the heck was up with her today?

"Don't start you two," Their mother said as she chopped some vegetables. "Breakfast is about to be ready, go wash your face Daisuke."

"Right, right…" He said, rubbing his face.

Jun scoffed in her brother's direction, while directing her attention to a piece of broken paper in front of her. What was formerly a pamphlet was now two halves of one, reminding her of a Christmas filled with monsters… and heartbreak.

"Annoying dunceface…" she muttered, though this time not quite thinking about her brother.

From Davis' room a beeping could be heard, which only served to tick her off more. "Davis! I think your computer or something is on, it won't quiet down!"

"Let me take a piss in peace!" The boy yelled through the door.

"What did I said!" Their mothers scolded them; making Jun pout while in the bathroom Davis rolled his eyes.

So caught up she was in her annoyance that she didn't caught up on what the news where saying in television, only catching barely on the images of various children appearing on screen before turning it off.

Ken sighed as he put down his pen and ran a hand through his face, rubbing away his tiredness.

Wormmon snored peacefully, until he started wiggling in place and falling from bed, "WAH!"

Ken blinked as he looked to where his partner was sprawled on the floor, "Wormmon!" He walked up to him and picked him up on his arms. "Are you okay?"

"Yesss, good morning, Ken…" He said, uninjured yet still sounding sleepy. However, the little worm took a closer look to his partner, noticing the sleepiness on his eyes. "Ken, are you alright?"

"Well, yes," Ken said, before putting a hand up to his mouth and stifling a yawn.

"Did you sleep?" Wormmon asked worriedly.

"Well… I got kind of busy," He said, turning to his desk where a notebook was laying before vanishing on thin air. "I decided to be better prepared, I finished the second notebook of Sochi at Izzy's home yesterday after our fight with Triceramon, but with everything happening I thought having a third one wouldn't hurt," He said, rubbing his eyes. "I did get some sleep though, just… got up really early to make it."

"If you say so…" Wormmon didn't look all that convinced.

Ken smiled at his worry and set him on his bed. "I'll see what mom made for breakfast and bring you some—"

He got interrupted when his terminal started to beep. He picked it from his desk and opened it, "Its T.K… says he has something to tell us."

Wormmon just tilted his head in curiosity, wondering what he wanted to tell them.

Cody clasped his hands together along with his grandfather as they stood in front of a small pedestal built for his father, may his soul rest in peace.

As he glanced at the picture of his father, Cody's mind began to turn to the events that have been taking place these past few days. He wondered how he would react to all of it, what he would say, what would he think if he knew his son was involved in all of it.

He turned to his grandfather and sighed. "Grandfather, how did my father died?"

Chikara was clearly surprised, if the way his shoulders tensed and his body gave a small jump was any indication for his grandson, "Why the sudden interest?"

"Well, it's just…" Cody looked down, not finding a good reason for the question and not yet ready to disclose his true reasons to his grandfather.

Despite not getting an answer, Chikara turned to look at his son's picture with a heavy mix of emotions. "Hiroki died protecting an overseas government VIP. I think I told you about it before."

"That's right…" Cody mumbled out. Though back then it was with simpler words since he was way younger.

"Is there anything about it that that stands out to you?" Chikara inquires.

"No… Just…" Cody said, collecting his thoughts before looking up to the picture of his father. "I'm just thinking of the fact that he died protecting other people…"

As Cody was wrapped on his own thoughts, Chikara observed him closely with a hint of worry, before they got interrupted by a beeping coming from Cody's room. "Sorry, I'm going to check what it is," He said as he got up, bowing and retreating back to his room.

Shoveling the last of her breakfast at a fast pace, Yolei set her plate down with a satisfied sigh, "Aaaaah, thanks for the food!"

"Then if you are done give this to your father and sister down at the store," Her mother said as she held out a pair of bentos.

"Okay!" Yolei said brightly, walking up to her and running out of the apartment with a jump on her step.

She delivered successfully the bentos down at the store, getting thankful words from both her dad and her sister. She exited the building and smiled up at the sky. And as she looked around, she couldn't help but feel a bit of pride, they managed to attain this with their fights yesterday.

"So peaceful…" She said as she leaned on the building. "One wouldn't believe all the crazy things that are happening recently."

Tai got out of the bathroom after brushing his teeth and taking a shower, while in the room Killua was checking his terminal with a thoughtful look. "It was T.K," He told him, looking up from the PDA to look at him, "Says he has something to tell us and that it might be important. We were going to gather up anyway to talk about the Matrix Evolution thing. Is Kari awake?"

"Maybe, I mean if T.K's already up then she shouldn't be taking long to get up," Tai reasoned, remembering his sister's state after emerging from Ophanimon.

"If she isn't then I'll wake her up anyways," Killua said as he wrapped his scarf around his neck. "We don't know what might pop up next…"

"Yeah, I've been meaning to talk about it with you…" Tai said, as he crossed his arms and gave him a serious look.

Killua stopped and gave him a curious look.

"It's about Davis and the other kids and Mephismon," Tai explained. "Like you said new enemies might pop up at any moment, we destroyed the towers here, but more of those Deadmon might appear at any moment… some of them able to talk and think like Mephismon did."

Killua exhaled and stuffed his hands on his pockets. "I get what you're getting at. Davis and the others have only faced Digimon with Dark Rings, born from Towers, or Deadmon with no reasoning. The last two, while they looked like Digimon were only mindless beasts, no different than putting down a robot or a rabid animal."

"It's why they fought without hesitation," Tai nodded along. "But if Mephismon is proof of anything is that Deadmon can be smart, that they can think. In some way that puts him on a level like the enemies we faced five years ago."

"Pure evil, yet capable of reasoning, they only know of that through Arukenimon and Mummymon," Killua said. "If more like him come, then it would be like facing enemies from five years ago. Like facing real Digimon… and if our encounters with Arukenimon tell me something is that eliminating them is something their reluctant to do. That's something it'll have to change."

Neither of them really liked the idea. Five years ago they didn't give many thoughts to it, but it was because something happened right after. These kids hadn't taken a life, and that made brought the questions on how they would cope with it.

"There's also the fact that the Mastermind is a human, based on what few we know about him," Killua said. "That is something that not even you guys had to face five years ago."

Tai nodded and sighed. "Bring it up to them when you meet up, okay?"

"Right," Killua said, walking out to the balcony. "I'll wake Kari up to tell her about the message and about this whole issue on the road."

They had to tackle this issue now; it was either through words or by them having to face the reality of the situation themselves.

Kari stretched and felt her muscles and boned popping as she did so. She was already dressed and ready for what might happen today when she heard a tapping noise. She turned and giggled when she saw Killua waving at her with a cat-ish grin that would give her partner a run for her money.

She slid the door open and regarded him with a beaming smile. "Good morning!"

"Morning," Killua greeted back as he walked in. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling great!" She chirped as she closed the door. "Why do you ask?"

Killua shrugged. "It's not every day you fuse with your Digimon…" He looked at the window and added in a dry tone. "Then again most of the things revolving our lives aren't something you see every day."

"You can say that again," She said as she put her scarf around her neck.

"T.K sent us a message, says he has something important to tell us," Killua informed her.

