53. Chapter 53: All truths revealed

Chapter 53.

All truths revealed.

Unknown place.

- "Toya Todoroki... listen to my voice and wake up!"- A pair of blue eyes widen upon hearing those words.

Dabi looks around, he is not in any place he has seen before, however, something about this place feels familiar, it was a place surrounded by what seemed to be digital data. Columns and rows of data floated around Dabi. – "Now where am I?"- He thought.

Suddenly, in front of it, a black Egyptian sphinx Digimon appears, AncientSphinxmon. - "I can finally talk to you. I have been waiting for this for a long time."- AncientSphinxmon said.

- "Who the f*ck are you? Are you another one of those evil Digimon? Are you going to force me to fight again?"- Dabi asked.

- "Don't worry, I'm not some evil digimon, I guess by this point you're already familiar with the ten legendary warriors."- AncientSphinxmon said, and Dabi nodded. – "So let me introduce myself, I am AncientSphinxmon, the legendary warrior of darkness."-

- "Legendary warrior... what do you want?"- Dabi asked.

- "So much time without remembering your past and being manipulated by those who caused your suffering... I understand that you mistrust me, but let me help you, Toya Todoroki."- AncientSphinxmon said.

- "That name again... whenever I hear it there's something in my head that wants to come out... do you know about that?"- Dabi said.

- "Indeed, I know all about it, that name that is so familiar to you, that is you... you are Toya Todoroki."- AncientSphinxmon said.

- "I... that can't be... how is it possible?"- Dabi asked.

- "I can help you remember, but you have to trust me."- In front of Dabi, a person appears, that person is exactly the same as him, except for one thing, that person does not have the scars that he bears on his body. – "What you see here is a fragment of your mind, your memories that have been left behind since your accident or rather, that were forced to stay behind."-

- "My memories... how can I get them back?"- Dabi asked.

- "Join the missing memory fragment, become whole again, however, you will see again everything you went through before becoming Dabi."- AncientSphinxmon said.

Dabi stares at the memory fragment with doubt, is this Digimon telling the truth? Or is he just tricking him into fighting on his side now? Meditating for a few seconds, Dabi makes a decision and touches the fragment of memory, it begins to join him and Dabi begins to remember.

- "What?! I'm getting old!"- Little Toya said.

- "I would never do that!"- Toya said. – "We can leave that for later! First show me that secret technique!"- Toya lights his right arm in blue flames. – "Auch!"- Toya feels a small pain which makes him put out the fire and to his surprise the fire caused a slight burn on his arm.

A few days later.

- "What's the matter?! I've waited days to train with you!"- Toya said to his father. – "Why do you say I can't do it?"-

- "I told you already."- Endeavor said. – "I do this for your own good, remember the doctor's words."-

Toya remembers what the doctor said a few days ago, after he received a burn from his own quirk. – "Although his son inherited his father's quirk, his body is made to withstand an ice quirk, if he continues to use his quirk it may cause irreversible damage to himself."-

Toya watches as her father leaves the house. – "I don't care... I'm going to master this quirk and become the best hero, just like my dad!"- Toya said to no one in particular.

A few years later.

Toya's second brother was born, Natsuo, however, like his sister Fuyumi, he did not have a powerful quirk.

Meanwhile Toya secretly trains to control his quirk, without making significant progress, at the same time his hair is becoming whiter than red. – "I don't care how long it takes... I'll be a hero like my dad..."- Toya repeated those words to give himself confidence.

More years later.

Toya's fourth sibling, Shoto, was born a long time ago and apparently his father pays special attention to him, even so Toya is still determined to control his quirk.

- "I can do it! Let me show you!"- Toya said to his father.

- "Toya! Please stop!"- Endeavor said. – "Can't you see you're only hurting yourself?!"-

- "I... I just want to be a hero like you..."- Toya says as tears appear in his eyes.

Even more years later.

Toya, now thirteen years old, is in his room while he watches something on his computer.

In that, two of his sibling, Fuyumi and Natsuo, enter his room with a ball in their hands. – "Toya! Let's play!"-

- "I'm sorry... I have things to do somewhere else."- Toya said with a fake smile on his face. – "Maybe another day?"-

Night.

