"Alright, time for the first day," I said.

"We start homeroom with 1-A before going to the support classes. We were told to join them today," Melissa said.

"Let's go," I said, grabbing her hand as we walked through the halls.

"You think they're compensating for something?" she asked, looking at the large door.

"Haha," I deadpanned. I opened the door and felt as if my whole body stiffened from the return of my bad luck.

"Take your feet off the desk this instant," the tall blue boy demanded.

"Shut up four eyes," Bakugou growled. "Who do you think you are?"

"I'm Tenya Ilda from Somie Middle," he said.

"An elitist huh? I'll enjoy destroying you," he said, looking over as his smirk fell.

"You two, I must apologize for my actions to you on the day of the test. You could see the true meaning of the test while I just saw the shown part," he said.

"A-actually I just did what anyone would've done," I admitted.

"I'm-"

"We heard you, I'm Melissa Shield," she said.

"I'm Izumi Sogeki," I said, smiling as I remembered the conversation I had two weeks ago.

"You want me to adopt you?" Yumi asked.

"No, I want you to sign me into your family. We would be more like sisters," I said, trying to keep my face from blushing.

"Awe, do you really see me as a sister?" she asked.

"M-maybe."

"Izumi, you know that if we do this you forfeit all chances to go back to your mother right?"

"That's the other reason, I don't want to go back to her. I want to stay with you," I declared.

"You're too cute for this world," she cooed, hugging me.

"If you're here to make friends, leave," a tired voice said.

I calmly looked over to see a yellow caterpillar of a man rolling into the room. Melissa and I went to our desks which were right next to each other and sat down.

"I'm going to be your homeroom teacher, call me Mr. Aizawa. Put these on and meet me outside," he said, tossing a bunch of PE uniforms out while stepping out to reveal black baggy clothes and a capture scarf I recognized.

Melissa and I both got up and grabbed a uniform before making our way to the locker room.

"This is a little weird," a girl with brown hair said.

"Yeah, I wasn't expecting this," one with orange hair agreed.

"I assume this isn't normal for schools to do," a tall girl with raven hair said.

"Nope, we are in uncharted territory," a girl with pink skin clarified.

"I wouldn't keep him waiting," I said, walking out with Melissa who was also already dressed.

"Hey, cool to see you two made it as well," the purple haired girl said, following us since she was also changed.

"Oh, thank you again for helping get me out," Melissa said.

"No problem, still, I know I shouldn't but I have to ask, what was with your interaction with All Might at the end?" she asked.

"I had a chance encounter with him once. Well, you know what they say, never meet your heroes," I sighed. "I'm Izumi Sogeki by the way."

"I'm Melissa Shield."

"I'm Kyoka Jirou," she said. "Wait, Shield, as in David Shield? Isn't your father All Might's support technician?"

"He was, however, for reasons they haven't been as close as they were," she said.

"Ah, sorry to hear about that," Jirou said. "So, I'm guessing the two of you are either close or dating or something since you're constantly holding hands."

"Oh, um, yeah, we've been together for almost six months now," I said.

"That's nice, how about after this I'll give you my number and we can start a group chat? I'll even add Yanagi, she's the other girl who helped. We went to the same school, she's in our class too. She's a little on the weird side, but a good friend," she said.

"Sounds good to me," I said.

"Looks like some of you aren't irrational," Mr. Aizawa said.

After a couple of minutes everyone else started making their way here and I smirked as I saw a woman also approach us from the other direction. She was tall and had blue and pink hair and wore a sleeveless tank-top with combat pants and boots.

"Alright, now that you are all here I can explain a few things," Mr. Aizawa said. "Bakugou and Toga are the two students who want to reform themselves from their criminal backgrounds since it was not totally their fault for heading down that path. As you can also see UA has hired Kaina Tsutsumi aka Lady Nagant to keep an eye on them to make sure they don't do anything or if they try to escape since until they graduate they are still criminals," he said.

"Um, what about the entrance ceremony?" the brown haired girl asked.

"It's a waste of time and Nezu knows that I won't take my class there. We are going to do a special assessment, you have all done these in the past but today you will be allowed to use your quirk to do them," he said.

"We get to use our quirks?" a boy with red hair asked.

"This is going to be so much fun!" the pink skinned girl said.

"Heroics aren't meant to be fun. It's a serious profession and shouldn't be taken lightly. Quirks can do a lot of damage to people and even kill if not used carefully," I said.

"Correct Sogeki, however, since Ashido wants this to be fun, let's make it fun for me then. Who ever gets last place in these events will be expelled," Mr. Aizawa said.