Kari nodded, her smile never fading. "I know, I read it too on my Terminal. I hope they're good news!"

Killua regarded her with a raised eyebrow for a moment at her excitement, "You seem to be in a good mood."

"Why wouldn't I be?" She asked as she moved to where her Digivice and Terminal lay. "Yesterday didn't start off great, but look at what was accomplished! We destroyed towers around our city and according to Gennai Demiveemon's new evolution might help get rid of the ones around the world!" She pumped her fists and smiled brightly. "And now we have the Matrix Evolution, a Mega able to use Nen!"

"Which is a nice feeling to have actually," Added Salamon, who evolved during the night as she stretched too, "shame that I don't get to keep it after we got separated."

"The point is that… with everything that happened, I just feel better about what might come next!" Kari finished with a shining smile on her face.

Killua just stared at her, that positive attitude coming from her almost illuminating the room. He smiled and his posture relaxed a bit. 'Guess she's not the Child of Light for nothing.'

His smile dropped as he remembered why he came in the first place. To talk about how prepared their friends might be at the prospect of killing sentient entities, as evil as they were. That would certainly dampen this bright mood of hers… not to mention that new enemies might appear, that Hisoka is still a threat and that the mastermind is at large.

A part of him didn't want to brought it up after seeing her optimism, to just let her have this moment and then when they gather with the others put this worries on the table… but then again…

"Kaito is still alive!"

He already tried that to a person who was brighter than anything he's ever seen and brought nothing good to it. Like a band aid, better to rip it out already.

He exhaled. "While all that is definitely good and reasons to be on high spirits…we can't ignore some glaring problems. Like what should we do if the others find an enemy like Mephismon, and I'm not talking about if they can beat it, but what would they do if they beat it."

Kari froze and Salamon's eyes widened, they caught up on what he meant, Salamon was the first one to spoke, "You mean how they'll deal with eliminating them."

"They eliminated Deadmon and Control Tower Digimon though," Kari tried to vouch for them, but Killua crossed his arms unconvinced.

"Those don't count, those are the same as breaking robots or putting down rabid animals," Killua said, feeling a tad of annoyance at going through these points again. "Furthermore… the mastermind and Hisoka are both humans and we have yet to find a way to deal with Hisoka. It'll be either sent him back home some way or the other, or to kill him," He said firmly.

That last sentence made Kari look down and rub her arms as a sudden shiver ran down her spine at that thought and Killua sighed, any trace of the good mood she had moments ago was gone.

'Yep, I'm feeling lower than dirt right now…' Not an unfamiliar feeling for him sadly, but he couldn't hide her from this possibilities right now, better for her to get the picture sooner rather than later.

That didn't meant he couldn't try to cheer her up again.

"But hey," He said, calling her attention. "Davis and the others have done things we couldn't do five years ago. They learned Nen, fought Digimon as equals, and now we have this whole Matrix Evolution thing. They will understand what has to be done. And speaking of the Matrix Evolution," He walked forward and patted her shoulder. "Now that you and T.K have it, we do have more chances of winning. Just because I had to be a party pooper doesn't mean those reasons you had to be happy are gone. Let's just take both sides into consideration, okay?"

"Okay…" Kari nodded, taking a deep breath. "Okay!" She said, perking up to regain a bit of that lost mood. "Then I ask to be the one to tell them about the Matrix Evolution, while you tell everything else!"

The way she said it, it was with a mix of giddiness about the new method of evolution, and a bit like a demand. She wanted to tell them the good news while he will deliver the harsh blow of reality he just gave her.

Harsh but fair.

"Fine, fine, I'll do that," He said, rolling his eyes good naturedly.

She smiled, and he felt a pang of relief that he didn't brought down her mood completely. "Alright then," She opened her arms and Salamon jumped in them. "Let's get going."

She left her room before Killua and once he was alone he released a sigh.

The reminder of all they had to deal with was kind of heavy, even if they do have a new trick under their sleeve with that Matrix Evolution thing, their list of problems was still really long.

'I hope this is all over soon…' The sooner they deal with all the threats, the closer he feels he'll be to going back home and be with Alluka and Nanika.

On top of a building, a figure with a red robe watched the city. His red eyes narrowed in a perpetual scowl as they clenched his fists. "This world sickens me…"

"The feeling is shared by all of us," A feminine voice said, he looked to the side to glance at a floating entity covered in black leather, with silver hair coming from beneath a cowl and with eyes as red as his. "They all go on with their lives, living happily under the sun, without being surrounded by the constant weight of the darkness… It's just sickening!" She said in a bitter tone.

"Kakakaka…" A peculiar laugh called their attention. A red skeleton with bat wings and a staff on his hand approached them. "Captain, MarineDevimon's in position. And I don't know about you guys, but I can't stand the sight of these humans. They are just so… alive! They don't need to assimilate dozens of their own kind to be able to do that, they don't have to be crafted by their master! They just are, without any effort, and I hate it!"

"That will be over soon, SkullSatamon, once we get the girl," The hooded one told him. "LadyDevimon, send your scouts to find her, and where she is the Anomaly is definitely nearby. I'll go fetch Morrow so he can play his part."

LadyDevimon flipped her silver hair and raised one of her arms, the one that looked more like a claw than a normal hand. From there a black smoke emerged and small bats flapped out in packs. "Fly my little ones, fly!" She cackled.

"SkullSatamon, since you hate humans so much then destroy as much as you want, call the attention of the Digidestined, our secondary objective is to get rid of them so they won't interfere, and what better way to drag them out than to hurt the people from their world?"

"KAKAKA!" SkullSatamon twirled his staff and flew off. "You got it boss man; those children will find humans in pieces by the time I'm done!"

"MarineDevimon has his orders, so I'll retrieve Hisoka," Wings sprouted from his back, though curiously enough they seem to come from his robe rather from what was underneath. "For the sake of our master and our world, we can't afford to fail understood?!"

"YES CAPTAIN DAEMON!"

With their task assigned the three Deadmon flew on their respective tasks.

"While the towers around the city have been destroyed, it brings confusing thoughts to the people," The news reporter said as he shuffled his papers. "The most common theory is that there are two factions of monsters fighting against each other. Whatever his reasons are remain unknown, but this brings up the question, will this kind of conflicts happen all around the world where the towers have appeared?"

Davis bit into his toast as he stared at the TV, he was never one for news reports, but with everything happening it was better to be informed. There were still towers around the world, but if Gennai's words were to be trusted then Wingdramon was enough to take care of that problem, that would just left finding who is the guy pulling Arukenimon's strings and then find a way to stop him.

"In other news, various children had been reported missing during the chaos," The man of the news said, showing the images of various children around the age of eight to ten. "Their parents affirm that they got separated during the evacuation of the districts. If you have any information on them please call the number on the screen."

Now that got Davis' attention; Children going were missing out of the sudden? Why and how?!

Davis wasn't the only one watching the news. All the other Digidestined stopped on what they were doing once they heard the news, a sense of foreboding settling on their hearts as they watched the man give the details about the incident.

The most violent reaction of all was Ken's.

He paled as he looked at the TV and gripped the back of his neck while shivers ran down his spine and he clenched his fists. His mother noticed and was at his side in an instant. "Ken, honey, what's wrong?"