At night, on Mount Sekotei, Toya is training with his Quirk, and it seems that he has managed to control it. – "I made it! Apparently my flames are linked to my emotions, if I stay calm I can control them."- He said. – "I'm awesome!"-

However, due to that overflow of emotions, his fire began to come out in large quantities from his body, this time completely out of control, being impossible to put out the flames and burning everything around him. – "Nope! Stop coming out!"- Toya tries, unsuccessfully, to stop his fire, the amount is so great that it causes a gigantic fire in the mountain, Toya trapped in the flames, burning his body little by little.

- "Please…"- Toya pleads in his mind, his vocal cords burned, he can no longer speak. – "Someone... please... I don't want to die... I still need to become a hero…please help me..."-

Suddenly, as if his pleas were heard, something appears in front of him, a strange black and gray device, following his instinct as if something were calling him Toya extends his arm to try to take the device, however from the fire a figure appears and takes the device.

- "At last I find you... chosen of darkness."- The person says. – "I'll take this and you... I need you alive for my plans."- It was the last thing Toya saw as the flames consumed him completely.

A few months later.

- "Lord Lucemon are you sure about this? I mean, it's already done, but I'd like to know your reasons for doing it."- One guy asks another who is slightly taller, this is Lucemon, when he still controlled All for One's body.

- "It is necessary, I need him alive to keep the D-Scan of darkness active, if the true chosen one dies, then the D-Scan will disappear until another one is found."- Lucemon said.

- "I see... in this case his body is already rebuilt, I'll keep him in an induced coma until you finish with your plan."- The other guy said. - "Even so... if he were to escape, I have no doubt that he would try to do something..."-

- "In this case let's make sure he doesn't remember anything."- Lucemon said as he placed his hand on Toya's head. – "I will seal their memories in the dark ocean, next to where I have trapped AncientSphinxmon."- Lucemon seals Toya's memories, making him forget everything and unintentionally turning him into Dabi.

Dabi opens his eyes, breathes heavily, tears want to come out of his eyes, but they can't his tear ducts are burned, his memories are finally back, he knows who he is... he is Toya Todoroki.

- "I see you're done. I guess it wasn't a nice thing to remember."- AncientSphinxmon said.

- "No, it wasn't nice... but I needed it, I finally have my mind at peace."- Toya said. – "Thank you."-

- "Chosen one... me?"- Toya asked. – "How is that possible? I don't remember seeing you before."-

- "Why do you think a D-Scan appeared at that time? If you had managed to take it we would have met, but Lucemon went ahead and stole the D-Scan before we could."- AncientSphinxmon said.

- "But... why me?"- Toya asked. – "I was a failure all my life... I became a villain!"-

- "Being a villain wasn't your choice."- AncientSphinxmon said. – "Also... you never gave up, you wanted to fulfill your dream, impress your father, that's why I chose you."-

- "I… I don't know what to say."- Toya said.

- "Don't say anything."- AncientSphinxmon said. – "However, there are many things you can do."-

- "Are you referring to..."- Toya said.

- "The other chosen ones need your help... the question is... are you willing to help?"-

Without thinking twice, Toya makes a decision. - "Yes!"-

AncientSphinxmon smiles. – "In that case here, I give you what is yours, the beast and human spirits of darkness, this time without corruption, as well as the ability to use the fusion spirit."- The D-Scan of darkness appears in front of Toya.

- "Shouldn't I unlock them? Also, I must be mentally ready for the fusion spirit... right?"- Toya asked.

- "Normally yes, but remember that you had a Digimon in your mind, so you are already prepared for the mental charge of the fusion spirit, as for the other two, Lucemon did us the favor of unlocking them, the only good thing he did when he stole the D-scan."- AncientSphinxmon said.

- "I see… In that case I'm ready!"- Toya said while taking the D-Scan.

