Seth swam in the ocean under the moonlight. He had never been in the ocean at night alone, and in truth it scared him a little, but it just felt like something he needed to do. The water was cool but not cold, and as long as he kept moving he was okay.
He had been swimming for only about five minutes when he saw the cigarette glowing on the shore, and the figure that was holding it. He had wondered if this would happen.
Anytime he felt compelled to go somewhere or do something it always ended with Ryan. Always Ryan. It was like every impulse or desire within him kept leading to this.
As Seth floated, Ryan watched him. From shore, he admired the way Seth's body glowed in the moonlight and the grace with which he moved through the water.
Finally Ryan put out his cigarette and undressed.
Seth didn't even jump when Ryan's arms materialized to cradle him from beneath. He felt held by the ocean, by the sky, by his love.
They swam together under the stars, where no one but the moon could see them. They kissed and touched as if the moment would last forever.
They left the water and laid together on the damp sand where ocean met land. They held each other tight, whispering and murmuring of love and fulfillment, wrapped in each other's arms.