"Those children… why?" Why was this affecting him so much though? a part of him wondered. He didn't know, he just felt the back of his neck burning, as if an old wound was flaring up.

His mother looked between him and the TV, took the remote and shut it off. "How worrisome, as if things weren't bad enough," Maybe it was the stress of everything that was happening what was affecting her son, missing children was the last thing the world needed at these moments. "Are you okay, sweetie?"

"I… yes… Yes I am," He said, rubbing his neck. But that couldn't be farther from the truth, the Child of Kindness felt a pit on his stomach that wouldn't be easily removed.

He needed to get to the bottom of this; even if it was an unrelated incident he wanted those kids to be safe from whoever had taken them. For both their sakes and his, to know why such an event was giving him this reaction.

Bells tolled and people clapped, everything was going so perfect on a yacht where a couple was getting married. Sailing peacefully on the lake under the rainbow bridge the couple had decided that now that the towers on the district had been destroyed and the monsters had vanished, it had to be now or never for them to make their ceremony official. They exchanged bows, traded their rings and eagerly waited for the minister of the wedding to say the words they were yearning to hear, and when he did the two of them inched closer for their lips to meet.

Sadly it wasn't to be. As the once calm waters now rippled and the yacht started to rock in the turbulent waves, the people holding to dear life to whatever they could hold onto. And from the waves a massive figure started surging, twice as big as the yacht. With black skin with tones of grey at some parts, and with tentacles sprouting from its back, the monster's red eyes glared at the yacht as it raised one of the limbs on its back and struck the side of the boat, effortlessly toppling it over and sending everyone in it to the water.

The people that were driving on the bridge stopped and looked down to see what just occurred. And call it fate or a coincidence, Hiroaki Ishida was there with his crew. He got out of the car and ran to the edge of the bridge to get a closer look to the monster. "Another one…" He breathed out. "This is bad…!"

"Mister Ishida!" He turned to see Charlie coming to him with a panicked expression. "More of those monsters are appearing, not only that thing on the lake, but there's sightings of one on East Ginza!"

"Get in the car now!" Hiroaki barked as he took the lead. "We know what this means, so we have to get there first to either cover it or help whoever we can! We can't do much here!"

"R-Right!" Charlie said, running after him.

The two men entered the car and closed the door to start it. They moved out of the traffic and went to East Ginza. Just as he tried focusing on the road, Charlie's phone went off and he picked it up to answer.

"H-Hello?" He asked, nervously. Moments later his eyes bulged out and he gasped in shock. "Really?!" He lowered the phone and looked at his boss, "Mister Ishida, in Ginza too!"

Hiroaki growled in frustration and took out his phone to send a message with it to one of his contacts—a contact that, as much as he didn't wanted to, it was going to get involved with these events.

Charlie gulped at the conflicted expression on his boss' face. "W-Who're you texting, sir?"

Hiroaki sighed as he pressed the send button and leaned back on the seat, wishing he had a single cigarette. "The only ones I know can do something about this."

T.K bolted out of his apartment, ignoring his mother's calls for his name, a recently evolved Patamon flapping hurriedly behind him. Both he and Matt had received a text from their dad about these recent sightings. T.K had sent messages to all his friends with the D-Terminal, while Matt contacted the older group.

When he reached the lower plant, he was met with the hurried expressions of Yolei and Cody, the young boy approaching him with urgency, "T.K!"

"Killua just texted," Yolei said, waving her D-Terminal. "Says Joe and Izzy are going to the Rainbow Bridge, Matt, Mimi and Sora to East Ginza, and Tai, Kari and him will go to East Ginza along with Ken and Davis."

"I see then," T.K said with a nod. "Cody and I will go to the bridge," He turned to the younger boy. "With Submarimon and Pteramon on our side we can help on both air and the water."

"Right," Cody nodded, finding his logic solid.

"Then I'll go help in East Ginza!" Yolei said giving a mock salute. "I don't know what's there, but seems like the best place to act!"

"Okay then, good luck!" He told the girl as they parted ways to their respective goals.

The highway in East Ginza was the first one to suffer from the sudden attack. The tunnel was suddenly swarmed by bats, blocking the vision of the cars circulating and causing them to crash against one another.

In a plaza on top of a light poster LadyDevimon cackled wickedly as she observed the chaos her little vermin had caused on the people. One of them floated on her shoulder and she pet it, "So the Child of Light is heading to where SkullSatamon is. That brute will definitely take advantage of Lord Dagmon's exact words. No matter the state she's in, as long as she breathes…"

She almost felt sorry for the girl… almost.

"Kakaka!" SkullSatamon cackled as he swung his scythe on a man, making a gnash on his back where blood seep out. "These humans break so easily, I sure hope the Digidestined last longer, Kakaka!"

From the top of a building, Hisoka watched the spectacle. He had a few bandages covering his body, result of the fight he had yesterday against Killua, and lacking a healer like the white haired boy did.

He looked to the side to see Arukenimon and Maki standing on top of a train's roof, the normal human woman looking nervous at being so high, while Arukenimon kept a hand on her shoulder to prevent her from falling, and behind her glasses she gave Hisoka a glare.

Hisoka looked away and almost rolled his eyes. It seemed Arukenimon thought she could use Maki as a hostage for his collaboration, when he could kill her before she realized, and it wasn't even necessary, he was going to do it anyways. And it's not like Maki was necessary for his plans.

Though, he didn't like being bossed around, and much less with so many possible interruptions around.

This whole capturing the girl thing was getting old for him.

Cody and T.K arrived at a scene where a battle was already taking place. Ikkakumon and Kabuterimon attacked the giant monster on the water with their respective attacks from different angles, yet the limbs from the beast defended it from each missile and from each blast.

"Electroshock!"

"Harpoon Vulcan!"

Even the ones that hit its body just seemed to leave no mark, just some small burn marks that vanished as if they were never there. Whatever this Deadmon was it was stronger than the ones they've dealt with.

"Okay, I'm ready to join that party!" Armadillomon said, ready to jump into the water.

T.K frowned. "It seems we won't be able to help you, so we'll leave it to you," He told Patamon.

"You can count on us!" His partner reassured.

Both boys raised their Digivices, with Cody saying the phrase for Armor Evolution. "Digimental Up!"

"Armadillomon Armor Digivolves to… Submarimon! A Reliable Tsunami!"

"Patamon Digivolves to… Angemon!"

With Angemon aiding Kabuterimon and Submarimon helping Ikkakumon, they hoped the fight will tip on their favor. Both of them attacked in synch hoping to at least make their opponent flinch away in pain.

"Hand of Fate!" Angemon's fist glowed orange as he launched the blast at the head of the monster, only for it to be blocked by one of the tentacles on its back

"Submarine Attack!" Submarimon started spinning to act like a drill under water, aiming for the lower torso of their opponent, but like with his friend in the sky, it was blocked and he was batted away. "Ugh!"

Kabuterimon flew close to Angemon. "Maybe if we attack together we could actually do something!"

"Right then, let's do it!" The angel said, charging energy on his fists. "Hand of Fate!"