- "One last thing... I'm going to heal your body; we don't want you to be confused with Dabi."- AncientSphinxmon's eyes glow and Toya's body heals from all of its injuries. – "Good luck, Toya."-

Toya wakes up abruptly and looks around, he is in a cave with the entrance covered with ice, in that he processes everything that has just happened, he looks at his body and can see that he is completely healed, Toya smiles. – "It was all real..."- Toya looks at his belt, much to his annoyance he's still wearing his clothes from when he was Dabi (but he'll think about that later), and he can see the D-Scan in the belt, his D-Scan, taking it, Toya stands up. – "Don't worry, Shoto and his friends, I'm coming to your aid."- Toya extends his hand upwards and several data wheels surround it. – "Execute!"- Toya lowers his hand and his D-Scan makes contact with the data. – "Fusion Evolution!"- The data surrounds Toya.

Inside the data.

Toya lets out a roar as dark energy begins to surround him.

Both spirits, the human and the beast appear at his sides.

They both begin to pass in front of him multiple times as each hands him a respective piece of armor.

After passing several times, both spirits merge into one and Toya lets out one last roar before finishing his transformation.

Front line.

Everyone, humans and Digimon, are motionless looking at Lucemon, the humans due to the strong pressure that Lucemon emanates, while the Digimon are still watching their leader who has finally returned with his strength restored, meanwhile, the chosen five are immobilized by Lucemon's black whips.

- "Interesting... Black Whip, Hover, Smoke Screen, Danger Sensor, Fa Gin and GearShift... all this was the accumulated..."- Lucemon said as he analyzed the quirks he received when he regained his power. – "All but Float can be very useful."-

- "Shigaraki!"- Endeavor draws Lucemon's attention. – "I don't care how many times you change your appearance; you will be defeated!"-

- "Don't you dare address Lord Lucemon with such words, human!"- Machindramon said preparing to continue fighting but...

- "Machinedramon..."- Lucemon said and at that moment Machinedramon stops. – "I can defend myself."-

- "Yes, Lord Lucemon."- Machinedramon said.

- "What the hell is happening?"- Endeavor thought, similar thoughts run through the minds of the other heroes. – "What are you playing? Shigaraki!"-

Lucemon laughs - "That's your mistake, you're talking to the wrong person, I'm not Shigaraki, I'm Lucemon! The leader of the Seven Great Demon Lords! And soon I will be the most powerful Digimon of all!"-

- "Demon Lords? Digimon? What the f*ck are you talking about?"- Endeavor asked.

- "Oh wow... so you don't know..."- Lucemon turns to see the chosen ones. – "What lies have you been telling, chosen ones?"-

- "Lies?"- Endeavor asked.

- "Allow me to illustrate what you are about to hear will change your life."- Lucemon said. – "Me and all my allies, with the exception of the members of the league of villains, we are creatures called Digimon, we are creatures made of data, but we are alive, like you." –

- "What the hell?! Aren't these creatures supposed to be beings created with a quirk?"- A hero asked.

- "That is your mistake. Your entire society revolves around those quirks that can't see the obvious!"- Lucemon said. – "When you should be thanking me! It's thanks to me that you have those quirks!"-

- "What are you talking about?!"-

- "S-Stop!"- Izuku said, however, that only makes Lucemon smile more.

- "Let me tell you the origin of your quirks, since it is very different from what you think."- Lucemon said. – "You better get comfortable; it'll be a long story."-

- "Do you think we have time for stories?!"- Suddenly, Mt. Lady becomes a giant and tries to attack Lucemon. – "We have better things to do than waste our time chatting with a villain!"-

- "Mt. Lady stop!"- Endeavor yelled.

These orders fell on deaf ears and Mt. Lady tries to attack Lucemon, but Lucemon extends his palm and fires a beam at the heroine's chest, piercing her, Mt. Lady returns to her normal size and falls to the ground, dead.

All the heroes are stunned at Lucemon's ease in killing a hero.

