f[Midoriya Residence, One Month Later]
Izuku woke up from a weird dream about him fighting some weird dude with hands all over him. To be honest, he enjoyed that dream as he was moving at speeds not even All Might could achieve and heard people cheering him on and giving him tips in his head?
Izuku decided that was the last time he watched videos on alternate timelines before bed, that was the most ridiculous dream he'd ever had though it would be cool to see. He checked his alarm to see it was 6:40, giving him enough time to get dressed and eat some waffles (he just craved waffles at the moment) before school.
He entered the restroom with his towel around his waist as he looked into the mirror while singing his favorite song: The Day by Porno Graffitti. The song would always get him pumped and help motivate him to get through tough days like today, as he planned to drop by the engineering club to help Mei out.
He'd be lying if he said that he wasn't nervous to be alone with someone as unpredictable as Mei for an hour or two. Nonetheless, he was excited to hang out with the energetic girl. As he got out of the shower, Izuku walked towards the mirror and paled.
His geass was in both his eyes until he blinked and they were gone. 'The power of the king will condemn you to a life of solitude' were the words C.C telepathically told him before granting him this cursed power, he'd rather not make anyone who talks to him fall under his bidding as that would be horrible unless it was Bakugo, he didn't mind him.
Upon exiting the bathroom he was greeted by C.C, who was staring at him with a sly grin, he groaned as he knew that was never a good sign to see from the immortal witch.
"You sounded beautiful. Loved those high notes, the voice cracks added that extra needed zing to it" mocked his sister. Izuku blushed in embarrassment as he grumbled all the way to his room. He wasn't in the mood to talk to her so telling her about his geass hallucination could wait.
After getting into his uniform, he ate some toast with some tea. C.C joined him in the kitchen as she grabbed her own plate of toast.
"So today is the day, right? I hope you're prepared…" said C.C, with a mouth full of toast. Izuku nodded as he sipped some tea.
"Yeah, I decided I'll take up his offer. I wanna know what they're doing to that girl, whatever it is, it's incredibly bad if she was so bandaged up" said Izuku with a serious expression. C.C smiled at him before speaking up.
"I'll say one thing, your righteous heart is extremely commendable. I'm glad I gave you my power, really. I just want you to actually use it, but I won't egg you on about that anymore or at least I'll try. We're having pizza tonight, anyway have fun at school" said the greenette as she stood up and ruffled his hair.
Izuku felt happy to hear her kind words as growing up with no siblings, he was always so alone. C.C was as close to a sibling as he'd get and he truly was grateful to have her in his life even if she kept annoying him with the 'use your power' stuff.
"Thanks…sis. Well I'll try to have fun at school but no promises. Especially considering I'll be alone with Hatsume…" said Izuku, mumbling the last part. Before he exited the door he heard C.C say.
"Ha, you better not force that girl to date you! That'd be incredibly pathetic" shouted C.C from the other room. Izuku turned as red as a tomato, slamming the door shut on his way out.
[After School]
Izuku honestly was anxious the entire day. He didn't really know how to handle his stress so he just took extra notes for his classes to get his mind off it.
Once again he was grateful for C.C because Bakugo honestly had been less of a problem, although he would glare at him alot or still trip him and stuff.
Shinso & Toga had decided to come with him so they were a little intrigued to see what Mei's little workshop was like. Shinso dubbing it a violation to public safety, while Toga hoped it was cute, Izuku honestly had no expectations except to see a lot of little trinkets & gadgets sprawled across the room.
'Engineering Club'
The sign above the door looked nice enough but it was time to see the inside. Izuku nervously twisted the doorknob as he opened it slowly, what he saw was not what he expected.
The room was relatively clean with only the displaced tools on the crowd making it look messy. The overall aesthetic of the room was well a regular workshop with blue colored walls & posters of gears placed around the room.
In the center of the room were blueprints for various projects seemingly while the other tables had tools, semi made trinkets, finished gadgets & stuff at the beginning process of being made.
Mei was wearing a shirt with a giant gear on it opposite to her usual assortment of tank tops, further surprising the trio. Her uniform shirt laid on a chair as she was switching to her usual baggy pants, leading to Izuku abruptly closing the door in embarrassment.
'Why does this keep happening to me…' thought Izuku, whose face was slightly pink.
Shinso & Toga looked at him confused until he explained what happened or rather stammered it out leading to Toga laughing her ass off, while Shinso gave him a look of pity.
"Hey! Zuku, is that you? You could've knocked first although I don't really mind either way. You can come in now!" shouted the inventive teen, happily. The three teens walked into the workshop and stared in awe at what was different from their expectations or rather Shinso and Toga did.
