Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the story picks up where the last chapter left, as the hunt for Nejire commences…with some unanticipated implications…

Well then, read on and enjoy!

The scene shifts at the unidentified research facility where you can see several corpses of soldiers sprawled on the floor in a bloody mess while the scientists are scrambling on what to do next, aware of the current situation that has befallen them and feared that something unprecedented is about to happen and they can be heard contacting the guards available to respond immediately.

"The subject is on the loose! I repeat…the subject is on the loose!"

"If you find her…approach with extreme caution!"

"Summon all guards! This is a code red!"

"Prepare emergency evacuation!"

"The subject has escaped the facility!"

"Please respond! The subject must be contained at all costs!"

"This is not a drill!"

"The situation is critical!"

Outside the research facility, the scene shows that Nejire, still naked but wearing the helmet, is walking by the cliff near the seas, and there Kurama is seen at the windows giving instructions to a sharpshooter, telling him to shoot her on the back of the head, reasoning that she cannot be left unrestrained should she make it to the city.

"We only have one shot at this…"

"Understood, sir…"

"Please…we can't afford to make another mistake…!"

"Just leave it to me…"

"Just aim for the head…"

"I am aware…"

"Is the ammo ready?"

"Affirmative."

The sharpshooter said that he is using an anti-tank rifle and the bullet is enough to BLOW HER BRAINS OUT, and Kurama reluctantly told the sharpshooter to make it counts, as they only have one shot at this, and there won't be any second chances, which the sharpshooter nodded and using the shooting scope, he aimed the weapon at the back of the head of the escaping prisoner.

Upon opening fire the bullet was unleashed but the escapee turn around, where the bullet struck the left side of the escapee's head, shattering the helmet, which somewhat absorbed the shockwave, but it somewhat struck her on the left temple, busting her open and the impact knocked her towards the edge of the cliff, which caused the escapee to fall down onto the raging waters, and Kurama is dismayed that the shot wasn't fatal enough.

The scene shows that Nejire, now without a helmet, is featured with the appearance of her hair and full body features. It shows that she is a fair-skinned girl of average height with wide, curious eyes. Her upper eyelashes are long and thick, and her irises are a royal blue. Her hair is periwinkle, and it reaches all the way down to her knees, twisting around itself at her waist and curving inwards around her legs. She has side-swept bangs, tucked behind her ears on the right and hanging just over her eyes on the left, and two short clumps of hair on either side of her face, curved towards her face on the right and behind it, under her ear, on the left.

The sharpshooter apologized and Kurama said that it is okay and tells him to alert everyone else within the facility about the situation, which the sharpshooter nodded and there he and Kurama left and went separate ways to inform everyone within the facility of the current situation.

Kurama told the others of the current situation, which prompted the higher-ups to instruct the soldiers to head towards the site where the escapee is last seen, and told them to find her body no matter what it takes, which the soldiers nodded in acknowledgement.

"Yes sir!"

"Yes sir!"

"Yes sir!"

"Yes sir!"

"Yes sir!"

"Yes sir!"

"Yes sir!"

"Yes sir!"

Lilium by Kumiko Noma
(Opening song of Elfen Lied)

Os iusti meditabitur sapientam
Et lingua eius loquetur indicium

Beatus vir qui suffert tentationem
Quoniam cum probates fuerit accipient coronam vitae

Kyrie, ignis divine, eleison

O quam sancta
Quam serena
Quam benigma
Quam amoena
O castitatis lilium

Ah...

Kyrie, ignis divine, eleison

O quam sancta
Quam serena
Quam benigma
Quam amoena
O castitatis lilium

Ch. 2: Torēningu de hīrō o karu

Three years later…

The scene shifts at the same research facility where Kurama and several scientists are working on the clock in figuring out if the escapee actually died or survived, as it is revealed that Nejire's body was never recovered, and that there are no sightings of her at any part of the mainland, and the scientists are worried of the implications it would have, which Kurama agreed.

He is still haunted by the memory of Kisaragi dying in front of him after she accidentally stumbled into the scene where Nejire was fighting off the soldiers during her escape, and there his fellow scientists consoled him, saying that while Kisaragi can be a klutz at times, she is an important part of the facility and said that someone like her can't be replaced easily.

"So sorry for your loss, sir…"

"My condolences…"

"Kisaragi is a good person…"

"She really is…"

"Sir…you should move on…"

"He's right…"

"I'm sure there would be a good replacement for her…"

"That's right…"

Kurama nodded and left where he went to the main office room of the research facility, where the director, identified only as Chief Kakuzawa, is sitting on his seat, awaiting report from Kurama rather patiently, though his facial expressions said otherwise, which Kurama mentally expressed dismay at seeing his smug appearance.

There Kakuzawa asked Kurama how are things going, which the latter admitted that finding Nejire is difficult given that her body remained missing and that there are no sightings of her, which Kakuzawa snickered unabashedly, saying that one simple girl has caused him a ton of problems though Kurama reminded Kakuzawa that containing Nejire is no easy feat.

"What was that, Kurama…?"

"You heard me, Chief…"

"Hmm…?"

"Containing Nejire is not as simple as you think…"

"For me it is."

"…"

"You should know better than that, Kurama."