"You can't do that," a girl with long dark green hair said.

"He can, UA teachers are given a lot of freedom," Ms. Tsutsumi said.

"The world of heroics is eat or be eaten, if you aren't ready for this then I suggest you leave now," he said.

"Where do we start?" I asked, stepping forward with Melissa.

"The fifty meter dash," he said.

I watched as everyone else went, some using their quirks while others notably didn't. Then it was Melissa and mine turn.

"Hey, let's make a bet. Whoever is higher at the end chooses the next date and the other has to pay," I said.

"You're on," she agreed.

I smirked as I reached into my pocket. When the gun went off the two of us took off. Once we were halfway I threw the bat shuriken and smiled as the timer caught it.

"Sogeki:3.79, Shield:5.03," Mr. Aizawa said.

"How did she get that?" a girl with dirty blonde hair asked.

"She only just beat Shield by a moment," a boy with yellow hair added.

"Sir, are you sure that was correct?" Ilda asked.

"It's what the device told me and it's good at detecting when things pass it," he said. "Now, onto the next test, the grip strength," he said, leading us inside a small gym just off of the training ground we were on.

We were all given a grip reading device. I smirked as I put it between my two hands which were facing opposite directions as I pulled them away from each other causing the device to squeeze together. I looked over and saw Melissa using her thighs to squeeze the device. She got a higher number than me with 78.0kg while mine was 74.8kg. For the seated toe touches Melissa folded herself in half while I could only go just past my toes. In the sit ups I got to a hundred before he stopped me, Melissa stopped at forty giving me the upper hand in it. We then went out for the remaining tests starting with the repeated side steps. The two of us were evenly matched in this event since both of us focused on acrobatics and dealt with these multiple times. For the standing long jump many people made it over the pit. I did some flips mid air to land just on the other edge of the pit while Melissa was closer to the middle. For the distance run I out ran her only by a little bit. Then came the final event, the ball toss. Melissa got 132.9 meters on hers and then I went up and took the ball. I took a stance and looked out before throwing the ball as hard as I could. I then grabbed a shuriken and threw it as the ball started to descend and made the ball knock the shuriken down but bounce a little higher and reach 158.2 meters.

"Deku you quirkless bitch!" Bakugou yelled. "How the fuck did you cheat to get in here?" he demanded, charging me before his explosions stopped and he was in a white capture scarf.

"Bakugou, you are already on thin ice and you think attacking another student would be a good idea?" Mr. Aizawa asked.

"She's quirkless?" a couple of the other students asked, murmuring among themselves.

"Sir, why is there a person like her in the hero course?" Ilda asked, saying the word person as if he wanted to use another word.

"Because, she got the number one spot in the entrance exam for both the hero and support courses and she tested out of quite a few subjects. Her along with Shield will be taking support classes in the morning and heroics classes with you in the afternoon," Mr. Aizawa said.

"But a quirkless can't be a hero, why would UA let a thing like that when a real person who deserves that spot was denied access?" the tall girl with raven hair asked.

"Just because we don't have quirks doesn't make us any less people than all of you," Melissa said.

"Wait, you're quirkless too?" the boy with yellow hair asked.

"It doesn't matter if they have a quirk or not. The two of them were both in the top five places in both courses and so they will be in class with you all and you will treat them like you would any other classmates as they are heroes in training just like the rest of you. If I hear any of you treating them as anything other than people who earned their places here I will expel you and also blacklist you from any hero courses in Japan," Mr. Aizawa said.

"Why give them the chance? They are useless and are only useful for paying taxes and even then it's just barely a use," a boy with half white and half red hair said.

"Hey, quirkless people aren't useless, Sogeki took down the zero pointer in the entrance exam, something no one else did," Jirou said.

"Agreed," the silver haired girl who helped Melissa in the exam said.

"Mhm," a girl with dark hair agreed nodding her head.

"Are you dumb or something, quirkless are useless," the brown haired girl said.

"Are you all really trying to be heroes?" Tsutsumi asked. "Heroes are supposed to be the pillars of society and keep innocents safe, when it comes down to it having a quirk or not doesn't matter, all that does is your mind and wanting to protect others. It's a taxing job, that's part of the reason I didn't push to get my license back."

"Alright, this discussion is over," Aizawa declared. "Here are the results."

1. Izumi Sogeki

2. Melissa Shield

17. Ochako Uraraka

18. Hanta Sero

19. Kyoka Jirou

20. Denki Kaminari

"What? How did the two of them beat me?" the raven haired girl asked, astounded.

