After Shane and Andy's brief confrontation, Shane confronted Karen and they got into an argument. They were in the hallway.
"Shane wait! Listen! If you have a problem with him, you can talk to me and then I'll talk to him, ok? You're not his dad and..." Karen tried to explain while holding his arm.
He yanked his arm back and said, "Yeah, I get it! But the boy was being rude so I needed to get things straight! All I did was talk to him and call him out on it!" he admitted.
"I think that's a little bit too much!" Karen folded her arms.
"You know what! I'm done! Screw this! Sounds like a "you" problem!" Shane turned around and walked away.
"Shane!" she called for him with a sad look on her face.
Detective Mike just happened to be in the hallway at the same time as them and overheard their conversation. He looked at Karen and gave her a "what's up!" head gesture.
But Karen didn't want to speak to him right now. Her heart had just been broken. She needed time to heal. When she made eye contact with the Detective, she made a weak smile and went back into her apartment.