"Electroshock!" Both attacks hit their mark. The head of the monster got pulled back from the force of the attack.

Submarimon emerged to glare at the monster, and Ikkakumon swam to his side, "How you doing, mate?"

"Wanting some takoyaki right now…" Submarimon said with resentment towards their enemy, before adopting a thoughtful look. "No, wait… that's from octopi. Whatever, let's hit him! Oxygen Blast!"

"Harpoon Vulcan!" Ikkakumon followed suit, the blast of condensed air and the missiles striking the lower body of the monster.

For a moment it remained immobile as the attacks struck him. However, before they could even feel relief or thought they might have actually taken care of it, the monster unleashed a roar and sent his limbs to attack in all directions. The ones in the air got swatted away like flies while the ones in the water got carried away by the ripples its movements caused on the water.

From the street Cody grimaced, while T.K clenched his fists in frustration, "It's so strong…" The younger boy said.

"HEYYY!"

The two boys turned to see Izzy and Joe running up to them, the redhead having his laptop tucked under his shoulder. "Finally we found you!" Joe said with a smile as they met up.

"This opponent," Izzy said as he turned to look at the behemoth. "It doesn't appear on my database," He said, as he held his computer on a hand. "Up to this point these Deadmon took appearances of Digimon, but now…"

"It isn't the first one…" T.K said garnering the attention of everyone present. "Yesterday Kari and I faced a Deadmon that didn't look like any Digimon we met before…" He frowned as he looked at the monster in a new sense of dread. 'Could it be as strong as Mephismon?'

"We should step up then," Izzy said. "If Ultra isn't enough, then we can move to Mega from there. Kabuterimon and I did it yesterday."

Cody frowned as he observed his partner, "If I regress Submarimon back to Armadillomon he could be in danger, and even then Ankylomon and Gogmamon aren't the best option in water."

Joe smiled at him and put a hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, just keep aiding us by keeping that thing distracted, okay."

Cody nodded. "Okay."

The three veterans raised their Digivices, the symbols of their Crest glowing in their screens.

"Ikkakumon Ultra Digivolves to… Zudomon!"

"Kabuterimon Ultra Digivolves to… MegaKabuterimon!"

"Angemon Ultra Digivolves to… Magnaangemon!"

"Vulcan Hammer!" With a size to rival their opponent, Zudomon jumped at the monster with his hammer raised high. The monster crossed his limbs behind its back and blocked the attack, the electricity crackling from the hammer seemingly doing no effect to it.

"Horn Buster!" MegaKabuterimon launched his attack from up high, aiming to the unprotected back of the monster.

It wasn't meant to be however, as it pushed Zudomon away and turned around to fire a big, black fire ball to match up to the insect's attack. Making an explosion that covered its vision from the insect.

The smoke screen parted away and Magnaangemon dived towards it, aiming the sword on his wrist at it, "Excalibur!"

It raised its tentacles to block the sword, yet the tip broke through its limb like a hot knife through butter. The monster growled in pain and swung its limb away to try and get rid of the angel. Magnaangemon tore his sword out and flew high to thrust it down at it again.

The monster spew fire balls at him that he cut and dispelled with his sword, all to keep him occupied. Its eyes narrowed and it looked to the side where the Digidestined where standing. It grunted and looked down.

"The child… Is not here…"

Everyone gasped as the words came out of its mouth. "Did it just…" Cody started, before being interrupted by what it was doing.

Its body became surrounded by mist and it slowly started sinking, the Digimon present and their partners watching it disappear beneath the waves. Zudomon swam down, yet he didn't see the body of their enemy. He resurfaced and looked at his friends. "It's gone!"

"It's the same as Mephismon…" Magnaangemon theorized. But it was even worse since under water it would be harder to find.

"We have to find him!" T.K said, if this opponents were like Mephismon then there would be troubles.

"Wait, T.K!" Joe said, putting a hand on his shoulders and pointing to the side.

Some of the people on the yacht had found safe boats to drift in the river, huddling close to one another as they observed the battle between the Digimon and the monster.

"We should make sure they can at least make it to shore safely," Joe said. The future doctor in him prioritizes the lives of the innocents.

T.K nodded and sighed, taking out the terminal. "I'll tell the others to be careful with the other Deadmon on they might face."

The two veterans nodded and told their partner to aid those adrift; all the while Cody had a troubled look on his face.

'That Deadmon… It talked…' He turned to the others. 'They heard it too… Then it was alive…' Suddenly his thoughts went back to BlackWargreymon and BlackMetalGarurumon and the deep conflict he felt at the notion of eliminating them. 'What are we going to do when we face them again?'

Deep down he knew his predecessors already knew the answer that even he himself knew it, but it didn't mean he was ready for it.

Her Terminal beeped and she flipped it open to see what it was about, "From T.K?" Yolei muttered from the top of Aquilamon's back as they made their way to East Ginza.

"What does it say?" Sora asked from Birdramon's back, Mimi and Palmon along with her,the group having met on their way to the square of East Ginza.

"'Be careful with, they're really strong'," She quote. "Stronger than what we've seen until now?"

"I mean, we barely tried when eliminating the Deadmon from yesterday," Mimi pointed out.

"Too true," Yolei conceded with a head tilt.

"Speak for yourselves…" Muttered Matt with a sigh as he rode Garurumon's back, remembering what happened yesterday. "If T.K says that then he knows what he's talking about.

Mimi looked at him. "What do you mean?" She asked.

"Hopefully nothing," He told her with a smile.

"Matt, heads up!" Garurumon barked, making his partner look forward.

A flock of bats coated on black fire was charging towards them. With her wings busy keeping her steady in the air Birdramon couldn't respond, so it was up to Aquilamon and Garurumon to stand in the front and do something about this.

"Explosive Rings!"

"Howling Buster!"

Both attacks tried to push the bats away, but they pushed through and impacted against the two, biting and burning the Digimon and their respective partners. "ARGH!"

"Matt!/Yolei/Aquilamon!" All the girls called for their friends name, Birdramon landed and extended her wings to flap and shoo the bats away.

"Fufufu," They all looked up to see a feminine figure that was familiar to the veteran girls. "It really is a shame that the Child of Light didn't came to me. I saw her partner through my darlings, and she was an eyesore."

"Lady…Devimon," Sora breathed out, recognizing the Digimon as Piedmon's right hand from five years ago.

"Oh? Have we met before? Or maybe a Digimon with this appearance?" She asked, gesturing to her body.

"A Digimon with… what are you?" Palmon asked.

She only chuckled and raised her hand. "I think you're already familiar with my kind." Then her eyes hardened. "And this will be for all of those you eliminated. Darkness Wave!"

More bats erupted from her hand, going straight towards the girls. Birdramon and Palmon weren't going to let their partners be harmed, not on their watch.

"Birdramon Ultra Digivolves to… Garudamon!"

"Palmon Digivolves to… Togemon! Togemon Ultra Digivolves to… Lilymon!"

"Blade Wing!"

"Flower Canon!"

The girls moved away from their partners as they unleashed their attacks to fight back against LadyDevimon's. Meanwhile on the side Yolei stared at their opponent with confusion, while Matt did so with dread.

"She's a Deadmon… right?" She questioned. "Then… why is she talking?"