"Because, this assessment was to test your abilities to use what you have to do what you have to. The two of them used their minds to cover for their lack of special powers that the rest of you have while also beating most of your scores. They have more ingenuity than most of you put together. Also, I shouldn't have to say this, but if any of you want to go to make an announcement and give information on them you will face more lawyers than you could even imagine so don't be irrational. Oh, and Kaminari, you aren't expelled," he said. "Now go change and grab the papers on your desks. Tomorrow starts the real work," he added, walking away.

"I can't believe we have to deal with nulls in our class," Yaoyorozu muttered, using one of the many slurs for quirkless people.

"Yaoyorozu, watch your language!" Aizawa yelled, causing her to freeze up.

"You two wait out here until after we changed so we don't have to be near you," the brown hair girl said, looking at Melissa and I as she stood in front of the locker room.

"Really? Nah, you two are good," the pink skinned girl said.

"NO! I don't want to change with them in the room," the brown haired girl said.

"Well, too bad," the pink girl said, opening the door and letting the two of us in. "I'm Mina Ashido, and I'm sorry about them," she said, changing near us.

"It's alright, this is honestly better than Aldara," I said.

"Wait, you went to that school?" Jirou asked.

"Yeah, and Bakugou did as well. I'm amazed they are letting him have a chance at being a hero after all he did to me," I muttered.

"That's what is with all the burn scars huh?" Jirou asked.

"Yeah."

"What's with the light on your chest?" the girl with orange hair asked.

"Oh, I have an electromagnet in my chest keeping some pieces of metal away from my heart and this powers it," I explained.

"That's amazing, you're injured and still working on being a hero," she said. "I'm Itsuka Kendo, and I can't wait to see you two become heroes."

"They'll be out of the course by the end of the month," Yaoyorozu said. "It's just a fact that they can't do anything."

"But we both got higher scores than you," I said.

"It was a fluke and you know it," she said, walking over to me. "Don't get in my way," she said, standing in front of me as I tried to leave.

"Then get out of mine," I said.

"You are nothing more than dirt on what is supposed to be a perfect path," she said, walking forward.

"If you are trying to intimidate me then you need to work on it," I said.

"You should be intimidated," she said, as a light appeared on her arm.

I recognised this as her quirk activating. She pulled a metal staff out and went to hit me with it, but I grabbed it and used it to throw her over my shoulder while grabbing it for myself.

"Next time you try to pick a fight don't give a person their weapon of choice," I said, putting the staff against her neck.

I then threw it on the ground and walked out.

"Hey, are you good?" Melissa asked, catching up to me.

"Yeah, just needed to cool down. I knew there were going to be some people who wouldn't like us, but I wasn't expecting the Yaoyorozu princess and Ilda legacy child to be two of them," I said.

"I recognise Yaoyorozu from Yaoyorozu Ind. since they are Stark Ind. biggest competitors but what do you mean by Ilda legacy?" Melissa asked.

"The Ilda family have been heroes since it was a profession. His older brother is Ingenium," I explained. "Then we have the number two's prodigy child, Shoto Todoroki. Honestly, I'm scared of what his father's going to do when it gets out that there's not one but two quirkless hero students let alone that we're in the same class as his son," I sighed.

"You don't think he's going to do anything do you?" she asked.

"Not directly, at least not at first unless he's really stupid," I said.

"Well, at least we should have a week or two before it gets bad," she said.

The Next Day

"Alright, these are our dual course students Izumi Sogeki and Melissa Shield, they'll be with us in the mornings," Power Loader said. "Your stations are over there next to the pink haired girl."

"Hi, I'm Mei Hatsume, future CEO of Hatsume Ind," the girl with pink dreadlocks said.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Izumi Sogeki," I said.

"I'm Melissa Shield."

"As in the famous David Shield?" she asked.

"He is my father," Melissa said.

"So, you're going to own Stark Ind. in the future right?" she asked.

"Actually someone solved my ancestor's codex and they own the company," she said.

"Oh, sorry about that I guess," she said, still happy.

"Alright, you may start on any designs you wish to work on. You have until lunch," Power Loader announced.

I went back and grabbed an old speaker as well as some other metals before taking them to my station. I got to work and pulled up the design on my laptop as well as having Tony ready to change it if someone other than Melissa and I tried looking at it. As I was trying to work on getting the right frequency there was a sound next to me.

"Why are you building a bomb?" Hatsume asked, looking over at me.

