Ballard leapt at Boyd and they continued to fight with Boyd winning by a landslide before Jason tackled the both of them. They all fell into one of the still lit up pods, shattering it. The pod they had broken into was Victor's and he screamed out in distress at being suddenly awoken with people piled on top of him.
"Echo, run! Take Oscar with you." Boyd called out to Echo, noticing her holding Oscar's hand tightly.
Echo quickly ran away, dragging Oscar alongside her as they tried to get away from Ballard chasing after them. Jason stayed behind for a few moments to keep Boyd busy before leaving to catch up with them, Boyd following right behind him. Ballard quickly caught up to them and began leading the two of them towards the staircase. Echo refused to release Oscar's hand, wanting to protect her friend from the unknown man that wouldn't release them.
"We're supposed to go swimming." Echo told the man.
"Caroline, you don't have to do what they tell you. I know you're scared, both of you… but it's okay." Ballard said as he led them up the staircase.
Echo flashed back to the fight they had had a while back and she struggled to get out of his grasp, "Let us go!"
Jason and Boyd caught up to them.
Boyd aimed his gun at Ballard, "You heard the lady."
Echo stared at Boyd holding a gun and Jason glancing between his brother, Ballard, and the gun Boyd was pointing at them. She then glanced worriedly at the whimpering Oscar, noticing the panic and confusion on Oscar's face. Echo quickly made her decision and pushed Ballard off the staircase, the man going over the stair railing from her shove. Ballard landed on the table below with a pained grunt before he threw a broken piece of the table at Boyd.
Echo quickly turned to Oscar, "Are you okay?"
Oscar nodded silently before cuddling up close to her, wanting to be comforted due to all the violence they were currently witnessing. Boyd and Ballard continued to fight while Jason quickly ushered the two dolls to come down the stairs, prioritizing their safety over his desire to free his brother from the Dollhouse. Echo slowly led Oscar downstairs and joined Jason at the foot of the stairs.
"Think they'll just let her go? Let her live outside?" Boyd questioned as he puts Ballard into a choke-hold.
"She's not… living now." Ballard said, struggling.
"Even if you got her out alive, they'd hunt you down and kill you both." Boyd said.
Ballard finally managed to get out of Boyd's grasp and tried to reach the gun that had fallen in their struggle. When Boyd tried to stop him, Ballard quickly punched him and he fell onto his back in a daze. Echo had a flashback to Boyd attempting to help save her as well as her helping him when he had been shot through with an arrow.
"Echo, run. Take Oscar and run! Run!" Boyd yelled.
Echo grabbed both Oscar and Jason's hands and began to run away, dragging the both of them alongside her. Ballard quickly tried to catch them as they ran up the stair with Boyd running to try and stop him. Boyd quickly pushed Ballard after he grabbed Echo's arm, knocking all of them down. Echo, Oscar, and Jason all tumbled down the stairs. Jason attempted to shield both Echo and Oscar from the brunt of the fall. Jason groaned as the two dolls lay on top of him, dazed but unharmed.
"Thank you." Echo whispered.
"No problem. Didn't want either of you to get hurt." Jason groaned out.
Echo quickly made her way to the other side of the staircase as Jason sat up to check Oscar over for any injuries he may have gotten from the fall. Ballard and Boyd continued to fight on the staircase with Ballard gaining the upper hand this time around. As Boyd lay dazed on the stairs with Ballard preparing to hit him while he was down, Echo reached out and tripped him. Ballard grunted as he tumbled down the stairs and Boyd swiftly stumbled up from where he had been laying down. He quickly made his way to Ballard and began to handcuff him. Jason helped his brother up and made his way to stand beside Echo, who had been walking back towards them.
"Thank you, for protecting the two of them when they were falling." Boyd told Jason before turning to the two dolls, "Stay here with Jason. Wait for me. I'll come back to get you.
"I trust you." Echo told him with a trembling lip.
Dr. Saunders wandered by the sleeping pod rooms and quickly noticed Victor sitting beside his broken pod. She rushed into the room and to his side, worried when she saw that he was injured.
"Victor, what happened?" She asked as she turned his face to look at her, examining the cuts on his face.
"People were fighting on me." Victor replied, relieved that Dr. Saunders had found him and would make sure he was okay.
She quickly helped him up and began to lead him to her office. She was just happy that his injuries only seemed to be minor ones. She wanted to know why unknown people would be inside the Dollhouse, but she was sure that the staff would quickly deal with the intruders.
"Alright, we'll have you fixed up in…" She calmly started to tell Victor before gasping as she suddenly spotted a terrifyingly familiar face lying in wait for them.
Kepler quickly stalked towards Victor and slashed up his face with practiced ease. Victor reached up to his cut face before falling down in a faint.
Dr. Saunders tried to steady her breathing as she was on the verge of a panic attack, "Alpha."
She gasped in fear as Kepler, now revealed to truly be Alpha, grabbed her face and pushed her back against the table.
"Ah…" He sighed as he held her head and examined her scars, "Well, you kept my gift.