"This place looks too good to be true. Where's the junk or dust or anything dirty?!" exclaimed Shinso. Mei shot him a dirty look as she crossed her arms.
"An inventor always keeps their workspace clean enough to get work done. Why would I allow for it to be messy around my precious babies?! I hope you too weren't thinking the same thing?" said Mei angrily, Izuku found her pouting face remarkably adorable.
He frantically waved his hands around as he explained his thoughts on the subject, while Toga just complimented her skills to keep things tidy. After that debacle, Mei went to a small fridge in the corner of the workshop and pulled out a box as she moved some inventions of her's off a table to make room.
The three teens shared a glance of worry until she opened it to reveal a nice little cake. It was definitely a custom order but did she really buy this?
"I didn't account for you two joining us…I'm really sorry. At best this is enough for three people…" said Mei, dejectedly.
"It's alright, cake isn't my favorite thing in the world anyways" said Shinso, shrugging. Toga nudged his side while flashing him a toothy grin, revealing her fanged teeth.
"I got a cake that you might like. Sweet, medium sized and it's vanilla flavored too!" said Toga, wiggling her eyebrows as she teased the sleep deprived boy. His cheeks turned red as he looked away from her.
"Jeez, if I wanted your cake then I'd just take it" grumbled the boy. Toga blushed at his insinuation as she huffed in defeat.
"Wow Hatsume, this looks incredible. The gear piece is edible right?" asked Izuku, excitedly. He had a bit of a sweet tooth, although he never said it outloud. Mei put a finger to her chin as she recounted what the box said.
"No clue! So um you two decided how things will go?" asked the girl as she looked at their two other friends. Toga thought for a second before speaking up.
"Wanna share? I take a bite and so do you?" asked Toga, innocently. Shinso stared at the girl with a slightly raised eyebrow.
"Different forks?" asked the teen. Toga nodded as she grabbed a plate. Mei just smiled happily as she cut the cake into three huge slices. Izuku's mouth watered slightly as he impatiently waited to be given his plate.
"And here you go, Izuku. Picked the green side just for you, because you know…your hair & eyes are excellent for when you use that cool power of yours" said Mei as she handed him his plate.
The room fell silent as Shinso facepalmed and Izuku paled. Mei's face slowly shifted to a panicked one as she looked away, whistling slightly. Toga just looked between her friends confused by what had occurred, suddenly the room filled with killing intent as her hair raised into the air in a dramatic fashion.
"What was she talking about Izu-kun?" asked the girl dramatically. Izuku's sweat dropped as he watched his senior go from cutesy to a demon. He slowly took a bite of cake but nervously activated his geass.
"I-I-I…I can explain it okay?" Izuku didn't know his eyes had changed until Mei ran up to him and stood so close that they looked like they were practically kissing.
"HATSUME, WHAT THE HECK?!" shouted Izuku, she just smiled derpily as she pulled out her phone and took a photo.
Backing away, she showed him the photo as he gulped. Toga relaxed as her hair dropped down and the aura of the room went back to normal. The next 10 minutes were filled with him explaining his power although he kept its origins hidden as he only said it wasn't a quirk.
"I've gotta say that your power is just an improved version of mine. Kinda unfair" said Shinso. Izuku frantically waved his arms as he tried to cheer up his friend.
"Nono, I need eyesight, while you need speech. Technically both our powers are unique, although mine is a little better, you'll still make a great hero" said Izuku with a bright smile. Shinso couldn't help but smile as he dropped the subject.
"Wow, that's a lot to take in. Although this is hypocritical, you should stop being afraid to use your powers. Embrace it, although I can't…" said the girl with a pained smile. Izuku wanted to say something but now wasn't the time. Mei quietly apologized to Izuku in his ear, as he told her it was fine.
"It would've happened eventually. Plus it was wrong to tell you two and not include her as well" explained Izuku.
After eating the cake, the other two teens went home for the day as Shinso told Izuku to be careful with the yakuza which led to a quick catching up with Toga, who wished him good luck as well.
Now completely alone with Mei, Izuku twiddled with his thumbs as she approached him. She smiled at him as she grasped his palm gently and placed something in it, when he looked down he saw it was a screwdriver.
"You wanted to help out right? The screwdriver is a basic tool that any engineer will find helpful. I'm going to need you to tighten the screws onto these boots. Can you handle that?" asked Mei, softly. Izuku nodded furiously as he was going to do his best to help her out.
