Secret Crisis: Battleworld Chapter 15
Layla serves everyone a cup of tea, taking a breather.
"I'll give you the coordinates for your ship to the Deadlands, but I can't go." said Layla.
"We could really use your help Layla" said Marc.
"My fight is here in Egypt. I'm building a resistance to take the fight to Kang." she explained.
"So are we. But our plan has hit a little...detour." said Yelena.
"Because Kang tossed your captain into the Deadlands?"
"Correct" said Peacemaker.
"Lucky for you, I've happened to recruit some muscle to our cause." said Layla
"What kind of muscle?" Asked Ava.
Then the sounds of weapons drawn was coming from outside.
"We got company" said Layla as she and Marc checked the window.
"Shit!" more of Kang's cronies" he said.
"What is the plan?" Asked Yelena.
"Alright we're gonna need something big to draw their fire. A distraction." suggested Marc.
"Blonsky, you're up!" said Yelena.
"I could easily take em out" said Bloodsport grabbing one of his guns.
"I could do it in half the time!" adds Peacemaker.
"We really gonna do this now mate?"
"Trust me, the more we compete, the less we realize how many we're killing"
"Actually, you won't have to" said Layla as she pressed a button on her watch.
"Uh? What is that?" Asked Zemo.
"My new muscle"
Back outside, more of Kang's forces were closing in from troops to ground and air vehicles.
As they prepare to open fire, a force like no other dives in from the skies crashing through all aircraft and lands in front of the cabin.
"OPEN FIRE!!"
The troops opened fire watching their bullets essentially bounce off this being as if it was bullet proof.
The being wiped her costume and cracked get Knuckles.
"My turn"
The woman's eyes glowed red with lasers blasting from her pupils, blasting at Kang's forces causing them all to scatter.
"Took you long enough" said Layla.
"Came as fast as I could" said the woman
The others then took a look as they couldn't help shake the sense of familiarity.
"Kara Zor-El. I'm here to help." said Kara.
"Another Kara?" Asked Ava.
"Awww shit." said Bloodsport.
"You must be Robert Dubois. The man who nearly killed my cousin" said Kara.
"Well at least we know what universe she's from." said Yelena.
"Yeah. Sorry about that love." said Bloodsport.
"You know, there's that ol' sayin of don't piss in the wind or tug on Superman's cape..."
Harley then goes to tug on Kara's cape.
"Huh. Don't see the big deal"
Kara couldn't help but chuckle.
Then more of Kang's reinforcements began to surround everyone.
"We got company!" shouts Marc.
"You're up Barbara" said Kara
"Barbara?" Asked Ava
The goons took position aiming their guns at the group. A lone batarang lands in front of them as a red light blinks faster and faster until it exploded into a cloud of thick smoke.
Kang's forces coughed and panicked not knowing what was about to happen.
An unknown force lands in the midst as she starts picking off the goons one by one. She quickly dispatches them with martial arts and tech as the smoke began to clear.
One of the goons gets knocked onto the ground as he began to crawl but gets his ankle dragged. He then gets his face kicked and then gets pummeled with punch after punch with the final hit being the knock out blow.
"Another Batwoman?" Asked Ava
"It's Batgirl actually." said Batgirl giving Supergirl a fist bump.
"Kara Zor-El and Barbra Gordon ladies and gentlemen." Explained Layla.
"These are your muscle?" Asked Marc.
"One's invincible the other just kicks a lot of ass so that is good enough for me" said Yelena.
"Same here. We need to get back to the others. Co-Captian to nest come in!" said Ava.
"Go ahead Co-Cap'n" Constantine answered.
"We need a pick up at our location. How quick can you get here?" Asked Ava.
Barry then answered in the form of him running all across Cairo to find the team.
"How's that for quick?" Asked Barry.
He then turns to see Batgirl and Supergirl.
"Uhhh. Kara Danvers I presume?" Asked Barry
"Barry Allen. I also presume" replied Kara.
"Batwoman?"
"Batgirl." said Barbara
"So you guys tagging along?" Asked Barry.
"For now." answered Barbara.
"We're only going to take you to the Deadlands to grab your friend. After that, you are on your own" Explained Layla.
"And you are?" Asked Barry.
Layla then changed into the Scarlet Scarab with her splaying out her golden wings from her arms.
"Marc's wife" she explained.
Barry flabbergasted simply nods.