The five chosen ones feel the fury rise through their blood; they could not do anything to avoid it. – "Bastard! You will pay for that!"-

- "Take that as a demonstration of what can happen if I'm interrupted, now... let me tell you, the story of the origins of the quirks."- Lucemon said. – "As I already told you, Digimon are creatures made of data, we live in a type of world adjacent to yours, I found a way to come to this world a long time ago and my plan was to destroy it... however, there were some Digimon, who could be considered a class of heroes... the ten legendary warriors, those bastards had the guts to face me, unfortunately they defeated me even though I managed to kill five of them and the remaining warriors used their powers to make the humans forget the Digimon existed and repair any damage done."-

- "And what does that have to do with quirks?"- A hero said, but is quickly killed by Lucemon's beam.

- "As I was saying, when the warriors used their powers, they inadvertently left some data in this world, they wandered for a while until a human absorbed them, however he couldn't activate them, but when he spawned his offspring, that child did. I managed to activate the data and to everyone's surprise... that child began to shine."- Lucemon said, this took everyone off guard, since they know what he meant. – "Doesn't that sound familiar to you?"-

- "The first quirk…"-

- "That's impossible!"-

- "You're lying!"- Endeavor said, in that he turns to see the chosen ones. – "And besides, what do those five have to do with all this?"-

- "These five have been lying to you."- Lucemon said. – "I don't know what lies they have told you, but this power they have is not a quirk."-

- "What are you taking about? They evolved their quirks!"- Endeavor said.

- "Quirks!? Do not make me laugh! These two..."- Lucemon said as she put Izuku and Melissa in front of the heroes. – "These two didn't even have a damn quirk! They were scum! They were quirkless!"- Lucemon puts Izuku and Melissa back with the other Chosen, still immobile from the black whip and Lucemon's pressure. – "These received the powers of the legendary warriors to try to fight me... and you can see how well they have done."-

- "You lie!"- Endeavor said.

- "Oh yeah? Why don't you ask them?!"- Lucemon brings Izuku closer to him with the black whip and makes him face everyone. – "Very well, chosen of fire, tell them! Tell them I'm lying! Have the courage to tell them I'm lying!"-

Izuku remains silent, unable to see everyone, unable to lie to them, clenching his fists he has no choice but to tell the truth. - "Everything he has said... is true."-

Hearing these words, all the heroes feel like their world is falling, all this time they have been living a lie?

- "How curious... it is thanks to me that you managed to obtain your powers, you should kneel before me and accept that thanks to an evil being you have your powers!"- Lucemon said, further lowering the morale of the heroes. – "Everything you believe has been thanks to evil!"-

- "So their powers aren't quirks..."- Ojiro said.

- "That's what that Lucemon guy said."- Shoji said.

- "Did they lie to us?"- Ojiro said.

- "Apparently yes..."- Shoji said. – "Apparently they didn't trust us..."-

Mina, who is looking in the direction where this happened, frowns upon hearing those words. – "They would never lie to us like that!"- She said. – "There must be an explanation!"-

Meanwhile Bakugou is just watching Izuku, clenching his fists as he watches.

For the rest of the front lines the uncertainty increased, Lucemon smiles more and more to see how the heroes lose confidence in themselves.

We heroes will beat them all!"- Endeavor's speech manages to restore confidence to the heroes, who, thanks to Endeavor's words, stop being immobile. Endeavor for his part gathers fire in his right fist. – "Get ready, Lucemon, Shigaraki, whatever you want to call yourself! We will finish what those legendary warriors started! We will defeat you!"-

Endeavor charges at Lucemon and manages to land a punch surrounded by fire, creating an explosion and without Lucemon doing anything to prevent it.

The smoke created by the exposure dissipates and an uninjured Lucemon can be seen grabbing Endeavor's arm, quickly using the black whip to immobilize Endeavor. – "You're brave... that's why I'll use you as an example of what happens if I'm challenged!"- Lucemon creates a sword in her left hand and uses the black whips to pull Endeavor closer. – "I will remember you for your bravery... now die!"- Lucemon is about to kill Endeavor but suddenly an attack hits his back, being distracted the attack manages to unbalance him and therefore deactivate the black whip, freeing Endeavor, and the chosen ones.

