Midoriya still had a sour taste in his mouth from the lunch with Uraraka and Iida. It felt like Iida was really hurt by what he had said. Even if he was right, he hated to see anyone in pain, emotionally or physically. This wasn't the time to worry about it. He was going to get his internship soon. He had to put a good show on–for everyone. He laced his bright red shoes, then stretched. Pulling a marker from his bag, he quickly wrote some of the names of his powers down on his left hand.

"Midoriya." Bakugo's red eyes blended in with the scars on his face. His left arm was still burnt badly, covered by bandages. "Heard about your fight with Robo-McGlasses." He cracked a smirk. The way that he clenched his teeth might it look as if it hurt. "Nice to see that you're moving on from our rivalry."
"It's not really a rivalry if you know that you're going to win, right?" Deku's eyes trailed from Kacchan's face to his own red shoes. "All-Might said that I should find my own path, find my own way, but everyone keeps trying to measure up with my strength. I mean–" He snapped his fingers, watching as Kacchan's scars disappeared.

Bakugo's eyes widened. "HOW DID YOU—" He pulled the bandages off of his arm, seeing that it became good as new.

"I call it Skin Memory–I developed it last week after getting a rash. My Plot Armor reacts by creating a Quirk that can manipulate skin cells, even reversing them back to normal. Its only drawback is that its range is only a few feet around me." He placed his hand over his eyes, sighing. "I've almost twenty different abilities in the past week… Not to mention that their combinations are insane! I don't know how I'm supposed to lose! It's not fair to have power like this."

"Can you even hear yourself right now?-" Bakugo slammed his fist into the nearest wall. "You were Quirkless most of your life and now you're complaining about the power you have?! EVEN WITH WHAT I HAD I WANTED TO BE STRONGER! DON'T SAY THAT YOU'RE AT YOUR LIMIT!" He moved his hand away from the wall, pressing his index finger against Deku's chest. "YOU TOLD ME THAT BEING A HERO IS ABOUT SAVING OTHERS! LIKE ALL-MIGHT! DON'T TELL ME THAT LIFE'S NOT FAIR WHEN YOU HAVE THE GIFT TO SAVE SO MANY PEOPLE!"

"WELCOME TO THE SPORTS FESTIVAL–" Present Mic's voice boomed from his position up in the stands. "THIS IS GONNA BE A GOOD ONE, FOLKS! OUR FIRST EVENT WILL BE THE OBSTACLE RACE! THE RACE ITSELF WILL BE TWO AND A HALF MILES LONG, MAKING IT FOUR KILOMETERS! THE FIRST FORTY-TWO STUDENTS TO PASS THE FINISH LINE WILL MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ROUND! LINE UP, EVERYBODY!"

The echoing voice of the pro hero—well, echoed in his head. Bakugo and Iida were right. He couldn't just mope. He had to put his all into things, to be a good hero–not just for his benefit, but for the benefit of others. Putting a smile on his face, as forced as it might have been, he walked out into the field, lining up with his classmates.

"Yo, Bro-doriya! You excited?" Kirishima's surfer voice made Izuku's fake smile real. "I can't wait to get a good internship! Have you thought of who you want to intern with yet?"

"Not really… Maybe I could find a hero out of Japan, and travel away… A week in America would be nice."

"Yo, American chicks are sweet! Have you heard about that Taylor—"

"THE RACE IS ABOUT TO BEGIN IN THREEEEEEEE—"

Midoriya's eyes widened as people began to scramble in a panic towards what looked like the main arch into the course. "HOLY WOAH!"

"TWOOOO!-"

Midoriya took a breath. "Calm down…" He looked at his left hand, reading the first words. "Use Angel Wings!"

"ONE!"

Immediately, Midoriya leaped into the air, flying at speeds far beyond anyone that his students could muster. He soared directly above the archway, watching as his classmates and many other students from UA crowded their way through. Todoroki made his way through first, freezing much of the grass. Thankfully, Izuku was several meters in the air, avoiding much of the chaos. The wind felt amazing in his hair as he hung in the sky, moving far past his classmates. He smiled as he saw Iida with a group of students, struggling with a massive robot. Summoning a fraction of his strength, he turned one of his arms into an All-Might limb and threw a punch, sending an enormous shockwave to destroy the machine. The robot shattered into a million pieces, the sheer energy from the wind knocking a fourth of the students running in the race.

"You're welcome!" Izuku screamed at the top of his lungs before zooming ahead of the students. He stretched before summoning a second pair of wings, doubling in speed for no reason at all. The next parts of the course were a blur as he quickly reached the speed of sound. Landing in the back of the stadium, his skin hummed. He had finished the race in almost thirty seconds. The wings folded back into his back before disappearing. He had won!