[30 Minutes Later]
Izuku failed horribly. He miscalculated how weak he was as the boy didn't work out at all so he was physically pretty weak. It took him 15 minutes to screw in 6 screws, Mei just silently judged him before handing him 6 more screws.
After 30 minutes, Mei finally said something to the now tired boy. He had collapsed on the bean bag in the corner of the room as Mei suddenly fell onto his lap, grabbing his face with one hand and facing it towards her.
"Hatsume…" muttered Izuku. He was doing his best to not let something embarrassing happen but it was difficult with her chest being so close to his face. She had this blank smile on face as she spoke up.
"Izuku…you're incredibly weak! I'm astonished by how weak you are. That was the saddest thing I've ever seen and I watched Cat…" the girl didn't hold back with her relentless insults. Izuku actually began to cry, she wiped his tears softly before laughing.
"I'm so sorry. I'm so so-" she ruffled his hair as she put a finger in front of his mouth. She then hugged him tightly before saying something that left him completely pale.
"It's okay, relax buddy. I'm just going to take you to the gym that my dad takes me to. We'll go wherever you're free and not babysitting that yakuza girl. I will have to put you through the wringer due to how weak you are but don't worry! I'll be by your side every step of the way" said the girl enthusiastically. Izuku nearly passed out from the horrible fate that was bestowed upon him as he dramatically faked being dead.
"Hey stop faking before I give you a kiss to wake you up" said Mei walking away back to her invention, the hover boots. Izuku sprang upward faster than you could say All Might's birthday, which he knew of course.
"K-K-Kiss?! You shouldn't joke like that!" exclaimed Izuku, whose heart was racing. She turned around with her goggles on in a deadpan expression as she pointed to the box of chocolate kiss candy on the table across the room. Izuku rubbed his neck embarrassed by his stupid thoughts.
"So…need anymore help?" asked Izuku, nervously chuckling. She stopped using her wielding torch as she thought for a second.
"You are more brains than muscle…could you help me make sure that I'm following the blueprints if you can come up with any ways to prevent the fuel leakage issue then please do tell" said Mei. Izuku nodded as he picked up the blueprints and performed far better than with the screw job.
[Outside Aldera]
There were a few explosions here and there but it was a pretty good first day all things considered. As they set up shop for the day, Mei smiled as she put her uniform in her bag and turned to Izuku.
"That was fun! D-Did you enjoy it as well…?" asked the pink haired girl nervously. She tried to make it as welcoming to a newbie like himself as she could but she was unsure.
"I really enjoyed it, spending time here with you was less scary than I thought it'd be…even if you threatened my wellbeing with that gym joke haha" chuckled Izuku
"Hahahaha…who said I was joking. I'm coming to your house on Monday after school and we're beginning your training regiment!" exclaimed Mei, happily. Izuku groaned before she grabbed his hand, surprising him.
"Don't you want to have thes-oops. Ignore that, what I meant was don't you want these?" asked Mei.
She had guided Izuku's hand along her rather muscular arm, thighs and lastly her breast on accident before quickly moving it to her abdomen. She had to lift up her tank top a bit for him to feel it but she could tell from his awestruck face that he wanted to be more fit.
"So?" asked the girl. Izuku nodded furiously as he wiped the blood from his nose.
"I'll do it although if I need a break could we? Yakuza, school, the club and working out? That's a lot on my plate you know?" asked Izuku. Mei nodded understandingly as she pulled him for a hug.
"Yeah yeah scaredycat. Welp, have a safe trip home, Izuku! Oh oh, can you record a video of me to show that little girl? I wanna make her happy if possible" said Mei, grinning. Izuku shrugged as he pulled out his phone and recorded her message.
[Midoriya Residence]
Izuku walked home and anxiously called the number that Chisaki gave him. It took 3 minutes but he did hear a voice come through, honestly it gave off the creepy vibes you feel in horror movies.
"Hello, who is this?" asked the man. Izuku gulped before steeling his nerves and answering.
"I-Izuku Midoriya, sir. You offered me the babysitting job a month ago, upon thinking about it I'll do it" answered Izuku. The line was silent for a bit before he spoke again.
"Ah yes. May I ask why you want this job? Most people would decline due to the stigma around us yakuza, so I wanna know why you'd possibly take such a risk" said the man, curiously.
"W-Well your daughter seemed sad, and if it's possible I'd gladly do my best to try and make her happier" said Izuku, confidently. The man chuckled lightly before responding
"Very well, come to xxxx restaurant, I'll bring you to my residence from there as I don't really want people to know where I live afterall. You understand, correct?" asked the yakuza leader. Izuku wrote down the location in his notepad and yawned as he hung up. He was pretty tired from the day but today was his day off from work, so he was fine.
