Pain that's all Ava could feel as she slowly came to her senses. Her vision was still dark, but the little girl could feel herself lying on something soft, like a couch or a bed. The last thing she remembered was running through woodland before stumbling and hitting her head against a tree stump, rendering her unconscious. And Despite her vision being somewhat fuzzy and unclear, Ava could make out a figure standing just a few feet away from her.
"D...Doctor?" she mumbled weakly, hoping that he was the one who had found her after she had it her head, only for the figure to let out an amused chuckle as it moved closer to her.
"Sorry to disappoint you, little Ava, but I'm not who you were expecting." As the little girl's vision became more apparent, Ava saw the last person she wanted to see, and it caused her to let out a defeated groan. "Well, you've been a naughty little girl, haven't you, Ava?" The Master chuckled as the little girl tried to sit up, only to find that she didn't have the strength to " luckily, my little friends found you when they did, or else who knows what would have happened after that little tumble you took, you've been unconscious for a good few hours now." As her vision returned to focus a little more, Ava lifted her head to see that her wrists and ankles were tied together, and the child immediately began to struggle.
"Ah Ah Ah, I wouldn't do that if I was you," The Master stated, "can't be having you getting worked up and having another Asthma attack now can we, not while I need you alive." Ava immediately stopped struggling, not wanting to have another of her Asthma attacks, but she glared right at her captor, and The Master couldn't help but chuckle at this little girl's attempts to be menacing.
"The Doctor will find me, him, Jack, Martha, they'll find me, and they'll put a stop to whatever you got planned," she implied, trying to sound brave, but her voice had a strong hint of fear in it, where was the Doctor when was he going to come and save her?
"Oh, I'm counting on it, soon the Doctor and his little band will fall right into my trap once they come to save you, little Ava," The Master replied, leaning against a desk with his arms folded, "and as for my plan, well, you will find out tomorrow morning exactly what that is, now" he walked over to the couch that Ava had been lying on and crouched down so that he was at eye level with her " I'm going to unite you now, and do you promise to try not try and run away this time?" he paused, noticing that Ava didn't seem to have any energy to try a second escape attempt "actually, I'll just untie you anyway, by the looks of it, I don't think you'll be trying that stunt again."
As The Master began to untie Ava, she was tempted to punch him right in the face once he had finished and make a break for it, but knowing that her first escape attempt had failed, who was the say that her second escape could fail again? The only thing she could do was wait for The Doctor, Jack, and Martha to come and rescue her. After he finished untying her, the door to the room they were in walking and a young woman walked in.
"Ah Lucy, so nice of you to join us and nice timing also, our little guest has finally woken up," the evil timelord turned to face Ava "you remember Lucy, my wife, don't you Ava, remember, the pair of you met briefly when I first brought you here."
As Lucy walked over to the sofa that Ava had been lying on, the little girl shuffled back, clearly nervous, she didn't know if Lucy was just as insane as The Master was, but then again, she was his wife, so she must be.
"It's alright, you don't have to be scared," the young woman reassured Ava. "I'm not going to hurt you."
"Well," The Master stated, clasping his hands together in an almost dramatic manner, "I got some important business to attend to, so I'll leave you two girls to get acquainted, oh and more thing," he turned dramatically to face Ava "I wouldn't try another escape attempt again, because I will send my little friends after you like last time. Well, can't stay and chat, got to make preparations for world conquest." After he had left the room, Lucy gave the child what appeared to be a look of disappointment before stating that she had made a big mistake in trying to escape.
"Listen, I know you must be scared right now," she told the little girl who was keeping her distance, "but Harry's not so bad once you get to know him" Ava raised her eyebrow "look, I think it'll be best if you just do as he says, then he won't have any reason to hurt you."
"HE'S A MANIAC. HE KILLED PEOPLE, I SAW IT, HE..." Lucy clamped her hand over Ava's mouth before she could finish and all that came from the Ten-year-old was a bunch of muffled screams before explaining to her that whoever he had killed probably deserved it, but Ava shook her head. "I'm sorry, but it's true, those people he killed were traitors, and they deserved it, he," she noticed that Ava was starting to breathe fast, indicating that she was about to have another Asthma attack "now look, you have gone and got yourself worked up, and it's brought on an Asthma attack."
As the little girl gasped for air, Lucy tried to calm her. She was not used to dealing with children, especially those with medical conditions. Still, she knew she had to do something as Ava looked at her pleading eyes like she was begging her to help her.
"Alright, do you have anything, like an inhaler or something?" the young woman asked, and Ava nodded, gesturing to her jacket pocket to indicate that her inhaler was in there. Lucy nodded and took the inhaler from her pocket before handing it to Ava. The latter then proceeded to use it with Lucy rubbing her back in an attempt to calm her just as The Master came back into the room and made what appeared to be a look of mock sympathy upon seeing the current state that Ava was in.
"Dear me, what's going on here? Has poor little Ava had one of those horrible Asthma attacks again?" he said in what sounded like a taunting voice as he strode over to the couch where both Ava and Lucy were sitting.
"I think she's fine now," Lucy implied as ava's asthma attack began to subside. However, it had exhausted her, and the knock to the head from earlier didn't help much either. The little girl collapsed onto the couch, half-conscious, as Lucy explained that she had gotten a little worked up while he was gone, which brought on her attack.
"Oh Ava, Ava Ava," The Master said with a pout before walking over to the couch, standing over the barely conscious little girl "you really mustn't get yourself worked up. After all, I need alive so that I can bring the Doctor into my trap," he smirked evilly as he crouched down, so he was at eye level "and tomorrow's the big day, little Ava, tomorrow is the day that I finally become Master of all." He then put his fingers on her temples, and the little girl could feel herself falling into a deep sleep. However, she could still barely make out The Master's face staring directly at her, she could also hear him shushing her, telling her to go to sleep, and she could also barely make out Lucy standing beside him. Before long, Ava drifted unconscious, her last thoughts being that the Doctor, Martha, and Jack would find her and rescue her very soon.