"That only makes her more dangerous," Matt said, holding his Digivice up. "Garurumon, let's do this!"

"Right away Matt!" The wolf said as he glared at the female Digimon.

Aquilamon got up and nudged her partner. "Yolei, snap out of it, we gotta help!"

"Oh… right!" She said, clenching her Digivice. She will question this later, this… woman? Woman. Had to be stopped.

"Aquilamon Ultra Digivolves to… Hippogryphmon!"

"Garurumon Ultra Digivolves to… WereGarurumon!"

The white feathered Digimon flew behind the female's back and charged his attack on his mouth, "Heat Wave!"

LadyDevimon turned around and took a long breath and then exhaled a plum of fire to counter the blast from the Digimon. An explosion took place and she flew out of it and landed a right hand blow to the face of the avian Digimon followed with a side kick to the head that sent him to the floor.

"Hippogryphmon!" Yolei yelled in distress. She glared at the devil and let her Ren explode around her. "You witch!"

She focused Nen on her feet and flew upwards, when in the air she reared her fist back and used Ryu to focus more aura on her left hand to give her a powerful hook. But just when she was centimeters away from hitting her mark, the woman vanished from sight.

She felt something tugging her hair and give out a little cry of pain, "How uncouth. Ugly bitches like you should learn her place," She released her and gave a kick to her sides to send her to the floor.

"AGH!" She hit the floor painfully and her glasses falling from her face.

"YOLEI!" The girls and Matt ran to her side, Mimi falling to her knees and cradling her in her arms. "Are you okay?"

"Ouch… She really hits hard…" The purplette groaned as she was cradled by a worried Mimi, while Sora passed her glasses to her.

"Wolf Fang Fist!" WereGarurumon jumped and unleashed a barrage of punches at the female creature.

LadyDevimon waved and moved out of the way of the attacks with extreme ease, she even went as far as to catch the fists of the wolf on her hands and gripped them tight. WereGarurumon threw his head back and howled in pain, much to her pleasure, before landing a head-butt to let him go and give a kick to the side of his head to send him to the floor.

"WereGarurumon!" Matt called after his partner when he saw him fall.

However her fun was cut off short when a giant form loomed over her, she turned around and caught Garudamon's giant hands on hers, the two grappling for superiority while Garudamon snarled at her. "You're going to pay for that!"

Lilymon floated above them, taking advantage of her friend holding their enemy in place, "Flower Canon!"

She fired her attack, aiming at the back of their opponent. LadyDevimon whoever was faster, she gave a kick to the chin of Garudamon to stun her and gripped her arms to turn and use her as a shield to block the attack, "GAH!"

"No!" Lilymon gasped as she saw her getting hurt.

"Garudamon!" Sora screamed for her partner seeing her hurt, while Mimi gasped at her partner being used for it.

LadyDevimon let her go and kicked her aside and extended her hand, "Darkness Wave!" Her bats charged at Lilymon and as they did she puffed her cheeks and exhaled black fire to set them ablaze.

Lilymon tried using her Flower Canon at them, but the many bats as well as the fire soon overwhelmed her.

"LILYMON!" Mimi shrieked for her partner.

"Fufufu! Is this all you can do?! Feeble!" She mocked them as she raised her arms. "Taking the girl away from you is going to…" before she could finish, one of her bats landed on her shoulder and chirped, "Uh?"

The bats around Lilymon vanished and she fell to the floor with burn marks around them. Hippogryphmon, WereGarurumon and Garudamon got back to their feet and glared at the strange Deadmon.

LadyDevimon narrowed her eyes and huffed. "I see then. We're going with the human's plan…" She floated down from her position as she glared at her opponents. "You were lucky brats. It seems my fun will have to be cut short."

She touched the floor and started sinking into it, until she was one with her shadow which like a snake slithered away.

The girls just stared at the place where her enemy sank. "W-What just happened?" Yolei asked as she readjusted her glasses.

"… I don't know," Mimi said, reaffirming her grip on the younger girl. "I hope the others are okay."

Sora nodded. "Whatever this LadyDevimon was, we haven't' seen the last of her."

"I have a pretty good idea of what we just faced…" Matt told them solemnly. "And I hope Tai and the others are ready. And if we do see this Deadmon or whatever it was, we won't hold back, it'll be Mega or nothing."

The veteran girls nodded with determination, while Yolei did so nervously; different kind of thoughts going through her mind at the prospect of fighting that strange Deadmon again.

The group that went to Ginza was greeted with a horrific sight, bodies of different humans laid lifelessly on the floor with cuts on their backs. The Children and their partners all had horrified expressions at the gruesome sight, the sole exception being Killua who looked more angered than horrified due to being used to sights like this.

When the horror passed, for the boys there was only anger and indignation. Davis looked away and gritted his teeth. "Damn it, this is just… Fuck!"

Ken lowered his gaze and bit his lips. Unwillingly memories of his time as the Emperor came back; a massacre like this could have only being made by a monster like who he was back then.

Tai just felt frustration that they couldn't have arrived in time to save this people and who knows how many others. For what they know Ginza has been successfully evacuated, but now they know some weren't that fortunate.

Their partners and Angewomon lowered their heads in respect while sharing the anger the boys felt. They were going to stop whoever did this from ever making something similar.

Kari for her part felt sorrow for this innocent people; they didn't deserve this, no one deserved this. A hand rose to her mouth as she looked away, "W-Who could have done this?"

The answer came in the form of a malicious cackling, "Kakaka that would have been me, Child of Light!"

From the sky a figure landed in front of them with a loud 'THUD', lifting up a bit of dust in the process, when it cleared it revealed the form of a skeletal being holding a staff on his hands.

Angewomon's eyes widened behind her helmet, "SkullSatamon?!"

"Kakaka! So you know me?! Or maybe just the species which appearances' I took?! Kaka!" SkullSatamon cackled as he put his staff behind his neck in a relaxed manner.

"This guy, he's a Deadmon, isn't it?" Wingdramon asked as he leveled the skeleton with a dubious look. "I thought they were like the Control Tower Digimon."

"We thought so too…" MetalGreymon said, remembering Mephismon from the day prior.

"You were the one responsible for this, weren't you?" Killua asked with a tone as cold as ice and his aura flowing out from him.

"Pfff, who else could have been, sour puss over there?" He jabbed his finger upward and the Digidestined gasped when they saw who it was.

"Hello~" Hisoka waved his fingers at them as he used his Bungee Gum on his feet to walk vertically down the building and into the street. "I'm glad to see everyone so soon~"

'Fan-fucking-tastic!' Killua thought as he glared at the other Hunter present, his momentary panic going away when he saw Hisoka closely and the bandages he had. 'He's still injured from yesterday… And we have VictoryGreymon right now. Maybe we can use that to our advantage; Kari could deal with this skeleton guy along with Ken and Davis,' He thought as he used Gyo to look at Hisoka, not wanting to get stuck with Bungee Gum out of the sudden.

"Well then Morrow, do your thing and kill the Anomaly!" SkullSatamon said as he twirled his staff around. "The Child of Light and her friends are mine, so I can deliver them to my lord!"