"Coming from you…"

Unmoved by Kurama's criticism, Kakuzawa reminded him of what is at stake here, which the former nodded and said that he would do everything he could in finding Nejire, and Kakuzawa said that Kurama should, as THE FATE OF THE WORLD rests within the hands of the facility, and even reminded Kurama of what happened to Kisaragi three years ago, much to Kurama's irritation in seeing that Kakuzawa is rubbing salt on his mental wounds.

"You know what's at stake, correct…?"

"…yes…"

"And remember what happened to Kisaragi…? Does that reminded you of something…?"

"…"

"If you don't want to be reminded of that…do your job."

"…sir…"

"I can't hear you…"

"…yes, sir…"

Suddenly, one of Kurama's subordinates came and entered the office, panting heavily and told them about Nejire, which Kurama became concerned while Kakuzawa is unmoved, and as Kurama asked what about Nejire, the subordinate said that he saw her on TV, which Kakuzawa arrogantly said that the problem is solved and all they need is capture her with everything in their disposal.

The subordinate, however, said that capturing Nejire is now more difficult than before, which Kakuzawa berated him for being spineless and brought out a gun, threatening to shoot him if the subordinate refuses to obey, but the subordinate insisted that capturing Nejire would be more difficult than before, which Kurama intervene to ease the tension and asked the subordinate on why recapturing Nejire is a difficult task now.

"What is the problem?"

"Its about Nejire..."

"If you found her location…then we will…"

"Like I said…recapturing her won't be easy this time…"

"Why is that?"

"Because she's on the news…"

"What?"

"See for yourself…"

The subordinate turns on the TV monitor where a news report is shown where you can see that a live police operation where the hideout of the Shie Hassakai gang has been raided, where several policemen and pro heroes are seen, and there Kurama stared wide-eyed at seeing something familiar.

Following Overhaul's defeat, the Heroes and the Police finish the sweep of the headquarters and arrest all eleven members of the Shie Hassaikai. The villains are transported to a Villain hospital. UA Academy student Eijiro Kirishima, victim Eri, and pro hero Sir Nighteye are brought to a hospital as well. Before he's carried away, Sir Nighteye is seen telling a hero student something which the camera failed to record the conversation.

As the police restrain and haul the villains away inside police vans, the scene shows that Nejire is amongst the hero students assisting and is being instructed by the pro hero Ryukyu, and there Nejire is seen leaving as she began to assist the police in doing some search and rescue operations.

The incident resulted in four destroyed homes and three injured civilians. All Heroes who received injuries are admitted into the hospital. Nejire and the others remain behind to clean up the incident and aid the injured.

Kurama stared wide-eyed at seeing this, as he couldn't believe that Nejire has survived and now resurfaces, and there the subordinate told him that after seeing the live news he contacted a contact of his, where he learned that the teenagers in costumes are hero students from UA Academy, and apparently Nejire is studying as a student there.

"What did you say…?"

"You heard me!"

"Nejire…?"

"Apparently she is enrolled at UA Academy..."

"Are you serious…?"

"Yes…and what's more…she now works for Ryukyu…the Dragoon Hero..."

"That's impossible…"

"But it's true!"

Kakuzawa listened to the conversation and watched the live news, where he began to laugh rather diabolically and said that it doesn't matter if Nejire is studying at UA Academy, as what matters now is that their target is found, and this would make things easier for them to recapture her and tells Kurama to make preparations to commence in recapturing Nejire.

However, the subordinate tells Kakuzawa that Nejire is working for Ryukyu, and if the facility attempted to capture Nejire so brazenly it would cause a conflict with UA Academy and even the Hero Public Safety Commission, which might result in an unwanted investigation, which Kurama agreed and suggested that they take things slowly and make an elaborate plan in recapturing Nejire without attracting attention or suspicions.

"We should make a careful approach and not act rashly…"

"Mr. Kurama is right…we can't just…"

"Are you two hesitating…?"

"With a reason, chief."

"That's right!"

"You two are acting spineless…"

"Things are different now and we cannot act carelessly…"

"Yes…getting into the face of those pro heroes would cause problems for us…"

"Damn you two…"

Kakuzawa menacingly glared at the two, saying that he doesn't care what UA Academy would do, but nevertheless he seemingly agreed to Kurama's suggestion and decided to play their hands and not rush things, but he gives Kurama an ultimatum to recapture Nejire, saying that a lot is at stake and they cannot afford to slack or squander the opportunity, which Kurama reluctantly nodded.

"Alright…but you better get this solved…quickly."

"Yes, chief…"

"Remember what's at stake here…"

"Yes, chief…"

"And we cannot afford to waste time…"

"Yes, chief…"

"Understood…?"

"Yes, chief…"

Hope you liked this chapter, as the opening scene mirrors the events of what occurred at the end of last chapter, but then an original continuation took place, where Nejire is revealed to be a student at UA Academy and works under Ryukyu.

This in turn mirrors the aftermath of the Shie Hassakai raid arc, where a few pro heroes and UA students appeared, though mostly in non-vocal cameo, but they would have more roles in the upcoming chapters.

While Midoriya and other My Hero Academia characters haven't appeared yet, they would be featured in the upcoming chapters.

The next chapter shifts to UA Academy, where Nejire takes the spotlight while Midoriya makes his anticipated appearance…
