They were so close; he could breath in the scent of her hair. He stared into the princesses chocolate brown eyes "Stay down." Ok maybe not the most romantic place; embassy being attacked an all, but under stress was when they really connected. She smiled at him and moved closer. He smiled to himself, she trusted him completely, with her life and even though she did not know he knew it, with her heart.

Another explosion was heard and she buried her head into his chest "Heero…"
 
Picking her up from the ground her carried her to a safer spot, it was not yet safe to leave the building for it was surrounded. Finding a room filled with a few solider were reloading and then leaving "You should be safe for now" he whispered into her ear setting her gently on the ground.
 
"I know" she looked at him reassuringly

Relena traced the outline of his jaw with her finger "With you protecting me I know I will always be safe Heero…"
 
Suddenly he felt like a boy, not the man he was, she was looking at him with a heart full of love. She was the first person who believed in him, who depended on him, who needed him, who loved him.

Relena stared up at him saying nothing, even though the building was going down and the chance of survival she knew that when she was with her prince, she would make it.
 
Forgetting the war he's seen, the people he hurt. Forgetting he was the perfect solider and she was the dove of peace, forgetting that only in a perfect world they be together he bent down and made her a vow of love, he kissed her. He gave her a part of himself, something he'd never shared with anyone before, the only pure and innocent thing he could give her.
 
After they shared their first kiss Relena closed her eyes for a moment then looked back into he purrisan blue ones she said it "I love you Heero."
 
He took her hand "I know."
 
He bent down for another kiss; she knew that was the only way he could say it to her.
 
Moments later a swarm of preventers entered the room saying they'd found a way out.