"Right, right…" Hisoka said as he craned his neck and walked forward with his eyes closed.

He zeroed his eyes on Killua and then focused Nen on his feet. He gave them a small burst and dashed straight for the boy, Killua crossed his arms in front of him, yet the strength behind it was enough to send him skidding back and apart from his friends.

"Sparky!" Davis was the first to move, focusing his Nen on his feet to use his Hatsu.

SkullSatamon's empty sockets flashed red as he flew high. "None of you are going anywhere!"

He just moved. Becoming a blur that could not be seen by any of them, he appeared in front of Davis and slammed his staff on his gut, the force of it sending him crashing to the wall of a building.

"Davis!" Wingdramon knew what he had to do. Just as SkullSatamon moved again so did he.

Their speeds were matched, none of them could be seen by either human or Digimon.

While the two of them moved around, Hisoka attacked with fasts strikes at Killua, keeping him on the defensive, until he gave him a kick that sent the boy into an alley. He crashed against a garbage deposit and Hisoka smirked as he followed.

"Explode Sonic Lance!" A resounding boom sounded in the sky, above all the buildings as SkullSatamon's staff and the lance on Wingdramon's back clashed against one another.

SkullSatamon smirked and pushed the lance back with barely any effort, before smacking his staff at the top of the dragon's head. His eyes bulged out and he was sent crashing to the floor.

"Wingdramon!" JewelBeemon exclaimed in worry.

SkullSatamon blurred in front of him before he could do any other movements, his speed making it seem as if he teleported there and landed a powerful kick to his chin and then one to his stomach. JewelBeemon was sent bouncing down the street.

"JewelBeemon!" Ken exclaimed in worry as he summoned the second version of Sochi and ripped a page that formed a TEC-9 and aimed it at the demon.

"Where are you looking at?" The voice of their enemy whispered on his ear, making Ken gasp.

Before the boy knew what was happening he received a smack from a backhanded fist that sent him towards a wall, his back impacting painfully against the concrete.

"Celestial Atmosphere!"

"Giga Destroyer!"

Angewomon and MetalGreymon launched their respective attacks at the skeleton, but he turned and aimed his staff at them, "Nail Bone!" A yellow blast came from the staff and impacted with both of their attacks, making MetalGreymon's missiles vanish and Angewomon's atmosphere to dissipate, the attack going so far as to reach the two Ultimates, whom screamed in pain at receiving the attack, "AAAGH!"

"Kakakaka!" SkullSatamon cackled triumphantly, before a kick sent him away from his victims. "Ugh!?"

He looked up to see Kari covered by Sunlight glaring angrily at him. The demon cackled. "Kaka, Child of Light. Let's see what your powers are truly capable of!"

Kari trembled with anger as she glared at the demon. "I won't forgive you… for what you did to this people!"

Her friends slowly got back up after receiving their attacks and gathered around her. Tai stared clenching his fists as he felt powerless to do nothing but trust his sister and friends; he looked up to MetalGreymon and took out his Digivice. "This guy is different from the ones before, MetalGreymon!"

The cyborg looked down at his partner and nodded, "Right!"

His body glowed as he reversed back to Agumon, just as a bright light came from Tai's Digivice.

"Agumon Warp Digivolves to… VictoryGreymon!"

Angewomon floated above Kari before reverting back to Gatomon and landing in front of her, making Davis, Ken and their partners look at her in confusion, "Kari, let's do it!"

"Right…" She raised her Digivice as her whole aura changed to a pinkish color, "Matrix Evolution!"

"Gatomon Digivolves to… Ophanimon!"

The younger boys and their partners gawked as they observed the surging of this new Digimon. Davis looked around, his faced morphed in confusion. "W-W-What just happened? Where's Kari?"

"That's a Mega level?" Ken muttered as he stared at Ophanimon's back.

"Don't time to gawk guys!" Ophanimon said, making them snap out of their trance. "We'll explain later, but focus on what we have in front of us!"

They knew she was right and nodded, the two getting serious as their Ren let itself loose from their bodies and their partners towered over them ready to fight.

SkullSatamon threw his head back and laughed with energy. "KAKAKAKA! So that's the power that took down Mephismon!"

Ophanimon narrowed her eyes at him behind his helmet. "Then you know that he was not rival to either I or my friend, why continue to fight?"

SkullSatamon twirled his staff around and pointed it at her. "Child, the death of Mephismon taught our master all we needed to know about your new power! I won't go down as easy as he did! Let me show you!"

He blurred away and Ophanimon gritted her teeth as she raised her shield to block a thrust from her opponent, the strength behind the attack still sending her skidding back. VictoryGreymon took his chance and flew up to attack, his Dramon Breaker and SkullSatamon's staff clashing against one another and from behind JewelBeemon and Wingdramon charged at him.

SkullSatamon's head turned at eighty degrees and opened his mouth to unleash a barrage of flames towards the incoming Ultras, while he parried the Dragon Warrior away and blurred away.

The Digimon all gathered in the air to glare at a building where their opponent had landed, giving them all a cocky smirk. "Nice warm up, ready to actually start?"

Killua straightened and glared at Hisoka as the man entered the alleyway. The boy took a fighting position as his Ren flared up around him. Hisoka smirked and licked his lips, and Killua had to ignore the way his pant bulged for the sake of his sanity, "Ah~ Killua. Sweetheart, dear boy~, as much as I'd like to dance this dangerous tango again I think it's best if we just have a heart to heart right now?"

"What are you babbling about now?" Killua said, his tone having an underlay of exasperation.

Hisoka looked out to the street to see SkullSatamon fighting effortlessly against the Digidestined and Arukenimon and Maki watching from a safe distance. He looked back at the boy and shrugged with a sigh. "Listen, as much as it could be easy to kill you right now, and trust me it would be easy," He said as his Hatsu came to be and his body was coated with Bungee Gum. "I genuinely don't want that. Not for you and not even for your friends."

"What about Kari?" He asked narrowing his eyes and not letting his guard down around the man.

"My benefactor and leader of the creatures that have invaded this world just want her, it can't be helped," Hisoka said with a shrug. "However I decided to make a bet and put my chances with you."

Seeing his confused look he didn't took long to elaborate. "This whole mission on getting the girl has become too dull for me. However I have no guarantee that once I hand her to my 'benefactor' that he would send me back to our world. That's where you come in."

He tapped his chin and gave Killua a thoughtful look. "I know for a fact that you had a hand defeating the Dark Masters before, five years ago to be exact. And yesterday I saw a boy older than your friends from when we met when I was sent to the Digital World. There are two generations of Digidestined after the one where I participated in, the second one destroyed the Dark Masters and the third one is the ones currently fending off the forces of my benefactor and the ones whose Nen you've awoken, am I right?"

Killua never lowered his stance, but did shift uncomfortably at how Hisoka pieced that information so quickly. "Yes."

"Good, then considering how long ago the Dark Masters were defeated and the fact that you were back at our world five months ago moving away your sister then you found a way back home sort of how I did. Homeostasis sent you back once the duty was fulfilled. Now you and your friends can move back and forth between this world and the Digital World, yet you aren't able to go back… or else where's that adorable little sister of yours?" His eyes glistened and his smirk widened when Killua's eye narrowed and his hands twitched. "But you wouldn't have given up on her… there must be something in mind for you to go back right?"

