"I still can't believe Cody forgot Eve's birthday yesterday." Randy says as he pulls the Hummer out of the parking lot.
The Hummer was precious to Randy. John has never driven the Hummer before, and I've only driven it twice. Both times were when it was just me and Randy, so John doesn't even know about it.
"I can't believe she is still pissed about it." John comments.
"It's understandable." I respond. "Michelle would be pissed too."
"True. Why do you get to sit in the front?"
"Because I felt like it."
"What if I wanted to?"
"Then get…"
Randy shoots me a look that tells me to shut up. "She's up here, so I won't be able to smack you when you start an argument with her."
"I can stay back here then."
Randy lets out a sigh, and the rest of the car ride is silent. I pull up the internet on my cell phone as soon as Randy parks.
I tap his shoulder. "They just released more character renders for SmackDown vs. Raw 2010. I'm nosing around to see them."
"Whose renders?" John asks from the back seat.
"I don't know yet."
"Check, yours could be included." Randy tells me as he unbuckles his seatbelt.
I look at the renders. "Mine is in here. They finally put my favorite pants in the game."
"The half-gray half-black ones?"
"Yeah and there's a demo you can play at SummerSlam Axxess tomorrow. You have just lost me and Michelle for the day."
"Oh man. Is your render good this year?"
"It's a lot better than last year. I got a great face this year, and I have an attire I actually wore while the game was developing. It's the one shoulder tank top that's pink and the net covering along with the high-heeled wrestling boots. I'm glad. If they're putting me in a video game, I want to look good."
"That attire looks hot on you though."
"Randal, stop the flirting. Let's go." John exits the car.
I chuckle as Randy and I follow suit with exiting the car
We walk into the mall and look for the jewelers store. John finds it and runs towards it like he's a child going to a video game or toy store. Randy and I trail behind him walking.
"I have never seen him run so fast." I whisper to Randy.
"Me either." Randy replies with a laugh before giving my hand a gentle squeeze.
We walk into the jeweler's store together. John is already looking at a few rings. We walk up behind him.
"You couldn't wait a few minutes?" I ask quietly.
"Sorry, Rissa." John looks at me. "I was just excited."
"Okay, John. I get it. This is a big deal."
John and I look at more rings while Randy just stands awkwardly looking at necklaces. I feel a little bit bad about having him come with us.
"Guess Randy has lost interest in us." John chuckles before I smack his arm. "Randy, she smacked me."
Randy shrugs. "I heard your comment. Do I need to RKO you too?"
"Sorry man. No RKO is necessary."
Randy smirks. "I'm going to go smoke."
John and I share a look as Randy walks out of the store. Randy only smokes when he's stressed out. Neither of us knew why Randy would be stressed out.
"Go." John tells me. "I'll be here when you get back. We're both concerned about it. Go see what's going on with him. I know you want to."
"Thanks." I say before running out after Randy.
I find Randy, smoking a cigarette, out by the Hummer. He honestly wasn't looking too good at the moment. I quickly rush over to the Hummer to check on Randy.
I sit on the ground next to Randy's feet. "You okay? You coming out here to smoke got John and I a little concerned."
"Do I look okay, Marissa?!" Randy snaps.
I jumped a little, startled by Randy snapping like that. "I'll be inside."
I'm taken aback by Randy snapping at me like that. Nothing going on could justify what he just did, and I wasn't going to deal with it. I stand up and start walking away.
For once, I was actually a little intimidated by and scared of Randy. He never snapped on me like that before, and I used to irritate him all the time when we were younger. I had no clue what caused it, but Randy snapped like I had done something awful to him when I clearly hadn't. I let a tear roll down my face before walking towards the mall. I hear Randy call after me, but I ignore him.
I walk back into the jeweler's store to go back to help John. "You can sit up front on the way back."
"What happened?" John asks with concern.
"I just asked him if he was okay, and he totally snapped on me. I walked away and ignored him when he called after me. I just want some time away from him, so he can cool off. I'm not dealing with it right now. Don't make a big deal about it. Let's just worry about this ring."
"Okay. Let me know if you need anything."
We pick out an engagement ring that John and I both agree is perfect for Michelle. We head out to the Hummer, and John sits in the front seat, just like I had told him to. Randy, knowing that I had told John to, glances at me. I don't respond to the glance.
The car ride is completely silent. I focus on my phone. Randy focuses on driving. John stares out the window.
Once we are parked, I leap out of the car and head to mine and Randy's hotel room. Randy and John are talking a little bit, so I've got some time to pack and move to Kelly and Brie's room, as I'd texted them and gotten permission to room with them, before Randy got to the room I was supposed to be sharing with him. When I grab my bags to leave, Randy walks in.
Randy looks at me confused. "Where are you going?"
"To stay with friends." I quickly answered.
"Why?"
"I need space."
"Are you really going to leave?" Randy stands in the doorway.
"Yes, after the shit you pulled in the mall parking lot, I have no intentions of being around you tonight. You can have the room to yourself. We both know you had no reason to snap on me like that." I duck under his arm and leave before he even responds.
I hear him slam the door and shout damn it. I walk to Kelly and Brie's room since they're back from the girls' night. They grab my bags, and I start to cry. Kelly hugs me as Brie rubs my back. I hear the door open behind me. It's Eve. She also has her luggage. She drops it inside the door and runs over to me.
"I heard what happened between you and Randy. I agree. He had no right to snap on you like that." Eve tells me as she pulls me into her arms.
"Who told you?" I ask as I'm trying to stop crying.
"John told Cody when you guys got back, and I overheard."
"Aren't you and Cody fighting?"
"Yeah. It just so happens that I overheard."
"Guess we both have relationship problems."
"I guess so."