C.C coughed loudly, making her presence known to the boy as he jumped back, startled by her. She giggled at his expense before taking up a serious expression and speaking up. Izuku was then lectured on various espionage tips that the greenettes had observed over the centuries as he took mental note of some of the tips. She wished him luck as he left for the apartment.
[Shie Hassaikai Base]
Izuku stood outside the yakuza leader's residence anxiously, beside him was said imposing leader who was quietly standing in front of a gate. The gate opened as he motioned for the boy to follow him inside. Once inside he saw a staircase leading up to another floor as well as multiple doors in the foyer, taking a liking to the interior design of the place. Chisaki led him upstairs to a door with a rainbow drawn on the door.
Upon the door opening Izuku saw Eri drawing on a notebook and turned to the doorway as the two locked eyes. She immediately ran up to the green haired boy and hugged his leg, looking up at him in awe. Izuku smiled as he lifted her up and spoke.
"How are you doing, Eri? I'm going to be your babysitter for the time being" said Izuku happily. Eri tilted her head in confusion as she put a finger to her chin.
"What's a babysitter? I'm not a baby…" asked the small child. Izuku glanced at Chisaki, who just scratched his chin awkwardly.
"A babysitter's a person who takes care of a child when a parent is too busy to. So I'll be hanging out with you while your dad's busy" said Izuku. Eri looked at her father as he shot her a stare that she knew all too familiarly.
"Okay mr…" the girl paused as she waited for him to say his name.
"Izuku, Izuku Midoriya" said Izuku as he placed the girl back on the ground. Chisaki whispered into his ear that he had business to take care of and would return by 8 pm, so that would be when he could leave. He checked his watch noting that it was 5 pm.
After the imposing man left the room, Eri jumped onto her bed and flipped through her notebook before running back to him and shoving it into his hands. Izuku inspected the notebook before noticing adorable childish drawings of unicorns and an image of herself.
"Aww, you're a pretty good artist. Hey, I have an idea. Do you want me to draw as well?" asked Izuku, as she nodded. Izuku took a pencil from her case of drawing tools and began sketching a unicorn. He noticed Eri's starstruck eyes as she watched him sketch the mythical creature from memory and her plushies as reference. After 3 minutes, he lifted his pencil and handed the notebook to Eri, who inspected the artwork as if it were pure gold.
"This is AMAZING! Mr Izuku, how are you so good at this?!" exclaimed the shocked child. Izuku rubbed his cheek as he hadn't expected to be praised from his art skills as it was completely made on the spot but it came out pretty well.
"Lot's of practice, hehe. Well if you want, I can teach you how I got this good? Although there really are people better than me, I'm not that good…" said Izuku, scratching his cheek. ERi shook her head as she pointed to the unicorn.
"No Mr Izuku, you are the best drawer I know. Please teach me!" shouted the little girl, eager to improve her drawing skills. Izuku chuckled as he began giving her minor tips about how he learnt to draw.
After a while Izuku stared at his cell phone as he got a notification from Mei. He chuckled at her messages, peaking the interest of Eri. She placed her notebook & pencil down onto her bed as she walked up to the boy, pointing at his phone.
"Mister, what is that in your hand?" asked the girl. Izuku stared at the little girl completely baffled by her question.
'HOW CAN A CHILD IN THIS DAY AND AGE, NOT KNOW WHAT A CELL PHONE IS?' thought the green haired boy utterly bemused. He coughed as he answered her.
"Umm, have you never seen a cell phone?" asked Izuku. She shook her head as he handed her his phone, swiping through his gallery for the video Meiforced him to record earlier.
"WOAHH! Is she talking to me? Can she hear me?" asked the girl, curiously as she tapped at the pink haired girl in front of her.
'HEY KIDDO! I'm a friend of the broccoli head you're with! Hope you're having a great day and tell me if he is being a meany. I'll teach him a lesson for ya!' the video ended. Eri giggled as she pointed at Izuku and called him a meanie. Izuku rubbed his neck in embarrassment as he didn't know what to say to her.
What followed next was Izuku giving her a crash course on cell phones from how it works to the different types of cell phones as she absorbed the knowledge like a sponge. He enjoyed teaching her the various things he knew about as he then taught her about heroes. Surprisingly she didn't know about those either and really liked hearing about the various ones. Ending with her calling Izuku, her personal hero, which warmed his heart immensely.