"… There's a gate in the making, for me to go back home," He told him. "It's said it should be ready soon."

"'Soon' so there's not a definite date…" Hisoka gave Killua a glare. "And I am not that patient. Just as I am changing my alliance to my benefactor I can do it with you so here's the deal: Before this year ends you find a way back home for me, or else I'll kill you and hand that girl to my benefactor. The only reason why I'm even giving you a chance right now is because I see your potential and I wish to one day see in what will it blossom. But fail me, my boy, and there'll be hell to pay. You can try any way you want… even taking it up to the big guy bringing those monsters here. I already had my fun, I fought Mega Digimon and gauge your strength, but I have business to attend at our home. I recommend you to hurry since there's only a week left for this year to end."

Killua gritted his teeth as he felt Hisoka's malicious aura almost suffocating him. He didn't know how he was going to achieve this, hell Gennai hasn't told him how the door back to his home was progressing! And now he has to do it for him, Alluka and Nanika, and this lunatic!

The malicious aura receded and Hisoka smiled. "Now let's do this believable," He extended his arms as he dropped his Hatsu. "Come, you can give me your best shot right now to make it seem as if you beat me. I'm already wounded for yesterday's fight so it'll be believable. But don't go with murderous intent… I will know, and then we'll have a problem."

Killua gritted his teeth and focused Nen on his left fist. He dashed forward and slammed his hand on the jester's face and sent him crashing against the wall next to him, leaving a dent on it with Hisoka imbedded on him.

With raging emotions Killua ran out of the alleyway leaving the magician slumped into the alley, all the while the weight of the situation settling into his shoulders, 'Damn it, damn it, damn it!'

Hisoka lay on the floor of the alleyway as he licked the small trail of blood that was coming out of his lip. He straightened and looked out as Killua ran to join in the fun of the fight, his eyes narrowing before turning around to walk out and reunited with the spider and Maki. All the while he kept his mind on the white haired boy. 'You better don't disappoint me like little Gon did, Killua, If you ever want to see your sister again and keep that little girl safe.'

Sparks flew around as the weapons clashed. Ophanimon's javelin and VictoryGreymon's Dramon Breaker working in tandem to fight against SkullSatamon, whom received their blows and counter and parried them with his staff, all the while his insufferable cackling continued to ring on their ears.

"Spike Buster!"

"Explode Sonic Lance!"

It was almost as if the demon had eyes behind his back, because for every time JewelBeemon or Wingdramon tried to help the skeleton would turn and unleash a barrage of black fire to send them back. His quick reflects able to match Wingdramon's famous speed.

Ken and Davis used the Nen propelling technique to reach a building where they could be closer to the main fighters. They would be lying if they said they didn't felt intimidated by the magnitude of the fight, but they refused to just sit in the sidelines.

Ken ripped a page from his book and held a rocket launcher on his hands, while Davis focused Nen on his feet and jumped upwards, "Fire Tornado!"

At the same time Ken fired a projectile towards their enemy along with the sphere of energy from his friend. SkullSatamon parried a blow from the two Megas and aimed his staff at the incoming attacks, "Nail Bone!"

The yellow beam that emerged from the rod impacted against the attacks, causing an explosion that covered the entire area. From the resulting cloud of smoke, Ophanimon and VictoryGreymon emerged; landing on the same building as the two boys and when it cleared away the demon was there. Red sockets glowing with malice and his insufferable cackling coming from his head.

"This guy… is way stronger than Mephismon…" Ophanimon muttered feeling a deep pit forming on her stomach. Mephismon had already being a though opponent, but this one was handling two Megas and two Ultras, plus two Nen users with ease.

Time to see just how far her Nen abilities worked in this body then, she took a deep breath and her aura started flowing around her. She gripped her weapon tight and charged, "Eden's Javelin!"

SkullSatamon grunted as he brought his weapon up and blocked the thrust. However the strength behind it was enough to send him flying back into the air. He extended his wings and stopped his flight while giving the Mega the evil eye. "That power the Anomalies possess… What a drag."

The aura around Ophanimon exploded as Sunlight covered her and she charged, her thrusts now carrying much more strength that forced the skeleton on the defensive. However as their weapons connected again she actually struggled to push even further, his stance had grown stronger and he wasn't budging under her strength.

"It seems if I don't hold back with you I'll be toast. Now I know why our lord has such expectations so you better meet them!" As he said this his mouth opened and unleashed a big torrent of black flames that pushed Ophanimon back.

"VICTORY CHARGE!"

"SPIKE BUSTER!"

"EXPLODE SONIC LANCE!"

"FIRE TORNADO"

Most of Ophanimon's allies launched their attacks at the demon, while Ken got out another heavy weapon to fire at their enemy. SkullSatamon narrowed his eyes and raised his staff, "NAIL BONE!"

Instead of a singular beam of light, different lightning bolts emerged from his staff. They impacted against the Digimon coming his way and on the missiles thrown in his direction, the Digimon all shrieked in pain as they got impacted. They collapsed to the floor and only by a miracle and strength of will they didn't regressed to their base forms, or even lower.

Ophanimon saw her friends of the floor when she got back up and walked up to them, her wings glowing with an angelical light, "Eden's Air!"

Their energies barely came back to them; Ophanimon didn't have the time to fully heal them when a blast of fire forced her to leap back as the skeleton cackled in mockery, "KAKAKA! Oh so we have a healer between us! Heal them all you want Child of Light! I will continue to drain their strength with my NAIL BONE!"

Just as he said this another rain of bolts fell down towards them. VictoryGreymon dismantled his Dramon Breaker and charged his attack towards the beam coming his way, "TRIDENT GAIA!"

Wingdramon tried to do the same as blue flames licked his muzzle. "BLAZE SONIC BREATH!"

"SEPHIROT CRYSTALS!" Ophanimon launched her own attack to protect her friends, even when no bolts were coming her way.

Davis and Ken fired again, yet the monster noticed them and blurred out of the way. Both boys gasped and their blood ran cold as they heard a cold cackling coming from behind them.

"Kaka… did you think I forgot about you?" He asked as he lowered his staff to their level and flames licked his lipless face.

"Shit!" Davis swore as Ken and he turned to look at the monster.

"Davis!" Wingdramon was the first to move as usual. He blurred over to tower over SkullSatamon as he prepared his attack to try and burn the skeleton to a crisp. "Blaze Sonic—"

Yet SkullSatamon smirked and lifted his head to match the dragon. With his black flames he would attack Wingdramon and with the other kill the boys. The others on the floor try to move to save their friends, yet it seemed they wouldn't make it in time.

Until two cords wrapped around SkullSatamon, one around his neck and the other around the hand holding the staff, catching him by surprise. The demon turned around to see a figure with white hair in the air, with a thunderous expression on his face and with electricity cackling around him.

"Narukami," He spoke in a low tone.

Electricity coursed through the body of the skeleton making him shriek in pain and forgetting about the attack against the boys. This gave the Digimon an opportunity to reach them and take advantage of the openings while the boys leaped out of the building, preparing their own attacks.

"TRIDENT GAIA!"