Lucemon turns to see who attacked him and is surprised to see who it is. – "You…"-

The chosen ones also turn to see who attacked and are surprised to see someone in the sky. – "Who is that?" – Kaminari asked.

- "Is that a hero?"- Melissa asked.

- "I don't think so, I don't recognize it."- Izuku said. – "But... I feel something familiar about him."-

- "Well, well, well... look who decided to show up... nothing more and nothing less than the descendant of the warrior of darkness, Rihimon!"- Lucemon said.

- "Who?!"- All the chosen ones wonder.

In the sky is a humanoid Digimon, it wears a black lion mask, in addition to obsidian-colored armor, it has a pair of golden wings, the same as AncientSphinxmon's, in addition to carrying a spear called Executor of Darkness, that Digimon is Rihimon.

- "I've got back what you stole from me!"- Rihimon said. - "After everything you put me through, all the suffering of being lost in life... I am Toya Todoroki! And I am the one chosen by the legendary warrior of darkness!"-

Hearing these words some people are surprised, especially two, Shoto and Endeavor, who can't believe what they heard. – "Toya… Did you..."- Shoto said.

- "Did he say... Toya... but that's impossible... he's dead..."- Endeavor said.

- "Would you look at that... I see that AncientSphinxmon recovered earlier than expected... well it doesn't matter; you won't make a difference!"- Lucemon said.

- "And how about six?!"- Izuku said as he and the rest of the chosen ones stand next to Toya.

- "Brother! Is it really you?!"- Shoto asked.

- "Yes, and now we will fight together instead of against each other."- Toya said.

- "Then you are also a chosen one..."- Shoto said. – "But how…"-

- "I'll explain everything later, first we have to defeat this guy."- Toya said.

- "So you want to face me... Do you really think you can beat me?"- Lucemon said.

- "It is our duty to defeat you!"- Izuku said.

- "Alright... I'll grant your wish..."- Lucemon said while preparing to fight.

- "Wait! If we're going to fight... let it be somewhere else, where we can fight without holding back and not hurt anyone."- Izuku said.

Lucemon raises an eyebrow. – "That means there won't be anyone to interrupt the fight to help them either..."- Lucemon smiles. – "Alright, lead the way."-

Izuku turns to see his companions and the five nod, but before they can leave... – "Agni!"- Endeavor draws his attention. – "What are you doing?!"-

- "I know it's not a good time, but I need you to trust us... we're the only ones who can take this guy down."- Izuku said. – "So please... trust me, I promise to explain everything when this is over."-

Endeavor is silent for a few seconds. – "Very well... but you better defeat that guy!"-

Izuku nods. – "Please... follow us."- Izuku said to Lucemon before flying away, the other Chosen Ones follow him.

- "Machinedramon, continues with the attack, that nobody dares to interrupt with our fight."- Lucemon orders and flies away following Izuku.

- "You heard Lord Lucemon! Digimon, continue the attack!"- Machinedramon orders.

Endeavor relights his fire. - "Heroes! We have to keep fighting; we have to beat these guys!"-

- "Show me what you're capable of, number one!"- Machinedramon said.

- "I will show you what we humans are capable of!"- Endeavor said.

The battle on the front-line resumes.

Somewhere else.

Izuku arrives at the place, the place is a clear field surrounded by several trees, there are several giant rocks and a lake at one end of the place. – "We'll be fine here..."-

The rest of the chosen ones land next to him and shortly after Lucemon in front of everyone. – "Have you finished choosing your graves yet?"- Lucemon said.

- "This place is wide enough to fight and far enough away from all the battle sites so that no one gets hurt."- Izuku said.

- "Very well..."- Lucemon gets into a fighting stance. – "I'm going to finish what I started all those years ago!"-

- "You're wrong! We will fulfill what the legendary warriors commissioned us! We will defeat you!"- Izuku said as he and the rest of the chosen ones also got into fighting stances.

The war has reached its climax and the most important battle of this is about to begin.

One last thing, if you wonder why so few reactions to the revealed truth... well remember that not everyone was in that place during the revelation, even so when the war ends all this will become public knowledge, so later we will see the reaction of those who were missing in this chapter.