Izuku decided to record a video with Eri, which was pretty adorable if he did say so himself. Mei immediately responded with a bunch of emojis that clearly showed her reaction, leaving Izuku laughing for a minute. Eri smiled as she was having one of the best days of her life at the moment, hoping that it would never end.
[2 hour later, 7 pm]
Izuku helped feed Eri, her dinner which was curry and rice. Izuku smiled at how cheerful the girl had been for a majority of his visit. Something had been itching at his analytical brain that he was far too eager to know but was hesitant on when to drop the question.
"Umm, hey Eri?" asked Izuku, nervously. She looked up from her rather plate and tilted her head at her babysitter.
"Yes mister?" asked Eri.
"I was wondering for a while now, what is your quirk? Your horns on your head lead me to believe you have a mutation quirk" said Izuku, hesitantly. Eri's face paled as she dropped her spoon, she began shivering as she backed away from the table. Izuku quickly tried to calm her down but she was having a full on panic attack, just from the mere mention of her quirk.
"I'm a monster…my quirk hurt my dad…STAY AWAY!" shouted Eri, worriedly. Izuku noticed immediately that yellow sparks began shooting out of the girl as he decided to take a risk and approach her.
"I-I shouldn't have asked you that, I'm sorry for that. However, I can't let you say such terrible things. You aren't a monster! Just because your quirk hurt someone doesn't make you a monster, okay?" asked Izuku, getting the girl to look up at him again. She stared at him with tears in her eyes as he slowly grew closer to her.
"B-But I hurt him! My mom didn't want me…" said the girl quietly. Izuku felt pity for her but he had to fix this because her current mentality would prove a massive hindrance to her future growth.
"Eri, listen to me. When you move your hands, if you hit someone in an accident would that make you a monster?" asked Izuku. She hesitantly shook her head, as Izuku kneeled down before her.
"Quirks are just…like muscles. The more you use them the more control you'll have over it in the future. Also, quirks aren't evil as it's about how you use them" said Izuku, smiling brightly. Izuku hugged the small girl as he suddenly felt a tingling electricity course though him and he felt reenergized as if he had just woken up.
"Mr Izuku…YOUR THE BEST! I'm sorry for yelling at you…I just really don't like my quirk" muttered the girl. Izuku nodded as he felt the same way about his geass.
"If you don't mind me asking what it does?" asked Izuku, feeling like he was out of the woods. She paled yet again although she didn't freak out like earlier.
"I-I can't tell you that. D-Dad said so…" said the girl, her voice gave off complete and utter fear. Izuku took a mental note of that as he spoke up.
"I understand. It's fine, just finish up your dinner alright? Then you can have some nice dreams about unicorns and rainbows" said Izuku softly. Izuku felt relieved as she nodded and began to eat again.
[8 pm]
Izuku yawned as he closed the light in Eri's room. She wouldn't let go of his arm as he tried to leave, confusing the boy.
"Please don't leave Mr Izuku! You're much kinder than the other people...I don't want to be alone again" said the girl. Izuku felt horrible but there was nothing he could do, it wasn't like he could take her with him unless he wanted to have a bounty on his head.
"I'll be back every weekend, okay? Please go to sleep, everything will be okay because I'll be here" said Izuku, confidently. Eri reluctantly let go of the green haired teen as he walked out of her door. She began to cry lightly underneath the covers as she remembered how happy the day had been for here, praying that he wouldn't leave her like her mother.
Izuku noticed a man in a mask and long white raincoat, sitting near the entrance. Izuku walked up to the man as he told him that he was about to leave.
"Ah, your Izuku Midoriya right? See you later then" said the man waving him goodbye as he exited the building. As Izuku gained a good enough distance, he recounted his first day at the place before scoffing angrily.
'They're definitely doing something bad to her. I may not know what it is but there's one thing for certain. I'll never forgive them!' thought Izuku as he walked down the empty street back home.
[Eri's Room, an hour later]
"Eri, Eri! Wake up. Did you like having that kid here as your babysitter?" asked Chisaki. Eri groggily shifted up from her pillow as she blinked before it registered to her that it was her tormentor.
"Y-Yes…Mr Izuku was very kind to me. Please don't-" the little girl shivered as she saw the man remove his glove and pick up one of her plushies before its head was obliterated off it.
"If you even tell him one bit of information from your quirk then I'll have to make him disappear like this plushie. Understand?!" said Chisaki, angrily. Eri nodded furiously as it was up to her to make sure that no harm fell to her personal hero. Afterall he had told her something that changed her opinion of her quirk although she still didn't like it, it was a start.