"—BREATH!"

"SPIKE BUSTER!"!

"SEPHIROT CRYSTALS!"

"FIRE TORNADO!"

Ken ripped a part of his book and with one last missile launcher, he joined his friends in the team effort of taking down the monster.

All the attacks converged into one and impacted fully on the paralyzed skeleton. An explosion took place and the boys were all flying back, Ken and Davis got caught by their partners while Killua flipped and crouched using a Nen burst in the last second to soften his fall.

When the smoke dissipated there was nothing left, except for dots of black dust getting carried by the wind.

From their watching spot Arukenimon seethed with anger. "Anomaly…!"

"If he's here then… what happened with Hisoka?" Maki questioned as she glared at Arukenimon.

"The hell should I know?!" Arukenimon snarled as she grabbed her by the arm. "You are already involved in this so come. We'll use master's plan B to lure that child!"

With the battle over the group settled away from where it had taken place, Ophanimon separated before being able to heal them completely, leaving a tired out Kari and an equally tired Nyaramon though they managed to stay conscious, VictoryGreymon had regressed back to Koromon, while the two Ultras regressed to their Rookie levels.

Ken and Davis stared solemnly at the building where they had finished their opponent, the spiky haired boy sighing and stuffing his hand on his pockets. "That guy… it was a Deadmon, right? I mean… It could talk like a Digimon and all… And yet we…"

"We eliminated him… it was for the best," Ken said a bit more stoically, yet they could notice the uneasiness on his voice.

Kari eyed them with sympathy. That moment her brother and Killua waited for finally came.

"So?" Tai asked, making the two boys look at him. "Does it change anything? Those guys are still coming to hurt your world and take Kari away. This is what you have to be prepared to do."

Killua joined him, hands stuffed on his pockets. "I told you before, killing your enemy is sometimes the only option. And these guys aren't going to stop, or them, or Arukenimon… nor Hisoka or the Mastermind."

The two boys gulped, remembering that those last two were humans. They lowered their gazes while their partners looked at them with worry.

Before they could speak again, a cold voice spoke to them, "Impressive, Child of Light, Anomaly, Digidestined. Your powers are something to beware of."

Everyone was on edge as the voice spoke. In front of them a form emerged from the floor, his body covered by a red cloak completely and leaving only its eyes visible in a manner that reminded them of Blademon.

"Who are you?!" Davis demanded as he stood up.

"That is of no importance right now," The figure told them with the same cold tone as his eyes zeroed on Kari, "Child of Light come with me right now."

"Well now we know you're just another Deadmon creep!" Killua snarled as his nails sharpened, all of the boys standing protectively in front of the girl.

"Do you think you have the strength to face me right now?" The figure asked. "SkullSatamon was an elite member of our species and from what I can tell only the Anomaly is in any condition to fight right now. But I recommend you to not engage us."

"Oh yeah, and why's that?!" Davis asked, flaring his Ren up, even though sweat was starting to pour from his forehead despite the cold weather.

The screech of tires was heard and they turned to see a truck coming their way. It screeched to a halt near the kids and from it the figure of Arukenimon came out. "Hello my dear kids, it's been a while~"

"Arukenimon!" Ken snarled, Sochi forming on his hands.

"Now hold on there, boy!" Arukenimon commanded as she opened the container of the truck. "You wouldn't want them to get hurt, right?"

Them being a group of kids that were all bound and gagged, some of them unconscious while others with bags under their eyes and puffy red eyes.

Kari's eyes shrank in recognition. "Those are the kids from the news!"

"You witch!" Nyaramon snarled.

"Poor children that in the panic of the invasion got separated from their parents…" Arukenimon said in mock pity as she grabbed one's head and gripped it tightly, making the poor girl give a muffle whimper, "Would be a shame if something happened to them."

"Stop!" Killua barked as he got ready to attack.

"You are in no position to make demands Anomaly," The woman said, gripping the child tightly.

"She is right," The Deadmon said, "Child of Light. Has this not been enough? Stop your stubborn refusal and come with us, or else these children will and who knows how many more innocent humans as we bring more and more of our kin here to get you."

Kari got frozen as she heard his words, feeling as a pit formed in her stomach and a pair of cold hands grabbed her heart. She looked at the girl who was on Arukenimon's clutches and felt her insides twist as the memories of the victims of SkullSatamon came to her.

She looked at her brother and friends. Like Arukenimon said they all looked tired sans Killua, who looked ready to use Godspeed to attack, but one movement and either Arukenimon or that Deadmon will kill those kids.

This was not a situation they could easily win. Maybe not right now but… they could do so later.

"Okay… I'll go."

"WHAT!?" Everyone around her yelped.

"Excellent," The Deadmon said as he floated and landed on top of the truck and Arukenimon released the girl. "Come then."

"Kari you can't be serious!" Tai said as he grabbed the girl by the shoulders.

"I am," She said, releasing Nyaramon and setting her on the floor.

"Kari…" Nyaramon looked at her with fear and worry. "You can't!"

"If I don't this kids will suffer…" She said as she swatted her brother away and moved away. "I have to do it."

"No! I refuse!" Tai said, moving forward to grab her again.

"Tai is right, after everything you'll just hand yourself over?!" Davis asked her in disbelief, for the first time and with good reason, not backing up her decisions.

Kari turned and looked at them with guilt, before her eyes settled in Killua who eyed her with the same worry, but also understanding. It seems he knows the situation and what has to be done for those kids to be safe, but he didn't like it. "Kari you…"

"Hurry up! Or heads will roll!" Arukenimon threatened as she glared at the kids inside the truck.

Kari moved past them and straight to Arukenimon who grabbed her arm and shoved her in the truck. The others torn between what they could do, if they tried to act the kids would suffer or they could be held back by this strange Deadmon who seemed to be as strong as their recent opponent.

"Sparky do something!" Davis barked at his leader with worried eyes, yet the boy stood there, "Killua!"

"Davis!" Ken hissed as he holds his friends back. "Don't…"

"But!" Davis hissed back as he glared at Ken and then back at Killua. Then he noticed.

Killua's balled fists… there was blood in them. His whole posture rigid and trembling as his nails dug deep into his skin. He was just as powerless as them.

"I'll be fi—" Kari didn't get to finish as the door closed and the truck got started up.

They couldn't do anything as it drove away, with the literal looming threat above the truck that could harm their hostages and friend. The boys and their Digimon had to swallow their frustration and think of something, think of a way to get Kari back.

As they got away from where the children were another figure landed on top of the truck. Daemon turned to glare at the newcomer. "You didn't deal with the Anomaly…"

Hisoka shrugged. "What can I say?" He asked as he raised his bandaged arms and legs. "I'm not in top condition."

Daemon raised a hand and a purple glow came from it. A flame was released that struck Hisoka's back.

Hisoka felt a searing pain for a moment before he felt it recede and the bandages vanished as if it was part of a magic art. His wounds inflicted yesterday and the strike he received from Killua healing in an instant.

"Now you don't have an excuse," Daemon growled out. "Serve the purpose our master brought you for or you'll never see your world again!"

Hisoka narrowed his eyes at him and in a venomous tone he responded, "Aye-Aye, sir."