"It's not a bomb, not really at least," I said. "And why would I tell you?"

"Oh, um, sorry. I just get interested when I see people building babies that only have a one time use," she said.

"Babies?" I asked.

"Yeah, everything I build is like my child," she said, working on a gauntlet, one that was slightly familiar from my looking into Stark blueprints.

"Is that supposed to be a Stark repulsor?" I asked.

"How could you tell?" she asked.

"Because, I've seen a lot of things because of Melissa," I said. "You know it's illegal to build one right?"

"It's illegal to build one exactly like what the great Tony Stark did, mine is my own design," she said.

"But if it's close enough you can be arrested and have it and everything dealing with it taken, you know that right?" I asked.

"Wait, what? But they can't take my babies, I work so hard on them," she said.

"You can't copy Stark tech without getting permission and it's difficult to do that," Melissa said.

"They're right, Hatsume," Power Loader said. "Looking at your design it's too close to what Stark built. You're not going to be allowed to build it," he added.

"Dang it," she said. "But I have so many ideas that can make me able to join the hero course, I just need a couple of them to be able to do what you two are doing. I just couldn't get enough points in the hero entrance exam," she added, looking at us.

"How about if we have some free time we can help you with your gear," I said, locking eyes with Melissa who smiled.

"Really?" she asked.

"Yeah, I don't see why not. We can help you etch your own identity instead of taking another one," Melissa said.

"Sounds amazing! We are going to make so many babies as a group!" she said.

"Phrasing, please," I sighed.

"What do you mean?" Hatsume asked.

"I'm going to regret this aren't I?"

I got a message on my computer that read -Indeed.

"Who sent that?" she asked.

"No one," I sighed.

Once we were done with our time in the lab we went to leave but Hatsume tried to stay.

"I need to work on my babies!" she whined.

"No, you need to eat, you can't work on an empty stomach and without plenty of rest," I said.

"I have granola bars," she countered.

"Not good enough, if you want us to work with you you need to eat food," Melissa said.

"B-but I can't eat with so many people around," she said.

"Wait, Hatsume, you don't have to tell us this and if you want I won't bring it up again, but are you by chance on the autism spectrum?" I asked.

"Yes, I am, and I can't eat with so many people around and it's why I am always focused on my babies," she said. "Go ahead and make fun of me and laugh behind my back if you want, I'll probably not notice it anyways," she sighed, her voice displaying other than cheerfulness for once.

"We aren't going to make fun of you for something you can't control, honestly it would be kinda hypocritical of us for what we've gone through," Melissa said.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"Well, Melissa and I are both quirkless," I said, looking at Melissa and getting a nod.

"Really? That's amazing, so people would make fun of you and stuff?" she asked.

"Yeah, I was in a toxic relationship with my mother because of it and I was beaten to a pulp almost everyday at school," I said.

"Kids weren't outright antagonistic to me, but there were more than enough talks of me going around," Melissa said.

"So, how about this, we find a table off to the side and you can sit with your back to the wall and we'll sit so you can't see as many people," I said.

"I-I think that's good," she said.

"What do you want? I'll go get it for you," I offered.

"Um, low sodium udon noodles in beef broth," she said.

"Alright, I got your's Mel," I added, as we were walking into the room and they went to get a seat.

I grabbed both of their meals as well as mine. I made my way to the side where Melissa was sitting across from Hatsume. I sat her cheeseburger and fries in front of her and handed Hatsume her bowl of noodles before sitting down with my teriyaki. Once we were done eating Melissa and I walked back to the room with Hatsume before running to 1-A's room. The two of us went to our seats and sat down. The first heroics class was Modern Hero Art History with Midnight. Once she was gone she walked out and for the final class of the day, Foundational Hero Studies.

AN-

Next chapter will be the first hero class with 1-A along with their new teacher. It will be the battle trials only with some differences in how the battle for some of them goes. This is where I start fearing for how people will react because of some tough decisions I made and how some of the things go down. Also, for those who are waiting for other fics of mine to be updated it might be a bit because my adhd has been in hyperfocus mode and this has been the focus for it so even though I try to write the other ones this is what ends up written and I apologize. Also, who do you want Izumi and Melissa to go with on their internships? I have a couple of ideas but want your opinions. Right now I'm thinking Melissa will go with Arrowette and Izumi has a couple of more options of who I want her to go with but one will be hilarious and the other more serious. Let me know of any ideas you have or just if you want it to be serious or more so funny. Make sure to follow, favorite, comment, and kudos! Link Out!
